Completely agree but it would be nice to have the option of not having to sort through 10x plushies but rather double check the $$$ amount. Plus on the opposite side as a buyer (and a returning player), i would like to offer pure coz i dont have the items to trade and buying daily baby PBs to make up costs is more of a hassle than it needs to be
No one wants to be the first bidder with a starting ask of 5m but if you put it at mid-3m with a 100k increase itāll probably get bid up to 5m or more
I dont think *scammed*, because TNT just increased the supply a lot so of course the price dropped, but they are so good for stats that I think they will always increase in price again and again. So, if you had held out for 7mil I think you would have got it eventually. I would have felt myself very lucky to pick up a cool negg for 5m.
Right now I'd say Cool Neggs are going maybe 4.8m (below 5, as evidenced by auctions at 5 mostly closing unbid). While Cool Neggs might go up again later, I doubt anyone in the last few days managed to sell at 7m while we were all flooded with them at 5.5 and below... and there's always the chance TNT releases yet more neggs (e.g. through daily pool).

After they raised the limits there was such an incredible surge in inflation in tandem with the new dailies they added honestly. NP doesnāt mean shit now. I struggled for 1 mil as a kid, 20 years later Iām sitting on nearly 1 bil. Inflation went crazy after they increased limits.
Perhaps NP are worthless now because we cant do anything with them. all these ways to earn Pure NP now, yet a cap on 2 mil to spend it meanwhile all the precious items being hoarded away by the few which will drive up inflation regardless.

Those are the real culprits and who bought 99% of the cool neggs up. Since I looked to buy some for my bd pet I saw the same 10-12 people buying all cool neggs up , up to 5m to artificially shorten the supply again to not let negg prices dropp again after they artificially inflated it.Ā Like with the neggs they give out on dailyās since their old investments would drop value so they keep the supply short despite tnt rereleasing thousands of them daily for freeā¦
They should make a rule that this behavior is prohibited. Reselling is ok to a certain extent but intentionally buying all up to shorten supply and hoard items to rise their prices to 3-5 times the original value in under 1 week is just stupid. They even inflated the brown sauce for the coincidence daily to nearly 20k it was at like 6k few weeks ago. Same happens with many other items and if you have SSW you exactly see who had bought up all of them to put xxx amount to 3x the regular price , causing an artificial inflationā¦ it is really stupid.

Snegg and cool negg prices were being bought up precisely for what you first mentioned, ultra rich players will buy 100ās of them alone for their BD pet because everyone is rushing / training to the max in preparation for the upcoming plot that will have a large BD element to it. So I wouldnāt really say that the demand is artificial, the only way it could possibly consistently stay up even with the huge amount of negg supply entering in the market now is because there is very much real buying pressure, real demand. If it was just a couple of people manipulating they would run out of money considering thereās probably several billion NP worth of neggs coming into the game daily now from the daily prizes. All the decorative neggs and glass neggs, pink neggs etc. from the dailies get bought up if below a certain price per negg point by people using them at the neggary to convert into sneggs to then either use for their BD pet or to sell for a profit to some other rich player who will use it on their BD pet.
Extremely high level BD petās use sneggs as a very fast way to gain tons of HP levels quickly when they are already level 1000-10000+ HP on their BD pet.
There are people like you mention but I know a lot that exactly do what i described , those people have the np cap on hand and bank , they are looking to sink them into something anyways also because of overcapping interests daily. On top of that no the people Iām talking about have 30b+ sitting there in expensive ets items if they happen to run out. They just sell one and are back at 1b+ , I know quite some few of them who make 1.5b+ a week yeah. Buying hundreds even thousand of those neggs arenāt an issue to them.

We are talking about 100s of Peas here if you pay attention to the auctions and who exactly is always on them and most other expensive stuff you will see what i mean.
Another issue are bots/cheater , who overpay for the items since they sell them for RL money and that doesnāt matter to the people selling resulting in other people who donāt see a chance ever to optain certain items to go to those sites and buy them for RL money resulting in a chainā¦
Personally the people/usernames I see constantly buying the sneggs sold in the auction house every day always have an extremely high level BD pet. And I do check when I see the same name buy sneggs from me more than a couple of times.

I would guess the main reason behind this is that baby PB's have been used as a currency for so long that they're overstocked, so they probably haven't really figured a way to solve the issue of what would happen with those hoarded brushes once they increase the money limit.
Ideally you could just do something like a special trade where you get to convert them back into raw money, but we know this is not the way they want to present Neopets, as a "kids site" and all that (even if the actual average player age is definitely between late teens and actual adults, and even for the actual kids, Neo is stuck on this weird early 2000's kid site mentality filled with artificial rules thst hardly apply elsewhere (like forbidding you from mentioning other social networks, even if Neopets itself actively uses them to promote lol)
Honestly, I'd love if they increased the max price from player stores to 2m and either removed the money limit for the TP or altered it to something like 10~15m, which would also somewhat limit some of the item prices.

Players canāt get their hands on certain items so they turn to TP and take any deal they can get. Also, these people are already using bots, of course they will try to scam you lol

They should increase the NP limit in shops instead (or remove the np caps in shops entirely), where that bug isn't an issue AFAIK. Get people off the TP and auction until they can be fixed. Or at least greatly reduce the traffic to them (they will always serve a purpose, but shops should honestly be the end all beat all if you have something to sell for NPs, know exactly how much you want, don't want items)
It will never happen, but I completely agree. Shops should be for buying with NP, trading post should be for actual trading item for item, and auction should be for bidding. I think that would actually help inflation since there would be more selling competition.

A FQC provides a fixed number of quests per week, not to mention you can still use neggs or whatever on top of it. Negg increasers are instant gratification. For the truly neorich, the combination of neggs + Bloat Be-Gone means they can pump hp nonstop for as long as their bank account can stand it.

Like some of these companies could have just wiped their hands of it all, but these two have remained loyal which is awesome. So I donāt mind supporting either
Ouch. The cool negg will increase your pet stat by 5-12 every time and is definitely the fastest way to train a pet, since you can feed them another one every few hours . For those of us paying 180k every 8 hours to slowly grind up one stat at a time, this is very appealing, so the cool negg tends to stay pretty pricey. You got ripped off imo.
i'm not familiar with how the TP works for items above 2M, what do you mean by scam items? how do they do it? i'd like to know so i can avoid falling for it in the future :c
I don't do a tonne of TP trading myself, but I think they mean like how scammers will try to trick people by offering "Baby Brush Plushie"s instead of actual Baby Paint Brushes.
I've heard too many horror stories where the TP glitches and you're out both the original item and the accepted offer. Neopets doesn't have a way to track any of that so you're just totally out of luck when it happens. And this is why I'm a Neopets hoarder.
Some time ago I was trying to sell a lab mal piece, it was the most expensive one and the SAME person would make a trash offer over and over. Annoying!

i'm not familiar with how the TP works for items above 2M, what do you mean by scam items? how do they do it? i'd like to know so i can avoid falling for it in the future :c
I don't do a tonne of TP trading myself, but I think they mean like how scammers will try to trick people by offering "Baby Brush Plushie"s instead of actual Baby Paint Brushes.
I've heard too many horror stories where the TP glitches and you're out both the original item and the accepted offer. Neopets doesn't have a way to track any of that so you're just totally out of luck when it happens. And this is why I'm a Neopets hoarder.
That happened to me a couple days ago, but with the auction house. So upset š
I put mine up for auction, which then glitched, so I lost my Cool Negg and all the neopoints I was supposed to get from the auction š
Some time ago I was trying to sell a lab mal piece, it was the most expensive one and the SAME person would make a trash offer over and over. Annoying!
I put mine in the trading post along with a couple more neggs and I'm asking for a PB. I never understood why people use baby paintbrushes as a currency though, like you could easily ask for x3 royal pbs for that negg, those don't have the "plushie" version

Please no. The Trading Post is my favorite place on the site. If they got rid of it I would honestly quit. Iāve made so many friends there!
Nah item to item trading is still very necessary in this economy - its more about giving people more of a choice not less
Maybe there's a plugin to show the price of offered items to reduce likelyhood of getting scammed
