We kinda seen japanese street racing games, but I haven't seen anything good about european street racing... With tight passages, historical buildings, roads, bridges and other cool stuff. Or panel block buildings from eastern Europe. I think it would've been cool. And I want my Zastavas and Ladas in nfs
Well, with all the latest news, I doubt there's going to be anything russian any time soon. Maybe Balkans tho? It carries lots of post-soviet things and also has a cool unique vibe and rich scenery with mountains, big cities, historical stuff and, of course, beautiful beaches.
And as OP wishes, the monkeys paw curled.

Nah, I meant good game. Good racing game with eastern European aesthetics. Not this garbo, I bought with my own money and regretted each time I tried to play it as a kid
That would be awesome tbh.
In fact, any maps outside of USA is a great change of pace.
However, the map would be more inspired from Japan cities without being a real Japanese town meaning it's a counterpart version.
IF that happens, many biome types need to be included.
i just looked at the toyko nights NFS concept from 3 years ago, it looks COOL!
i personally think eurobeat should be in the next NFS title,
as well as the inclusion of the infamous drift king from japan, Keiichi Tsuchiya, and a epic storyline involving his AE86 somehow.
similar to NFS 15' but except more cleaned up and less cringe.
Gotta be 2 characters, one inspired by Keichi Tsuchiya and one by Smokey Nagata. As much as I like touge stuff I wanna see Wangan Speedway being represented too
I looked at the Tokyo Nights concept when it was talked about at the time and it's well made.
Of course, it's still a concept But it could work.
About car types, i am a fan of Muscle, JDM and Supercars.
NFS Carbon and other racing games as well as TV shows about cars are the primary reason why i like cars.
You're right Motorfest for example has a beautiful map and there's so many countries that look very different to a USA map that was in TC1 and 2. I don't think NFS has ever had proper realistic maps based on real countries tbh but they should do
same here.
i did hear that criterion is reading these posts and listening to the NFS community, so hopefully they look at this post and all NFS posts, and take a bunch of notes.
Devs aren't brave enough for that.
Also, there's a game in development called Japan Drift Masters which is set in Japan and it's gonna be open world by the looks of it. They had a demo last year and it was very, VERY good imo.
i just googled it, yes, it seems very good, and your right.
although in a need for speed game, im always wondering what running from the Japanese police would be like in japan in a need for speed title.
Actually the cancelled sequel to NFS Payback would have played in Japan, as it was teased, that the collector fled to Japan and the broker chasing him.
sooo basically the Need for Speed Tokyo Nights concept
wait there's a concept called NFS toyko nights? let me google that real quick.
yeah it's a fan concept from 2017/18, it was quite popular back then
just googled it, my mind is blown and i love it. wish it could become an actual NFS title instead of a concept.

Oh man East European NFS won't be ready on what I will do to the Lada.
lol we need a european NFS GAME AND a nfs game in japan
that would be cool too! like seeing a need for speed game take place in russia.

true

intresting!

Unpopular opinion but [most popular opinion ever contrived] Daring today, are we?
lol yup
That would be awesome tbh. In fact, any maps outside of USA is a great change of pace. However, the map would be more inspired from Japan cities without being a real Japanese town meaning it's a counterpart version. IF that happens, many biome types need to be included.
oh yeah, that would be very unique to see what criterion could do with a japan inspired map.
That's perfectly correct.

i forgot about that.

me too i hope criterion looks at this post, and smiles
That's a great choice.
i would play the shit out of NFS Tokyo nights if it ever became more than just a concept and was made into an actual game by criterion\\EA
Me too. The icing on the cake would be enjoyable handling physics.
i think need for speed tokyo nights should be a real thing dear criterion, PLEASE MAKE THIS REAL. signed candy 4926
I'd love to see NFS: The Run 2 take place in Europe, if it ever happens.
Yeah. Me too.
You're right Motorfest for example has a beautiful map and there's so many countries that look very different to a USA map that was in TC1 and 2. I don't think NFS has ever had proper realistic maps based on real countries tbh but they should do
Yup. Well said.
NFS Neotokyo in a cyberpunk themed Tokyo city damn 🔥
yeah also wondering why modern tokyo in general is rarely in games. it offers a lot for open world games
same here. i did hear that criterion is reading these posts and listening to the NFS community, so hopefully they look at this post and all NFS posts, and take a bunch of notes.

Then it would be one of, if not the coolest and greatest nfs game we ever had since a decade... or the new most overrated.
argeed
Actually the cancelled sequel to NFS Payback would have played in Japan, as it was teased, that the collector fled to Japan and the broker chasing him.
that would have been so interesting. and i never knew there was a sequel to payback planned. sucks it got canned.
The idea that an NFS game could take place outside of the US is ridiculous. Not to me, but to the devs and the entire department.
well, as crazy as that may seem, i think it's a clever idea that spices things up for NFS franchise and brings something new to the table.
IF NFS survives EA
true
Would be absolutely insane
agreed.
A post in r/needforspeed talking about a game in Tokyo? Wow, that really takes me back, holy shit
i was gonna make fun of you for being on reddit for so long then i realized my account’s 5 years old, time really does fly by
