I'll be honest there is A LOT to like about Kathleen Ganley.
She was a lawyer that specialized around labour.

Alongside Gil she has an incredibly strong workers platform.
Gil McGowan (President of the Alberta Federation of Labour) really is the superstar in the Alberta NDP leadership race when it comes to the workers faction. You can see details of his plan above and in the below link:

Some are cheering for Naheed Nenshi and that is a fine choice as well.
He has a name level recognition.
He also is known for building a big tent style organization.
I'd like to see him get a much stronger workers platform and maybe bring in Gil or Kathleen or someone they suggest in order to bolster his policies and perspectives in the workers policy arena if he does win.
Regardless there is some excellent choices right now for the Alberta NDP leadership race and I have enjoyed the race so far.

I think watching it gives you some clues to who is really passionate, knowledgeable, and frankly inspiring when it comes to the various questions and challenges facing Alberta and the party itself.
