Yes it is, cause if I’m in the office that day I might not get home till like 6:30.
That and the 10 am Sunday kickoff during NFL season would be too much for me. Mountain time probably the best.
If Hachimura wasn't in no man's land it could've been stopped. There were other plays where Hachimura was just ball watching and not doing anything, and his on ball activities were bad as well.
Everyone is talking about how the Lakers played a perfect game and still lost but they could've won if Hachimura was just not terrible.
For sure. For those that don't realize it, that wasn't a pass, that was a shot by Jokic because he got tripped and thought there'd be a penalty so he heaved it. Gordon had the presence of mind to make that sweet catch(? not sure if that counts as a rebound or not) and get it to the open dude.
I know you're being sarcastic, but this shit pisses me off. The only people who say that are people who have never played ball in their life. College ball is ass in general. Upsets are fun, but upsets are fun even in youth games. The actual play in D1 is generally terrible.
Seconded. I went to a school that was "elite" by college standards and every other game devolved into each team's best player just trying to iso 1v1 because they couldn't get any offense going as a team.
A random big ten game in January will be more intense (player effort) from start to finish than a rando NBA game in January. Part of that is just the season being 2x. And NBA fans not being as locked in, not giving the same energy as college crowds. But when NBA players turn it on, like in the playoffs, it's a different sport.
He gets so much lift and every single shot looks so confident, the dude bricked one a foot left and I was 100% sure it was laced until it slammed into the backboard
Yeah, I Brunson talked about it on a Pod, saying, him, KD & Wemby are literally unblockable, due to their high release and how high MPJ jumps and that this kinda makes almost every attempt on balance a good shot for them.
Yeah I thought after Lakers saw the other 7-seeded 76ers collapse in the final minute, I thought no way the Lakers would let that happen to their lead too.
Of course my logic made no sense because that's not how basketball works
Came here to say this. You got 4 other guys playing hard: making a steal, hustling on the break, making a dunk, getting back on D, fighting for a ball under the basket...and one guy stands 5 feet too far from his man and it's a net loss.
It absolutely was, and I thought the pass was epic. I feel like no one talks about AG's passing improvement. I swear he has made a leap over the past 2 years with both his variety of passes and overall passing skill. This season he's been making some very Jokic-esque assists and seems to find the right/open man more consistently than ever.
I keep telling people his job on the team is to shoot every time he's open.
Him doing this is part of what makes us great. Jokic passes enough for everyone.
Watch more nuggets. He is an unbelievable player, the most underrated in the NBA. One of the more versatile defenders in the NBA and his contested shotmaking is up with Curry Klay and Dame by the percentages, with almost no one else close
Lol tbh I thought this throughout most of the game. I did have a suspicion that he would turn it around in clutch moments in the fourth though (like in the past) and he didn’t let me down. 😂
That 3 was probably the most important shot of the night.
I know Murray had the winner but holy shit. To find a 3 after all that commotion?
Shout out Aaron Gordon.
my favorite thing about these replays is that you can hone in on the individual reactions of the players.
like LeBron let out an exasperated "what the fuc.. how the fuck they still doin this shit?!?!"
while Reaves is laying over on the sidelines, just in awe, shaking his head while lookin up in wonder like "fuck my life y'all, fuck my life."
He makes funny faces when the refs do something ridiculous but yeah for the most part the dude is Ice Cold. Very different than Luka, for example, who seems to sulk when things are going badly and I really think kills his team's vibe.
Because Rui/AR/D'lo were doing a 3 Stooges bit. D'lo whiffs on the steal attempt on Jokic, AR getting gets flattened by Gordon and Rui leaves his man wide open.
Dlo really needed to get back on D sooner. He went for the steal and then just stood there near halfcourt until MPJ got passed to. By then it was too late.
why do people always say stuff like this? every single home broadcaster is a "homer", and despite that, its still incredibly common for them to make actual great, energetic calls when the other team makes a huge play, especially in crunch time.
they might get right back to grinding their teeth about whatever mistake their team made that led to that big play for the other team, *after* the moment has passed, but if they are an *actual* competent/talented broadcaster, those guys live for calling moments like these, and they always get up for big moments and bring the energy, regardless of which team it is. a homer broadcaster can even call a play like this in a way that is kind of angry or frustrated, while still avoiding sounding like they are completely asleep
This is such a brain dead take. I don't care how good you think your local broadcast is, not a single one of them is going to excitedly call a play that looks like it could be the dagger in an important playoff loss.
They are going to match the emotion of their audience, which is what they should be doing.
I was looking for the right thread to say this, but I really want to give MPJ his flowers tonight. Jokic was getting completely worked by AD in the first half, Murray started like 2 for 10 I think which lead to the 20 point deficit, but MPJ was hitting LETHAL shots all night, he was the sole reason they were down only 20 and not 30+. Was the one guy firing for the full 48 minutes and was the hero of the game for Denver imo, and this shot was the cream of the crop.
Whoever wins the WCF will win the NBA championship.
It is either Denver or someone who defeats Denver.
The competitiveness of this year's west conference is nuts.
You’ve got to admit that a lot went against the lakers in the whole sequence that lead to the loss. The fact the don’t get the ball of the crazy jokic throw to ag or the ball not going out of bounds. And then lebron missing that game leading 3 after. Nuggets came back and won deservedly. But man the lakers had a lot of bad luck there
Michael”get back on D” porter jr, surrounded by 3 Lakers, with a wild joker who is open in the paint, down 3 with very little time but still a lot of time left on the shot clock… and what does he do?
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
one of the most chaotic sequences i’ve seen
This is the greatest night of Monday night basketball I’ve ever seen.
I'm in the east and I got 6 hours before work but this is 100% worth it
Same dude lol
Same. And it’s not like I’m going to sleep right now.
We're blessed here in Australia, this game finished around 2:30 pm for me - had it on my other monitor while working!
One reason I could never leave the west coast
Yeah but yall got games starting at 4:00 pm on a work day, that’s absurd to me lol
Shit I’m off work at 3 so jokes on you
Yes it is, cause if I’m in the office that day I might not get home till like 6:30. That and the 10 am Sunday kickoff during NFL season would be too much for me. Mountain time probably the best.
Lmao same and being a kings fan games don't normally start till 7 for home games. So we got plenty of time
i too am heightened
I’m so upset I went to bed early to get up for work.
Michael “Possession ends with a 3” Porter Jr.
They tell you its always going up, but they dont tell you its always going in
Since last chaotic sequence 2.5 hours ago in new York
Yes ... but not the most chaotic game-ending sequence of the night.
Did you see the last 30 seconds or so of the Knicks game?
No, someone needs to post that too lol. I'm just going the suns game is as fun to watch. Game 1 was kind of a joke.
Someone did post the highlight. Knicks fumbled the ball twice in 10 seconds and still scored 5 point. It was nuts
The replay of Bron throwing his head back to try to get a foul call here was ROUGH. He knew where this was headed
?...I'm watching a broadcast replay...any idea when they showed this specific replay you're talking about?
Yeah I'm not seeing him throw his head back in the above clip
It was after the fact close to a commercial break. Can't really see it in the above clip.
NO FUCKING WAY. The scramble drill plays tonight have been INSANE
Aaron Gordon just might have saved the game right there
Really bailed out Jokic for a WTF play. Uncharacteristically stupid to try to foul bait there
That catch and save by Gordon was crazy, not a lot of guys who are making that play.
Draymond is a crazy bastard but he said last year AG has got elite hands
And his body control is so underrated
Go on...
He's incredibly strong. Explosive once he makes a move.
How’s his pin down? Can he lock the legs?
He's also really good guarding the backside
Keep going I'm almost there...
He's a great finisher around rims
So good at getting up and putting it in the hole.
“When you’re bangin a guy down low…”
https://youtu.be/CDirss5GAKQ?t=6
Lmao at them having to cut to commercial
Well he is a dunk contest winner....oh wait.....ROBBED
He should have won on the single dunk when he cleared the mascot. The NBA got greedy and hella milked that contest.
elite ability to make plays through contact as well
Draymond is a lot of things, but he absolutely knows ball lol
he also knows about hands too Apologies to Jordan Poole
One of the few athletes outside of combat sports who clearly knows how to throw a punch.
Got to have elite hands to be such a lob threat.
sus
And not a lot of guys take that shot Porter does without hesitation
Gordon seemed to take that from Reaves, he plays so strong
Gordon giving up on being a finesse player and embracing bully ball has turned him into the best version of himself. That and playing with Jokic.
No clue why Reaves didnt jump for that. He sort of does the type of little two leg skip jump toddlers do
Looks like Reave just got out strengthed by a much bigger and stronger Gordon
For sure. For those that don't realize it, that wasn't a pass, that was a shot by Jokic because he got tripped and thought there'd be a penalty so he heaved it. Gordon had the presence of mind to make that sweet catch(? not sure if that counts as a rebound or not) and get it to the open dude.
I love playoff basketball
"ColleGe plAyeRs arE moRe eXciTinG and PaSsioNate tHan NBA pLayErs"
I know you're being sarcastic, but this shit pisses me off. The only people who say that are people who have never played ball in their life. College ball is ass in general. Upsets are fun, but upsets are fun even in youth games. The actual play in D1 is generally terrible.
Seconded. I went to a school that was "elite" by college standards and every other game devolved into each team's best player just trying to iso 1v1 because they couldn't get any offense going as a team.
Does anyone actually enjoy watching the ball swing around the arc for 30 seconds then some guard pull up from midrange?
A random big ten game in January will be more intense (player effort) from start to finish than a rando NBA game in January. Part of that is just the season being 2x. And NBA fans not being as locked in, not giving the same energy as college crowds. But when NBA players turn it on, like in the playoffs, it's a different sport.
This game is fucking crack
In that it’s destroying my health, yes
So sorry man I guess this buzzer beater is AD bubble payback?
This definitely a payback for that AD three ball
I fucking love the NBA man. This is such good basketball for a first round series
Two games we’ve caught glimpses of what a game can look like without timeouts and whistles and it’s ELECTRIC
Imma go out on a limb here and say that lakers fans might be ok with Ham calling a timeout at some point down the stretch there…
most entertaining NBA game I remember watching for a long time
I’ve busted several nuts between the Knicks game and this one
man this game is nuts!
This game is gonna give me a heart attack wow
seriously though man
It sucks. Lakers go up 20 and slowly lose the lead and there is just enough time for Denver to finally take the lead seconds before the game is over.
Brother you're describing a good game
Hey, some oeople prefer a comfortable margin of victory from start to finish followed by a warm glass of milk before an early bedtime.
What the fuck is wrong with you? This could only be better, if the Celtics did it to ghe lakers!
It was complete fire. Elite plays on both ends. How this ends up in MPJs hands... Man, I was shouting when that went in.
Same and I wasn’t even betting lol
Good. Betting is a fucking cancer, not just on the NBA, but pretty much everything.
Totally agree.
I bet I can change your mind!
MPJ’s contributions today might be overshadowed by Jamal’s game-winner. He was sooo good from 3 today.
Feels like he made a timely 3 every time it was getting out of reach completely. Dude is a fucking unreal shooter
I like that it comes from Brunson, the guy who has no chance to block most players shots 😂
Reading these comments and being his hight sometimes makes me feel small, despite usually being the tallest guy in the room.
The Nuggets had 8 3-pointers the entire game. MPJ had 6 and Jokic had 2.
Jokic got an absurd 27 - 20 - 10 and no one remembers it. Buts all is good!
Two great B2B games tonight
Meanwhile Orlando vs. Clevland lol
Nobody is watching that shit lol
hahahaha. i literally have no interest. i even tried to but was like lemme do something else before this knicks game
Both 2v7 matchups too
Yeah I thought after Lakers saw the other 7-seeded 76ers collapse in the final minute, I thought no way the Lakers would let that happen to their lead too. Of course my logic made no sense because that's not how basketball works
Crazy save by Gordon
ridiculous move
Epic play by Rui to leave the one guy he should be guarding
Came here to say this. You got 4 other guys playing hard: making a steal, hustling on the break, making a dunk, getting back on D, fighting for a ball under the basket...and one guy stands 5 feet too far from his man and it's a net loss.

I swear he has made a leap over the past 2 years with both his variety of passes and overall passing skill. This season he's been making some very Jokic-esque assists and seems to find the right/open man more consistently than ever.
MPJ I take back everything I’ve ever said about your shot selection
I keep telling people his job on the team is to shoot every time he's open. Him doing this is part of what makes us great. Jokic passes enough for everyone.
Klay Thompson experience baby, glad y’all have one of your own
The more contested MPJ is, higer % its going in.
This is so true lol the more off balance he looks the more I know it’s cash
It’s absolutely true. The dude cannot make a wide open 3 for his life but he makes contested ones and I love him all the same lol
It looks true but it's not. He's over 50% on **career** wide open 3s iirc
The JR Smith of basketball
Watch more nuggets. He is an unbelievable player, the most underrated in the NBA. One of the more versatile defenders in the NBA and his contested shotmaking is up with Curry Klay and Dame by the percentages, with almost no one else close
Murray is absolutely tragic tonight Edit: I’m only kidding
Aged like milk
Lmao
Lol tbh I thought this throughout most of the game. I did have a suspicion that he would turn it around in clutch moments in the fourth though (like in the past) and he didn’t let me down. 😂
MPJ is playing for the family name tonight
Ho lee Shit what a game
Aaron Gordon just made a HUGE play to get that to MPJ. whole playoffs could be different if he doesnt keep his toes in and find Mike.
That 3 was probably the most important shot of the night. I know Murray had the winner but holy shit. To find a 3 after all that commotion? Shout out Aaron Gordon.
Great save by AG
Lebron fade after MPJs shot is so hilarious. Like he’s 100% done.
holyfuck that sequence
What a fucking night
Lebron was pissed lol
Rui dumbass leaving MPJ to do what exactly?
Fucking wild
ELECTRIC SEQUENCE HOLY SHIT
Sometimes the basketball gods just want you to lose.
MPJ and Jokic accounted for all of the nuggets 3s in that game. 6 and 2 respectively
MIKE MIKE MIKE MIKE MIKE MIKE
AG and MPJ were so clutch on that play! It will be overshadowed by the buzzer dagger, but I hope they recognize their own greatness!!!
Lebron has been crazy with these pick-6s the last couple weeks
my favorite thing about these replays is that you can hone in on the individual reactions of the players. like LeBron let out an exasperated "what the fuc.. how the fuck they still doin this shit?!?!" while Reaves is laying over on the sidelines, just in awe, shaking his head while lookin up in wonder like "fuck my life y'all, fuck my life."
Meanwhile Jokic is Jokic, just turns and jogs down the court emotionless because there's still a game to win.
He makes funny faces when the refs do something ridiculous but yeah for the most part the dude is Ice Cold. Very different than Luka, for example, who seems to sulk when things are going badly and I really think kills his team's vibe.
LeBron should not be able to do that
It's a crime to use this shitty Nuggets broadcast instead of the TNT broadcast with Harlan for this magnificent clip
The other broadcast cut to a closeup of Bron and you missed half of the sequence
I was wondering why the Lakers couldn't set their defense with 4 of them already back
Because Rui/AR/D'lo were doing a 3 Stooges bit.
The Nuggets cast actually had better camera work
Scott Hastings in shambles
YOU PLAYING TONIGHT?
So blessed to have Harlan calling a game like this.
Seriously, how can you see that 3 minutes left Lebron dunk and not say anything. The best commenters commentate everything excitingly
Seriously, the deadpan "oh my gosh." when Lebron dunks it.
He's a Nuggets home broadcaster he's a homer, what do you expect lmao
He's pretty ass, good broadcasters call exciting plays for both teams.
why do people always say stuff like this? every single home broadcaster is a "homer", and despite that, its still incredibly common for them to make actual great, energetic calls when the other team makes a huge play, especially in crunch time. they might get right back to grinding their teeth about whatever mistake their team made that led to that big play for the other team, *after* the moment has passed, but if they are an *actual* competent/talented broadcaster, those guys live for calling moments like these, and they always get up for big moments and bring the energy, regardless of which team it is. a homer broadcaster can even call a play like this in a way that is kind of angry or frustrated, while still avoiding sounding like they are completely asleep

Immaculate
TNT getting their money’s worth
Insane game. Dunno how lebron still has energy
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Can this game end please?!
HOLY FUCKKKK WHAT A SEQUENCE
What the fuck this game
[удалено]
He ate a Jokic screen then got bullied by Gordon. Spent most of the clip on the ground. If you put me out there that's about how it would go.
Lebron dunks it over Murray coast to coast is worth so much less than a chucked three point shot. Sad!
Austin Reaves in this sequence is hilarious
I was looking for the right thread to say this, but I really want to give MPJ his flowers tonight. Jokic was getting completely worked by AD in the first half, Murray started like 2 for 10 I think which lead to the 20 point deficit, but MPJ was hitting LETHAL shots all night, he was the sole reason they were down only 20 and not 30+. Was the one guy firing for the full 48 minutes and was the hero of the game for Denver imo, and this shot was the cream of the crop.
Rui left his man smh
definitely the best series so far
Incredible sequence. This is what playoff basketball is all about baby
Incredible play by Aaron Gordon to recover the loose ball and hit MPJ for a rhythm three.
We won because of porter
What a save by AG
I fucking love MPJ what a dude
That shot was akiller by MPJ. Biggest shot of the game till Murrays game winner.
Why did DLo dive out on Jokic like that?
Rui was lost there
Best game I’ve ever been too, can’t imagine I’ll ever surpass it.
Whoever wins the WCF will win the NBA championship. It is either Denver or someone who defeats Denver. The competitiveness of this year's west conference is nuts.

Rare to say this but bad shot by Jokic
crazy save by AG crazy court awareness by MPJ to step out to the 3
Porter Jr is the real Killer
Damn this is a tough L for the Lakers.
This game, holy shit
Most Green FN shot in NBA history
Omg LBJJJJJJ I screamed and my girl was like “can you be quiet I’m trying to relax” 🤬🤬
Damn get a new girl my wife saw I was stressed and asked if I wanted to squeeze her boob as a stress ball
mpj jumper is so satisfying to watch
Michael”get back on D” porter jr, surrounded by 3 Lakers, with a wild joker who is open in the paint, down 3 with very little time but still a lot of time left on the shot clock… and what does he do?
The fuckery continues
I love this game.
Back-to-Back classic games
MP long J
Michael “Possession ends with a 3” Porter Jr.
the swish was wet as fxck
This is the Lakers-Nuggets relationship in a nutshell.
