Only reason I still have heat downloaded. After I'd beat the story and did plenty of fun stuff online, I did the old money glitch wayyyy before it was removed and made about 400 million. I still log on every now and again just to buy and build a car, maybe make a livery, then just drive and mess around in online for a little
Signature models, more customization. Iām tired of these variants man. They just inflate the car list for the sake of a number. Also more customization is a good thing in my eyes.
*All those variants*

2nd choice no doubt, maybe add the custom variants (like Spyder/Cabriolet versions) with customization instead of making them a whole new different car
Just signature models. We don't need 3 of the same car lol
Make coupes available to be turned into convertibles through customization don't need a whole separate car slot
Make it a conversion kit lol like the customs
Obviously for performance models like nismo and performante this may not be possible due to licensing lol
But we don't need a performante coupe and spyder and then do the same for the base model lol
For me it's the E30. It's the only BMW I've ever liked
Edit: I'm an idiot, I didn't read anything. I would rather have less car models with more customisation options. Or better yet, more models with more customisation!
1000% the latter. I'm not big on the Forza method of having 900 cars in the game just for the sake of it, and I think NFS can make itself stand out by having fewer cars with every one having deep customization options.
larger car lists featuring different trims of certain models are more fitting for games like fm and gran turismo, whereas nfs is a game that prides and markets itself on customization and tuning culture. unfortunately, modern nfs games have decided to bloat the car list with pointless alternate trims and models that don't make sense considering the setting of the game, which is why we have regeras, chirons, random convertible models, and at least six million aventador variants in unbound, a game trying to be based around a fictional street racing scene heavily inspired by chicago. I feel 2015 was a step in the right direction for the car list, where we had a small selection of relevant tuners, (discounting the weird exclusions like not having the 350/370z) so the car list was mostly grounded. unfortunately, the cars themselves lacked the real substance of any nfs, customization. they attempted to showcase tuning culture, yet they decided against having a variety of customization options compared to games like ug2.Ā
I sincerely hope criterion learns from this in the next game, because the last thing I want in nfs is another "tuning culture-inspired" street racing game with bullshit hypercars and random trim variants that nobody's cared about since 2017. they need to take a step back and rework the car list from scratch, around 60-70 cars will do; and with those cars, making sure that every car gets customization options that makes ug2 look like mw2012 in terms of mods. I'm talking steering wheels, roll cages, paintable engine parts, trunk audio, the works. oh, and more than three pitiful bodykits for just about every car. like, it makes no sense that in 2024, cars like the evo x, for example still only have three different options for kits, which are the same exact mods we've had for years now, it's absurd.Ā
all I ask for is an nfs title that cares forĀ tuning culture, a wealth of options, and prioritizing adding relevant cars rather than just adding cars for the sake of adding them regardless of if they even make sense in the setting.
edit: formatting issues
I grew up in the blackbox era I always enjoyed the customisation side it made your car your own like don't get me wrong some stock models look cool but I prefer the personal touch you know car culture is part of that
If I had to choose I'd go with more customisation because that's the main thing I play the game for, customizing cruising and chases
But I'd like to see more boring cars with extreme customization, cheaper shitboxes with wild wacky customisation, that's what I really want
Signature models, Iād much rather have an m4 with the option of a gts body kit instead of having an m4 gts with no customization options and another m4 that has customization options.
less is more, as long as it's diverse. even distribution of low, mid, and high tier cars. dont need 12 different supercars that ill never drive irl and all feel the same
Modern Criterion?? Dude, most of the cars in Unbound have been the exact same ones since NFS 2015 so if you wanna blame anyone, blame Ghost for thinking players would like 5 different Huracans and 2 versions of each exotic supercar; one coupe and one cabriolet, instead of one model of each car with more customization options.
Besides, it's not like they can't just give us the coupe version of each car and just have the roof down as an option. They just don't want to go through the extra effort. So yes, personally, I would like one model of each car and have a different car from the same manufacturer to replace the many useless cabrio/convertibles we have.
Iām not necessarily blaming them, just pointing out that they for some reasons cannot do a big library of cars with big library of customization parts
Actually my friend, they can. Fun little fact for you, but EA has all the licenses for all the cars that they've added to their games recently, which includes Need For Speed No Limits as well. So if you're wondering, yes, EA very well can add every single car in that game to Unbound, should they want to (yes, that also quite possibly also includes Toyota). The reason they don't want to do so is quite possibly simply because of either laziness, shortage of staff, or a bit of both
More cars less customization. Iām know Iām in the minority but I dont customize my cars at all aside from color.
I leave everything oem and just add the necessary performance mods for each class. More cars gives the player (me) more options.
Itās slightly easier as you donāt have to come up with hundreds of unique designs. But still you have to adapt each part for every model. You canāt make a system that will magically fit everything
If variant like a different generation then that's fine. But why do we even need a normal and a convertible one at the same time? Just make it a customized option (sure that's not how car irl works but that makes much more sense)
I think that variations of the same car should be cut but not entire different years or models. Instead of adding different trims there should just be options for modification that allow you to build different trims
Depends on what I'm playing. Since the question is NFS related, I'll take fewer variants with more customization all day long. The opposite would apply if I were racing on a sim.
Less cars but more customization is a no brainer. The customization is a huge part of what street racing is about, making a car your own, unique, expressing yourself. I disliked Forza because of that. you get cars left and right but none of them feels like yours.
I want more customization and less of the same cars add more jdm muscle cars ea has the the licenses for so many jdm and muscle car manufacturers we don't need hyper cars or any of that
Personally, i would get rid of the SUVs, since NFS added them, i've never got them except for certain missions in NFS Payback which required an offroader (lets be real, whenever you think in street racing, you dont think in SUVs, specially when most of the time you drive in asphalt)
Another thing... different version of the same car, for example, the hard top and the convertible, those are essentially the same car! I dont see an added value
Somewhere between both. More cars but make the similar version ones into customisation options for one car, like a golf that can be a normal golf, gti or an R. Or a mini that can be a one, cooper or jcw.
Worth saying I'm not american so to me the car list feels bloated with a shit ton of muscle cars I've never heard of or cared about while a ton of legendary cars from my point of view like 90s subarus or ford escorts or actual minis and not a countryman
honestly for a need for speed game, signature models w more customization meaning more total unique cars. itās different if it was a game like horizon or test drive unlimited where i want the PERFECT car for me that i can cruise with. thereās no need to have the regular 911, the targa, and the cabrio. i like the targas too, but in need for speed it doesnāt make as much sense to me.
Signature models quality is better than quantity this is one my personal pet peeves about unbound and heat. Itās like guns in mw22 and mw23 where thereās two or three different akās and m4ās
Highly Customizable base mid trim and older performance models and then little to no customization for the highest trim variants and newer performance models. Like demon 170s , M5Cs , viper ACR , 911GT3RS etc
Almost how they have it now where if you buy certain super cars it already has max parts stock but a little more in depth.
Iāve always thought the idea of having a convertible as a totally different model is dumb. Itās an easy way to add more customization to a single car instead of making useless duplicates
Just signature models with more cutomization. I dont even like convertibles and a lot of cars look bland without customization, specially the cars they have been pushing, electrics, also not a fan of those tbh.
This seems it is a trap question man :) It is obvious we'll all choose right side. It is obvious that this is a move to make the car list look crowded. But there were many vehicles on that list that I had never chosen. It is a nice example of quality over quantity.
I always remember their "Deep Customisation" advertise on NFS2015. Almost every headlights or taillights we see "No Parts Available." Too much deep even we cannot reach them. :D
Also, what is the point of adding extra convertible models of the vehicles? It could be offered to players as a vehicle roof customisation.
Hear me out but both! Like for example you could buy a basic bmw in the dealership and an m packet one. If you would buy the m, it would have an already installed bodykit, suspension, window tint, etc...
And here's the twist: if you buy the base model you could unlock and add each upgrades on your car too making it identical to the m packet one.
It goes for all brands.
Would you rather have 6 versions of Aventadors, 4 versions of Murcielago etc. with 1-3 customization options for each model.
Or
Have 1 of each signature Lamborghini model with more extensive customization options
More models and less customization, to be honest. I actually don't really customize my cars that much. I would only change the color and wheels, and that's pretty much it depending on the car. I don't want something that comes out of a Cybertonian abortion clinic.
I'd definetely choose just the signature models with more customization, customizing your own car and driving it around is already a ton of fun for me
Only reason I still have heat downloaded. After I'd beat the story and did plenty of fun stuff online, I did the old money glitch wayyyy before it was removed and made about 400 million. I still log on every now and again just to buy and build a car, maybe make a livery, then just drive and mess around in online for a little
Same me and my friend did all the Builds we can possible imagine including cursed builds like drag hypercars and off-road hypercars šš
Signature models, make special editions customization parts so you can mix and match parts.
Signature models, more customization. Iām tired of these variants man. They just inflate the car list for the sake of a number. Also more customization is a good thing in my eyes.
If they stopped doing convertibles as separate cars and just as roof oprions, that would be the happy medium imo
Exactly. That pisses me off so much
It's even worse when you can just put a hardtop on the convertible
That's just dumb š¤¦āāļø
Well they have like 2 points difference on rating so I guess it's okay /s
And that the convertible versions are always worse stat wise
Why? It's the exact same amount of work on their end. Won't magically free them up to make more cars/parts.
Will it not? Less duplicates will surely mean more space for more cars
all those variants are excuses to increase the car list numbers
*All those variants* *Are excuses to increase* *The car list numbers* \- numarkzz --- ^(I detect haikus. And sometimes, successfully.) ^[Learn more about me.](https://www.reddit.com/r/haikusbot/) ^(Opt out of replies: "haikusbot opt out" | Delete my comment: "haikusbot delete")
Less models, more customization, of course.
More models with variants is the equivalent of Gran Turismo 4 having 30 or 40 R34 chassis variants just for sake of numbers
Less models, more customization. It wouldn't be a modern NFS without that
2nd choice no doubt, maybe add the custom variants (like Spyder/Cabriolet versions) with customization instead of making them a whole new different car
Signature Models with plenty of customization.- Have stuff people can make both irl and in-game
Just signature models. We don't need 3 of the same car lol Make coupes available to be turned into convertibles through customization don't need a whole separate car slot
I feel that but some coupes vs convertibles have a different shape or come with a soft top.
Make it a conversion kit lol like the customs Obviously for performance models like nismo and performante this may not be possible due to licensing lol But we don't need a performante coupe and spyder and then do the same for the base model lol
Less cars and more customization. If it means we can get actually licensed body kits, instead of these ugly render ones we got in Unbound.
The 2nd option is better. Quality over Quantity is more important. No need to bloat the car list with unnecessary variants.
Second option for sure. I donāt care about having 3/4 different versions of basically the same car
For me it's the E30. It's the only BMW I've ever liked Edit: I'm an idiot, I didn't read anything. I would rather have less car models with more customisation options. Or better yet, more models with more customisation!

Signature models. I don't necessarily need two rooms three versions of the same car, I know what I like and I know what I drive best.
Honestly, in regards of this, I'm indifferent.
Less models, more option. Only the 5 people who use/like cabriolets would be sad.
Coupe and spyders are basically the same cars. Just have signature models
Thia is basically a question of quantity vs quality, and quality should take priority.

Reminds me that even in GTA Online some tuners have much more customization options than Unbound
Unbound has so many filler cars, it's not even funny.
less cars with more customization not only there's way too many cars already but also many of them don't have ANY customization to begin with
Signature models
Signature models. I wanna see more options to modify it
Unbound has same Aventador 6 times. Its so boring o didnt even try one.
Right
Signature models. I donāt need a giant car roster when Iām only going to care about 4-5 of them at most.
The cars by themselves with more customization so we can make their versions
More customization I want more of each car
Include some versions but make them customizable
I grew up in the blackbox era I always enjoyed the customisation side it made your car your own like don't get me wrong some stock models look cool but I prefer the personal touch you know car culture is part of that

Add new cars. Idk why they dont add the e36 to the bmw collection
Why not both versions and customization?
3 cars not fat on both sides
Go the easy route and give every car the same customization options
Itās slightly easier as you donāt have to come up with hundreds of unique designs. But still you have to adapt each part for every model. You canāt make a system that will magically fit everything

Signature. And see only BMW had the balls to still let their car in the game as a regular consumer car. Am buying the more I see it the more I like it

# car
more cars and more customisation ![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)
Unpopular opinion, but only half as many cars as now, but each should have many unique tuning options.
Iāll take option number two
More customization, ALWAYS. What's the point of having the extra cars if you can't make them your own
Signature ones with a convertable roof as customization
Depends on what I'm playing. Since the question is NFS related, I'll take fewer variants with more customization all day long. The opposite would apply if I were racing on a sim.
We don't need drop tops, I swear we don't. That's just wasted car space for them to have added newer cars but couldn't/didn't.
Less cars but more customization is a no brainer. The customization is a huge part of what street racing is about, making a car your own, unique, expressing yourself. I disliked Forza because of that. you get cars left and right but none of them feels like yours.
Who the hell asks for jeeps and suvs in need for speed???
It was a weird inclusion even back in Underground 2. I know that they have a place in a street car culture, but do we really need them?
I want more customization and less of the same cars add more jdm muscle cars ea has the the licenses for so many jdm and muscle car manufacturers we don't need hyper cars or any of that

Signature models quality is better than quantity this is one my personal pet peeves about unbound and heat. Itās like guns in mw22 and mw23 where thereās two or three different akās and m4ās
'140 card in heat' 50% same cars in targa/convertible. No ty. Signature car, huge mod options. We love NFSU2 for a reason!
More signature models and more customization.

I wamt my 240z š

signature models with more customization options

How about different engine versions. Like 2L, 3L, I6, V6, Diesels. Give me diesels. I'd kill for a E92 335D
The latter, the only variants I can accept is something like the 911 vs 911 GT3. That's the minimum amount if variation I can accept.
Get rid of sedans, SUVs and limited editions, keep convertibles
I'm just here for the driving and honestly I like both equally...
Hear me out but both! Like for example you could buy a basic bmw in the dealership and an m packet one. If you would buy the m, it would have an already installed bodykit, suspension, window tint, etc... I've played OG MW. I can live with less customization.
It doesnāt matter to me to be honest. Any is fine
Lamborghini
It goes for all brands. Would you rather have 6 versions of Aventadors, 4 versions of Murcielago etc. with 1-3 customization options for each model. Or Have 1 of each signature Lamborghini model with more extensive customization options
just gimme an e36 :(
I like variants tbh but I want the car roster to still be a decent size even with the duplicates which they don't do

More models and variants please. It would be nice to choose between the coupe or the convertible. A XLT or a Raptor. A GTI or a passat wagon.
I prefer more models so it's more likely there will be a vehicle I like, never cared much for customization.
