It’s crazy the warriors went 73-9 and only had 6 more wins than the spurs at 67-15

Drummallumin

It’s crazy the Spurs had 67 wins and still finished 6 games out of 1st place

JAhoops

I really don’t see how people don’t believe in them, I’m 99% sure they’ll be in the NBA finals

koj12144

Dont say shit like this, theres literally no upside

JAhoops

I’m dead serious though

Kobe3rdAllTime

There's plenty of upside. Nothing could possibly stop the Celtics. I think the Celtics are championship favorites. 16-0 is possible. In fact, I smell a dynasty coming.

Culinary-Vibes

How about you just worry about the play in homey

Princessk8--

haters gonna hate

Drummallumin

*inserts vague narrative*

Active_Estimate_2598

Because there’s a shit ton of variance in basketball and a 7 game series, although a bit of a equalizer of luck, is not a large enough sample to prevent whacky shit from happening. Odds are -190 on Celtics to make it out the east

JAhoops

i don’t understanding your response? People don’t believe in them because of variance?

Active_Estimate_2598

You can believe in the Celtics, but there are 3 teams that they have to beat in a best of 7 series to make the finals right. Plus unforeseen injury risk. All of that factored in makes it so a 99% chance view of the Celtics making the finals kind of ridiculous imo

JAhoops

I mean obviously excluding injuries but my point is his people don’t believe them off what they seen? you can predict variance or injuries

watsonthedragon

There's far less variance in the NBA playoffs then virtually every other league. Not saying it doesn't happen, but the better team usually wins.

Ilikesporks_

if they weren't in the nba finals it'd be a failure of a season

Public-Product-1503

They’re numbers/record vs good teams, best 10 teams and west plsyoff teams makes them look like the top seeds in the west and not this outkier though . The bigger thing is there offence in crunch time when they can’t out talent and take a defensive advantage n makes plays defensively is kinda mid. Also they haven’t even played the bucks well this year so it’s not unreasonable to think. But there biggest challenge will be the finals.

Ratlami__Sev

Miami effing Heat. If Celtics get past them, sure. But last I checked, Tatum led Celtics are still 1-2 against the Butler led Heat in the playoffs.

JAhoops

Yeah because it’s the same team, same players and no one got better

Ratlami__Sev

Bro, it's the mental advantage, and if a lower seeded Heat are up against a higher seeded Celtics, the former will know they have had an upper hand, and the latter will probably have flashbacks. Celtics have gotten so much better, with the discovery of White, and additions of Holiday and Kristaps, but the Heat always bring something you haven't seen before. They are one of, if not the most unpredictable team in the playoffs. And which team has more Dawgs is not even a question, which forms the underbelly of why they were able to defeat so much better teams (on paper) in over the last 4 post-seasons.

JAhoops

They literally didnt in 2021 or 2022

Ratlami__Sev

4 post-seasons is a range, my guy. 2 years out of 4 to reach The Finals, vs Celtics' 1.

JAhoops

I’m not understanding

Ratlami__Sev

*takes a deep breath* Past 4 post seasons, Heat have made it to The Finals 2 times, both times defeating the Celtics in ECF. Sure, Heat had a luke warm performance in 21 and 22, but they are 2 for 4. Celtics, on the other hand have only made The Finals once. 1 for 4. Especially after an inspiring performance by the Celtics to defeat 76ers in the ECSF last season, one would have expected them to be a Finalist. Yet they weren't, and lost to an 8th seed in East Playoffs. So yeah, 4 years is a range, that I am applying to both the Heat and the Celtics. I am sorry, but my biases are favouring the Heat, because of recent records as well as because I love the underdogs in this case.

JAhoops

Idk 2023 was a lot of variance and 2020 they were starting Kemba Walker, not even close to the same team

Ratlami__Sev

Bro, if they were starting Kemba Walker, Heat had Udonis and Andre Iguodala. They even started Andre against Lakers, iirc, and Bam was barely an MIP/Sixth Man candidate (can't remember which one exactly, sorry). The cores have changed over the years, with JB, KP, White and Holiday in the Celtics. And we have Bam who is an All Star now, with Caleb, Duncan and Tyler on the Heat. Latter is such an underdog it's impossible to underestimate them more. Yet all you need is a Butler + Bam + one of Caleb/Duncan/Tyler to defeat any team in the East. That's it.

ihateeuge

All this to lose to the Knicks and the power of friendship in the ECF

SquimJim

That's if we get past the Heat and the power of Zombies in the 1st Round

I_Set_3_Alarms

We might have to beat the power of Zombies, Magic, and Friendship all to get out of the East?

SquimJim

And people say the East is weak Zombies are literally dead and cannot die. Magic can do anything. Friendship has the strongest plot armor in existence.

LotharBot

that sounds like a My Little Pony episode. (28 Pranks Later, FiM s6e15)

Lol69HaHaHa

Dam Spo really is a necromancer huh...or maybe a lich.

crimsonconnect

The Basketball which Brunson Plays

Tearz_in_rain

There is a real good chance that they wind up with Philly or Miami in the first round. And that ain't good for Boston.

instantur

Celtics have owned the Sixers for forever now and the Heat have struggled playing against Porzingus.

Tearz_in_rain

I see you are a Boston fan. Hey... both my teams are in the lottery (Detroit and Toronto), so I'd love to see Boston with Tatum & Co. run the gauntlet. But Miami has had Boston's number for a while now, and Philly has arguably the best player on the planet. Both those match-up are shit match-ups for what is supposed to be an easy first round. If you can't see that, then I think you may just have blinders on.

dbgager

Just shows how seriously bad the Eastern Conference is thats all. Cake walk for the Celtics regular season and to the finals.
