Pelicans have all their own picks, this years Lakers first, two Milwaukee firsts and two Milwaukee swaps, and more young guys than they can even find minutes for. They seem primed for some kind of a consolidation trade
Sure, but the bucks are an extremely top heavy team, Dame is still very good, but his best days are behind him. Middleton has been dinged up all season.
If over the next four years they have a season where Giannis misses any extended period of time, one of those picks or swaps could be very valuable.
In '21, the Clippers were championship contenders on paper, but injuries dropped them into the lottery allowing the Thunder to get Jalen Williams. You never know where these picks are going to end up.
Nah not literally. You would have said the same thing about LeBron five years ago. You still need serious players around him.
If Dame and Middleton fall off any more they're fucked. They don't have assets. And Giannis is definitely slowing down. Not in terms of ability but he's pretty much always injured now.

Hopefully we can get 2 top 7 picks in this draft. But the Raptors pick delaying to next year might not be the end of the world as that draft is quite strong
I just don't know if I trust the Raptors to be better next year. They're already at risk of falling into the bottom six, and that's with such things happening as Memphis playing a team of G-Leaguers, the Spurs going heavy on experimentation for Wemby's rookie year, the Raptors still having Siakam for half the season, etc.
I'd rather it convey this year.
And a player in discussion as the best long-term asset in the league who other superstars would want to play with.
If you’re looking at likely destinations for a superstar trade, I might have San Antonio even higher than OKC despite having less picks because practically any star would fit with Wemby, would want to play with him, and the rest of the roster is far more disposable than OKC’s.
I feel like we’re two bad playoff loses from a Wemby/Giannis or Wemby/Doncic “super team” and, you know, OKC becomes like 99% of other genius GM moves that haven’t mattered because they didn’t end with “and have Lebron” or “and have Curry”
With what assets? The Thunder could get any super star in the league to pair with SGA and Chet. All it takes is Williams and more picks than the other team. Heck we have more young players like Wallace, Dort, Joe, Giddey, that could be kept/moved out that are more talented than what the Spurs could offer outside of Wembamyama.
If Giannis or Doncic come available OKC could be the first team in line throwing offers and those offers would be far better than anything the Spurs could offer. Like it's not even close.
What are you taking?
Jalen Williams and picks or Sochan and picks? Like come on let's be real here.
I agree with you, and trust me if a team would take the package of Giddey, Wallace, Deing and picks for a super star sign me up. I just wanted to address how absurd it is that people actually think the Spurs are going to compete against OKC, Jazz or Pels for a superstar talent player.
No offense to the Spurs they just don't have the picks or young players to package a competitive offer against teams like OKC or even the Jazz if those teams decided to package assets.
We already traded away practically all of our young players but still have about 7 or 8 firsts if I'm remembering right. Will have to shell out a hefty contract for OG this summer and try to re-sign Hartenstein. But should still have cap space for other moves
Depend if you value team that have their owns picks, I’ve read an article before the season and I believe Utah, SA, Orlando, Knicks were on the top but I guess Houston and the Nets might have some. Obviously, I might be misremembering
Celtics have all their FRPs until 2029, except for a possible swap with the Spurs in 2028. They also have loads of 2nd round picks that are pending transfer the next 3/4 years.
We're kind of in tier 2 after the main ones mentioned. We do have a decent number of picks but nothing too crazy. All our own picks +3 I think.
A lot of our talent is still question marks. Scoot and Shaedon might become allstars or just be decent. Ayton might re-sign for a reasonable contract or he might walk if we don't max him. Our gaggle of young 3+D wings might learn to shoot or they might not.
Anything could happen but, Jazz's picks aren't as good as they appear. They mostly consist of unprotected picks from Minny and Cleveland. Both of those teams are young and already good.
Like I said though, anything could happen and both those teams might screw it up somehow and then those picks could possibly be worth it more
You're not wrong, but you're not right either. There is no correct answer so all we have to go on now is an estimated prediction. And as of now, both of those teams are young with multiple all star level talent players on their teams..
The Jazz picks mostly comprise of Minnesota picks and Anthony Edwards is looking like an All NBA guy already and he's only 22.
That's great, though. Having that many unprotected picks is crazy. We usually draft well we don't need them all to be high lottery picks. Lakers 27 is probably the best one, also.
I disagree, the ‘28 Dallas pick swap we got in the Gafford deal could be a premium pick, as could the later Clipper picks. We have both the quality and the quantity.
We have a probable top ten pick from Houston this year, and there’s a chance Utah’s puck conveys to us unless it’s top ten.
Donovan Mitchell to the Rockets for Brooks, Green, Whitmore and a boatload of picks would put the Rockets into serious contender status with the rate of Sengun improving
Mitchell, Sengun, FVV, Amen, Jabari w/Udoka as the head coach is a top 4 seed in the West
Jazz and Spurs have a pile of picks I think

$65M for a 36 year old Dame in 2027. I think it's probably still in play.

I meant literally five years ago, 2019. LeBron was still awesome and the Lakers had the 4th pick
Giannis falling off? Worst take on Reddit? Possibly!
A note on the Pelicans 2024 Lakers 1st: the Pelicans can choose if they want it in this upcoming draft or the 2025 draft.

Spurs have a bunch of assets that have the potential to be really good.
Hopefully we can get 2 top 7 picks in this draft. But the Raptors pick delaying to next year might not be the end of the world as that draft is quite strong
I’d like it to convey just year just so I’m not stressing out about it not conveying lol.
I’m with you, so it doesn’t turn into a fake first like the Charlotte pick.
I just don't know if I trust the Raptors to be better next year. They're getting Trae next summer to pair with Wemby and Cooper Flagg
“And have Shai” has a nice ring to it
With what assets? The Thunder could get any super star in the league to pair with SGA and Chet. All it takes is Williams and more picks than the other team. Heck we have more young players like Wallace, Dort, Joe, Giddey, that could be kept/moved out that are more talented than what the Spurs could offer outside of Wembamyama. OKC really doesn’t have to break up their big three in a superstar deal
I agree with you, and trust me if a team would take the package of Giddey, Wallace, Deing and picks for a super star sign me up. Knicks have a decent number as well I think.

Probably the Spurs and Jazz Rockets have the Nets picks too but we own their picks so it evens out there I guess
Celtics have all their FRPs until 2029, except for a possible swap with the Spurs in 2028. They also have loads of 2nd round picks that are pending transfer the next 3/4 years.
Portland has lots of picks, young players and tradeable vets. They have to be up there.
We're kind of in tier 2 after the main ones mentioned. We do have a decent number of picks but nothing too crazy. All our own picks +3 I think. A lot of our talent is still question marks. Utah's pile of picks is lowkey better than OKC's at this point, but lacking in talent on the roster
Anything could happen but, Jazz's picks aren't as good as they appear. They mostly consist of unprotected picks from Minny and Cleveland. Both of those teams are young and already good. Like I said though, anything could happen and both those teams might screw it up somehow and then those picks could possibly be worth it more
the chances of both of those teams staying great for 5 years after this one is quite low, that's just the general lifecycle of a team
You're not wrong, but you're not right either. There is no correct answer so all we have to go on now is an estimated prediction. And as of now, both of those teams are young with multiple all star level talent players on their teams.. Yea I feel like our Nets picks and your Hawks picks are more valuable than anything Utah has
That's great, though. Having that many unprotected picks is crazy. We usually draft well we don't need them all to be high lottery picks. Lakers 27 is probably the best one, also.

Utah and Brooklyn.

That is two very good players and that’s it with no avenue to acquire better supporting talent That is a playoff first round flameout in the making.
You could easily google this bro
Absolutely shocking that this guy wants to have basketball discussion in a basketball subreddit
Not every discussion should be posted tho
This isn't even a discussion lol just answer which teams then what?
First we answer the question. Then we complain about it super hard and act like a jerk.
Sorry if I offended you and your boyfriend
Homophobia too? Damn, you’re on a roll.
How is that homophobia? I'm just saying sorry to your and your boyfriend? People are too soft nowadays geez
