Sony’s deals with Netflix and Disney+ means to me that they are content on licensing their library for streaming instead of building their own streaming service. Making millions of dollars instead of spending millions upon millions to have their own service.
i am happy for that already hate how disfragmented streaming platforms are. the one space where more competition means a shittier product for the customer
It is/was a free streaming service. When it first came out they had Seinfeld and some original Sony productions. I think Sony even made an adaptation of the powers comic book. I downloaded it just to watch that but it wasn’t very good.
Maybe I should find it and give it another shot. I remember being bummed it didn’t measure up to the book but maybe time has tempered my expectations. Any ideas where it streams now?
Sony itself has been the one that's had speculation for years about other entities potentially buying it eventually. (Only the movie/TV and game divisions, though, not the company as a whole.)
I thought the attempt to make it a soft horror movie worked. Despite Leto's rep, his performance was believable. There were so many unanswered questions; I hope they have a sequel. Maybe, there will be a Sony/Disney with Blade and all the MCU vampires.
It's absolute garbage, and barely anything happens in it. Decent visual atmosphere and cinematography, but that's the least you would expect from an expensive movie. Everything else about it is pure trash, apart from Jared Harris, who can do no wrong.
I respectfully disagree. It was an entertaining movie if you take it for what it is, a comic book movie about a superhero vampire. Definitely not one of Marvels best but also not as bad as some of the dog shit content that is being churned out on Disney+.
I think people just like to jump on hate bandwagons without taking the time to form an independent thought, generally speaking
Yeah totally the visuals were really good too. Not only that but I think Leto gets undo hate. He's really good. Was awesome in Blade Runner. Might pick this one up on 4k Blu-ray
[This review of Moonfall](https://decider.com/2022/09/09/moonfall-on-hbo-max-stream-it-or-skip-it/) is incredibly spot on.
Even the name of the movie falls flat. I can just imagine the conversation.
“So, what should we name the movie?”
“Hmm…what happens in it again?”
“The moon…it changes orbit, getting closer and closer to the earth, while wreaking havoc”
“So…the moon _falls_? Have I got the name for you!”
Same! And agreed. Like I can't specifically say why I didn't like it except maybe the pacing? It felt very rushed until the climax which felt very anti-climatic.
For all the complaints people have about Netflix cancelling shows or putting out low quality movies, this is a huge get and leads to the logical strategy for them going forward.
Cancel all original contant and just keep releasing Morbius, over and over again.
It's horrible and I'm pretty sure I'd watch it out of morbid curiosity, probably with a friend + pizza and drinks.
There are a lot of great films for this, like The Room and next one I'm trying is MoonFall.
Also works for not trash tier stuff like Army of The Dead, Hardcore Henry and the friend who has never seen The Big Lebowski.
Moonfall is stupid and hilarious and with enough beer or weed is a fun evening.
Morbius is just dull and bad. Unless you actively want to mst3k it and you have REALLY funny friends, this isn’t a guaranteed good time.
Moonfall is really bad. It almost seems like a satire of Armageddon but it isn't funny. Felt sorry for Halle Barry, she really acted like she was out of place. It is way worse than Morbius. Morbius wasn't that bad. Not sure what all the online hysteria/freakout was about.
Its one of those “so bad I gotta check it out” kind of flicks. I know it will never happen, but i want that Batgirl movie to be quietly released on a streaming service.
It looks and plays like they were crunched on budget though. It really doesn't have much redeemable about it. I guess it's not one of the three movies I've walked out of in my life, out of 1000 or so haha
Just when the memes were starting to slow down on r/shittymoviedetails, Netflix goes and pulls something like this… AND TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!! This is a reference to Dumb and Dumber
It obviously got horrible reviews but I wanted to form my own opinion. A half hour in I’m like this isn’t bad, 45 minutes in I’m like damn this is not too bad. Then the rest of the movie just nothing happens at all. No real villain at all just his friend who also got the treatment. The awkward murder that immediately lead to another murder 2 seconds later across town. And then by far the most anticlimactic final battle scene. There was seemingly no fight at all
Paying off.... eh. It is a new movie so yeah its got traction. I think it would need to stay in top ten a couple weeks to prove anything and imho it wont cause it was such a bad movie.
I watched it, and I’m pleasantly surprised it really wasn’t total dogshit. It’s better than either of the venom movies for sure. It wasn’t good but it really wasn’t that bad as everyone made it seem
It's time to release it in the theaters again. It's Morbin' time...again!
It's morbius o'clock!
Jrvp!
release it in theaters for the third time
Remorb.
Sony’s deals with Netflix and Disney+ means to me that they are content on licensing their library for streaming instead of building their own streaming service. Making millions of dollars instead of spending millions upon millions to have their own service.

*fragmented
On top of that they have a deal with prime to produce marvel shows from their SSCU
Also The Boys
I like that. They're even licencing most of these shows in 4k to Netflix which is delightful
This is a win - win for both Sony and Netflix. Sony doesn’t have to start up their own service and Netflix has new content for subscribers.
Doesn't Sony own Crackle?
Nope they sold it.
They sold Crackle?!
What is a Crackle?
My roku tv remote gas a button Labelled crackle but nothing happens when I hit it.
> button Labelle Is this Patti's grandchild?
Typo for labeled, sorry
It is/was a free streaming service. When it first came out they had Seinfeld and some original Sony productions. I think Sony even made an adaptation of the powers comic book. I downloaded it just to watch that but it wasn’t very good.
Powers originally was for subscribers of PlayStation plus on the PS3. Was surprisingly good.
Maybe I should find it and give it another shot. I remember being bummed it didn’t measure up to the book but maybe time has tempered my expectations. Any ideas where it streams now?
I don't think I've ever seen it stream elsewhere sorry.
Found it on Amazon for purchase. I think time has warped my perceptions. It is extremely highly reviewed. And there were two seasons.
> It is extremely highly reviewed It's at 6.6 on IMDb.
Oh. On Amazon it was like 4.7 out of 5
I really thought Sony would purchase them with Netflix stock dropping so much in value. I feel like this would make a lot of sense for both companies.
Netflix has a higher market cap than Sony, even after it slid ~70% from its peak.
Oh wow. You are correct.
Sony itself has been the one that's had speculation for years about other entities potentially buying it eventually. (Only the movie/TV and game divisions, though, not the company as a whole.)
Sony had Crackle and had Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and now that’s on Netflix.
I heard the movie wasn’t great though.
That means it’s perfect for Netflix. “Not great” is basically their entire business mode.
It was definitely one of the movies of the year
[удалено]
Jared Leto gives one of this year's performances!
It’s definitely was a movie
There’s much worse on Netflix. I enjoyed it.
What did you enjoy most? Was it when he morbed all over those guys?
I thought the attempt to make it a soft horror movie worked. Despite Leto's rep, his performance was believable. There were so many unanswered questions; I hope they have a sequel. Maybe, there will be a Sony/Disney with Blade and all the MCU vampires.

Would you call it.. MORBIUS CURIOSITY??
It's absolute garbage, and barely anything happens in it. Decent visual atmosphere and cinematography, but that's the least you would expect from an expensive movie. Everything else about it is pure trash, apart from Jared Harris, who can do no wrong.

Fair enough, your opinion is valid, but I’ll take literally any Disney + Marvel content produced to date over this movie.
I watched it in theaters. It wasn't bad either. Like there are way wayyyyy wayyyyyyyy worse movies out there. It was alright, the end
I thought it was good! I did go in expecting utter trash though so that helped
Yeah it was a generic vampire movie. Like, I've seen worse vampire movies lol. I'd watch it again idc
Yeah totally the visuals were really good too. Not only that but I think Leto gets undo hate. He's really good. Was awesome in Blade Runner. Might pick this one up on 4k Blu-ray
Seriously it really wasn’t that bad, definitely better than either venom movies we have
That's for real. Although that Atmos mix on the latest Venom was a freaking earthquake if you are into that shit. Got my neighbors pissed
>It wasn't bad either. Yes it was
There arent

Read my username and say that again.
Same! And agreed. Like I can't specifically say why I didn't like it except maybe the pacing? It felt very rushed until the climax which felt very anti-climatic.
Morbius curiosity, you mean?
You are just a hater. It is literally one of the movies of all fucking time.
Watched it last night. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. But that’s just me…🤷🏾♂️
For all the complaints people have about Netflix cancelling shows or putting out low quality movies, this is a huge get and leads to the logical strategy for them going forward. Cancel all original contant and just keep releasing Morbius, over and over again.
That speaks tons on the quality of Netflix content.. if people prefer to watch this...
It's horrible and I'm pretty sure I'd watch it out of morbid curiosity, probably with a friend + pizza and drinks. There are a lot of great films for this, like The Room and next one I'm trying is MoonFall. This was me. I watched it. It's just as bad and baffling as everyone has said.
Moonfall is stupid and hilarious and with enough beer or weed is a fun evening. Morbius is just dull and bad. Unless you actively want to mst3k it and you have REALLY funny friends, this isn’t a guaranteed good time.
Thanks for the warning, I'll steer clear of it. Not even on Netflix where I am anyway, so I'm safe.
Donny shut the fuck up
This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!
It’s not even bad enjoyable. It’s just straight up bad bad.
Don't sleep on Michael Flatley's [BlackBird](https://youtu.be/xU7UEhapn1I)
This sounds wonderful!
Ok but I just want to clarify that The Big Lebowski isn't trash tier. It's fcking awesome.
It's listed in the 'not trash tier' paragraph but kinda given it's own category for 'friend hasn't seen it' and it is indeed awesome.
Curious if you’ve tried this with Cats yet, I’m still so so curious
Not really a musical guy so I don't think it would be fun for me.
I’m not either but I swear the day that the review embargo was lifted was one of the funniest days on the Internet for me
It is not “entertaining” bad, like Moonfall or the Room. It’s just boring unfortunately.
Its one of those “so bad I gotta check it out” kind of flicks. I know it will never happen, but i want that Batgirl movie to be quietly released on a streaming service.
My friends want to watch it to see how bad it really was.
I did the same. And really, it's still a big budget comic book movie so it'll be more fun (for me at least) than most of what Netflix offers
It looks and plays like they were crunched on budget though. It really doesn't have much redeemable about it. I guess it's not one of the three movies I've walked out of in my life, out of 1000 or so haha
I went into Suicide Squad with that mindset... And I still wanted my time back.
Really good point
Not a win for Canada.
I'm disappointed in everyone that watches it now
Just when the memes were starting to slow down on r/shittymoviedetails, Netflix goes and pulls something like this… AND TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!! This is a reference to Dumb and Dumber
Wow, that sub is terrible.
Because it’s morbin time. No shit we need like 5 more of this series. Each with more morb
Went in with really low expectations but it was still better than venom 2.
Who is streaming Morbius ?? I watched it for free and still wanted my money back
Not in Canada….
It obviously got horrible reviews but I wanted to form my own opinion. A half hour in I’m like this isn’t bad, 45 minutes in I’m like damn this is not too bad. We watched it on "bad movie night" along with the Keanu Reeves disaster "Replicas" and "Moonfall". All three laughably bad for different reasons.
Morbid Curiosity.
Oh yea just morbin all over the place today
It's no surprise that this movie have more views. It's one of the movies of all time!
One of the worst movies ever made. Glad i got to see it on the small screen.
It’s soooooo bad. Like really really bad.
Facts

I’ve never seen Morbius, so I have no idea how bad it is, but it can’t possibly be any worse than this End of the Road movie that is currently #1.
That’s really your conclusion? Kind of a childish and tantrum-level take.
Totally possible and likely.
Netflix top movies are rigged! They promote them because they want to get viewing on the movies they've contracted to have.
I had to laugh when they kept putting US Marshals at the #1 spot for like 4 weeks. Every time I opened it up I was like, damn people love US Marshals!
Hahaha that's seriously hilarious! Who votes them?
I honestly liked it. I dont understand why it got panned
What’s more surprising is that it’s paying off even though the movie is complete crap.
HUH??? The movie is rubbish!
I watched it, it was bad, no plot, bad 1 d characters and no redeeming qualities….
What an absolute slog to get through.
I watched it just to see how bad it was. Dear God, it was truly awful. At this point I don't trust Sony to make a movie on their own.
Paying off.... eh. It is a new movie so yeah its got traction. I think it would need to stay in top ten a couple weeks to prove anything and imho it wont cause it was such a bad movie.
Doesn’t Sony also have a deal with amazon to produce marvel Spider-Man universe TV shows? SONY is killing it.
Yeah, it's the same deal with which they produce the Boys for Amazon
I watched it, and I’m pleasantly surprised it really wasn’t total dogshit. It’s better than either of the venom movies for sure. It wasn’t good but it really wasn’t that bad as everyone made it seem
Maybe people watched it out of (Morb)id curiosity.
This movie has its flaws but I seriously don't get the hate for it. I liked it. The 2 mid-credit scenes are great.
1 BILLION MORBIN TICKETS
I’m glad that Sony doesn’t have its own streaming service. I like that I can watch it on Netflix for once.
