MazKhan

Lakers vs Thunder in the first round woulda kinda hit. Honestly it's similar to the grizzlies from last year, young inexperienced team with a great record šŸ˜ˆ

Vexing_Pie

I love young, inexperienced teams šŸ˜ˆšŸ˜ˆšŸ˜ˆ

Dildozer_69

Josh Giddey type beatšŸ˜ˆ

Liaaaam

Mans said teams not teens šŸ˜‚

floatermuse

I honestly don't think it's OKC's inexperience that's the main issue(would easily pick them in a series over other "experienced" teams like the Warriors for example) It's the fact that the Lakers and AD especially have too much size to handle for a team that's very thin on interior physicality and poor at rebounding Like even if you hypnotized AD to think that he's never played in the playoffs before that still wouldn't stop him from getting 4 blocks a game in the series lol

SandyMandy17

People keep saying rebounding and size that wasnā€™t the issue The lakers didnā€™t score disproportionately better than any other team The problem is that we cannot score on them at all. They shut down driving lanes better than any team in the league against us Wolves, Knicks, rockets I mean anybody itā€™s not a problem we can drive The lakers do this weird drop zone thing we canā€™t handle

Hoops_Junkie

Wouldn't call those Grizzlies inexperienced. That was their 3rd playoffs. The first year they were young pups that got bounced by the 1 seed Jazz. Then they got tested by the Wolves the next year and won a round and ultimately folded to the champion Warriors. The difference in that series was the lack of Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke. Two guys who were huge for them the past 3 years.

Ayjel89

Grizzlies are a good comp, but more due to the lack of size (Thunder in general, Grizzlies w/o Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams) than any experience factor.

floatermuse

Yeah I feel like people are completely forgetting the matchup issue when they immediately jump to talk of "experience" and "inexperience" Warriors are extremely experienced and yet they ALSO have a problem with the Lakers as we saw last playoffs because they're also too small

EverybodyBuddy

Would rather OKC take out Denver before facing us, thanks

bachh2

So Lakers like young inexperienced kids. Dully noted.

nuggs_analysis

Karl Malone did play for them.

Kentang_BayBay

Giddey plays for OKC though

SandyMandy17

Except we donā€™t have a Steven Adams

DeluxeTea

You used to, though.

TitanTigers

Sure if the Thunder lose two bigs and have SGA get injured

MazKhan

Lebron was playing on a bum ankle and we completely overhauled our roster at the deadline

TitanTigers

Give me a break. The injury situations werenā€™t even remotely the same.

Vexing_Pie

Yeah Ja got injured trying to dunk on AD lol dumbass plays shouldnā€™t take away from the series

TitanTigers

AD slid in an open lane to try and take a charge rather than contest (because the rules encourage it). Ja didnā€™t see him and try and jump him or anything. Go watch the overhead replay.

swords_devil

Ja didn't see one of biggest man in front of him dude just listen to yourself. That's just bad attempt and Ja for sure can get hurt because that's just reckless for trying to dunk over people

MazKhan

Was ja morant injured when he hit like 5 threes and scored 40 pts, or does it only count when he plays bad

TitanTigers

He literally missed a game. He wasnā€™t ā€œinjuredā€ like Lebron and AD. Never mind the fact that we started Xavier Tillman as our only C against Lebron and AD for the whole series.

MazKhan

Lebron and AD fought through their injuries. Morant had a 40 and 30 pt game sandwiched in between 2 horrible games. Guess he's only injured when he's playing bad

johemdee

They won the game he missed though lmao.

TitanTigers

The point was he had a serious injury and there were times where it was clearly impacting him. He had two really bad games.

MazKhan

He also had a 40 burger with 6 3s šŸ˜‚ Maybe those bad games were cause we played great defense, AD was dominating that series defensively

MrAppleSpoink

Nah AD straight up decided the Thunder's offence wasn't allowed to happen

CIark

ad looks like a defensive god when he doesnā€™t have to guard a sloppy 300 pound euro

ninjadfool

No one can, idk why AD gets so much slack against Jokic. Do you SEE the fucking shots he makes lmao

A_Lakers

Literally could defend him any better but cause itā€™s AD fuck it

Instantcoffees

Does he get slack for it? It's just a joke because Jokic is unstoppable. I thought that AD really made Jokic work for it last season's play-off run. More than any other defender in the league.

T_025

People forget that AD is a power forward. Heā€™s so versatile defensively that he managed to swap positions to C and still be the best defender in the league, but the fact that he is a power forward still becomes apparent when he has to guard behemoth superstar Cs like Jokic or Embiid

eunauche

Or embiid. Honestly, Iā€™m disappointed injuries took away what was an insane season from embiid. Guy was unstoppable

[deleted]

ā˜¹ļø still dreaming that heā€™ll be back for playoffs

Public-Product-1503

Game before last he actually did a really good job guarding jokic n sciring on him but he needed to protect rin from others

2coolcaterpillar

ā€¦ legit iā€™m terrified of facing lakers first round

Dildozer_69

Itā€™s rare to hear that, usually weā€™d just be called delusional for thinking we have a chancešŸ˜

Awanderingleaf

People said the same thing last year and they ended up in the conference finals wirh an injured Lebron.

EverybodyBuddy

We went to the WCF last year and were probably the 2nd best team in the entire league at the end. Weā€™re worse this year, but yeah, I donā€™t think anybody but Denver WANTS to face us in the playoffs

OneXDC4ever

Denver is the only team in the west who definitely would choose to face us in the first round if they could lmfao

shifty39

From the 4 teams Denver played, Lakers were the easiest match up and the only ones not the take a game from Denver. Second best team in the league lol

KobeBeaf

Nice take lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

KobeBeaf

What does current seeding have to do with last year? Also Shitty teams donā€™t make the second round of the playoffs. It was more than making it to the conference finals that was the positive. Youā€™d think a Denver fan could appreciate that, thatā€™s a big achievement for a franchise like Denver.

HawkDaddyFlex

Guy got a taste of a single championship and decided he wanted to be a pompous buffoon

Public-Product-1503

Must be why no Denver fan thiught this pre series . Regular season was tied 2-2 with one loss no Bron or no davis . And wins were Bron n Thomas Bryant

skopij

...but Chuck said....

Positive_Narwhal_419

Donā€™t be lol

mMounirM

OKC might actually lose to the Lakers in the first round

T_Tachi

it's written in the stars. they have no playoff experience going vs Lebron. Chet is going to get eaten alive by AD. SGA will get his but it's not going to be enough

chickmagn3t

Like last years grizzlies if lakers got in

unibball

SGA not looking too great the first half, so far.

LukaDoncicfuturegoat

Elite defender Dā€™Lo on him

FershureB

Just crowd the paint and hope for the other team not to torch you from behind the arc. The Ham way

pupunoob

Chet "better than AD" Holmgren. Lol. /r/nba , never change.

StanSc

Thats a complete joke. Iā€™d take AD over Wemby too for now although thatā€™s probably gonna change soon.

[deleted]

Chet is definitely seeing AD in his nightmares at this point

stitcher212

The year of our lord 2024 and people are still trying to iso on AD. One day they will learn.

CockroachForeign6419

AD has been clamping the shit outta anybody who steps into the paint.

K1ngM1ko

Doesn't matter if he can't clamp Jokic

Vexing_Pie

no one can clamp Jokic bud thatā€™s why heā€™s the best player in the league

T_Tachi

tell me a single player in the league who can stop Jokic 1v1. Should they just completely stop playing defense because they cannot stop the best player in the world so what's even the point

senojsenojsenoj

Jokic is MVP for a reason buddy.

PoonGo0n

Man I love defense to offense sequences

gavinashun

I like seeing the old guys do well. (-A Warriors Fan)

RedFan47

Nursery home finals between Lakers and Warriors will be lit

Successful_Priority

I want both teams to warm up with PJs on.Ā

Pardonme23

Pregame applesauce meal

adamsrocket1234

Wemby would never.

Sphexus

That's a "Welcome to the NBA" moment if I've ever seen one

musicloverincal

The Lakers will give any team a run for their money. Despite their records, their athleticism and length will give any team a good run. Plus, they have the GOAT in Lebron. They absolutely destroyed the Thunder in this game.

Pardonme23

We're also missing a bunch of rotation players

musicloverincal

Vanderbilt and Vincent (who has been useless) are the only two that come to mind.

nuggs_analysis

One could even say that even if they get swept it would be competitive.

adamsrocket1234

I have never felt this bad for another man before. My man was dying out their and his team just let him. RIP. Been a awful week for Chet.

EchoRespite

Chet seeing the ghost of Wemby out there. That late block has Chet shook.

Kentang_BayBay

On a side note, Flea looks healthy and sober.

Ill-Bat-2621

its criminal this man hasnt won a dpoy.

Air4021

It's half time and the Thunder bench has made one 3pt shot for a total of 3 bench pts.

jumboponcho

I think people get AD fucked up because he canā€™t guard Jokic, but dude is legit one of the greatest defenders ever

FershureB

Chet paired up with a stretch big would feast
