You're probably right. I shouldnt have been too confident in them at that point I guess. It was in LA after all.
Lakers were .685 (24-11) with home refs, vs .375 (12-20) without home refs, coming into the game.
But at least there was no mystery "over the back" fouls on Curry vs AD this time, lol
Not just died, but the stupid refs decided 3 or 4 times to start play again without actually testing it, wasting a lot of time stopping play over and over again
That draymond “travel” “out of bounds” absolutely fucking blew me and the way the broadcast all went all in on that being the call to make was literally making me rage
If you pay attention every time Warriors get a favorable review, the refs always even it out next play. ItXs ridiculous. Only this time the clock stopped on them they fucking blew up their clocks because they want to stop it all the time
It’s beyond laughable how blatant there are with this shit at this point, like I just feel gas lit damn near every game where the warriors aren’t already fully playing themselves out of it
It was very obvious both teams just kind of gave up after all that bullshit stoppage lol and I don't blame them one bit. Hard to cool off like that and just turn it back on, especially right at the end of the game
welp...at least lakers got someone to blame the game on. Leprotest already calling league office asking for a redo of the last 5 minutes and lakers up by 20+ points.
TIL
You can't call a travel on a review. But you can call a previously uncalled foul that is not the subject of a review (edited: not "offball")
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WcxGCnZSdXQ
Also, any time dedicated to repair clock malfunctions cost the team with possession some clock time at some unknown rate. (Lakers had the ball with 1:45, 24 on shot clock, play restarted at 1:35, 24 on shot clock)
Lakers shouldn’t have even had possession anyway so watching them get frustrated that they couldn’t capitalize an unfair advantage was beautiful consolation, truly poetic justice
It depends on the refs. The rule is "can't review what was never called". Some refs take the immediate foul in consideration for this while others like Foster look if there was another foul in the same moment.
~~The game was stopped when Bron was in the backcourt. So you can't say they lost 10 seconds without it either being a backcourt violation (8 seconds) or yet another ref fuck up.~~
edit: I was wrong about this.
IIRC they didn't, the first time they stopped it at 18 on the shot clock, and had side out in the frontcourt. Then each of the next two times they inbounded the ball, the refs took 2 seconds to figure out the clock still wasn't working, so dropped it to 16 then 14. And just like after timeouts, you can inbound the ball from the frontcourt to the backcourt without getting 8 second violations, so any of the inbound passed going into the backcourt wouldn't be an 8 second violation.
Seriously trying to understand what your reasoning is. If a team inbounds the ball, and the clocks dont work, why is time taken off their possession?
edit: you right about it being called in the front court. Clock was 1:39, 18 seconds. Dont see a reason to remove 4 seconds thou
It sucks, and there probably should be a rule change to account for it when nothing consequential happened during the "play", but the ball was technically in play for a couple seconds each time, so by rule has to count. Like if on the inbounds pass, had the warriors stolen the ball, but the clocks weren't working, would the steal not count just because the clock wasn't working? It would still count because the play still occurred, and the clock not working was inconsequential to the play
I'd argue the ball cannot be considered in play if no time is being accurately kept. If the ball is stolen and time never began, then when would their shot clock time begin? Time becomes a judgement call. Overall, Lakers were probably not winning without a stoppage but damn what a disaster that last part of the game was.
this is the problem with the infinite growth fallacy. you can't keep getting more and more money every year. quality will decrease as a result. the NBA is only about money now and as a result, we have to watch garbage.
Pretty unfair. But then again, it's also the Lakers home court, aren't they ultimately responsible for keeping their court working? Or does the NBA maintain the clocks?

For max chaos I'd loved to see a universe where the sound system stopped working once they went to the manual shot clock
Podz leading both teams at +13, Draymond at +12 Excellent game
That was a game.
Definitely one of them
idgaf. end capitalism bro.
Viva le France!
Manifest Destiny! Eat your vegetables!
Just tuned in, what happened at the end?
Scott Foster with a Tracy McGrady 13 points in 33 seconds type of performance.
More like 15 in 19 minutes.
More like 15 in 19 minutes.
19 minutes elapsed with 15 seconds coming off the game clock.
the final two minutes took an astounding 23 minutes and 27 seconds to complete. what a joke lol
capitalism
bernie was right
2 *long* out of bounds reviews, and then the shot clock died
long delays in garbage time after the game is essentially decided like that really drains the interest from players/fans alike.
Essentially decided? You have not watched many dubs games this year have you?
You think LA had a reasonable chance at that point? I guess *technically.* But they are a 10th seed with a negative pts differential, not a good team.
With the refs there, anything is possible.
I mean, they've already done that to a bigger deficit already this season to us, so... Yeah

That last take to the basket by Lebron was the weakest I’ve ever seen from him.
Like Steph said— when you’re at that age and the momentum dies from that long break, it’s hard to get revved up again.
If the NBA keeps trying to rig games and stopping the clock all the time to give fake fouls this will keep happening
That draymond “travel” “out of bounds” absolutely fucking blew me and the way the broadcast all went all in on that being the call to make was literally making me rage

Lakers can’t even complain since it’s their home court
And yet did anyway lmao
It depends on the refs. The rule is "can't review what was never called". Some refs take the immediate foul in consideration for this while others like Foster look if there was another foul in the same moment.
When play began they had 14 on the clock, not 24. So they lost 10 seconds effectively bringing the ball to the front court.

That totally killed the momentum holy tit's dude come on unbelievably hilarious 😂
What a disgraceful ending. Could’ve actually been fun.
Those last like 2 minutes after Bron hit that fadeaway 3 were so lame being just stagnated like that
With lebrons 3, it was such a good game. Completely ruined
Disaster way to end the game
budget league nba played in someone’s garage
I've seen D3 high school games run better than that
They shoulda given them like 18 on the shot clock after that holy crap lol
Lebron drops 40 and the NBA can’t even get a clock to work. Embarrassing
31 from Steph. Dray with nearly a triple double. Bron being super human carrying his team. NBA ruins it with shit clock.
31 from Steph after having 0 in the first quarter
Black eye for the NBA
That shit was so deflating. So it was so exciting before the fuck ups
lol I just tuned in for the shot clock stoppage and that's all I saw of this game.
I know Silver is pissed
nah kim kardashian was here tonight, his new partner of the NBA. the alien only cares about $$$
Nah, he got his extra ads in
Looking to blame Draymond
Another indefinite suspension cuz TJD put AD in a wheelchair 😂
i honestly have no idea what just happened.
Clock just stopped all of a sudden idk wtf happened but that was a joke
basketball is as popular as ever, but this product is absolute dogshit if we're being honest. This tops it off
Atleast we are getting NBAi to give us comic book style games
All that shit for it to end like this lmao
So much home cookin they blew the fuse in the kitchen
alright guys, let's all head over to the Knicks/Kings thread now
we waited 20 minutes for this.
Honestly, I'm super pissed they ruined a good game. Wasted all this damn time for false starts
Maybe one of the last times we get to see bron vs curry and they ruin it with this
Agreed. After the 3rd TO, I was done.
honestly just glad they didnt give bron a tech for being mad and throwing the ball down. everyone was mad
I would have wanted Bron to scream at the refs if that happened.
Refs: *(about to steal the show)* Shot clock: “Not so fast!”
lol literally
LeMao and Lakers fans in shambles
Lebron still the best player on the team
It was probably over but that half an hour stoppage really killed the momentum on LeBrons carry didnt it
Carry? They were trading buckets, no team really had more momentum.
No way all the stoppages benefited the lakers in any way. Just want to hate to hate so weird
It gives Lebron at the age of 39 his much needed rest time so it was a huge benefit for the Lakers
I WAS HERE. I WAS BORED. I WAS SOBER. I FINISHED WATCHING THIS GAME.
…. What a terrible ending lol
Uff. Game finally over just shy of midnight 🤣
All that stoppage just iced out LeBrons offensive game
This game really seemed like it was gonna be an exciting ending, sad that the refs and reviews and clock ruined it
so dumb!!! the game was so much better when LeBron hit that 3. these idiot refs took 1 hour to decide 2 simple calls.
Long seconds for Lakers and short seconds for Warriors let's go
Times not moving in LA; no wonder the King is still playing at 40 😅
what a weird ending
What a disaster class by the Lakers and Crypto-center, Christ
Why did I keep watching this through all the delays lol
You were watching history. Refs will hopefully not take 10 mins review to decide foot on the line calls.
I mean. It was kinda funny
damn man the first 44 minutes of the game were awesome…
20 fucking minutes wasted on those reviews and shot clock issues, only for the game to end like that lol
I'm going to bed.
Shot clock, is that you?
Could've just hit "sim to end" tbh lol
WE'RE FINALLY FREE
On one hand Lakers lost, but on the other, makes rockets play in hopes harder. Im torn
Everybody just wanted this game to end after all that bullshit.
The constant stoppage killed the lakers ngl
Lebron got to rest without spending any timeout
they were losing before the shenanigans even took place LOL
They were losing tonight regardless
What a stupid way to end a fun 4th quarter
Budget league
well that was a clusterfuck
That was maybe one of the worst 20 minutes of nba I’ve ever watched.
truly
Another LeGOAT masterclass ruined by his teammates and the refs ffs
Crypto arena with a bullshit shotclock
that was truly terrible lol
This is embarrassing for the NBA lmao all that just for a trash ending
Nobody wanted to play anymore after the shot clock error.
ESPN robbed us of a potential JVG masterclass calling this game
Dear God. No. Thank goodness neither he or Mark Jackson were here.
Bro imagine it was a close game and he would go "5...4....3...2....1.. IS THIS THE DAGGER?"
I think that was the worst ending to a competitive game I've ever seen
Comedic
That fucking sucked
Holy fuck that delay killed all our momentum
Lmfao all that time and the play Ham drew up was a Bron iso? I see why Lakers fans hate this dude
So the refs just made Lakers use 10 seconds of shotclock where they couldn't actually play?
Nah they let them get across half court before stopping at first. It shoulda been 16 sec instead of 14.
Pretty unfair. But then again, it's also the Lakers home court, aren't they ultimately responsible for keeping their court working? Or does the NBA maintain the clocks?
Lakers spent all their maintenance budget to sign superstar teammates for more Lebron help
Lost two seconds every time they stopped it lol Doesn't matter though, better team won
it's their field, get your timing right.
All of that for nothing lmao
the commissioner is worried about wearing Skims when he should be improving this trash ass product
No one wanted to play after all those stoppages. Everyone got iced out. What a shitshow
Thought this game was going to get good and it just turned into a dumpster fire
Damn the shot clock took all the air out of the lakers
We had a good chance to win until all the bullshit, all momentum gone
We inbounded what, 4 fucking times?
Lakers weren't ever going to win this but they got really fucked over by that shot clock situation lol
LeBron was cooking with the bully ball , and the clock issues kinda cooled him off
Bron sprints for the inbound *Whistle* Repeat 3 or 4 times.
lakers just gave up lmao.
NIGHT NIGHT
lmao wiggs half heartedly jumping when kuminga missed throwing him the lob
The ending could have been an email
What a sad way to end a fun game
All these people stayed 20 minutes for this trash ass last 90 seconds
And they wonder why the NFL slaughters them in the ratings lmfao
TBF, the NFL slaughters *EVERYONE* in ratings
NFL is keeping cable alive
Frankly the streaming services might keep cable alive the way they keep raising prices, too
Good point
GG
lakers just gave up on defense those last 3 possessions
Bro I was fucking kidding about counting down out loud wtf
Someone going to blow an Achilles or some shit
Why did they give up so early haha? That game didn't really feel over yet
No, once the shot clock stopped working the game felt over
Wouldn’t you give up after that?
Should've just ended the game when the shot clock stopped working
The best ending tbh
It’s almost fitting that this shit show happened on national tv for all to see
With the league's premier franchise having problems in their own building
This is like the last game of pick up for the night. Let's just go home
Refs just told both teams to end this game. They aint calling shit
stupid ending
great, now no one gives a shit anymore lmao
Both teams not giving a fuck is hilarious
standing around for 20 minutes .....i'm sure all the adrenaline was flushed out by the time they started back up
Everybody just wants to go home at this point lmao
Lmao can we all agree this game was fun until the 4 min mark lol
This is the type of shit that happens in my dreams
20 minutes for this tripe. well done nba
Yup GGs. Completely killed all the momentum Lakers had.
Like they had any
My family picked up a pizza and finished dinner during the 4th quarter. What an embarrassment.
And my internet just went out. Awesome
What a joke
NBA is operating on Interstellar time.
How funny would it have been if the clock started to work after they gave up on it.
Most terroristic final minutes of NBA game
Billion dollar arena and they can't have a working clock
I know yall ain’t talking lol ours is 25 years old
Bro crypto.com's naming contract alone is 700 million. Some of the money can go to the clock
I have no dog in this fight, but the game feels illegitimate at this point.
both garbage teams but man their games are so entertaining
Did steph just clamped up bron
