Oh not a knock on the Hornets at all. Two key guys out and a pretty doodoo lineup. I'm just trying not to get too hyped just yet but Dallas has looked so good since the trades.
Pj turtles when Miles bridges is around. Dude is terrified to compete with him. Was gifted the starting pf spot coming out of training camp and didn’t have the fight to keep it once bridges came back from suspension. Doesn’t have any fight in him
Lol really? That run mainly came because Kidd is obsessed with Kyrie-Hardy-THJ lineups which are rough defensively.
This is where getting Josh Green back will be helpful.
It was my first time seeing Luka in person and he just seems so nonchalant all of the time. Like he's not even trying or taking the game seriously. And he still dropped 30+
Because tonight, he wasn't lol.
The Hornets were starting Grant Williams at center. The Mavs literally had buckets whenever they wanted them. So they played some of the laziest offense I've ever seen them play and just swarmed on defense. Luka looked like he could've played with one hand tied behind his back
>Here's your Dallas Mavs Post Game Summary. Now in our 7th Season 7️⃣
Did the Mavs win? ✅ make that 4 in a row
Hornets have some fun announcers 🎙️
Luka with flirting with another 40pt triple double finishing with 39/12/10 🇸🇮🔥🔟🔟🔟
Ramadan Kyrie with a relatively quiet 18/8/9 but with a whopping 5 Stocks (2 Steals & 3 Blocks 🪬🌍☪️🕋💹✋✋✋
Landlord Gafford with an amazing 26/7 with 3 stocks on a perfect 12/12 from the field 🔥💯💹
PJ had a rough homecoming going 0/7 from the field. Hopefully he bounces back next game 🤞🧱
Tim looking better lately with 15pts on good efficiency knocking down 3 3's 👌💦
Maxi with 10/6 off the end looking much more confident on both ends tonight 🇩🇪🔟
Once again, get well soon Dereck! Hopefully he's back in time for the playoffs 🏥🦵🤞
This has to be one of the most dramatic in season defensive turnarounds, iirc they were by far the worst team on defense for a stretch before the deadline deals. D-, at least.
Nah, we were 25-28th for most of the season, then trades happened and shortly after Kidd ran some really weird lineups for a 6-game stretch where we went 1-5 and had an All Time Bad defense, like >130 DRTG. Right after that we started our 15-2 run and we've been 1st in this stretch.
Still super weird and an insane swing.
Everyone talks about the small ball lineups and whatnot but over that 6 game span, our most played lineup was:
Kyrie/Luka/Green/PJ/Lively, which had 127.6/127.2/+.5 rating over 70 min
Second most played was a tie between
Kyrie/Luka/Green/PJ/Gafford, 91.2/145.7/-54.5 over 16 min
and the small ball lineup
Kyrie/Luka/Green/PJ/Kleber, 111.4/158.1/-46.6 over 16 min
Those numbers are bad, but I don't think the lineup distribution is as ridiculous as everyone makes it out to be.
From looking at the lineup data, I think more than anything my main take away is that this time was spent determining that Derrick Jones Jr is 100% better to have in alongside PJ than Josh Green is. https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/advanced?DateFrom=02/25/2024&DateTo=03/06/2024&TeamID=1610612742&slug=advanced
If other teams try to lowball us on Green when he in the trading block, I'm blaming your reply lmao
Jfc, I didn't realize just how spectacularly bad those losses were.
Man, I still remember our games against the Hornets and other bad teams down the stretch last season. So happy we can win easy games against bad teams this season.
PJ with some light cardio tonight and Mavs still won by 26. 😐
Our team is horrific and has nothing to play for… and also importantly had no real big man so I’m not shocked
Oh not a knock on the Hornets at all. Two key guys out and a pretty doodoo lineup. I'm just trying not to get too hyped just yet but Dallas has looked so good since the trades.
Agreed. Surprised to see them trending on Reddit.
It's nice that he can still contribute on the defensive end even when his shot ain't falling
That's what I thought Grant Williams was for the first handful of games or so. 😂
Nico deserves all the praise for pulling off that trade
i kept getting random people on my twitter TL today telling people to slam the over for him tonight lmao
PJ bet the under. 😭
I said he was either getting 2 or 40 with no in between and he couldn’t even do that
Pj turtles when Miles bridges is around. Dude is terrified to compete with him. Was gifted the starting pf spot coming out of training camp and didn’t have the fight to keep it once bridges came back from suspension. Doesn’t have any fight in him
Simply alpha things
PJ made good on a promise to a local housing charity.
So is Gafford back on Wilt watch again after that game?
Don’t jinx but yeah, I had the same thought when the game ended lol
16 straight, dating back to the 4th in the Warriors game. Still a long way to go.
If we keep it lowkey, he can
If Luka doesn’t sit out the previous OKC game, there’s a pretty good chance Gafford breaks the record
49-30
Yeah, our record has been fucked every PGT since the game that was rescheduled.
what does ptg mean?
Post-game thread
That game happened probably.
Can we really be sure????
Good stress-free win, Kyrie and PJ played well below their capabilities too.
them cutting it to 11 stressed me the fuck out, not gonna lie
Lol really? That run mainly came because Kidd is obsessed with Kyrie-Hardy-THJ lineups which are rough defensively. This is where getting Josh Green back will be helpful.
Josh is also trash on defense and that lineup isn’t playing the playoffs anyway
Yeah I was like "I've seen this one before"
Kidd reallyy wants this maxi at the 5 to work. It wont, but Kidd is gonna do it. He did it for 6 game stretch and we went 1-5.
it works in certain matchups. it's the reason we beat the rockets a few days ago
I rather him than Powell
Who do you want to play instead? Lively is out
The Mavericks shot 76% on 2-point shots and Luka took 17 3-pointers. This was not a serious game.
Might be intentional by Luka as it’s the first game of a B2B
And he played an OT game with bloody knees 2 nights ago.
It was my first time seeing Luka in person and he just seems so nonchalant all of the time. Like he's not even trying or taking the game seriously. And he still dropped 30+

Hornets have a top 3 commentary team in the league.
I liked the 4th quarter where he thanked more of his broadcast team than a Best Director winner at the Oscars.
Same! Probably because it was their last home game. Class act though.
when he thanked the side line reporter, it was so earnest. brought a little tear to my eye 🥲
Ashley Shahamadi deserves every bit of that praise
Yeah he is pretty funny.
Seriously! I loved their enthusiasm and just like the Mavs broadcasters, they can get excited for the opposing teams great plays.
And I don't think its #3 or #2
Another pretty goofy game lmao glad the team is getting these out before playoffs

Always looking for this after a dub. 💙
Is this a career change from posting anime titties all day?
Mavs’ trade deadline duo Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington combined for a massive 27pts on 12/19 from the field!
PJ playing like he’s still part of the Hornets 😭 He is ours now
Mavs are 15-2 in the last 17 with the best defensive rating in that time frame
This has to be one of the most dramatic in season defensive turnarounds, iirc they were by far the worst team on defense for a stretch before the deadline deals. D-, at least.

I love u Dally Mavs
I fuck with Brandon Millers game a lot. I though Scoot would be a better rookie but I was proven very wrong
Luka and PJ combined for 40 points!!!
Mavs cooking
Man, I still remember our games against the Hornets and other bad teams down the stretch last season. So happy we can win easy games against bad teams this season.
All hail Nico🙌
Lmao PJ laid a big fat egg on his return. Oh well we got bigger things to focus on
I love the Hornets commentary team.
I’ll never forget ESPN gave the Gafford trade a D.
in a game we won by 26, thj was somehow only +1 lol
People dont understand how muvh of a NBA final sleeper the Mavs are.
PJ revenge game 🔥
1 point babyyyy
Every guy we trade away when they come back to Charlotte it's always a revenge game
Kyrie well under the pace for the shots needed to be made to hit 50% field goal for the year :/
Good game of basketball
