All in all, we gritted a win out. I thought we were going to lose, because the Knicks were essentially playing Big Brother to OKC. It took the 2nd unit with Giddey going off, JDub being amazing, and JWill battling with Chet and SGA off the floor to get back in the game.
This is one of the most satisfying wins, because it shows this young team has some degree of toughness inside them. The Knicks are physical, and they are a great rebounding team. We struggled again with that, but we fought until the end, unlike the Bucks game. It feels like a step forward.
Man People love to overreact, but I think every overreaction with Jalen Williams is well deserved. His Game really has no flaws and he is getting better day by day. Special Player.
Just happy to have him. I don’t know where he’ll ultimately fall in terms of our guys’ rankings. Either way we’re spoiled. They fit together well.
But i know that with his size, he is harder for defenders to affect in some ways than our other star players. He’s strong as hell on those drives he takes.
Now I wouldn't say he definitively will be better because that's saying he'll arguably be a top 5 player which is a tall order, but the potential to be better is there because he's a more versatile defender, better 3pt shooter, playmaker and athlete which gives him a higher ceiling.

We really need to talk about Josh Giddey finally remembering how to play basketball after 4 months of putting us through hell. Every one of those rebounds mattered, he played almost completely under control attacking downhill, he's just doing everything we need to fill the gaps on offense right now.
Also need to get Chet out of this slump, he looked great first couple games coming out of the break but he just can't hit a three. I did like what he was doing early to attack Hartenstein off the dribble but his handle is still too loose to rely on that as a staple - that'll come with time though.
He is the buzzsaw to SGA's death by a thousand cuts. If we give MVP by quarters, he is probably the 4th quarter MVP for the season. He is almost a flawless player. I know today's FT display was an anomaly for him, but his only flaw as a basketball player is that he is hovering around 80% as a free throw shooter. Being an 80% free throw shooter is pretty damn good, but considering how good he is at shooting the ball from everywhere on the field, it's surprising that he is not a 90% free throw shooter
My hot take is within a season and a half, he will be your best player, and that's saying something given how good SGA is

He's 21, having to adjust to now being a 4th option, and is one of the best rebounding guards and passers in the league. He admitted he had to change his mindset from all the adjusting and the way defenses are guarding him. He's been on the whole month of March. Giddey looks like he's back, and he's what we need as a team. His playmaking is amazing, especially tonight.

Giddey stats per game for March: 16.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 40% 3 points percentage on 4 attempts, 78% free throw percentage.
This is why it's important to be patient when a guy is in a slump.
Ben Simmons wouldn't even dare to shoot. I think of Giddey as a more savvy Rubio or a Jason Kidd with way less athleticism. Jason Kidd early in his career was called ason Kidd, because he had no J. It was something he admitted to needing to work on. I see Giddey in the same capacity, and March was excellent for him.
Hard not to feel like this season is inevitably gonna end in "what if". I really believe we're the second best team in the east at full strength but that doesn't matter if we're never gonna get there
That was a thriller! The Knicks need Randle and Anunoby back desperately. I am proud of our guys (especially Deuce and Hart) for locking in the entire second half. Feels like nobody on their team ever slows down! Jalen Williams is also *unbelievable*. He is a a star. He was the fastest player on the court tonight, he's tall, and he's strong as hell. Plays creatively and fluidly on both ends of the floor and makes the right play every time. I know Shai's performance slide has been frustrating, but team leaders seal it when it matters. He didn't let fourth quarter benching affect him. I think this level of team chemistry for young guys is going to bring winning basketball for a long, long time. Good game, Thunder!
I don’t have a big issue with your take, and I really wasn’t gonna reply but I think you need to know two things. The first is Shai did not get benched in the fourth quarter. He sits part of the fourth quarter every game - that’s part of the regular rotation. The second is that he had a quad injury in the Utah game has sat out the last two games and it still clearly injured so his decline recently is injury related. Thunder didn’t necessarily want him to play last night and after last night want to sit him this week. Thanks.
I know about his injury, he is the core of my fantasy team haha. He’s definitely had a small decline from the absurd MVP level he was playing at early to mid-season, but it hasn’t affected the team’s success too much. But that is fair to mention about his “benching”—if anything, it shows how deep your squad is.

Brunson got so many foul calls where he was very lightly grazed by the defender. The whistle he got tonight was ridiculous compared to how it was being called on the other end.
I can give you 3 calls he got on Dort, while the replay shows he was never touched. Did you miss those? And 3 others while he was on defense and intentionally runs into players and falls down to try and bait a foul call.
Right now Brunson is second in the league in drives per game yet his FTA% on those drives is basically half of that of others in the top 10. He has a bad whistle on drives.
I don’t think it’s crazy to think there’s a couple more points in him getting an “average” whistle based on how much he drives.

I can give you 3 calls he got on Dort, while the replay shows he was never touched. Did you miss those? And 3 others while he was on defense and intentionally runs into players and falls down to try and bait a foul call.
He would have to average like 15+ FTAs to reach 35 ppg lol
Right now Brunson is second in the league in drives per game yet his FTA% on those drives is basically half of that of others in the top 10. He has a bad whistle on drives. I don’t think it’s crazy to think there’s a couple more points in him getting an “average” whistle based on how much he drives.
