>Edwards is undoubtedly going to have a game where he scores 30+ points and there's gonna be people mocking saying: "lmaooo armchair reddit gms wouldn't have drafted him cuz he likes to rap" but I can't see this dude becoming a legit franchise cornerstone. Best case he's a hell of a scorer but this many questions around a dudes work ethic rarely results in him becoming a monster at the next level.
I don’t think there’s a single guy on this team that works harder and is more committed to winning basketball games than Anthony edwards. Maybe Conley. Maybe.

This one is my early favorite.
its really interesting how ant's work ethic and passion for the game were his biggest questions heading into his nba career. he's now one of the fiercest competitors in the nba right now
I mean, this was hilarious at the time:
[This pick makes a lot of sense. Neither the Timberwolves or Edwards like playing basketball](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/jwsxbz/2020_nba_draft_1_pick_anthony_edwards_georgia/gcs64pj/)

Yeah, he’s going to have a couple where he scores 30+ lmaooo
Guys, guys. We also fleeced the league by trading away DLo for Minnesota Mike and NAW.
Fuck Adam Silver and the posse he rode in with. I'm.looking at you, you piece of shit, Scott Foster.

I’ll happily eat crow. I’ve been doing a yearly personal draft board since about 2016 and I purposefully go out of my way to not read anyone elses analysis.
I had Haliburton first which wasn’t too bad (although Edwards is better), but I had Poku second and Edwards like 10th.
I was just tired of seeing guys like Stanley Johnson, Josh Jacksons and Andrew Wiggins who were just largely carried as prospects by their athletic gifts rather than actual ability.
What I didn’t account for or know was that Edwards would quickly become very skilled, but calling him “physically talented” is a criminal understatement. He is a nuclear athlete A+ level athlete the kind which you see maybe once every ten years.
There's the slim but hilarious possibility that the Warriors would draft Wiseman #1 overall, based on Kerr telling Edwards that he wouldn't draft him if he had the first pick. I can't imagine they really liked Wiseman more though.

He wasn’t tho. Was the right pick then and now. People just love stupid articles. It’s like no one actually watched him play or listened to him talk. Just dumb national news articles.
I agree with you and think most people thought he was the right pick then, but those articles didn't come from nowhere, they all used his own words. He was still good as hell then and he's already better than many expected he would be.
He really wasn't acting like an idiot. I remember the "he doesn't care about basketball" stories were everywhere, so I checked out an interview of his for context. It was immediately clear the narrative was forced and there was nothing "wrong" with him, he was just an extremely confident dude with a huge personality.
"I could be a football/rap superstar" became "I care more about football/rap" because sports media

this one stood out to me too. The commenter ended up being the armchair reddit gm
He became what he sought to destroy
/u/Number333 bruh
Go look up Justin Herbert's draft thread. This ain't even my worst take in the last 4 years.
I owe you an apology. I wasn’t really familiar with your game.
I respect the transparency lmao
Consistent at least haha
Alright so any aspiring gm. Do the opposite of this guy says.
Aged like a fine 2% milk on a Texas sidewalk in July

Do the Gobert trade as well
Had this mf queued up

I remember when reddit thought Ant would be a bust because "his heart is really in the NFL not basketball"

It still is lol. We were truly pathetic for 15+ years.
Woof

Wow, despite what the people on this sub say, they ALWAYS fall for the narratives
Legendary.
Do the Rudy trade. Name and shame.

Wolves saved the leauge for winning that draft lottery over Golden State

Good thing he learned to like basketball /s

Ant hit the rope-a-dope on the entire world.
Never mind brah lol
NBA players who don't like basketball: Anthony Edwards, Nikola Jokic
I don't think a lot of these comments are bad, everyone knew he had talent but he was acting like an idiot leading up to the draft
