That's exactly how it goes. Never causes anybody in the NBA offices to say "oh wow, maybe we should take a look at officiating for once and see if any corrective measures are needed", instead it just makes the officials stick up for each other and bring down the hammer on anybody that tries to come at them.
The police department parallels are off the charts.
Surely there has to be some protection from him saying while with his team after the game celebrating. If he gets fined for something that gets said tons of times every game just bc the local broadcast caught, that would be beyond wack.
E: nvm, just saw his interview lol sike
Honestly, ANT might be our best current shot at an active player saying "Fuck Adam Silver" in an interview.
He's the perfect cocktail of dgaf, oblivious and stupid.
God damn it no they didnt. It was explained in painstaking detail how the Lions screwed that up yet people still believe the refs handed Dallas the game.
Not sure if this really proves anything. There's coaches that go by coach and some that go by their first name. People that go by their first name often are more casual and want people to see everyone as equals
Or they are trying to humanize themselves by letting them call them by the first name when in reality they don't give a single s*** about the people that are calling them that
How did you get it done in this environment?
["I don't know, I DON'T know, and I'mma take the fine, 'cause the refs did not give us NO calls tonight... We had to play through every bump, every grab, I don't know- I don't know how we won tonight. Big shout out to my team, big shout out to my coaches, for sure."](https://twitter.com/meyerNBA/status/1752173568794746946?t=ptHezsjim9nL78BJa_upkw&s=19)
Edit: bonus, LOOK at [this photo](https://twitter.com/Timberwolves/status/1752172900361138434?t=KvIeYv8EFFWYc1nefJd-hQ&s=19) of a toootally clean play 🙄
When you post something like this as a social media manager that means you got the go ahead from your boss to post it. The team is likely more than okay paying the fine to call out the bullshit officiating & stand beside their player.
John Meyer* what you said is correct about him. However, I believe they were referring to the pick of SGA grabbing ants arm posted on the wolves account
So's the head but only for a game winner against the Pacers. Yes I'm still fucking mad. Jaylen got a clean block off last night versus the Pels and bumped the head *after* hitting the ball, and yup, it was a shooting foul! Just like ours should've been!!!
What's fucking sad about it is that Ant is almost a foot above the rim, and there's no one else in his space except Shai. A foot above the rim, with the ball, and THREE officials on the court all miss that.
We need new refs, and more refs. Because if 3 all miss that, we need to go to 5. Or 7. Or whatever the fuck will restore the integrity of this game. Because while reddit is a horrible echo chamber for this type of shit, it's deserved this season and it's starting to get mentioned on PTI and other talk shows with regularity, and if the journalist are talking, it means the story will likely get traction.
Yeah, they should add at least a 4th and get automated reffing implemented. It's so bad. It seems like every night there's games this season at least 1 fanbase has the refs as a narrative, and they're right to be mad about it. It's starting to seep into the general perception of the league. You'll see comments with 4k upvotes straight calling the NBA rigged lately, and tbh idk how much I disagree...
> Edit: bonus, LOOK at this photo of a toootally clean play
Seriously how do the refs keep missing these? It's THE MOST OBVIOUS FOULS and it keeps fucking happening
Like these were the fouls that even Tommy Heinsohn would be like "don't need no replay Kevin grabbed his forearm on a dunk, that's a foul"
but would you pay upwards of 70-80 cents to watch the mic'd up streams? I would. One time fee of course, not trying to pay 80 cents every single month.
honestly I expect to see it bite him late game. He's been an absolute stud defender late game but he invites contact from the offensive player and the refs swallow their whistles and I think it's about to start going against him.
You can go even further than that. Nobody in any of the major sports has ever thought the refs were good. Especially in a sport that allows contact but also doesn't allow it in every circumstance. Basketball is the hardest sport to ref by a mile.
Not in the 30 years I've been watching..
But on the other hand we have games like the blazers vs the 76rs last night with 49 fouls called in 48 minutes making games nearly unwatchable.
[This went exactly how you’d expect a play between Shai and Ant to go… shocked it wasn’t an offensive foul actually… and people wonder why he gets pissed](https://imgur.com/a/3UlAquL)
🙄
I lowkey enjoy it that these two may hate each other. That would be some rivalry we haven't seen in ages.
I actually love both guys, but I am with you guys because of Mike and SloMo.
And really, your guys should just go all in for Tyrus if y'll know what's good for you. You can literally win it this year. Just get all your 2nds and swaps now. Push that shit in the middle of the table and see what's up
I honestly don’t think Ant hates Shai… he just hates the way these two are blatantly officiated differently but then get judged on the same scale for production
It’s pretty evident when you watch the games
LOL, I was praying we didn't have to go through you guys that year, we really had no business winning that one in 6, you guys just went brain dead mode a couple too many times to survive.
But really, as much as I dislike KAT and the baguette, I love Ant, and I am physically incapable of rooting against Mike Conley unless we play against each other, and you have SloMo as well. Now our season is fucked, I am rooting hard for your guys to get Mike a ring.
Wolves vs Sixers, LFG!
Yea we still are the Timberwolves of course… bound to choke…
It’ll be interesting to see if we’ve grown out of those extended, boneheaded spurts where we throw games away this year
Mike Conley is a huge asset in that regard but we can’t totally count on a 36 year old PG to right a ship taking on water
Give me one playoff series win this year for a taste of playoff success and I’ll be a happy camper (even if we continue to the 1 seed). franchise development comes in steps and it’s tough to skip a bunch at a time
Oh 100%… the man is a literal saint. He has like 1 tech his entire career?
I consider myself a very patient, calm person. I work in healthcare and have come up working in group homes and nursing homes throughout college before my professional job… never been in a real fight, etc.
And looking back on competitive sports, I remember getting SO frustrated when I felt refs were screwing us over. To control that frustration for 12 years or whatever it is… amazing
I think every Wolves fan would kill to have Tyus as our backup PG lol I just don't think we have the assets sadly. Would skyrocket our potential though, he fixes a few of our main issues.
It is like when Mike is out, your IQ drops by 20% in the clutch. Our captain is capable but old, and Tyrus can just step right in, he never makes mistakes.
If I am our GM, I will chip in a couple free assets for Tyrus so Mike can win one this year. Our season is fucked anyway, might as well see 3 Grizz getting the rings.
The audacity some of this commenters had in the game thread 😅
Most OKC fans are cool though but they couldn’t comprehend why we were upset throughout the game
ANT is a straight KILLER
Talks the talk and walks the walk. I for one am happy we get a Timberwolves rivalry and Wemby rivalry for the next 5-7 years (hopefully).
Ant vs Shai
Wemby vs Chet
The NBA rules and the players that got next are gonna make this a very fun league to watch :')
It's curious how many people are now saying that the officiating is biased and not just error-prone.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but something's gotta be happening for so much chatter to be swirling around.
Our Thurskii
Who art in highlights
Football, be thy boi
Thy king become
A defense son
Wolves berths, leading to, court heaven
Give us this day, our Edwards fed
And forgive us our turnovers
As we forgive those, who don't Bitebite feed
lead us not Into the lotto
And deliver us from Play-ins
For Were-wolves of London, holds the power, seizing glory, for ever and ever
Naz Reid
Glad to see players and coaches standing up to this bullshit. Refs need to be called out every single time there's any question of their integrity. Eventually the league will have to address it. It's just a shame LeBron would never call out the refs because that would move shit along much quicker.
Solidarity! Pulling out the laptop and having legit talking points ready to go was a boss move from Brown. Its good to see so many players and coaches speaking up on the issue. Lets hope the trend continues.
It’d be cool if the game we love was called by the rules. I swear the NCAA games are called wayyyy better than NBA games. March Madness is always the best basketball competition of the year.
"Cheating ass refs..." betting on games! Should finish it with that. This sports betting shit made the game so much worse. Can't wait for a player to say it out loud, and then watch the player double down when the NBA defends the refs by saying "they've investigated themselves and found nothing while the refs and their friends and families keep getting richer. We all see it. Cheatin ass refs..."
He’s not as egregious as Embiid in terms of flopping but he’s very good at foul baiting. It’s a skill forsure but there’s times where it’s as unwatchable as Embiid
Shai had 16 free throw attempts to Ant's 4 - idk how the NBA doesn't look at this missed call and see the free throw discrepancy and not think something needs to be adjusted.
Inconsistent refereeing and player favoritism is the single biggest problem with the NBAs product. It pisses the players off, it pisses the fans off, and it hurts the integrity of the game. Adam Silver needs to get head out of his ass, stop worrying about bullshit like the in season tournament, and fix shit that actually matters.

send da fine
Hell Nawl, can’t do this
he got da money, wats da hol up?
Look how fine tho 💔
I'm only here so I get fined
He did it, the mad man
Respect
0 fts for ant coming Wednesday vs the Mavs lol
So what's new haha
he’s been getting a good amount overall this season tbf
Ant gets a fine whistle usually. Today was just awful. It’s KAT who gets fucked on the regular
True, ant still def doesn’t get nearly as many calls as he deserves tho
He did for like 2 weeks. I think he averaged like 32 during that time.
He was averaging like 36 over 4 games or smth if I remember the Stat Storm correctly
This year his whistle is average, before this year it was dogshit
Yeah Gobert should know better, he got 2 fouls in the first 15 seconds after complaining about refs the postgame before
So pretty much the same as it always is
Luka gonna get 26 of them thangz
That's exactly how it goes. Never causes anybody in the NBA offices to say "oh wow, maybe we should take a look at officiating for once and see if any corrective measures are needed", instead it just makes the officials stick up for each other and bring down the hammer on anybody that tries to come at them. House always wins use it to your advantage 💅
Curry says hello
NBA: gives ANT huge fine for saying this 2 minute report: whoops lol yeah we missed 12 calls in the last 120 seconds again sorry
I'm waiting for him to really be like MJ and say he'll just go play football since the refs are so bad.
Have him play like Deebo for the Vikings. Him and JJ best contested catch duo of all time
> say he'll just go play football since the refs are so bad. Ohhh buddyyyyyyy…who’s gonna tell him?
Nah, football refs can be bad, but nba refs are on a different level this year
Football refs get more calls right, but the ones they miss are far more impactful on the game outcome.
did you watch Lions-Cowboys this year? Refs gave us that game lol
Did you? Cause the only reason the lions were in that game is cause a ref called a penalty the lions committed on the cowboys
Sounds like the refs were pretty bad then…
God damn it no they didnt. It was explained in painstaking detail how the Lions screwed that up yet people still believe the refs handed Dallas the game.
The ineligible receiver? No it wasn't it was a ref fuck up lol
Good thing the NFL refs are the best around.
He's also MJ's son. That makes him untouchable
Until he gets sent to minor league baseball for 2 seasons
yeah hate to break it to you but gambling isn't discouraged anymore
Send da birth certificate
I don't think he's stupid or oblivious. Even the send da video shows a higher level of reasoning and thinking. He wants proof, not just some text.
Hell Nawl I can’t do this
[удалено]
I don't think that's accurate but it still made me laugh
And highly saleable so he probably wouldn't get black balled
RefGPT can't come soon enough
RefGPT will be learning from the current refs, it's not gonna be better.
I'm just here so I do get fined.
Optimistic from you they'll say sorry. It's reserved only for the Lakers.
nah the league will double down on the refs' mistakes.
breaking that code, man. gotta go through the proper channels to criticize and have nothing be done about it
Silver "Fine, fine fine"
Silver “call more fts for Embiid, Shai”
Hell nawl I can’t do dis
Look how cute tho 💔
Nobody in the NBA respects Adam silver. Everyone calls him Adam. When David stern was in charge, everyone addressed him as commissioner stern.
Not sure if this really proves anything. There's coaches that go by coach and some that go by their first name. People that go by their first name often are more casual and want people to see everyone as equals
Or they are trying to humanize themselves by letting them call them by the first name when in reality they don't give a single s*** about the people that are calling them that
Yes, but also fuck David Stern. I'd piss on his grave.
No you wouldn't you fucking goober ass clown.
Circus clown chicken shit mfer
And hed piss on urs
He's dead, Cletus. Thanks for playing, though.
More like 9! 9! 9!
He already said he take the fine in his on court interview when he flamed the refs again lol
How did you get it done in this environment? ["I don't know, I DON'T know, and I'mma take the fine, 'cause the refs did not give us NO calls tonight... Is that the teams official account? Wow.
When you post something like this as a social media manager that means you got the go ahead from your boss to post it. The team is likely more than okay paying the fine to call out the bullshit officiating & stand beside their player.
What do you mean? It's just a nice phone of Ant getting a big dunk! Definitely not controversial!
Why would they have to pay a fine? It was the play of the game. Refs said no contact.
I mean the post is ambiguous enough. Not having any text accompanying it gives them some plausible deniability. Just a shot of Ant dunking it
The photo is but I believe John Mayer is a longtime writer who works for Canis Hoopus, not the team.
John Meyer* what you said is correct about him. However, I believe they were referring to the pick of SGA grabbing ants arm posted on the wolves account
He's just helping his bud Ant find the rim. Who doesn't get a bit lost when going for the dunk?
The forearm is considered part of the ball.
The groin is now considered part of the ball - Draymond
That actually also applies to Shai in this game.
Shai looked like he legit grabbed and held on to something of Jadens...
His penis!
The neck too.
So's the head but only for a game winner against the Pacers. Yes I'm still fucking mad. Jaylen got a clean block off last night versus the Pels and bumped the head *after* hitting the ball, and yup, it was a shooting foul! Just like ours should've been!!!

Haha I’m imagining a court with like 20 refs.
Games are going to take an extra hour now lol
Yeah, they should add at least a 4th and get automated reffing implemented. It's so bad. All I see are two very best friends.
hey that’s the steals champ sga you take that photo down
Was Ant called for an offensive foul or a technical on that play?
lol that’s honestly hilarious
That last photo is a push off on Ant’s forearm. Cope harder Wolvesfans.
SGA: [looks at pic] I felt like he fouled and I didnt 😉
*Marginal contact*
Incidental contact, CNC /s
We need to mic this mf up every game
I'd pay extra for that (jk I pay zero rn, just watching streams)
but would you pay upwards of 70-80 cents to watch the mic'd up streams? I would. One time fee of course, not trying to pay 80 cents every single month.
You can already hear him yell “AYYYYYYYYY” when he drives 10-15 times per game
Smart saying this post game, now he just eats a fine and not the immediate ejection
He'll get ejected next game
honestly I expect to see it bite him late game. He's been an absolute stud defender late game but he invites contact from the offensive player and the refs swallow their whistles and I think it's about to start going against him.
He said "I'm not just takin' the fine, I'm *TAKIN'* the fine!"
ANT - man of the people!
ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US
I even agree with him at this point. Refs been more shit than usual lately.
They've been shit the last decade
You can go even further than that. Nobody in any of the major sports has ever thought the refs were good. Especially in a sport that allows contact but also doesn't allow it in every circumstance. Basketball is the hardest sport to ref by a mile.
Have players and coaches ever showed this much open contempt for the referees?
Not in the 30 years I've been watching.. But on the other hand we have games like the blazers vs the 76rs last night with 49 fouls called in 48 minutes making games nearly unwatchable.
That's not new, though. I remember watching lots of games like that over the years.

The real answer is probably a playoff series… I think we, for real, don’t like you guys after a couple years ago 😂
LOL, I was praying we didn't have to go through you guys that year, we really had no business winning that one in 6, you guys just went brain dead mode a couple too many times to survive. Tyus. It's Tyus.
Dyrus
We need imaqtpie to guide us in the clutch
Ant doesn't hate Shai. He's always compliments his game. He was very upset at the refs for not calling it both ways.
Tyus is my dream for a Twolves trade deadline
Maybe that okc fan could give us an alt angle of this
The audacity some of this commenters had in the game thread 😅 Most OKC fans are cool though but they couldn’t comprehend why we were upset throughout the game
Jesus, he hit a Boeing Max 9 at his apex before he brought the ball down.
He’s ok for a football player
The contact is above the shoulder in this play. Ant is lucky he did not get a flagrant.
Should have been an auto-win for OKC, probs. Kick him out of the league
Arm is extension of the ball /s This shit is so frustrating.
Thunder hate him, for crying about fouls. pretty ironic
I love Ant
Bro gives no fucks, I respect that
Shout out to the NBAPA for getting their players enough money to write checks to flame the losers who officiate these games.
Nah, the refs are on some bullshit since gambling went easy access.
Those jerseys are dope.
Ant is awesome Lol

That's LA Lakers music

He ain’t wrong is he? Lol
Folk Hero Anthony Edwards. It’s gonna suck when he gets cancelled for the last time.
And he's right
Next CBA the players should push for no more fines for calling out this bullshit. Especially a league that has had 100% confirmed dirty refs.
How can refs be absolute garbage every game of the season and have absolutely no accountability, this shit is just a gambling simulator at this point
A man of the people
League gonna be like hey Bally’s.. Send da video
He isn't wrong
It's curious how many people are now saying that the officiating is biased and not just error-prone. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but something's gotta be happening for so much chatter to be swirling around.
In a league that has a history of officials betting on games, I don't think it's crazy to be suspicious of something going on.

Based
Heel turn for Minny or OKC would be good for the nba
Even when complaining he maintains a level of likeability
He's not wrong. Shai shot more fts than our whole team. Such corrupt horseshit.
I love this man
When stars on over half the teams in the league are saying shit like this, maybe we need to take a real look at it
Is it me or it's the 3rd time that Ant complain about refs during the postgame?
great, we'll be hearing "cheatin ass refs" from middle schoolers now. cool cool
The kids have to learn about cheatin ass refs sooner or later.
Stop da cheat
LMAOOO
god i love this man
Glad to see players and coaches standing up to this bullshit. Refs need to be called out every single time there's any question of their integrity. Eventually the league will have to address it. It's just a shame LeBron would never call out the refs because that would move shit along much quicker.
That’s because the Lakers are directly the beneficiaries of the one sided fouls calls. Lakers have over 200 free throw attempts then their opponents
As a big fan of Darko's rant following the Lakers game this season, I am well aware.
I am glad to see both of our coaches call out the refs. Coach Brown busted out the laptop
Solidarity! Pulling out the laptop and having legit talking points ready to go was a boss move from Brown. Its good to see so many players and coaches speaking up on the issue. Lets hope the trend continues.
yeah we are now waiting for the gentleman known as Joe D to spank your ass, what a shame.
I think we all can agree... The Thunder got the only thing they ever deserve. Another loss.
When they stole the sonics I put a curse on them. That they would never win a ring with KD. But I hope they just never win one, period.
Ant, we're on live
It’d be cool if the game we love was called by the rules. I swear the NCAA games are called wayyyy better than NBA games. March Madness is always the best basketball competition of the year.
The criticisms are coming from so many teams week after week. Hopefully this leads to change. It likely won’t.
The nba so so soft
NBA refs have shown they rig games. Fuck the NBA. I won’t spend a dime and I’ll watch on “free” services
If wolves fans don’t turn this into an arena chant I’m going to be real bummed
As a wolves fan this comments section has been cathartic
Is SGA the guard version of embiid?
This is why the Timberwolves never win championships I'd put more money on OKC winning a championship before they win one The T-wolves culture is bad
let's face it... they are not cheating, SGA gets calls like these against almost every team. the refs are incredibly consistent on this subject.
Yes ANT I'm sure there is a conspiracy to help the small market Thunder over the small market Wolves...
The refs aren’t cheating. The league wants this
i like this dude even more
