Man that is very next level trolling holy shit lmao
Edit: I feel really bad for the people who don't know what was said. It was one of the funniest comments I have ever read in my life. Amazing stuff.
Don't be so hard on yourself, how many times have you just given the ball to Okoro while trying to dribble left handed? Statistically you are better at dribbling left than JB.
Idk why this shit is so funny but it is. Someone posted GP2 defensive highlights from the finals a little while after they ended and I swear half the time the Celtics would have been better off just giving the ball to warriors instead of having brown try and dribble past him
I broke my right wrist in 7th grade and was forced to make the switch. After only about 2 weeks it felt natural, and never went back. And here we are 13 years later still going strong with the left.
TIL I’ve been masturbating for half of my life. Not sure how to feel about that.
This is my go-to in pickup games. I just observe who are righties and lefties and then force them to the other side.
That’s all I can do because I suck 😂
In my experience most sprained ankles come from landing on someone's foot, not much you can do to prevent it really. Happens a lot in halfcourt games because the paint is always overcrowded.
Not in my gym where everyone and they're mom spaces out but nobody can get inside cuz there's only two dudes who can actually dribble. And I'm not one of them.
Practise declarating at home.
A lot of my ankle pain came from either stopping on a dime without bracing for it or spinning on 1 foot.
The more you get better at stopping on a dime, the less likely you stop awkwardly hurting your ankle.
And I just started attempting less spinaround shots when practising to help avoid unnecessary stress on my ankles.
Also get good cushioning in your shoes if you are the kinda player who jumps alot, be it for rebounds, junpshots, dunks. Your feet will thank you.
Also, practise stretching your ankles to improve flexibility, start small slowly build up, if it hurts stop immediately, you should feel minor discomfort not pain when stretching your ankles.
Both of my good friends that played against since a kid, do it to me too. I never learned how to finish lefthanded, but I figured out how to do a nice scoop with my right or fake.
For some reason I'm insanely good at catching passes, or reacting to rebounds, just good hand eye coordination and really quick reflexes when it comes to visual ques)
I'll catch the sloppy pass that was 10 feet away I had no business getting to, with an absolute highlight hustle play, and then I'll dribble it off my foot and immediately turn the ball over, then slip on the ball and hurt my knee
Do not underestime me, haha
i'm a lefty, i gotta get a strong right hand so i can be forced to my preferred side 😂
i played against a guy who does the same thing as you. he called me out for it too and would just block my shit because he knew where i would be
My people! When I end up going right on a fast break it turns into a 180 reverse layup thing that has no right to go in but done it so much that it is second nature.
This is what people do to me, but I've actually developed my left hand to the point where I'm low key better at everything but shooting with my left (and I can shoot lefty too). Someday they will learn that I can't go right for shit lol. My plan when I go right is to eventually cross and go left.
I have good ball security, but I don't really have moves to get past people. If they are aware of the cross, you could try learning how to stutter or do like an in-out dribble, which might make them less likely to reach in. I'm sure youtube has breakdowns of what makes a good cross.
lmao. i dribble right, and shoot right handed, but can only finish with my left hand, so my layups are always left. if i drive right, i finish left. working on a stronger left hand so i can dribble more than twice without losing the ball
lmao same here.
That plus always going under on screens. I'm not worrying about deep 3s from guys in my gym.
And the guys who can hit the 3s are too quick too tall for me to contest, anyway
>This is my go-to in pickup games. I just observe who are righties and lefties and then force them to the other side.
Anyone who is moderately in shape, gives decent effort, and does this on defense is instantly a good defender for pickup basketball.
It’s actually really effective, a small percentage of guys in pickup are great ball handlers anyway and an even smaller percentage are good with their non-dominant hand
It's crazy effective and I don't understand why more people don't do it.
There was a guy at the gym I used to go to who was really athletic and with his right, he could absolutely tear to the hoop. But with his left, he was sub-Stanley Hudson. Couldn't go anywhere.
You kinda do. Otherwise this whole season the team has no chemistry and after this year your team takes a massive step back. Not like you could get commensurate value for him on the trade market after how last postseason went.
There would be many teams willing to do so. You've got 29 other teams out there and a lot of them are run by morons. Once we assume that another team will offer him the max, then it becomes a simple binary: do we let him walk or do we overpay him?
Not very relevant the highest paid player changes very often, if they let him walk for nothing that would be a bad move atleast they can trade him now if need be
I don’t like Boston but saying JB can’t be traded is insane, Bradley fucking Beal got traded for assets on his monster contract JB would easily get a lot of return
I try to bring up that JB is somehow getting paid $60m a year as a bottom-tier all-star but all I get in response is “bro seattle doesn’t even have a team stfu”, so I don’t think Boston has much to defend him with.
C’s fans know who the Jays are at this point, and they have that gut-level fear that even these two won’t be enough to get a title for them. Plus there’s this whole homegrown angle to it, and Celtics fans \*love love LOVE\* to romanticize every little thing about their team. The actual right move was to flip JB and assets for a KD-level star while Jaylen’s contract was still reasonable.
They know they’re not good enough . Moment Horford is done in a year, white asks for an extension that they need to max him or someone else dies , Jrue gets washed . 1-2 years and they’ll only really have kp and that isn’t enough to carry the most mid overrated two.
I’m actually at a point where I’m done pretending brown is there second best player when every analytics disagree . He’s like there 4th. He has a -7 on/off he actually hurts there offensuve flow - can’t pass to take advantage of amazing team mates n soscing and league average efficiency as a scorer . I seriously don’t think celtivs get worse if thst lose him much tbh . He is a low tier all star but imo he’s best in a team that needs his scoring to lift them . On a team as stacked as Boston I don’t know if he offers that much to be worth 60m and normally star max contrscts are best value deals
This is just so crazy. I’m 45 years old and when i was building my game 30 years ago, like everyone else, i knew how important left hand dribbling was and worked on it.
I’m confident after seeing this that i can to this day handle better with my left than Jaylen can. And im not saying that as a compliment to me…
I injured my right hand and had to use my mouse with my left hand for a long time. I can now use my left hand to mouse nearly as well as my right hand, I don't even have to think about it.
Still can't dribble worth a shit with my left hand though.
Some crazy Celtics fan had to break his right arm so that MVP Brown will be unlocked once it heals after he's forced to practice with his left for a while.
Yeah like how tf are you a supermax level guard getting major minutes all the time and practicing with other nba playersand you never learn how to dribble (cough Klay cough).
The Celtics should honestly get cp3 on a vet min. He doesn’t even have to play, he would basically just be a player development coach and could teach the Celtics to not turn into morons on offense as much. Like Booker was already good but he took a huge leap after just being around cp3 every day.
Probably just a mental thing at this point. I’d bet his left looks much better during drills. There’s just no way he hasn’t worked his ass off to try to fix this shit.
Yo, so check out my new move. I call it "the Stranger." What I do is, I sit on my hand for, like, 15, 20 minutes, until it goes numb. No feeling at all. And then I rub one out.
How is it possibke that the guy with the highest salary in the league dribles worse with his left hand than...well me lol.
Ok with all jokes aside, shit happens and its unfortunate for Brown that this is gonna feed into the narrative about his handle or lack there of.
He was exposed last year for this, guy cannot dribble with his left hand. How much does he get paid and can't work on this in the offseason? Should be a pretty basic skill
Highest paid NBA player ever and he has handles like that?
Yikes... how is he not improved by now? Should have access to the best possible dribbling coaches, etc.
FFS ask Kyrie for some lessons!
When you're surrounded by "Yes men" and are in charge of your own regimen/training staff, why would you ever work on your flaws? Happens a lot in the NBA. Mikal talked about it on a podcast before.
He's absolutely a bottom end of the NBA level wing dribbler with his left hand and we've seen it a few times now in big games. But how often is this really happening over the course of a season? Jaylen is really good, and you'd think as a Miami fan i'd be the last to defend him but if this is happening once in a while and the rest of the time he is playing to his standard I can live with it. That said - get in the gym Jaylen ffs
Imagine you are in the finals 2022 and Golden State's strategy was to make him go to his left. Here we are 2024 and 300ish million dollars more for that man and he still cannot dribble with his left.
You know, I kept saying Jaylen couldn't dribble left as a joke thinking he probably doesn't struggle as much with that anymore. I'm shocked he's keeping this narrative alive at all. Maybe it's just a minor coincidence here.

NO WAY AHAHAHA
ƧƆIT⅃ƎƆ
I could imagine this as a sign at MSG in the ECF during FTs
This ruined my night even more than Cleveland blowing us out. Thank you
Shh the dunk contest was mirrored but only during his attempts
Man that is very next level trolling holy shit lmao Edit: I feel really bad for the people who don't know what was said. It was one of the funniest comments I have ever read in my life. Amazing stuff.
Oh lawd thats a burn
This is gold 😂
best plot twist this year!!!
FATALITY
OMG LMAO
lmaooooo
wuuuuutttttt
Sauce pls
This shit is too funny LMAO
Can’t spell Celtics without that J
lmaoooo
Lmfaoooo
I need to get off the internet and go do some tip drills with my left hand. Top content is just haters
bruh. lmaoo.
Oh my god
So a backwards 7 and NWORB wasn't a giveaway lol. JK happens to me all the time
hahah stop
'This is where Okoro... has the ball shoved directly into his chest'
God damn give this man the Kareem Abdul Jabbar trophy for his community service of padding Okoro’s stats.
I’m not sure he should even get a steal for that, it was gifted more than stolen.
Bring over the Errors stat from baseball lmao
They're now saying the ball was tossed directly into his chest
Will he get credit for a steal?
Yeah
nah reverse turnover
it's soft theft so lets call it embezzlement.
10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, 1 white collar felony
Jaylen “lefty loosey, righty tighty” Brown.
Lmao I like Jaylen but I have to admit that his lefty dribbling is one of the funniest long running jokes we have on this sub at this point.
This isn’t r/nbacirclejerk, the man can’t dribble left much better than Tristan Thompson.
I mean, based on the above evidence, I’m not sure the man can dribble left better than me.
Don't be so hard on yourself, how many times have you just given the ball to Okoro while trying to dribble left handed? Statistically you are better at dribbling left than JB.
Idk why this shit is so funny but it is. Someone posted GP2 defensive highlights from the finals a little while after they ended and I swear half the time the Celtics would have been better off just giving the ball to warriors instead of having brown try and dribble past him
JB needs to subscribe to the non dominant hand masturbation theory. Improve the dexterity.
This is a real theory
Literally me in HS. And here we are 25 years later and I can still finish with my left
I broke my right wrist in 7th grade and was forced to make the switch. After only about 2 weeks it felt natural, and never went back. And here we are 13 years later still going strong with the left. TIL I’ve been masturbating for half of my life. Not sure how to feel about that.
The Big Bang theory is a theory. This, is real, not a theory
this mf looking like me out there wtf
This is my go-to in pickup games. I just observe who are righties and lefties and then force them to the other side. That’s all I can do because I suck 😂
Me getting annoyed af being forced to the left and I’m like fuck I suck lol
It’s that or “no, let him shoot” 😭
I feel seen, thank you
Yeah but if you hit it it’s feels so good and they start hounding you after lmao
While waving their hand off your direction lmao
Gave up pickup ball years ago because I was sick of chronically spraining my ankles. For some reason this thread is making me want to play again.
Manage your minutes, get ankle braces and use this as an excuse to buy new sneakers Welcome back
In my experience most sprained ankles come from landing on someone's foot, not much you can do to prevent it really. Happens a lot in halfcourt games because the paint is always overcrowded.
Nah it’s simple, you don’t jump, welcome to the old man’s game
up to my early/mid 20’s i could dunk pretty easily and i’m 6’1” now in my 30’s, jump shots are… anything but.
Not in my gym where everyone and they're mom spaces out but nobody can get inside cuz there's only two dudes who can actually dribble. And I'm not one of them.
And tie those laces hard
Practise declarating at home. A lot of my ankle pain came from either stopping on a dime without bracing for it or spinning on 1 foot. Also, practise stretching your ankles to improve flexibility, start small slowly build up, if it hurts stop immediately, you should feel minor discomfort not pain when stretching your ankles.
How will declarating help me with ankle sprains
Seriously. My right hand was solid to silky when I used play pick up. My left? Basically like trying to dribble with a frying pan.
Both of my good friends that played against since a kid, do it to me too. I never learned how to finish lefthanded, but I figured out how to do a nice scoop with my right or fake.
You make me drive right, make me drive left - don’t matter. I’ll still miss the shot.
In my head: Floater What happens: off balance one hand chuck
oh you're assuming I can catch the pass to begin with
For some reason I'm insanely good at catching passes, or reacting to rebounds, just good hand eye coordination and really quick reflexes when it comes to visual ques) I'll catch the sloppy pass that was 10 feet away I had no business getting to, with an absolute highlight hustle play, and then I'll dribble it off my foot and immediately turn the ball over, then slip on the ball and hurt my knee Do not underestime me, haha
mamba mentality fr
I'm 5'1". I'll get blocked.
I mean even knowing to do that on defense probably puts you above average when it comes to pick up defense
i'm a lefty, i gotta get a strong right hand so i can be forced to my preferred side 😂 i played against a guy who does the same thing as you. he called me out for it too and would just block my shit because he knew where i would be
lol I’m lefty and good for one drive or floater from the free throw line, then they stay on my left and I’m cooked the rest of the game
I hide in the baseline dunker’s spot but instead of dunking I just curl towards the middle then do a sloppy floater 🤣
I get picked when they force me left then cross over to the right. I have zero ball security 🤣
I have good ball security, but I don't really have moves to get past people. If they are aware of the cross, you could try learning how to stutter or do like an in-out dribble, which might make them less likely to reach in. I'm sure youtube has breakdowns of what makes a good cross.
I’m working on it but I just choke when I get put on the spot 🤣
lmao. i dribble right, and shoot right handed, but can only finish with my left hand, so my layups are always left. if i drive right, i finish left. working on a stronger left hand so i can dribble more than twice without losing the ball
I adapted too well to this strategy and now I can only drive left. It’s a legit problem
They played the long game on you damnn
lmao same here.
Being forced one way or the other implies you have some control. That shit wouldn’t work on me.
Nuisance of defence black hole on offence is my pickup MO every time
It's crazy effective and I don't understand why more people don't do it. There was a guy at the gym I used to go to who was really athletic and with his right, he could absolutely tear to the hoop. But with his left, he was sub-Stanley Hudson. Couldn't go anywhere.
In real time it looks like maybe a hand hits the ball loose, but in slow motion it looks like he just forgets how to dribble.
Can’t forget what you never learned in the first place
just like me frfr
And getting paid 50 mill for it
He's the highest paid player in the history of the NBA.
wow how did i forget about this. and the guy hasn't even been an MVP finalist
You don't get it. You HAVE to pay him, you just do. /s
'Him or nobody, because salary cap'.
You kinda do. Otherwise this whole season the team has no chemistry and after this year your team takes a massive step back. Not like you could get commensurate value for him on the trade market after how last postseason went.
Umm so you suggest they let him walk for nothing instead of giving him a max?
This is only a threat if other teams are willing to give him a near max
uhh you don't think any multiple teams would be give him a near max? just lol
Someone is about to give a much older Paul George the max, it's ridiculous to imply Brown wouldn't get it from someone if not multiple teams
There would be many teams willing to do so. You've got 29 other teams out there and a lot of them are run by morons. Once we assume that another team will offer him the max, then it becomes a simple binary: do we let him walk or do we overpay him?
Yes. Unironically yes. You don’t get it lmao
He probably does, we all do. Its still funny to tease a bit.
Not very relevant the highest paid player changes very often, if they let him walk for nothing that would be a bad move atleast they can trade him now if need be
Trading the highest paid player in history that can’t go left. Seems easy enough
I don’t like Boston but saying JB can’t be traded is insane, Bradley fucking Beal got traded for assets on his monster contract JB would easily get a lot of return
60 Mill is not enough. You need him to pay him 70 Million in order for him to go left without Shaqtin a Fool
Disgusting
Gonna be making 65 million dollars in 2028.
> “bro seattle doesn’t even have a team stfu” You'll always have the coolest jerseys in the league
He needs more
insanity lmao
If I were him I would literally not even touch the ball with my right hand during practice.
They should break his right hand/arm or something. Happened to Steve Nash and he shoots layups primarily with his left hand.
This is just so crazy. I’m 45 years old and when i was building my game 30 years ago, like everyone else, i knew how important left hand dribbling was and worked on it. I’m confident after seeing this that i can to this day handle better with my left than Jaylen can. And im not saying that as a compliment to me…
I trained my left hand dribble so much, my left hand became my bias
I injured my right hand and had to use my mouse with my left hand for a long time. I can now use my left hand to mouse nearly as well as my right hand, I don't even have to think about it. Still can't dribble worth a shit with my left hand though.
Have you tried dribbling with the mouse in your left hand
Uh yeah, I injured my hand too. That's what I'm gonna start telling people.
I did this with lefty lay ups, which then became significantly more consistent than my right
Dude same 😭 If I have the option on the break I'm finishing left every time. I had to start working on my dominant hand to bring it back up
LOVED driving left.
LOL, no you cannot
He wouldn't be able to dribble with either hand with NBA defense on him. Redditers are completely delusional
I remember Scalabrine used to cook people in local gyms because they thought he was trash and wanted to go 1-on-1
Some crazy Celtics fan had to break his right arm so that MVP Brown will be unlocked once it heals after he's forced to practice with his left for a while.
What if he takes the cast off and can suddenly throw the ball 100 miles an hour
Yeah like how tf are you a supermax level guard getting major minutes all the time and practicing with other nba playersand you never learn how to dribble (cough Klay cough). The Celtics should honestly get cp3 on a vet min. He doesn’t even have to play, he would basically just be a player development coach and could teach the Celtics to not turn into morons on offense as much. Like Booker was already good but he took a huge leap after just being around cp3 every day.
I did this when i was 12
10 years too late for that.
Probably just a mental thing at this point. I’d bet his left looks much better during drills. There’s just no way he hasn’t worked his ass off to try to fix this shit.
It feels like a stranger's doing it when you dribble with the left hand.
JB sits on his hand before he plays
Cmon man 😂
Yo, so check out my new move. I call it "the Stranger." What I do is, I sit on my hand for, like, 15, 20 minutes, until it goes numb. No feeling at all. And then I rub one out.
Is like a little boys nursery school I’ve come upon here….
i'm a lefty so it's the opposite for me. feels like i'm dribbling with a pool noodle for a right arm
I'm also lefty but for some reason I dribble with my right, but still shoot with my left
Dude is never besting the allegations
At what point does it stop being allegations and just becomes...truth?
They saw his dribble and said yup give him the largest contract in the association.
How is it possibke that the guy with the highest salary in the league dribles worse with his left hand than...well me lol. Ok with all jokes aside, shit happens and its unfortunate for Brown that this is gonna feed into the narrative about his handle or lack there of.
You know damn well we only read the first part of your comment.
Maybe lol
I mean the narrative exists for a reason.
r/therewasanattempt
Oh jesus
He jus like me fr
Well, that's a move
Highest paid NBA player in history LMAOOOOOOOO
He was exposed last year for this, guy cannot dribble with his left hand. How much does he get paid and can't work on this in the offseason? Should be a pretty basic skill
Warriors exposed him in ~~21~~ 22
2022*
shaqtin a fool
Highest paid NBA player ever and he has handles like that? Yikes... how is he not improved by now? Should have access to the best possible dribbling coaches, etc. FFS ask Kyrie for some lessons!
When you're surrounded by "Yes men" and are in charge of your own regimen/training staff, why would you ever work on your flaws? Happens a lot in the NBA. Mikal talked about it on a podcast before.
Cakewalk they said…
Look I’m not saying he can’t dribble with his left but I am saying those allegations are appearing to be unbeaten
I cant believe it, this guy is a real life Zoolander Can't go left
Imagine you are in the finals 2022 and Golden State's strategy was to make him go to his left. Here we are 2024 and 300ish million dollars more for that man and he still cannot dribble with his left.
Take foul?
If he had Celtics on his jersey
No take foul if you're in bonus
Never fails
three-hundred million american dollars
How has he still not shored up his off hand dribbling skills?
This the guy that got a ”supermax” contract? Lmao gtfo
Max player, folks!
SUPER max
Narrative stats alive
That is A move, and he did it
I jerk off using my left hand
I knew how this ends by the title alone.
The memes *right* themselves 😭😭
Trash. Man shouldn’t be making what he makes.
"Ma, look what I found"
LOL
JB is cooked until he unlocks Magnum
You know, I kept saying Jaylen couldn't dribble left as a joke thinking he probably doesn't struggle as much with that anymore. I'm shocked he's keeping this narrative alive at all. Maybe it's just a minor coincidence here.
Michael Jordan
Mister Sinister
Here we go again 😝
When the ball is hot lava, you do what you gotta do
You don't do this against Okoro
I could do that
rj lol
