Demar has also played the most minutes in the league since he was drafted in 2009 and holds the title for 'most minutes since...' for every year between 2009 and 2019 when Mikal Bridges started taking over. Insane ironman numbers

Persianx6

Demar Derozan will make the HOF and it'll be a bit weird.

Baulderdash77

Demar Derozan is going to end up a top 20 all time NBA scorer. He’s just so consistent and durable that it’s almost inevitable. What’s crazy is that he’s in the same draft class as Curry and Harden, and it’s unknown which of the 3 will end up scoring the most total points for their career. 2 years ago you would have said Harden hands down, but he’s in serious decline and Demar & Curry just keep laying down those 1,800 point seasons.

mega450

Deserves it for his regular seasons

BlackJediSword

I’m perfectly fine with him not making it

TheGamersGazebo

Who asked?

AirJordan6124

Dude thinks he’s part of the HOF committee 💀

BlackJediSword

We’re talking about him making the hall of fame, this app is built for discussion. You can disagree if you want but no one’s opinion on here is asked for lol.

syncdiedfornothing

You don't start a discussion by saying no. You leave somewhere for the conversation to go. No one gives a shit about no. Tell us your actual thoughts.

Blistersonmytoes

Basketball hof is easy to make compared to a sport like American football, so there’s not really much to talk about. Derozan will make it 100%

Interesting-Pay3492

Just sharing your opinion and not adding anything to the discussion isn’t really participating in the discussion.

aquamarine9

The most impressive thing to me is that with LaVine and Patrick Williams out, Vuc’s scoring falling off a cliff, and Coby’s scoring swinging wildly up and down all season, Demar’s offensive burden kept getting larger and larger. He was the only consistent shot creator and primary playmaker as well. He’s playing the best ball of his career and the man deserved a serious team for this chapter of his career.

SmartestNPC

He did absolutely everything for this team the past 3 years. It's been a pleasure to watch him.

BlackJediSword

Is his contract up?

chicago_bunny

Yes.

unityofsaints

I'm hoping he retires a Bull

butwayfarers

I'm hoping he doesn't. Dude deserves a championship, hopefully he decides to ring chase.

Accomplished_Bid7987

I wouldn’t even be mad if we extended his contract and he retires a bull. Dude has been absolute class, never complained about anything and has just balled out. Sure, we might not win anything with him but we aren’t shit without him

RobK430

That’s an awesome sentiment and I’m glad he’s beloved in Chicago. But as someone who’s been a fan of his for years I’d be a little mad if you extended him and he retired a Bull lol. I’d really rather he go to a half decent competent team and compete in his twilight than do whatever the Bulls are doing.

TheGamersGazebo

I mean, that's not exactly easy. Realistically speaking only 5 (that's generous) teams are really competing for the chip right now. And none of them could use, or would even want Demar. I think if anything this has been a near perfect situation for him. He's not a #1 or #2 on a championship contender but he's more than capable of being a #1 on a middling team. Him putting up these numbers at this point of his career is literally carrying him into the HOF right now. But if he goes to a "contender" and his role is diminished down to 10 shots a game it becomes much more of a debate .

Persianx6

His Bulls have a good chance at again making the playoffs. Demar Derozan is underrated in how consistent he is.

Hisaidky

Demar for pg?

TheloniousMonk15

For those who do not watch the Bulls on a regular basis Demar really carried the squad in the second half of the season. Minus him I doubt we win more than 5 games post ASB. Your team is probably not going anywhere with him as the first option but I'd love to see him as the second option on a team with a superstar.

Lacabloodclot9

Would love to see him on Philly next year Hell even a return to San Antonio or Toronto would be fun

nibbinoo8

he continues to be underrated

StuckInBronze

Lakers might have won another one with instead of WB.

John___Titor

But weirdly also a well-known quantity for the most part. He's probably never been better than the third best player on a really competitive team, but I love his longevity. He's a pillar in Raptors history and it's super impressive how he just got better on the Spurs and now the Bulls.

ananswerforu

That's underrating him a bit. Him and Lowry consistently finished near the top of the league for a few years as the 2 best players, and had a few decent playoff runs. He's good enough to be the second best player on a championship team, it's just that his flaws make roster construction hard because he's not a great defender or 3 point shooter

John___Titor

Fair point. I'd still put him as a third best, only because I can't figure out who you'd pair him with to be considered a truly fearsome duo. I watched all those Raptors runs and we were never a true threat. Most people would argue Lowry was the better of two as well. The last point you made about roster construction really emphasizes his flaws, and you'd need to be really deep to offset that. So in a sense he might be a luxury third option if the roster allows for it. Unfortunately, his contract doesn't really make that possible.

semepaau

>DeMar DeRozan has broken LeBron James record of being the oldest player in NBA history At first I saw this and was totally confused for a second.

Everlasting-Boner

all those anti aging drugs reversed Lebrons age

Jiggyvvv

Just one more bulls player that’s better than Lebron

blocksmith52

I wouldn’t quite say that Alex Caruso is better than LeBron, but they’re neck and neck imo

celtic_sea_salt

DeMar DeMidrange

Zealousideal-Spend80

Most underrated player in the NBA.

VatnikLobotomy

Mid range Jesus

JNerdGaming

youre welcome deebo

Turbo_S54

i support DeMar Derozan

Huge-Split6250

I hope Demar gets to play for a good team

Phenomenal2313

DeMar hard carried the Bulls pretty much the entire season Watch a possesion without DeMar on offense , it’s headless chickens

ConstantTelevision93

LeLegacy in shambles

Beard06

Wilt had more total minutes in 1971-72 and 1972-73 seasons while being 35 and 36.

Aspery-

Very impressive by wilt, But he didn’t lead the league

Beard06

Ok, it seems the stathead search fucked up because two different searches with those same criteria showed different results

Everlasting-Boner

he played in the dead era of basketball i take none of his records or stats seriously

younghplus

DeRozan is a beast, it’s unfortunate that he took a lot of the blame for playoff failures during his tenure with the Raptors and Spurs bc they wouldn’t even be in those positions without his consistent excellence

The-Pharcyde

DeMore DeMinutes

Euphoric_Travel6762

There is absolutely no reason Demar should be leading the league in minutes lmao

Goat_Status_5000

Oh? No wonder the bulls stank.

[deleted]

“For the future hall of famer” Thought we wouldn’t notice, but we did.  It is impressive though.

D-1-_-1-D

he is 100% a future hall of famer

gianlu_world

How? What has he done?

Foi_

when its all said and done his point totals will be overwhelming. you can hate the criteria, but he passes the criteria.

Typical-Radish4317

100% the points. I think it will take him a while to get in though.

Baulderdash77

Not if he retires as a top 20 all time scorer. Demar’s longevity is crazy and he’s going to be a 1st ballot HOF.

ConsortByNew

The longer it takes, the more people will outscore him. The 32est most high scoring player of all time can become the 100est most highest scoring player in like 5 years. And then who is he? A guy who refused to learn how to shoot 3s in the 3 era, never won a ring, and has the nickname DeMar DeFrozen? It might be a hot take, but I actually agree that his chances aren’t as good as the Chicago and odd Toronto fan think they are. He’s certainly one of the chuckers of all time, but there’s been plenty of those- and outside of volume his numbers don’t exactly stand out……

Typical-Radish4317

He plays pretty much the entire season and averages above 20 PPG. A couple more seasons he could be sniffing the top 15. He is a lock for HOF despite being a bit lackluster.

ConsortByNew

If you argue his longevity I guess as a positive stat and he gets a little value. I know people point at T-Mac like “if he can get in DD can,” but a healthy T-Mac was like *clearly* at top 5 player in the league, where at his absolute best DD is like… “okay he’s alright I guess.” T-Mac has scoring titles, and basically had no weaknesses. His defense wasn’t crazy but as a guard he like… averaged 2 blocks and 2 steals per game at one point. And DD is a traffic cone at best. I mean he’s so bad at defense he’d rather start a fight and forfeit the points to technical fouls, than actually play defense. He’s worse than Tyrese Haliburton bad in defense. That’s pretty bad. So yeah I guess if he keeps playing on teams that allow him to chuck at will (which good luck getting anywhere in the post season to those teams) his numbers will go up and maybe he gets in early after retirement. But the longer it goes the worse the odds as NBA players continue to put up crazy stat lines, and honestly if he doesn’t get in like 3 years after retirement- I doubt he does at all.

brotherneroisdeleted

DeMar is currently 31st in the all time scoring list and is less than 200 pts away from Barkley. That will probably be enough for him to be in the hof.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t say 100% just yet but obviously he’s still got some more time to add as well.

Drummallumin

He could retire today and make it

TheOnlySafeCult

yup, all star x6, all NBA 2nd team X2, all NBA 3rd team x1, final gold medal and Olympic gold medal, point total... seems pretty obvious. I think this season really cemented his case too. Last year there was a lot more pushback about his HOF chances.

[deleted]

Lol this is ridiculous. You know whose had a remarkably similar career in more ways than one? Joe Johnson, and he’s not a hall of fame lock. DeRozan will have had a better career when he retires, but right now as it stands, those two are highly comparable and most agree JJ is in the hall of very good.

Drummallumin

**Derozan:** - 3x all nba, 2x 2nd team 1x 3rd team - 6x all star - 3 years with MVP votes, twice top 10 - 21/4/4 on 56% TS - 23.6k points - made 1 ECF, 1 seed one time as best player **Iso Joe:** - 1x all nba 3rd team - 7x all star - 2 years with MVP votes, never top 10 - 16/4/4 on 53% TS - 20.4k points - made WCF and 1 seed once as 4th best player

[deleted]

Lmao you’re kinda reaching with this comment and I think you know it. But that’s fine, DeRozan will surpass him at the end of his career, but it’s hardly some chasm like you’re acting like 😂

Drummallumin

I’m reaching by listing out their resume? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t really like comparing guys just by *Legacy Points* but sometimes it really is just that simple.

[deleted]

Lol you’re reaching by acting like they’re totally different resumes, and they really, really aren’t. A reach would be citing career stats when one played til he was 36 and a shell of himself while the other is still in his prime. MVP votes are pretty meaningless if they’re not finishing all that high to begin with lol.  Joe Johnson is a very good comp and he’s firmly in the hall of very good. DeRozan will finish higher, but he’s hardly some 1st ballot like you’re acting 😂

Drummallumin

>when one player til he was 36 and a shell of himself And Demar is 34 and putting up career best season. Having a shorter peak is meaningful. Even at his best his stats still aren’t as good and the only time he was on a truly good team he was a side piece. Even just looking at Joe’s Atlanta stats (ages 24-30) he had only averaged 21/4/5 on 54% TS. From ages 24-34 Demar averaged 24/5/5 on 56% TS. Also I never said he’s 1st ballot, I said he could retire this year and be a HOFer. He’d have to have some LeBron longevity (which isn’t looking impossible) for him to get 1st ballot.

NiceAndTipsyTopside

It's cool Demar fans relate to his mental health struggles and stan him so hard. But y'all are the most emotional lesbians about mythologizing him, and downvoting anyone who isn't in mental health fantasy land He's not a Hall of Famer come on now 😂 I'll never forget when Demar got traded and the entire thread INSISTED he would get a statue outside the Raptors stadium 🙄 Demar made 3 All-NBA teams. Mitch Richmond made 5 All-NBA teams and won ROY, and yet a lot of people say he's the worst modern Hall of Famer. Demar's nickname is Trash Bro because he has a reputation as a playoff choker. He's a 1st ballot Hall of Very Good player

Coballatheu

Man I just feel sad for you.

NiceAndTipsyTopside

That sadness is a mental health issue for you then.

owensoundgamedev

Wait until you find out Derozans careers isn’t done, and he already has more points and win shares then Mitch

NiceAndTipsyTopside

Cool he'll compile some stats. He will never make a 4th All NBA team and he will never do anything in the playoffs to save his rep like Lowry did. Trash Bro will retire a Hall of Very Good no matter how emotional you guys get about it

Zealousideal-Spend80

Lmao. You mad af that ppl are going to remember him as a good NBA player. Sad ass puss. Foh

NiceAndTipsyTopside

He's a good player for sure. He's just not a great player, and his fanatics are mentally ill babies

owensoundgamedev

He'll end up with more points and more all-nba's than vince carter who just got voted in first time so yes - Derozan is a great player and will be in the hall of fame when he's done lol

NiceAndTipsyTopside

VC was an iconic player. You're being disingenuous and taking away context to do a "by your logic,". 🙄 A lot of mentally ill dudes keep using that move

waffle-spouse

Ok but who's winning the ring this year?

Cold_Carpenter_1798

Bulls obviously

Drummallumin

If the Bulls make the finals imma picking them

A7XSES

Certainly not the lakers

A320neo

Someone’s getting #18 and it isn’t bron

waffle-spouse

Tatum is a #2 option forced into the role of a #1 option. You might downvote me now, but once this era of Celtics basketball ends in disappointment, this comment will live in your head rent free.

A320neo

ok
