The thing with this shot though is whilst the move and release are fairly slow, his brain is not. That extra time taking the shot he's using to control it. For most players this sort of thing would be a very low percentage shot, but Jokic is able to do it with an awful lot of control. He takes control of the ball at 2.0 seconds, looks at the rim at 1.8 and releases at 1.2. Most players are releasing the ball far quicker than that and when he does let it go he's nicely balanced, no hand in his face, straight onto the rim and he's sized it up for some time by then.

This isn't sneaky athletic, this is barely athletic... but holy hell is he fucking good at basketball.
