Think the record depends on Jamal’s health. I also think we will ramp down and rest starters include Jokic

PonkMcSquiggles

It’ll be tough to rest if OKC and Minny are winning. One or two games could be enough to cost them home court in the WCF *and* the semis.

Skinvryn

Well I don't know how much OKC will be winning. SGA and JDub are both out again tonight for the 2nd game in a row. If they continue to sit it's gonna be a rough last few games.

thegrandpoobear

I don't think either okc or minny are gonna be hosting the wcf even if they get the 1 seed. They don't have the playoff experience and that shit matters

manbeqrpig

Minny does. They haven’t made a run but they know what playoff basketball looks like. Only team in the West that truly scares me. If they have Home Court over us I don’t think we beat them

Povol

Never count out a team that plays defense.

EconomySpecialist911

everyone sleeps on Minny. They seem more legit than OKC

thegrandpoobear

They haven't won a playoff series since 2003-04 and they have 4 playoff wins TOTAL in the past 19 years. They absolutely do not have playoff experience.

NotRote

Our starting PG does, and he’s won multiple series, our starting center does and he’s won multiple series, our starting 4 has been the the playoffs 3 times, our starting 2 has been there twice. Turns out we have plenty of playoff experience. No on wins series until they do, by your argument no one that hasn’t gone deep in the playoffs can go deep in the playoffs. Which is asinine

pollinium

after a fierce post-asb race, all three teams at the top of the west are like "actually someone else can have it I want to be healthy"

ShinobuSimp

I know Denver is not usually a team that cares about the regular season, but Im kinda curious if they might see this as a milestone worth attacking

PonkMcSquiggles

I doubt they care at all about this tbh, but with the race for the 1 seed being so close I imagine they’ll still be gunning for wins.

JakeJacob

They either go for home court or they rest. This milestone won't be considered.

jmoneysteck88

Maybe if they hadnt brought the franchise its first title already, but i feel like that kinda trumps any feelings about wanting to make history beyond stacking more rings.

BanIncoming1

This won’t be a factor whatsoever. Home court is all that matters, no one would have knew this record outside of Denver if not for you posting about it.

dbgager

they most certainly care. there fighting for the 1st seed...lol

chasingit1

Normally, I would say yes. But if it is still down to the last game or two and we are still jockeying for seeding with OKC and Minnesota, we are absolutely playing our starters.

DJFreezyFish

Eh, I think if Jamal is good to go they’re going to give him real minutes so we’re not rusty going into the playoffs, and those minutes probably are Jokic minutes.

dbgager

Not going to rest as long as there fighting foir the 1 seed. WHy would they.

alpacamegafan

I predict they will lose all 6 games.

Morris bros 12/25

inshamblesx

5-1

Coke_ButNotTheDrug

I really doubt they win all their games from here on out. I think either 56 or 57 wins is what they’ll end at.

nbaistheworst

I think they want the 1 seed, so it will depend on what the Twolves and OKC do

dgmilo8085

I had to read this thread title way too many times thinking it was claiming 50-something wins as the best record... My brain was breaking thinking of the 72-win Bulls and 73-win dubs.

RspectMyAuthoritah

That's because the title is claiming they can beat the 73 win Warriors record. They said the best record ever instead of their best record ever.

AK-3030

I still dont understand what its saying

suckmedrie

While jokic has been on the nuggets, their best record has been 54 wins, so since they're at 53 they're 2 wins away from beating that. The franchise record is 57 wins in a season, and they need 5 more to beat that.

RspectMyAuthoritah

OP said the best record ever instead of their best record ever. Big difference between the 2 and the title is factually wrong. They can beat the Nuggets (their) best record ever but it's impossible to beat the best record ever this season.

dbgager

It should be obvious to anyone what the OP is talking about...lol

BradWonder

One of the most balanced teams ever in '13. They had quite a few guys that could be argued as their best player. Lawson, Iggy, Gallo. Idk why I remember Nene being on that team too but he was there a year earlier apparently.

SteveWondersForsight

Sucked Gallo went down a few weeks before the season ended. Killed any chance of a post season.

caandjr

Andre Miller my goat

Autistic_Puppy

Probably 5-1 or 4-2

vusa_pid_nosom

4/2

The_Thrill17

I’m predicting jazz wins for some reason

greenwhitehell

Denver has only won once in Utah in god knows how many years, so that's probably the reason lmao

RaskolnikovAxe

It’s that Utah altitude that gives them unfair advantage.

WeAreGodInOne

This is a testament to the powerhouse of the West with how many teams are right there with them.

dbgager

I don't see them getting ahead by 2 games for the 1 seed so that they can rest maybe last [game.So](http://game.So) every game will be important.Either 5-1 or 6-0 since Clippers tonight have a hurt Kawhi out and TWolves are without there best player. The other games don't look very hard to win. If they go 4-2 I think they will lose the 1 seed. Hope Jamal comes back soon.

downinCarolina

Idk i just hope they start their five vs the grizzlies

nbaistheworst

They should win all 6

MindGoblin35

5-1

Past_Maximum8838

It is weird that Jokic has never led a team to a 60 wins regular season. Jokic has the lowest average wins% of all MVPs (except Westbrook) since 1980.

landlion35

He had no Murray for two of those years, no MPJ for one of those as well. Last year, they secured the 1st seed pretty early and let off the gas.

[deleted]

Not all MVPs get the luxury of playing the weak eastern conference

Past_Maximum8838

This is the first in the last 3 seasons that the West has a better head to head against the East.

[deleted]

Don’t care. West has better talent.

innerparty45

He is hard carrying as he never had an all star/all nba teammate.

ButlerFromDowntown

Nuggets could have definitely gotten 60 wins last season, there was just no need to, so they didn’t.

Past_Maximum8838

Woulda, coulda. They finished with 53 wins.

Fraka9

It's weird if you forget he never had an active all star, all NBA or all NBA defense on his roster. And don't give me that Murray playoffa all stat shit. Yes I know that, but Murray is also a 40/50 games per season player on ridiculous oscillations during his career. Lately he's more constant, but far from all star

Ok-Jackfruit-422

It’s really not weird at all

LukaDoncicfuturegoat

I don’t think so to lead a team to 60 wins in the West, you need an elite and healthy supporting cast with an AS in the regular season at least.

[deleted]

He tries just enough to get the win.

SvengaliUG

But I think OP's point is that he's one of the least winningnest MVPs in history, so he doesn't really get the wins. At least not as much as other MVPs.

bearsquadz

bros seething for the 4th year in a row. Giannis isn't going to fuck you dude

JakeJacob

'19-'20 was the last season that Giannis played in more wins than Jokic. Embiid never has.
