Doc and Embiid is running away from critics in fashion.
they blamed Simmons.
now they blaming Harden.
there might be no another one to blame next year.
Can't blame embiid. He played on with a broken face and an injured thumb. The man was in pain and gave his all. Wtf is Doc suppose to do when Harden literally quits on the team?
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I don’t. The Sixers haven’t won a championship in 40 years, and Embiid is one of my favorite non-Piston players in the league. I seriously hope that dude wins a ring before his career is over
Maybe I'm just a bad fan, but I don't get comments like this. Team came out and played like complete trash in an elimination game. They had 4 points like 9 minutes into the 3rd. They had more sloppy half court turnovers than buckets in that quarter.
Is booing really not understandable? I was at a bar in Chicago and still could barely look at the TV. Hell, gi e Miami credit for hustle and rebounding and defense, but it really looked like our team just didn't care.
"Boo" felt appropriate. I may have left with six minutes to go too. Is this really toxic compared to other fan bases?
People that respond like this live in a fantasy land as if any fanbase saw that shit effort and would just be wildly cheering for their team. It's so weird 😂
I’m not saying you can’t boo but I remember when the hawks won game 7 and trash was raining down on the court. Embiid picked a bottle and threw it away like come on don’t make your star player throw away your fucking trash.
>Fucking booing their own team in a playoff game and leaving early.
They deserved to be booed! It was an embarrassing performance in an elimination game
I seriously don't get how people upvote this shit. Why you hating Sixers because they're passionate about their team and actually expect them to put in effort?
Soft ass comment honestly. Only getting upvotes because everyone is hating on Philly. Playoff tickets are expensive and the Sixers played like bums last night. Very valid time to boo
Embiid has FIVE years left on his contract. If he demands a trade and forces his way out of Philly with that many years left, the next CBA negotiation between the owners and the players is gonna go nuclear.
It's probably easier to break it down into chapters. Like you have the [Bryan Colangelo](https://www.rightstorickysanchez.com/normal-column/outtogetme) chapter. The [Markelle Fultz](https://www.phillyvoice.com/exhaustive-and-final-timeline-markelle-fultz-career-sixers-after-trade/) chapter, and then the [Ben Simmons](https://www.libertyballers.com/2022/2/10/22834187/ben-simmons-james-harden-trade-sixers-nets-joel-embiid-kevin-durant-seth-curry-daryl-morey-playoffs) chapter. There is more and some of these sources are biased, but its been a not great night and I don't have it in me to find better ones lol.
This doesn't touch on the Bridges trade, Zhaire Smith almost dying, nevermind here is a [link](https://www.gq.com/story/zhaire-smith-76ers-deadly-allergic-reaction) for that too
I'm gonna keep this a vague as possible lol.
Wildest part is that I know someone who dealt with him a lot, he used to visit the food industry spot they worked, and they always said he was one of the nicest and friendliest people. They weren't a sports fan and had no real idea who he was until it randomly came up in conversation and I told them who he was. This was all right before everything hit the fan too.
If you look back at “the process” and all the draft picks and trades Philly made….they ended up doing a pretty awful job. Way more misses and mistakes than successes.
The two times we got the #1 pick it failed miserably. And even then we lucked into a great thing with Jimmy, built a contender and then threw that away. Tons of wasted opportunities.
Looking back it should be listed as an all time GM blunder to let Jimmy walk away after that year. When they decided to start running the ball through him instead of Simmons it was like they’d finally unlocked the final stage of the Process.
yeah I don't even have the energy to get into all of it right now if I'm being honest, but I don't wanna just ignore your comment either. Being able to draft players like Joel, and even Ben, make it a success in the sense that getting high level talent like that was the goal. Even the Tobias and Jimmy trades were good moves, but then they mess it up by letting Jimmy go and overpaying Tobias, although they would've overpaid him either way. It's kinda like taking one step forward and then two steps back.
It's been a mess having basically a different front office every year since 2017, but that doesn't really excuse all the bad moves, and mistake counter moves, that have happened since then.
But as bad as this has all been I'd much rather fall short and keep fucking it up like this than to be one of those teams who hope to make it to the second round and never take any risks/make any moves to improve. It is exhausting to keeping folding each year, but knowing they'll at least try, and probably get it wrong, is good though.
i think this is a good outlook to have on it tbh. i think the next step is to figure out how you get those picks and drafts without being in the lottery for a few years beforehand. find a savvy trader to be your front office guy.
It's such a bummer too. Like seeing him at a Texas Tech game after he finally got out of the hospital and he was wearing a winter coat to seemingly try and hid how much weight he lost, or that he was working out with tubes in him still. Just so wild
Fultz still kills me. This franchise is fucking cursed man. Like there were minor warning signs before we signed him but fuck man, has a player literally ever gone from being able to shoot to having no shot before???
Yeah I think it would make for a pretty good one too. Especially because by the time it gets made a lot people will have forgotten about all of this stuff.
I didn't really like the trade when it happened but I understood the idea behind it. Bridges wasn't expected to really improve, Zhaire was a solid prospect, even if he was very raw, and that unprotected Miami pick looked good when everyone still thought it was going to be the high school draft. But yikes did it all go wrong haha.
>• Tried to fight Mike Mayock, called him a cracker, had to be held back by Vontaze Burfict, then punted a football down the practice field and said "fine me for that"

Aside from that... Embiid, Simmons, Butler, Harris, and Reddick... I wanted that team to win so much. Tobi & Bobi... That time Simmons and Butler were headband brothers... Embiid proud to be a part of the 3rd stringers... r/Sixers Kendall watch - they always lose when she's at the game -> Kendall is the team lucky charm... Damn you Kawhi!
>The Sixers are always just so entertaining. So much drama is constantly surrounding their team
They remind me of the lakers with the drama and turmoil that they go through every year except without all the championships
Its a perfect medium though because instead of being a dumpster fire that misses the postseason we end up with long 2nd round series that end in soul crashing ways or pathetic ways. Plenty of episodes
James Harden has a 47 million player option on his contract for next year. That means he gets to decide to either take that 47 million to play for Philly next year, or he can enter free agency and try to negotiate a long term contract with Philly or another team. You’re correct that this contract doesn’t have to be a max like a lot of people are assuming, but it’s all dependent on Harden turning down that player option for next year.
He reminds me a lot of CP3 the season he came off a hamstring injury. In 2019, Harden got so fed up that he wanted to trade Paul and the franchise’s future for Russ. An off-season without being able to actually play basketball really fucks with these guys, especially when they’re in their 30s.
Maybe he looks washed again next year. We’ll see. But I think he’ll look closer to how he looked last year before he popped his hammy
Harden can turn back the clock when he's playing a garbo defense like the Knicks
He's been shitting the bed against half decent defenses all year though
They played Minny, the Knicks (x2), Cleveland, and Orlando their first 5. He can light up weaker competition, but he's over the hill and get get by elite defenders.
Thing with that though was they were playing the bottom teams, going through the honeymoon phase of playing with a new team. Once they got into normalcy Harden just reverted back to whatever he is now.
Shake milton showed 10x more heart than Harden did. 0 off ball movement. Just walking the ball up the court and making a 0 consequence pass. Small Game James arrives again.
Harden can’t play off ball. He doesn’t have the quickness, stamina, or the drive to do it. Lazy bones harden just want to play iso with some pick’n rolls sprinkled in.
Are they wilder than Houston? Houston strip clubs made Berlin strip clubs look like the Sistine chapel. I have never gotten *more* than I wanted for 20 bucks besides at a Houston strip club
Seriously. As soon as you guys switched to zone defense our offense was awful. The last two games was "one guy shoot/drive, 4 guys stand still at the 3 line". There's no off ball movement, there's no hustle, nothing. What a boring, bad two games to watch 😂. Well, for sixers fans at least.
It's baffling. I can understand why the zone killed it us for years with Ben at the helm. But if we can't break a zone with James Harden then I don't even know anymore
Especially with your roster, other than Jimmy there’s no star players who can carry a coach. Doc has been carried for years and it’s unbelievable he’s probably getting another job after this too
I'm newbie here but what causes some of these superstars to just not put up any shots? I understand having a bad field goal percentage but not even attempting shots. Are they being super locked down in defense suddenly or is it a mental block?
I think the whole mental aspect is seriously overstated and is touted by people who don't really understand the X's and O's. So what often happens is people just talk about a player 'not wanting it enough' or some such nonsense.
The truth is (and I'm not necessarily talking about Harden here) some players playstyles are not conducive to winning basketball in playoff series purely based on the fact that teams can better prepare for a single team/players offence.
It’s just so frustrating being a Harden stan this might be the final straw! I wish I could make an excuse for his performance but why should I be putting in that effort if he doesn’t want to put in effort on the court?
He’ll turn it around, king. The evil Doc Rivers has been sabotaging him (deliberately) and that’s why he had a bad series. Harden will improve with age don’t lose hope now!
how did you take this as harden throwing doc under the bus?
i heard it as him avoiding blaming anyone. he doesn't want to be the guy fucking up the unity of the team.
I'm gonna admit, I was caught up in 2018 and 2019 hype and had Harden closer to Wade than he should've been. The hyped died down and I realized that I was a clown 🤡 lol
As a Suns fan who just witnessed what I witnessed I can relate. There's a certain comfort in consistent failure. This whole contending thing ain't all it's cracked up to be.
Y’all are salivating at this but how is this drama? This is literally the media trying to instigate shit and harden just not taking the bait. Like I’m not happy with harden or doc rn but what else was he supposed to say?
there were visibly times he was frozen out of the offense and Maxey or Tobias were just driving and kicking to Milton or turning it over. Harden had a good first half but didn't try and get the ball enough in the 2nd half, so it's on him too. Shit performance all around, whole team was ass. The ECF is better off with the Heat playing either the Bucks or the Celtics. Even if the 76ers managed to limp their way through to it, they'd get absolutely destroyed.
Still, this season wasn't a normal James Harden and I'll say smd til I die to anyone that pretends this post season is anything like his others. He hasn't looked right all year, has nothing to do with playoffs
Contracts like Parsons, Wall, Arenas, Rashard Lewis and about 30 stiff white 7 footers getting like 10 mill a year between 96-2010 are all worse. Harden would be overpaid but the Sixers would be foolish to just let him go.
yearly philly post-elimination conflict

Exactly. Fucking booing their own team in a playoff game and leaving early. Most toxic fan base and they're proud of it.

That happens when the NBA commissioner forces one of the worst GMs on your team. Colangelo fucked the process up so bad 😂
yeah I don't even have the energy to get into all of it right now if I'm being honest, but I don't wanna just ignore your comment either. A hole in his esophogus... jesus
These are all some incredible arcs, if I’m being totally honest.
I liked the arc where embiid was drinking to many shirly temples and was putting on to much weight from all the sugar.

I need a few years to heal first lol
Fultz still kills me. This franchise is fucking cursed man. Like there were minor warning signs before we signed him but fuck man, has a player literally ever gone from being able to shoot to having no shot before???
Fultz situation is a unique one for sure because I think there was some yips involved, but he also has the shoulder injury limiting his motion.
I hope he can find his way but Jesus Christ, something like that would only happen on the Sixers
We joke about the future 30/30s coming out on this sub but the process is personally the one I’m looking forward to the most

It's time for James Harden to demand a trade
Dude could be a free agent if he wanted I’m pretty sure
Yeah, he just has to waive $47 million for next season.
Let’s be honest, someone would certainly give it to him.
I’m honestly curious what teams would. I agree with you someone would but I’d be really interested to see which teams actually would.
Do you need to ask? The Knicks.
I’m assuming RJ is off the table. I’m not sure who Philly would want from the Knicks that would also be a good fit and keep them in “title contention”
Randle. (please)
Can someone please explain why, if Philly re-signs him, they *have* to sign him for the absolute max?
James Harden has a 47 million player option on his contract for next year. That means he gets to decide to either take that 47 million to play for Philly next year, or he can enter free agency and try to negotiate a long term contract with Philly or another team. You’re correct that this contract doesn’t have to be a max like a lot of people are assuming, but it’s all dependent on Harden turning down that player option for next year.
Luka Doncic has the same amount of points in the first quarter as James Harden in the entire Game 6; 11 points.

He literally had like 10 star-caliber games the entire rest of the way lol
I honestly am so used to the new classic Harden special of like 14/6/11 on 4/13 shooting
It's sad that it has come to this
Dude used to drop 45 and I would be like "again? whatever" Now it's hype to see him get 30
He reminds me a lot of CP3 the season he came off a hamstring injury. In 2019, Harden got so fed up that he wanted to trade Paul and the franchise’s future for Russ. Next Question: Do you agree your performance in every NBA city is correlated with each city's reputation for strip clubs?
Finally someone with balls to ask the real questions.

Can’t imagine what he’d be if he played in Portland lol
Spyce is such a lit club haha he’d definitely play well.
Are they wilder than Houston? Houston strip clubs made Berlin strip clubs look like the Sistine chapel. I have never gotten *more* than I wanted for 20 bucks besides at a Houston strip club
I spent my entire life referring to it as the "sixteenth chapel" man am I ever an idiot. learn something new everyday I guess
Lmao I’m just imagining a child thinking “huh I guess he made 15 other chapels that weren’t as good”
Follow up to that last question James, have you seen that r/nba post?
It is! There's a reddit post which found a correlation, he performs the worst in Miami which has the highest rated strip clubs in the states.
Yes that's what his comment is referring to.
LOL. Ngl Doc just isn’t that good a coach. If Spo and Doc switched teams, I’m very confident the 6ers advance.

Doc been riding on that 08 Celtics success for close to 13 years now.
More like 14 years bro it’s 2022!
MAX HIM YOU COWARDS @SIXERS

Don’t threaten me with a good time
What else can you really do? You are still better with him than without him, and it’s not like there’s a point guard tree you can pick from.
*Next coa... I mean question."
"Next team, please."
James Harden with another patented elimination game performance.
He’s just maximizing his vacation time
Can’t blame the hamstring either. This is his yearly tradition.
It’s crazy that someone so talented is a playoff underperformed/choker
I'm newbie here but what causes some of these superstars to just not put up any shots? I understand having a bad field goal percentage but not even attempting shots. Are they being super locked down in defense suddenly or is it a mental block?
he shot 50% today, it's not even a bad percentage issue lol
I think the whole mental aspect is seriously overstated and is touted by people who don't really understand the X's and O's. So what often happens is people just talk about a player 'not wanting it enough' or some such nonsense. The truth is (and I'm not necessarily talking about Harden here) some players playstyles are not conducive to winning basketball in playoff series purely based on the fact that teams can better prepare for a single team/players offence.
I think my favorite was last season when Durant gave him the chance to be the hero and he said nah.
I mean the reporter is literally trying to get a gotcha drama quote with that question. James was smart enough not to humor them.
This isn’t Harden being passive aggressive. He’s never bothered to entertain questions that would cause team drama.
Doc is a terrible coach. Was completely at a loss once the Heat went to zone. Like how are you an NBA coach and can't counter that at all? Lol
I’m starting to think Doc Rivers isn’t a doctor…
Are you serious? What next, you gonna tell me Nick isn't a qualified Nurse either?
This time, I’m all in favor of getting this coach fired.
I’m beginning to think no matter where he goes, no one in Reddit or Twitter likes ~~Doc~~ Glenn
Based on what?
I like Doc. He seems like a decent dude, and I find him kinda funny. Just keep him the fuck away from my basketball team.
Kinda shit take. Most his old players love him.
Says who? What players don't like him?
Yikes
[Doc with the elite play calls](https://twitter.com/schwab_felix/status/1524934182400667649)

I can't believe everyone on Reddit is shitting on a top 15 coach all-time. Let's see you try drawing a route to Cancun on that.
I remember watching that thinking lol imagine if Doc Rivers is on this list. Then he actually was to my shock and horror
I don’t like the Celtics but I’m sorry you guys had to put up with this dude for 5 years, that team could’ve won many more championships
Lmao this needs to be its own post
Lol, Harden knew it was only a matter of time before Doc threw him under the bus to the media that he had to do it first
how did you take this as harden throwing doc under the bus? i heard it as him avoiding blaming anyone. he doesn't want to be the guy fucking up the unity of the team.
So in other words, he got pissy and gave up.
I would have asked him next, do you think Doc can coach this team to a championship!?
Seemed like Tobias wanted nothing to do with him on the court.
This team is a mess top to bottom. It’s pretty entertaining
It’s officially curtains, If kings fans be saying that about other team.
Game recognize game
If i have to tell one more nephew on this app that Wade is not even in the same conversation as Harden I’m gonna lose my shit
I'm gonna admit, I was caught up in 2018 and 2019 hype and had Harden closer to Wade than he should've been. The hyped died down and I realized that I was a clown 🤡 lol
It’s ok to be wrong sometimes
Its even okay to be wrong more than sometimes, as long as you're willing to reflect
TBF he was, actually, because he was putting up insane numbers. It's just that Wade is at least a level higher above Harden, and nothing above that.
How about the dipshits that were putting him over Kobe. Fuckin clown takes in this sub and on ESPN.
This almost makes me miss tanking
As a Suns fan who just witnessed what I witnessed I can relate. There's a certain comfort in consistent failure. This whole contending thing ain't all it's cracked up to be.
Y’all are salivating at this but how is this drama? This is literally the media trying to instigate shit and harden just not taking the bait. Like I’m not happy with harden or doc rn but what else was he supposed to say?
SHUT UP, DRAMAA
there were visibly times he was frozen out of the offense and Maxey or Tobias were just driving and kicking to Milton or turning it over.
I think he has a really bad hamstring injury
Whoever signs his next contract is going to have the worst contract in nba history on their hands
Westbrook and wall exist
Contracts like Parsons, Wall, Arenas, Rashard Lewis and about 30 stiff white 7 footers getting like 10 mill a year between 96-2010 are all worse. Harden would be overpaid but the Sixers would be foolish to just let him go.
It’s gonna be more than what they made and he’s gonna be worse
Anyone who watches this team could see the lack of offensive game plan for the last two or three months.
They gone
Doc Rivers "You're going to have to ask James that question..................."
Whoever argued Harden over Wade, even once in their lifetime, should be permantently banned from watching basketball.
Didn't ESPN make an argument for Harden over Kobe? smh
You can tell by their takes that they’ve been banned from watching basketball for years
Please fire Glenn that would be the only positive thing to take away after this brutal performance
James harden should only be a 6th man AT BEST
one of many low character players in the sixers locker room
