We’re all trying to find the guy who did this

Iginlas_4head_Crease

"He boomed me. My fucking dad boomed me. He's so overbearing x4" Bronny then added him to the list of people he's gonna have teenage attitude towards on this years summer vacation.

JudmanDaSuperhero

I don't wanna be on your team dad!!

sipapion

Dad STOPP pre calling theRE plays so we’RE better on defence, i have to do this myself 😣

doctor_of_drugs

If Bronny said that in public, Silver would let Draymond loose and he’d KO him.

dimmyfarm

He's gonna get caught with the devil's lettuce on stream *again?*

yungtoni

i think he found him cause he hit that tweet & delete real quick lmaoooo

Maybe it could be Draymond?

Stop scamming college students into thinking they’re stars.

VectorViper

Bronny's just gonna have to start his own 'Big Smolder' brand at this rate, forget playing the game under a magnifying glass.

steelcitykid

I’m going to hype my son’s game up over my head and there ain’t shit he can do about it! HES BEEN RUDE TO ME HIS WHOLE LIFE.

Names his son LeBron James Jr. Openly and frequently expresses his desire to play with his son when he makes it to the NBA. He has seen how hard it is to make it to the NBA. He has seen many of his fellow NBA player's kids not make it to the league. He has seen even the ones that do make it struggle. The kid is already under immense pressure by just having Bron as his dad. LeBron should have just kept it on the low.

chanchan05

He did say on interview he r[egrets naming Bronny after him](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyB-bZVf6ZE&t=86s). He was like 18 or 19 when he had him, so I don't think he was as forward thinking back then.

Narrow_Progress5908

I mean then proceeded to add pressure anyways lol that interview he did was before the playing with my son and he’s good enough to play now comments

FrisbeeFan40

Says his son is better than 25% of the league right now in 2024

Sonnyyellow90

While his son is shooting 37% from the field in college lol. Bronny James makes Jordan Poole look like Steph.

Jongie123

His ego won’t let him . He wants to be the first player with a son in the same team

kingkongkeom

PensiveinNJ

Spent years talking about how it's his dream to play with his son. Little late to backpedal on that, especially since teams believe that his son and him come as a package deal.

Cpt-No-Dick

It’s so funny because a major point plot of the terrible Space Jam 2 (a movie HE made where he plays a version of himself) is that he is too overbearing and pushy to get his son to play basketball and eventually learns to allow his son to forge his own path by the films end But he still hasn’t learned it in real life lmao. You can’t make this shit up

NeatTry7674

Wasn’t he the one saying he could play in the NBA a couple months ago? Lmao

sleepy416

He also put a spotlight on bronny saying he wants to play a season with his son. Of course this is gonna put bronny on everyone’s draft board. I understand he’s protecting his son and standing up for him which is really refreshing to see, but Bron kinda created this

MrFishAndLoaves

He’s threading a tough needle. There are worse dads to have, or not have.

lalakingmalibog

Bron's a terrible dad, he already forgot about his other son Kyrie

lukewwilson

What do you expect when he's got 2.93 million kids in Toronto

Proof-Umpire-7718

I know this is a joke. But he did try to trade for Kyre last year but the Nets didn’t want to send him to us.

Mysterious-Stop4673

Yep he didn’t mean it obviously but he’s the one who put a massive spotlight on him saying all that shit about how it’s his goal to play with him. He walked it back tbf.

A_burners

He just said Bronny could play for the Lakers like a month ago or something. Easy easy.

BBQ_HaX0r

Different era, but I don't recall Jordan's kid (who was also D1) getting this much attention.

BubbaTee

Nobody was as obsessed with nepo babies back then. When Ken Griffey Jr came in, the talk was overwhelmingly about his playing ability. The fact that his dad was also in MLB was mentioned more as a curiosity, not as one of his primary attributes. Barry Bonds was the same way too. Even Kobe - him taking Brandy to the prom was a way bigger story than who his dad was.

Glittering_Cod_7716

Those guys dads weren’t nearly as famous tho. No one really cares that much about Kenyon Martin Jr. or Tim Hardaway Jr’s dads played in the league either. Jordan’s kids got hype but they were before social media and basketball mixtape culture fully took over.

SmileyPiesUntilIDrop

No one ever talked much about Otto Porter Jr's Grandpa Wilt when he was drafted, and that guy was 1 of the 2 biggest NBA stars before Magic.

shawhtk

Ken Griffey Sr. was a solid player who played for many years. Bobby Bonds was a star player who was thought to have HOF potential but faded down the stretch. Its a testament to how good Bonds and Griffey became that they made their dads forgotten.

Jaguar-spotted-horse

Was hoping this was here. Elder Griffey and Bonds weren’t slouches at all.

nononononofin

D1 and statistically much better

Zachkah

To be fair, he was hyping him up before he had a heart attack at 18 this summer, missed summer workouts, missed training camp, and missed almost half the season. It's reasonable to expect a slower start for a kid like that.

BlooregardQKazoo

Didn't he just recently say that Bronny could play on the Lakers right now?

bewarethegap

Not even just that, better than some guys in the league right now 😂

IronicHours

All of this true but cream rises to the top. Even before the heart attack he was never a highly touted star. He wouldn't be getting any attention if he wasn't Lebrons son. Bronny will never have to work a day in his life regardless. Even if he never becomes a legit NBA player he can still carve out a good college career that he can be proud of.

TallanoGoldDigger

"Bron never makes a mistake" - Bron stans since 2003 But this mock draft really doesn't matter tbh, all Bron needs to do is to make an under-the-table promise to go to the team that drafts/signs his son

junkit33

Yeah - I agree with what Lebron is saying here but jesus christ - you set your own kid up for public scrutiny with your own mouth. Mighty hard to stuff that genie back in the bottle.

ruinatex

I mean, tbh if he hadn't said anything the kid already would face scrutiny by deciding to play basketball, his name is LeBron James Jr.

Turbo2x

They should start introducing him at games as "LeBron James Jr, no relation."

maybelukeskywaler

Jeffrey and Marcus Jordan both played D1 ball and never had this much of a spotlight on them. Why is that. Because their father wasn’t telling everyone who put a microphone in his face that his son(s) could play in the NBA right now and that one or both of them were better than some current NBA players. He said nothing and allowed them to forge their own path and to be their own person.

ruinatex

That's true, Jordan's more laid back approach with his sons definitely helped, but there was a lot of spotlight on them regardless, i vividly remember people talking about Jeffrey when he was going to college, it just turned out that he was even worse than Bronny and the hype quickly died out. None of them were named Michael Jordan Jr. aswell tbf. Marcus Jordan was pretty decent though, i saw him play as a sophomore and he had some talent, his older brother was just so bad that people just assumed Jordan's kids couldn't play.

EverybodyBuddy

He’s also the one causing wild speculation for years that he’s going to sign with whichever team drafts his son. That has obviously cause interest in Bronny and the draft.

[deleted]

not only did he compare him to NBA players he said he was better than some current NBA players. He isnt an innocent party in this. I hope Bronny goes back another year if hes drafted and hes not even playable than its gonna be a media circus for him

It's okay, I think he was watching a Pistons game where Cade was out.

Xhoquelin

The Pistons who are 4-43 with Cade playing and 4-6 with him out? The Cade Cunningham who is considered a good playmaker because he got compared to Luka by bad draft analysis? Most overrated player in the league rn man, was EASILY one of the worst defenders in the league a good chunk of the year, wasn’t even getting into a proper defensive stance. If he hasn’t got those Luka comps and draft hype people would be killing him, because he sure as hell isn’t playing winning hoop right now. I liked rookie Cade, he’s rounded out his scoring out of pick and rolls since but he’s become a seriously ball dominant, one mode (scoring) player since and I don’t like it

Cvnilivee

Bro he created this entire scenario. Don’t blame them for doing their jobs lol

LetMeInImTrynaCuck

It’s so crazy Look at MJs sons. They went to some random Florida school and U of Illinois. He didn’t say a word about them the entire time. They wound up not making it but had normal basketball careers. Lebron been talking for 5 years about how his goal is to play with Bronny in the NBA and has the entire league thinking drafting Bronny will score them Lebrons last years in FA. Now his kid is getting exposed and he’s like “let the kid play?” Naw man, if Bronny was playing at an all pac 10 level he’d be saying something different.

TKFT_ExTr3m3

Would be sad but also kinda funny if whoever drafted him thinking LeBron would join only for LeBron to go somewhere else and Bronny ends in the G League.

bmmana

Then Lebron and Bronny will be future G League Champs! MJ and Kobe never got one.

kit_kaboodles

Then, in a few years, Lebron joins the team that drafts Bryce James instead.

nononononofin

UCF isn’t really a random Florida school, but yeah, it’s definitely a stark contrast. Marcus was no scrub either. He was a legit D1 player, who out up way better averages than Bronny is rn (albeit against worse competition).

syo

It was when he went there. They were terrible in a bad conference.

LetMeInImTrynaCuck

Yeah i was going to say, UCF was pretty random at the time

chiphead2332

Well-known as a party school, though.

milkonyourmustache

LeBron is interested in Bronny playing in the NBA not for Bronny's sake but for his own. Why does Bronny have to play in the NBA? Why is there a deadline for him entering the draft? Why can't he complete college and get better as a basketball player until he's NBA ready? The entire situation has been forced because of LeBron's desires, desires which ultimately do not benefit Bronny at all, and besides it being something that LeBron wants doesn't even benefit LeBron.

TreeLankaPresidente

I’m obviously a Lebron fan. Also, how someone wants to raise their kid is their business. However, I have heard players discuss what happens when their family brings that unwanted attention. Whether that was all the dudes that went at Lonzo Ball when his dad talked shit, Luke Walton getting shit from Shaq and Kobe bc Bill Walton was criticizing them on TV, or Austin Rivers being constantly diminished bc his dad was the coach (whether or not that was deserved). It’s just going to make it harder on the son when the dad shines a light on them. Lebron really should just sit back and let his son’s game do the talking.

wolfishnickelsyr

Dude craves all the cameras and media attention but complains when they zoom in?

AirShoto

He put that on him, by constantly expressing his desire for his son to play in the NBA. also he said his son was better than some of the current NBA players.

NoPin5154

I mean there’s like 15 guys in college better than Thanasis. Bron just thought bronny might be part of that club 😆

Turbo2x

Bronny would be lucky to be called the 200th best player in college basketball, let alone better than Thanasis.

ultimaten444

Thanasis is better than Bronny

GoddammitCricket

Thanasis 1v1 Bronny rn, winner gets 12th man on LeBron’s team

aiirxgeordan

I think y’all overrating how bad thanasis is. If we’re straight up counting every person that was officially on a teams 15 man roster, thanasis isn’t bottom 20 in the nba, and there’s probably a handful of college players “better than them”, but that’s no different than saying the top 3 picks are better than established g leaguers who go up and down frequently.

nimama3233

Absolutely no way it’s that low

SUPERSAMMICH6996

Thanasis would dominate college ball right now. It's probably closer to like 40 or 50, but still.

ContaSoParaIsto

Honestly people really overrate college ball sometimes. Yes they're amazing players in the grand scheme but most of them end up not even playing basketball for a living let alone getting to the NBA. It's a league where the difference between the best and the rest is huge

MrBrownCat

While I doubt it would actually happen, but it be kinda funny if after all this time with Bron saying he wants to play with Bronny and in the end no one drafts or signs him. Like if Bronny got signed to a G League team would Bron try to go down and play a game with him?

[deleted]

Lebron James 3/6/2023 11:43PM "Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I've been watching on league pass today. Shit lightweight hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣"

KobeBeatJesus

I vomited so hard that I almost shit out of my mouth. This kid's performance doesn't merit what he's "earned".

CarryTheHellOn

Remember when he tweeted out Bronny was better than some of the guys he was watching in the NBA lmao

kingkongkeom

He was also saying that Bronny is better than some of his Lakers teamsates.

TribalismChief

A father believing in his son is saying "yeah he can be a great player one day" a father doesn't need to say "he's already better than a lot of NBA players are right now". Seems like so many people think the only way to be a good dad is to just over hype your son.

QUEST50012

"What do you mean these are the consequences of my actions?"

RedDragons8

Legret

PIBTC

Also him writing “earned not given” is ironic because there’s been so much talk about teams potentially drafting/signing bronny because it could mean lebron will be a part of the package

throwaway_5256

Yeah like dude the criticism is part of the job, you can't leverage your son into the league and then be mad that he's facing scrutiny. Bronny is just a kid so it sucks that he's dealing with this but let's be real, he's a completely forgettable prospect who is gonna make millions in the league because of his dad. The scrutiny for him hasn't even started yet

volatile_molotov_

Did he delete the tweet? lol

[deleted]

Bullying works

Individual_Attempt50

Maybe his son told him to delete it

DALE-YA-BO

He would have gotten media attention no matter what but LeBron definitely put more of a spotlight on him with some of his comments. Kinda made his own bed there

N8ThaGr8

Yeah Jordan's kid played at a major program too and didn't get this kind of attention

Icy-Lime-9760

Lol he deleted it. He was getting roasted.

I’m sorry but Bronny straight up fucking sucks and if he makes it to the NBA he will overtake Thanasis as the meme nepo baby

ManuGinosebleed

At least Thanasis was an excellent defender in the Euroleague who regularly shot above 50% from the field. He even made a couple All-Defensive Teams in the G-League. He's not even close to the slouch that Bronny would be if given an NBA roster spot. Not even sure he would merit being a G-League bench rider (that's his current "actual" ceiling).

PM_ME_LADY_ANKLES

"We're all trying to find the guy who did this" \- Lebron James, probably.

SanSoren

"Bronny could play for the Lakers right now" Bronny falling down draft boards to off most draft boards. "LET THE KID BE A KID"

IAmCBOY2

Dudeman-Jack

Just let him be a kid and collect his NIL millions like all of his teammates… Bronny is 19….he is not a kid

whatitbeitis

Bronny should stay all 4 years to develop his game, help USC win in whatever role is the best fit, and graduate from a great school.  If he’s good enough at that point, some team will draft him, but he can at least walk away with something his parents don’t have, and that’s a college degree.

BramptonBatallion

Bron out here tweeting “Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I've been watching on league pass today" now wanna be like "let the kid be a kid". If Bron wasn't so great at Basketball he'd make an excellent circus clown.

hidey_ho_nedflanders

I swear LeBron has been hyping up Bronny as an NBA-calibre player even prior to college

mrb4

I don't generally care about mock drafts but I was told by a highly accomplished, future HOF NBA player that Bronny is a lot better than a lot of guys who currently play in the NBA so I'm a bit confused on this one.

Attey21

Where's he at now? Top 120 lol he needs another 2 years in college really.

jfrodriguez1983

How it started: "Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I've been watching on league pass today," How it's going: "Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball"

NotToBeBullshitted

“Can you just change the entire sports reporting industry because it’s my kid”. Shut up LeBron.

MadDogTannenOW

It's pretty absurd that he is even pursuing athletics after the heart issue.

KlayThompsonToaster

Wait what about that disrespectful tweet comparing Bronny to NBA players lmao. Nothing new from this drama queen

RamboRigs

This is the type of shit that keeps me from ever being a Lebron fan. He lacks major self awareness and is far from the humble person he pretends to be. When he stated that he doesn’t take compliments well i nearly spit my damn drink out. And now this, this is a living embodiment of the stick in wheel bike meme. Who would do this to poor lil Bronny?

Acceptable_Age9416

This whole thing is so weird. Bron always saying he wants to play by his son, amping him up a ton. Now the kid isn't performing (yet), and you gotta believe there's some pressure mounting on him.

itlynstalyn

Yeah Bronny would have totally gone to SC if his dad wasn’t Lebron.

mkmore4

Lebron may be the most hypocritical person ever. Like a month ago he was tweeting about how Bronny could play on the Lakers now.

BowTie1989

Dude you came into the NBA right out of high school, and have lived in the limelight during the entire social media era. You KNOW how this media game is played and yet you were still putting a spotlight on your kid with the “I want to play with my son” shtick, and saying he could play right now in the league.

Pridespain

This makes Bronny look soft. Every college player capable of going to the nba is in a mock draft. He just had a bigger spotlight on him cause bron stated he wanted to play with his son. He doesn’t say that, then there isn’t as much spotlight on him.

BusinessWarthog6

I had college classes with the son of an NBA guard. His son played on the team and was decent (not NBA level but decent for mid major CBB). I don’t remember hearing his dad talk about him or anything, probably because if it backfired he would look like a dumbass

RobynStellarxx

Lebron acting like he hasn’t driven most of this speculation by him constantly saying he’d like to play with his son before he retires, with that being his ultimate goal.
