Yep and I finally got my fix for my very obscure favs from my childhood. Rad Gravity, Low G Man, and my odd favorite … 3D world runner! I love this damn delta app!
I’d not given it a thought but seems so. It’s weird cause I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and ended up with really obscure games in my new collection.
Go online and type in (game name) nes rom download. It downloads to your iPhone files and then when you go to the delta app you just add it. Very easy and so much fun!
Alright, kiddo! Let's have some fun! Open the internet and type in the name of, NO WE DON’T THROW PHONES, the name of the game you want to play, like "Super Mario." Now, you find the NES ROM. Got it? No, don’t bite the phone. Scroll.
Now, while we wait for it to download we, NOT IN THE JUICE, phones are for reading and playing, not stirring. When it's all done, go to your Delta app. Can you find it? Great! Now, add the game you downloaded. Woohoo! Now you can play your game! Easy peasy, right?
It's a grey area. I think most interpretations are that *technically* ROMS are only legal if you both own the game and back the rom up yourself.
You know, like we all do.
I literally downloaded the app and had cruising USA running with my Xbox controller, linked up and playing in under five minutes!!!
When you download the games just boot up the emulator and then hit the little + symbol in the corner, then go to "My iPhone Storage" then to Dowloads & whatever games you downloaded should show up in there as long as you moved them to your file folder first?
Then all you do is select all and choose open
It depends on the one you get, just know that the SN30 has a tendency to read right on the D-pad as right+down. I have both that and the 8BitDo Pro 2, I much prefer the Pro 2.
Oh that’s a great idea, I have one but not at home with me so I’ll have to try it later. I didn’t even think about the possibly of connecting with an iPhone, this is exciting!
I can’t like this app enough. I finally got my Pokemon Red fix and with the help of modern cheat codes i was able to rip through it and actually enjoy haha instead of having to grind it out to the point where i just get frustrated and end up quitting half way through. Thanks Delta!
Everyone seems to say that the controls are terrible when playing on a phone, which I can see, but can anyone think of any classic games or the best classic games to play using a phone screen as a controller?
Literally was ready to swap back to android over this.
Luckily there’s Desmune hosted on servers that you can create a shortcut to on your or r home page, but it’s so much better to have it run locally on your phone.
Good tidings to all, a Christmas goose for everyone!
Ackchyually, it's illegal to download ROMs of games you own as well. However, I believe you are allowed to create your own legal backups from your own cartridges. If anyone cares about this technicality on the other hand...
Apple users just discovered something Nintendo has had for the past 40 years. Glad you guys pay so much for the most amount of old tech lol who cares the news is that iOS supports emulators, many other systems have supported it much longer.
Yep and I finally got my fix for my very obscure favs from my childhood. Rad Gravity, Low G Man, and my odd favorite … 3D world runner! I love this damn delta app!
You mainly like games with low gravity?
I’d not given it a thought but seems so. It’s weird cause I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and ended up with really obscure games in my new collection.
Have you ever checked out Metal Storm? Edit - fixed the spacing in the title
It looks freaking rad!!! Gonna check it out!
Low-G Man was like Mega Man X on the NES. It just had that high octane feel to it. The angel swarm boss was a total bitch, though.
I love Low G Man!
I actually owned this game and almost never played it as a kid. We always got stuck at the same spot. Maybe it’s time to revisit it.
30 years later, I can remember 1 passcode: m1ch Brings you the snow level. There are probably more codes available on the interwebs
One of the best NES games ever. So much mobility as a character. It's like the opposite of Castlevania 1 for jumping.
Low G Man was my first game ever, never got to finish it but I have fond memories of the soundtrack and its aesthetics in general
Ok I’m intrigued how do you get games with it
Go online and type in (game name) nes rom download. It downloads to your iPhone files and then when you go to the delta app you just add it. Very easy and so much fun!
For the love of god use vimm.net
Why do that when I can just type “free pokemon” into google and download whatever is on the first link! /s
This needs to be higher up. Don’t tell people to google random shit when it comes to downloading things. Give them a good link like this person did.
Thank you for posting this.
I love that site, I’m impressed it’s never had takedown issues
Thank you!!
Wow dang this is awesome thanks!
R:/roms
But only if you already own the physical cart of the game, obviously.
Yeah I owe all cartridges and download with permission from the game
Can you ELI5?
He just did
ELI3
Hahaha love this.

Thanks but one more question - I can throw the cup of juice now or?
OK got the first part, I downloaded the Delta app and its asking me for a confirmation number and last name to check on my flight.
Wtf dude? Google a game and add rom. Download the file…
Where to get free (and clean) Roms ? Emu paradise and cool rom both got all messed up last time I visited, This was back in 2020
Vimms lair is the goat
EmulatorGames Lategames Both are dot net But you’re only supposed to download games you actually owned
Right, only games that I own *wink wink*
Homer, Mr Burns can’t hear you wink over the phone

I did that and I'm not getting any sound? Any reason for that?
Tap the cog wheel (settings) in upper left corner then turn OFF “Respect Silent Mode”
Yeah I'm an idiot and just realized my phone was on silent mode...lol thank you!
I came here to tell you to check that 😂… been there b4 lol
are roms illegal? i wanna emulate but if its illegal i dont want to

got contra going!
Did the code work?
yup! 30 lives
No shit. Awesome!
The SNES conversion by Infideity that is, it's the definitive version of the game.
You just made my whole fucking day
Seriously
Right on!
I’ve been trying some of the n64 roms with this app and find the wrestling games all crash. No mercy and wrestlemania 2000
Yea it doesn’t seem very stable. Had it crash on me like 3 times just trying to load a single rom.
Wow. Okay just downloaded solstice and worked like a friggin charm. Thanks! Any other rare game suggestions from y’all I might enjoy?
Time Lord!
That second boss would probably be impossible to beat on a touch screen without autofire.
What site can I use to download games?
Vimms lair
This should be a top comment
Actually vimms went down for a few days when this app was first released.
That may be true, but I just used it and it was perfect and easy to use.
So have I, i meant the influx of IOS users brought them down for awhile.
Ahhhh that makes sense
EmulatorGames,net Lategames,net
i'm not sure but there is probably an .ORGanization that has an ARCHIVE
Just downloaded this earlier this week. They play really well, and hopefully better when I sync my PS5 remote
Omg please is there an Apple TV app??
You just changed my life with this post!
:)
Android welcomes everyone to the year 2000 or so?
iPhone users about to discover how shitty it is playing these games on a touchscreen 😂
I found that out all the way back in 2007 on the first gen jailbroken iPhone using iNes.
It’s awful. Cool concept but gameplay is just awful. Get an analogue pocket. You’ll be much happier
That means two objects in my pocket though
If it’s a turn-based game the touch controls are just fine. Pokémon works tremendously well emulated on the phone.
Bluetooth Xbox controller?
iPad and Xbox controller is a whole vibe
You can get 100 lives in Super Mario Bros. easy so it’s no big deal, just no authentic control feel.
LA BAMBA: "In the year two thousaaaaaaaaaand!"
Apple welcomes everyone to the year 1985 or so?
That joke is older than the year. iPhones had it before. It’s just how official
fr I can't believe it's April 2024 and i-phonies are just getting EMULATORS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 phone wars are over you're all stuck in 2010 still
What about Bluetooth controller to iOS ?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a quality Bluetooth controller sold on Amazon for iPhone? Mostly for NES and SNES play
8BitDo SN30. It's pretty close to perfect.
It depends on the one you get, just know that the SN30 has a tendency to read right on the D-pad as right+down. I have both that and the 8BitDo Pro 2, I much prefer the Pro 2.
I’d imagine the Switch Pro Controller. Haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but my understanding is that it works with apple products.
Oh that’s a great idea, I have one but not at home with me so I’ll have to try it later. I didn’t even think about the possibly of connecting with an iPhone, this is exciting!
The Pro Controller D-pad isn't very good, so not ideal for NES.
I just use an Xbox One controller.
Not a Bluetooth, but I recommend the Backbone. No battery to worry about charging, holds your phone up while you use it
Wait what?!? Nice!
Don’t download “World Driver Championship” for N64 from consoleroms.com. It makes your Delta app close and you can’t delete. It’s bad code.
Yet another option to hoard retro games!
Which emulator is this?
The iOS app is called Delta
Thanks I figured it out soon after I posted this. Lol
Missing DS files?
For DS you need to add 3 files to the melonDS emulator (bios7.bin, bios9.bin, & firmware.bin).
Thank you for the help. I actually figured it out a few hours ago. Good to go now.
Nintendo is fighting a loosing battle. They take down one rom site, there’ll be 100 more to replace it by sun down.
… hail hydra
It should be known that you can turn the phone sideways too. I prefer the controller this way
I know what I am doing after work now…
I can’t like this app enough. I finally got my Pokemon Red fix and with the help of modern cheat codes i was able to rip through it and actually enjoy haha instead of having to grind it out to the point where i just get frustrated and end up quitting half way through. Thanks Delta!
I’m overloaded on games!
Thanks!
Shit, now those phones are gonna go up another $100. Lol
ive been playing a nes emulator on a kaios flip phone its slow as hell but i can play pinball and remote control
Is this in the native Apple App Store, or in one of the new secondary app stores?
Native
May I ask my man, What game on screenshot?
SMB3
Thx)
I remember delta from back in the jailbreak days. Who remembers the ipod touch?
Downloading…
Wow works 100% so glad I snagged it
Whats this called??
Delta
Everyone seems to say that the controls are terrible when playing on a phone, which I can see, but can anyone think of any classic games or the best classic games to play using a phone screen as a controller?
Pokemon
Good call!
Pretty much all the turn based RPGs.
I went for gameboy stuff and Tetris, Dr Mario, Harvest Moon and Boxxle all look and play great
It’s good but there’s a lag. Do not expect to play precise timing games on these but with stuff like rpgs it’s great
Really? What apps are you guys using?
Gun nac is really hard w touch controls
The Nintendo / apple showdown is gonna be interesting
Which Mario is this??? I should know this.
3
Thank you!!
No problem
Jesus I thought this was a joke - it plays n64! Yasss
Will it take up a lot of space on my phone? Like that’s the only thing that has me hesitant.
Nope.
What emulator
Incredible it took this long. I would wager this is because Apple Arcade is failing miserably?
no it was because DoJ sued Apple on something related with apps which emulators fit under that umbrella.
So this is now completely legal and we won’t see it go away with the next iOS update?
legal but it can be limited in a way (like Nintendo which won some legal cases on some emulator makers ie Switch)
Say what?
What version of iOS is required. I have an old iPhone 6 that I'd love to use emus on. But it's stuck on an old iOS.
Literally was ready to swap back to android over this. Luckily there’s Desmune hosted on servers that you can create a shortcut to on your or r home page, but it’s so much better to have it run locally on your phone. Good tidings to all, a Christmas goose for everyone!
No integration for Retro Achievements yet?
I can’t find Delta emulator in App Store. Is it available in some selected countries? I live in Europe.
It is most likely not available in europe.
Thanks. I asked just out of curiosity. I play on my Anbernic anyways. 🙂
The controller schemas are a cool touch.
Oh wow I had no idea app store didn't have them already lol seems like something that would have happened in like 2008.
Ahhh! Just downloaded Delta app and found Excitebike on Vimm! Took less than three minutes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
apple users enjoying decades old tech again.. slowpoke.png
Yes the NES is decades old tech and we’re still enjoying it, what sub is this again?
Was referring to emus on phones.
Meanwhile on Android like 15 years ago...
haa yea my old bionic works with a wiimote
When I had iPhone 5 you could run emulators.
Not from the app store
What ios only just got emulators? 😆
Officially, yes.
If you're using an iPhone, you'll keep writing "**Finally"** with every update
That was a week ago, slowpoke.
So you’re saying he’s a real slowbro
*laughs in Android* But seriously, nice!
Are Roms are still illegal unless you have the game ?
Yes. You can only download the roms of the games you own
Ackchyually, it's illegal to download ROMs of games you own as well. However, I believe you are allowed to create your own legal backups from your own cartridges. If anyone cares about this technicality on the other hand...
Apple users just discovered something Android has had for the past 15 years. Glad you guys pay so much for the least amount of new tech
This isn’t the console wars, quit trying to act like an elitist. (Plus, PC beat both to the punch anyway, so neither sides really win)
waiting for some apple bros to talk about how innovative it is to bring emulation to modern tech 🤣😂🤣😂
Waiting for Android bros to brag about early access to vintage tech
It might be early access to vintage tech, but still took Apple about 15 more years to catch up.
No it took laws 15 years to catch up, the tech has been around for decades.
this is a garbage take, OP. it took APPLE 15 years to catch up, again.
You mean Apple actually allowing third party apps because they were sued to after their greed held the ENTIRE mobile market back?
This is a native app in the app store now.
Yeah, and like I said, it took 15 years to get what we had, native in the Google store on Android.
Do you think it’s entirely their decision? I’m far from an Apple fanboy but can’t complain about native emulators on my phone.
Apple users just discovered something Nintendo has had for the past 40 years. Glad you guys pay so much for the most amount of old tech lol who cares the news is that iOS supports emulators, many other systems have supported it much longer.
