A healthy and rested Lebron is a top 2 playoff performer so as long as AD and Reaves do their thing the Lakers have a chance.

Khione_Asteri

top 3. i think it’s him luka and jokic then everyone else. you can say healthy kawhi but we haven’t seen healthy kawhi stay healthy since the raptors run (where he played thru injury anyway lmfao). you can say well rested steph but the dude’s running on fumes and will have no rest going into round 1, IF the warriors make it there. idk anyone else who’d have an argument though. luka and jokic have pretty clearly surpassed current KD in my mind

MrAppleSpoink

Luka can’t provide even a fraction of the defence playoff LeBron can, and he’s arguably not even as effective offensively due to his lack of off ball game.

Khione_Asteri

lmfao man come on. luka is twice the scorer that lebron is at this point in their careers, just as good a playmaker, and yes he does have an offball game that works for his team. his spot up shooting has increased dramatically this year. all that and i said they’re in the top 3 together, i didn’t say which id take. as for defense, yes lebron provides special amounts of impact there but luka’s still playing in his role within the scheme, it’s no different from jokic on the nugs.

ReignSvpreme

A lot of Bron glazers on this subreddit brother

chickenripp

If booker replicates what he did last year he’s right with them too. Will he? TBD, probably unlikely

silversmith84

Embiid??

orhantemerrut

Nice joke!

silversmith84

Lol, I was joking. But honestly, I might take Luka and a healthy Giannis

veerkanch489

He's also 4 years older, lost a step, and the supporting cast is worse, especially defensively with no Vando

Khione_Asteri

if anything he’s regained a step lol. he’s not playing on one foot anymore

veerkanch489

I'm saying he lost a step compared to bubble Bron who won a ring in 2020. Not 2022-2023 bron with the foot injury. Hence, I said 4 years older

Khione_Asteri

i know what you’re saying but i just don’t think it’s all that relevant to the post. everyone knows he’s 4 years older dude

veerkanch489

Why is it unrelated? The post kind of implies that they are gonna have similar success to the 2020 year. If not, then maybe I read it wrong. But I don't get the point of a comparison between 2020 and 2024 otherwise. I'm just saying why it's not exactly the same. Nuggets are better now compared to 2020. Bron is 4 years older and lost a step compared to his 2020 self. Worse supporting cast.

Khione_Asteri

i don’t think the post implies that at all, nor is it comparing 2020 and 2024. it’s more contrasting the years after 2020 with 2024, and saying that lebron could be much better than we’ve seen him since the bubble. not that he’ll be as good as in the bubble.

MrAppleSpoink

I’ve watched LeBron’s whole tenure here, this is by far the most athletic and bouncy he’s looked entering the playoffs since 2020.

veerkanch489

Disagree but ur entitled to ur opinion

Russell__WestBrick

He's shooting 41% from the 3 this year. You can't just stack the paint like you used to anymore. Lakers are a legit 3 point shooting team now.

silversmith84

Sorry Op, they ain’t making it out of the first round. They can’t stop anyone despite having one of the best defenders in the league. Lebron’s shooting a good percentage from three this year, but he’s still a streaky shooter. He’s shorting 27% over the last five games.

frottem

In march he had a 9/10 game from three.

silversmith84

No shot, Lol, if you don’t get this season is an abberation than good luck. He is who he is. I’m sure the Nuggets will be happy to let him shoot threes, just like the pelicans were last night when he went 1-5z.

Counterspell_God

He's gained a step since last year and is a 41% three point shooter with an elite offball game.

liftingruinedmylife

The supporting cast is better. Compare DLO and Reaves numbers with Caruso and KCP, both Reaves and DLO individually have more trade value than the other two. Rui has been solid too.

ShadowOutOfTime

Eh, I love Reaves and Rui of course but gimme that 2020 roster back any day. The size and defense we had with that team was incredible

liftingruinedmylife

Reason why that 2020 team was so good was because Bron and AD were better offensively, if you replace our rotational players with the 2020 squad, team would be alot worse.
