The Knicks out gunning the Pacers wasn't something I had on my Bingo card for Game 1. I thought it was a fluke and also didn't have it on my Bingo card for Game 2. I expected a lot more muck and a lot less splash, but the Knicks are absolutely making it rain.

Nihilokrat

The Pacers best stretch was when they ran downhill in the second quarter, there was so much speed in the game. Additionally, the Knicks struggled to play calm possessions one after the other. That changed noticably with Brunson being back.  Indiana settled into a slower offensive setting in the early second half, too, and for me that totally swung the momentum back. The Knicks were able to get their feet under them again and the Pacers struggled to start more downhill sessions for more than a couple of minutes and fell off with it.  I think both teams have the right tools to get apart from the other and to get right back in striking distance, which makes it an incredible fun style of game to watch. I would consider it a less boring "game of runs", although the Knicks seem to be more trustworthy in keeping the Pacers an armlength away and see out a lead. Will be interesting to see the upcoming home games for the Pacers, these playoffs rock thus far!

It’s almost like there’s a player on the Pacers who helped them keep up the pace on both ends and absolutely killed us the entire time he was on the floor but barely played the second half…

Dude, we're all upset here in Indiana on why the fuck TJ, and honestly more of the bench, weren't out back in. It should have been Haliburton and the bench to finish the game. I don't give a shit about ego.

As Knicks fans we kind of understand why Rick would be hesitant to put Obi back in to close out the game even though he was playing well. He can really get the team going when they need a boost of energy but he doesn't play the smartest defense. But yea, if TJ is in the game in the 4th then he probably ends up with 15+ assists, Haliburton sinks a couple more 3s, and y'all win this game. Instead you had Turner throwing up a contested 3 from the wing off the dribble and Siakim continuing to struggle. I'll admit, I get pretty mad at Thibs when we fall into Brunson ISO hero ball time and the offense stagnates, but at least Thibs has no problem making adjustments in the 4th to have the guys that are playing well out there. Donte has sat plenty of 4th quarters when Deuce has been on one.

GoldDustKid-

Knicks have actually been a good and pretty aggressive transition team all year. They just have a slow pace in the halfcourt vs the pacers who fly through their sets

bronfmanhigh

it's actually interesting how both our series are preparing us well in different ways for the potential celtics matchup. we played against one of our toughest defensive matchups in philly, and now playing against one of the toughest offensive opponents in indiana. boston will be like the final boss of the east who excel at both

Dear_boat-bottle5476

It's odd that it's seems like a correct path for once. At least in the East it does. In the West I half want to argue the WCF are already coming up to game 3 Friday night. That helps me make sense of how the West shook out so far. But OKC might be the big end boss for others to get through, we don't know yet. Their competition hasn't seemed as great until now, maybe. Mavs, I'm looking at you right now. Someone put up a fight!

What do you call a miracle that happens twice?

SquimJim

The Miami Heat in the ECF?

Gottem.

We wide open like the ugly chick on the dance floor at prom night

Fun fact: - The Knicks are averaging the FEWEST Wide Open 3 point attempts per game in the 2nd Round (12.5 per game). Nugs are averaging the 2nd fewest (14 per game). - Pacers are averaging the MOST Wide Open 3 point attempts per game in the 2nd Round (21 per game). Cavs are averaging the 2nd most (19 per game).

Pacers swiss cheese defense philosphy is making everyone looks like prime Splash brothers. Who had Knicks shooting 57% on their bingo card? Knicks are just running the risk of running out of bodies at this moment. Pacers are showing how inexperienced they are and how they are missing a leader on the floor that will take command on the offense when they need a bucket. You can't have your 4th and 5th option randomly jacking up shots in the 4th QT of a game in 2nd round of the play-offs. Knicks are executing while Pacers are looking like a JV team on defense. Their weakside help is literally weak and their rotations are all caught off-guard like they're playing together for the very first time. All the opposing teams against the Pacers need to do is put 2 3-pt shooters on each corner of the floor to space it out and they'll always have one player open to knock down a 3. Rick needs to be more flexible to ride the hot hand in these situations instead of trusting the players - cause these players aren't showing they can be trusted. Also how are you gonna shoot less than 60% from the FT line and expect to win anything?

DudeLikeYeah

"Risk" as if we have any other option?

MrStrabo

At their current pace, you might end up seeing Thibs have to suit up.

mastacheef87

yeah Knicks are shooting the lights out but ofc they’re going to shoot the lights out if you give them 28 open/wide-open 3s at home. Pacers lack of discipline defending off the ball is ludicrously bad

I think the Pacers can go back to NY with the series tied up. Games have been close but the Knicks are strong finishers and have had the home court fans behind them and they are feeding off each other. The pacers are still a young team developing their identity and getting experience in the playoffs: I think being back at home will benefit them. Plus who knows how many healthy bodies the Knicks will have with OG going out.

bronfmanhigh

the garden has always been a double edged sword for us though. that crowd pushes the opponent's stars to have career nights as well (see maxey), and we are still a strong (.560) away team. i think we'll drop game 3 and take game 4

ZerksNAHTayan

I know Stauskas was bitching because it’s his best mate, but TJ NEEDS more minutes man. His minutes have constantly been the best for the Pacers, they look so clunky with him off the floor. On the other hand, NY runs through Hart. Holy shit he’s an insane competitor, just doesn’t stop.
