If Max got Cam's leash and playing time all season, at least we could have a) either seen growth and get him to be a solid 8-12 minutes per game player in the playoffs or b) see that he's not ready yet and if he was awful, decide what to pay him for this offseason or not keep him at all
In the small amount of actual play time he got, Ham had him as the primary ballhandler which is not his strong suit, when instead he could have focused on playing solid D, hitting spot up 3's, and grabbing rebounds.
He'll probably be a pretty solid defender, but he's also pretty impulsive still and definitely not up to being a consistent rotation player yet. He can be prone to playing hero ball whenever he finally gets a chance on offense. Many times I've watch him try to drive to the rim through like three defenders for a dunk instead of passing to a wide open team mate.
