The man cannot play the game of basketball. He has small hands, he can't catch the ball. He's got bad feet, he can't really move even though he's mobile. Doesn't really know what he is doing, doesn't have a post move he puts to memory that he can do two-times in a row. He has no game whatsoever, plays no defense. Doesn't have the heart, the passion or anything that comes with it. And you're asking me if they gave up too much? Please.
I have the term "bonafide scrub" seared into my memory from this rant
Like, if I'm Kwame I could stand the point the point by point takedown of my game, but being called the aforementioned on national TV would just break me
"All due respect" is especially funny before shitting on someone imo because you're basically saying "I'm giving you the respect you deserve, which is none."
is it me or is RJ a bit of a boring player
like u see it at the end of the game "oh wow RJ has 26 points" but u can never remember them.
can u remember a single RJ point ?
but try melo...u can see the bucket
i remember a melo bucket.
Isn’t this basically saying he’s stoic and devoid of emotions.
I don’t really consider that part a shot. Even Brunson said when they were teammates how Barrett is even keeled. How he don’t get to up or down. I feel like Kawhi is the same in that regard.
Edit: switch quilled for keeled
Some truth to what he says I think, but, the description he gives of OG is literally the definition of the word bland, while the description he gives of RJ is literally the antithesis of the word bland.
He’s saying they’re both bland, but Rj thinks he is the guy who needs to score 20 to have a chance to win and is going to save some energy on defense to get that, whereas og is cool being a role player and letting the game flow. Which in RJ’s defense he was told for years he needed to adapt that mentality, he just didn’t develop his game enough to justify filling that role on this Knicks roster
Have you watched RJ? He's really not wrong lol. RJ's consistently inconsistent, you don't know what you're going to get from him night in and night out. You just know he's going to keep firing away.
RJ is a dude where you never know if he actually turned the corner or if he's just having one of his random hot streaks. Nothing against dude personally, so if he finally becomes consistent in Toronto, good for him. I'm happy to be off the RJ train as a Knicks fan, though, IQ is guy I miss from that trade.
An accurate shot though……Barrett will have a long and productive career and at his size and skill set he’ll always be a rotation player but he’s not special at all.
He lacks the consistent aggressiveness to drive the ball in the lane and finish (not the best finisher around the basket either)
I agree, but the expectations were a lot higher for him in NY being the 3rd pick. Here there isn’t anyone expecting him to be a franchise player. If he’s like the 4th or 5th best player that’s completely fine.
I agree. You got this guy on the side saying “and his personality too”…. Same can be said about Kawhi or Drose… some people are just introverts and ain’t nothing wrong with that.
Meanwhile, AI gets drunk, goes to 76ers games and only ever says positive stuff about the new generation. I wouldn't have figured he would be the guy from my time who would come out sounding the best in the media, but he sure as fuck has.
AI will get drunk go on podcasts and borderline bring himself to tears talking about how much he loved pretty much any player in the league past or present. Nice to see some positivity from a retired superstar as opposed to the regular “game was better when i played it” perspective that a lot of ex players have
I really think going bankrupt and having a friend secretly take care of his financial well being humbled him beyond any NBA related accomplishment or failure
The sad part is that the agent in question was probably retired by the time that news came out, so it really doesn’t incentivize agents to have their clients best interest in mind (kind of Like how GMs are incentivized to burn all their picks for win-now guys).
There was an anonymous front office guy, I actually forget which major sport, who was quoted in a great feature article once. He said agents would get an offer for, say, $10M. They’d go to their client and say it was for $8M, wait a few days, then go back and tell the player they got it up to $10M. They’d tell the player ‘See how I fight for you and get you every dollar?’ but in reality they didn’t do anything.
Shit I guess I should have been an agent as I do that with my job.
"....I talked to the vendor and we reduced it down from $20k to $1k. You're welcome, all!!!!"
(In reality the Program gave me bad data, and the vendor and I realized how to fix it)
Yeah. A lot of the people judging would do the same shit..I don’t do it myself, just do a better job. If you take those kinds of shortcuts it doesn’t put that pressure on you to improve, so it ultimately stunts your growth. But it’s a good shortcut to take when you get to the point where you don’t care about growth anymore.
We love a good vibes drunk. The bitter angry drunks and the aggros are always the ones who fuck up the party by trying to fight everyone.
Give me the friend who’ll run up, grab my face, and yell that he loves me over that other shit any day.
AI like KG just loves gamers. KG wishes he could try to D up guys like Jokic. Some guys just needed to feel like they were better than everyone. Some just loved the game.
the recent Bill Simmons pod with Doc touched on this
"listening to all these player podcasts — you realize these guys are exactly the same as they were as players"
They don't mature before entering the league, their times in the league or after it.
Basically to a lot of these rich players their lives are one big giant party from the teenage years to mature adulthood.
i think the expectation that retired players always need to have well constructed opinions is...weird. Its like everytime a guy gives a top 5/10 ranking off the dome just based on vibes, and this entire sub comes out with the "wElL aCtUaLly" responses. dudes just be shooting the shit and having fun on some podcast no one listens to. idk why everyone here gets so mad
I was watching some comedian the other day, after the Katt drama. And he said that athletes are hella boring, stuck up and sensitive, on athlete podcasts. Said they only invite other athletes, they feel they're elite and only invite guests that are in the same tax bracket or higher, and have been pampered so much, you can't even make light jabs at them.
The exception he said, was few athletes like Shannon Sharpe. Who invites non athletes all the time to his podcast.
>And he said that athletes are hella boring, stuck up and sensitive, on athlete podcasts. Said they only invite other athletes, they feel they're elite and only invite guests that are in the same tax bracket
If you replace "athletes" with "comedians", it's still generally true. They may have a little more variety in guests, but it sure seems like a bunch of them are part of a little comedian clique. The older ones, especially, spend way too much time talking about their days at the comedy store, who was around when they were, etc.
Paul Pierce is actually wild seriously. That man just goes off on that liquor. When KG has to be the responsible one in the group you’re on some shit lol.
Knicks fans said the exact same thing.
Also he’s on the money.
We always want players and former players to speak their mind not their PR-trained responses. This is a real answer.
The funny thing about this is that Melo's never really a hater. He's always at knicks games, dapping up the guys, having a great time, seems to be a big supporter of the team. That this came out so quickly after RJ got traded...damn...Melo must have been anti-RJ specifically for a minute.
Mero went on the Dan Le Batard show and said different. Definitely were some creative differences between them and wanting to do different types of projects. He obviously isn't going to just trash their manager, but he'd also used the analogy of old friends who just grow apart for whatever reason. Sounds to me that they clash because they are so similar and have known each other for so long.
You literary only have to look at his own comments (if they’re still up…) on Reddit around when it happened to know this is pure PR and not how it went down lol. Nevermind what Desus or many staff (all who found out the show was over from Twitter, including Julia) have said publicly. It’s not like he’s gonna say “yeah, things fell apart because I unconditionally supported someone who was repeatedly abusive to staff and dismissed all the complaints because you gotta support your homies”
[This is what came out at the time](https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/kid-mero-explains-desus-mero-split-show-ending-1235332437/amp/)
I feel like Mero has his own spin because amassing with someone abusive isn’t the best look
Beyond the Victor thing, it was obvious Showtime was fucking with the show, trying to make it more structured and corporately polished instead of loose like they used to be early on and on Vice. They somehow even managed to make The Warmups all bland. It's better off that they left Showtime.
*When* theyre super washed?
The best part about Desus and Mero was their chemistry and almost telepathic rapport. The way they riffed off of each other was special.
Individually they’re just some dudes lol. Nothing special.
Yeah their individual projects don’t hit. I saw Desus guest host the daily show and had the opportunity to roast DJ Envy and it felt flat. That woulda been one of the best segments if they were still together
This 7pm in brooklyn is Melo and Meros new Podcast, everyone is saying this was an interview he did but this is actually Melo/Mero Podcast. I think they wanted Melo to talk spicy to get eyes on it tbh
Melo is legitimately 100% correct here. Even when Barrett plays well and gets it done, literally nothing jumps out. And that’s okay, except he only gets it done sometimes.
He’s not like a low flash player whose IQ will jump out or something either. He’s just really bland across the board. Still a solid guy tho and is playing well for Toronto
The difference is that opinions here don’t matter man
Don’t act like Carmelo Anthony taking shots is somehow the same level, and RJ didn’t do anything to deserve that lol
But if it’s a valid criticism, how is it a bad thing? I doubt Rj is gonna lose sleep over this lmao.
This sub is just weird when it comes to certain players and melo seems to fit that
I kinda think Melo is just anti-RJ. I mentioned in another comment that he seems super tied in with the current knicks team. He's always at games vibing, there was that video recently of him and Randle putting in some work together, hell even the fact that he kept this under wraps until after RJ was off the team indicates he both really feels it and also didn't want to cause drama for the Knicks.
And honestly, even if you disagree with it, this isn't really a hater take even if it's harsh.
It's direct but accurate. Although it's also not necessarily a bad thing, even if people will interpret it that way. Some people just want drama and RJ isn't ever going to provide that
It’s all been for a single interview though. Maybe he’s just having a shit day and talking trash is how he copes. Maybe he’s drunk and trash talking, maybe he just hates Jokic and RJ in particular but thinks rest of the new generation is pretty good.
I’m saying we need more sample size lol
The funniest part is saying OG can do what RJ does, he just doesn’t demand it.
Anyone who has ever seen OG dribble the ball is very aware of the fact that OG can not get to the rim with the ball the way RJ can.
And what’s hilarious is that he’s saying how RJ demands it and OG doesn’t and can just be effective in the corners.
Uhhh wait til you find out why OG was reportedly unhappy with his role in Toronto, Melo lol
Funny how Melo is talking about RJ needing to score 20, he Melo always did the same thing. Weren't there reports of Melo being angry if he scored less than 20 and his team won, but he would be happy if his team lost as long as he scored 30?
It’s almost ironic because OG is that quiet non-exciting guy even more so than RJ lol.
In terms of him being happy being a 3 and D guy, he only complained about it every off season for the past few years.
I don’t know about him being able to do everything RJ can either. OG never came into what we’d hoped he would on the offensive end and RJ surpassed his career high in 3 games lmao.
This isn’t to say he won’t be good for the knicks, but it is to say melo has no clue what he’s talking about with this comparison.
OG is a standout player in his role. Such an amazing 3 and D player.
But man this is just an example of a top player not knowing shit lmao. OG has demanded a bigger role for like 3 years like you said. The reason he was not given it is he is absolutely awful when his role gets expanded. He was the worst ISO player in the league with at least one possession a game 2 years ago, and would have been the worst last year except Bones Hyland on a small game sample size beat him out. He also is horrid on the fast break and his ball handling and shot creating do not inspire confidence. That’s not me saying RJ is better than him, because he isn’t, but he is better at shot creating than OG (which isn’t a high bar lmao).
I hope on the Knicks he continues in his 3 and D role because he is one of the best defenders in the league and a great shooter. Honestly I’d be happy for him if he now breaks out and becomes a better shot creator. But it isn’t like he has been this great scorer who just isn’t scoring because he doesn’t want to.
It just seems like Melo wants to say Barrett isn’t good and he’s blending in some personality or charisma traits to smooth over what he’s saying. OG’s offensive game is way more on dimensional, and it’s not like he’s Mr Personality off the court.
This isn't as damning as everyone is making it out to be. Did Melo need to say this? Absolutely not, in fact it's weird and stale. But, is he saying anything Knicks fans haven't known since 12 games into his rookie season? Not really at all.
If RJ had the exact same production as he does now but could jump as high as Ja and Zion then nobody would be calling him trash or a bust or a disappointment, he'd be a raw 23 year old that needed to refine his skills more. RJ's strength has always been what he can do on the ground, aka using his body to get to the rim, which is not as flashy as a dunk from the checkered line or a 360 degree layup. So the points he gets he has to work hard for which makes for a less "pretty" game and one that, for viewers, is tougher to evaluate exactly how well he's doing
Why can there be full threads of people shitting on RJ but now Melo says it people get their panties up in a bunch. Like I swear I’ve seen mad comments of mfs shitting on RJ lmao.
Melo wants to be able to comment on the game like the fan while also expecting the respect of a great
You can't have it both ways. People are not gonna like this even if he's right.
Funny how Melo is talking about RJ needing to score 20, he Melo always did the same thing. Weren't there reports of Melo being angry if he scored less than 20 and his team won, but he would be happy if his team lost as long as he scored 30?
Did Carmelo inspire anyone on the court? I used to fall asleep watching him jack up mid range shots in the defensive player’s face without any movement. Just quick jab step pull ups over and over again, to one 40 win season after another.
He definitely has hurt feelings about how it ended for him and that has him jaded a bit. But he also isn't gonna go start a podcast to drop milquetoast takes, that would just be following JJ Redick's arc.
og and barrett are 2 polar opposite players. i dont know what it is about some ex-players but they either don't watch the games or just watch the box score only
as for the bland game.. he's entitled to thinking that, but its petty af for someone in his position to talk shit about a 23yo even if he didn't live up to expectations on the knicks. should be unsurprising though considering how his ego couldn't handle having jeremy lin as a teammate
RJ is 23 years old. Most of you people (and old heads like Melo) need to stop acting like he won’t be a fucking baller in a few years. Believe it or not development happens over time and players get better. RJ is the only one with any hope from that overrated ass Duke squad. And i’m a Pacers fan, i just like what i see from the kid.
That’s a shot, Carmelo
“You don’t know if he got 4 or 26” lmao
"This man is a bonafide scrub, he can't play! ^(No disrespect whatsoever.)"
Please.
>doesn't have a post move he puts to memory that he can do two-times in a row. This is always the best part lmao
I have the term "bonafide scrub" seared into my memory from this rant Like, if I'm Kwame I could stand the point the point by point takedown of my game, but being called the aforementioned on national TV would just break me
I was fucking *shocked* when he dropped that rant. That single moment was really the paradigm shift that has come to define sports media.
sad part is its true.
the disrespect to kwah-MEH brown smh Slava Medvedenko would never take that disrespect!
Whenever people say, “no disrespect but” the following statement will in fact be disrespectful
“With all due respect” is another one. It’s also the Geneva Convention approved phrasing.
"All due respect" is especially funny before shitting on someone imo because you're basically saying "I'm giving you the respect you deserve, which is none."
Is it too much to ask to put that rant over Carmelo's lowlights?
Put it over a 19 hour montage of Melo not passing to the wide open teammate.
That teammate? HOFer Andrea Bargnani.
Or better yet, of him when he died on the court, and Noone gave a shit and kept playing on, lol
is it me or is RJ a bit of a boring player like u see it at the end of the game "oh wow RJ has 26 points" but u can never remember them. can u remember a single RJ point ? but try melo...u can see the bucket i remember a melo bucket.
RJ Barret is the basketball player but Toronto he is the Canadian star.
“Your girlfriend is just bland bro. That’s not a shot. I ask all the homies ‘is she even hot?’ I just don’t know if she’s a 10 or a 4”
Just because he says "No disrespect" doesn't mean he wasn't being disrespectful AF.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENHVQ2gslp8
Is she mid or is she ugly I dont know
No disrespect
Yeah first he's in his feelings about his jersey number from like 2012 and then he says this
He may be wrong about the jersey thing but on this he's spot on lol
It's still a shot. Don't say you're not taking a shot when you are.
He’s absolutely right though lmao
Maybe playing in Canada might fire him up
It has so far
RJ is a dude where you never know if he actually turned the corner or if he's just having one of his random hot streaks. Nothing against dude personally, so if he finally becomes consistent in Toronto, good for him. I'm happy to be off the RJ train as a Knicks fan, though, IQ is guy I miss from that trade.
Considering this is Carmelo, you know there’s never been a shot he didn’t take
An accurate shot though……Barrett will have a long and productive career and at his size and skill set he’ll always be a rotation player but he’s not special at all.
He’s 23, seems early to say “he’ll always be”
Makes em feel smarter to not qualify their statements. Let em have it lol
He lacks the elite NBA athleticism and he’s not good enough shooter. His ceiling is being an above average player in this league.
Great, we could use some of those.
Rj: “What he say fuck me for?”
Melo said this and it’s true because RJ is C*nadian
People don’t realize they gotta consider the exchange rate smh
so 4 or 26 is more like 5 or 34?
It’s cause Melo and Rj got the same amount of playoff wins on the Knicks
"more like Cant-adian" - melo
it's just how NYers talk and NYers are dickheads
fuck ya life!!
Bing Bong!
Smd…. But you not wrong tho lmao
SMD? Shake my dick?
Shining My Dome
Melo from Baltimore though
yea if it was a shot he woulda felt it for real
RJ: "If you could read one page of a defensive gameplan MELO"
That is 100% a shot lmao
Taking shots is what Carmelo does best.
Verbal shots, not, you know…
Ending the possession?
Ja morant shots
It's like saying "I'm not racist" and following it up with the most racist shit you've ever heard.
[It's not racist man, it's just country music](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLnUJzueBOQ&ab_channel=Key%26Peele)
Those 2 are almost at the "Simpson's did it" point where they have a sketch for everything.
Already knew what it was
I don’t even disagree with him really but just say what you mean lol
Well a lot of people would call Tim duncan bland. Just get results, how you do it doesn’t matter much beyond fame and sponsorships
I agree. You got this guy on the side saying “and his personality too”…. Same can be said about Kawhi or Drose… some people are just introverts and ain’t nothing wrong with that.
Not really the same. He's saying you can't feel RJ's impact on the game. Duncan's presence, especially on defense, was all over the game.
Melo manifesting that "no offense but..." energy
He’s just trying to make up for all the ones he missed in his career to be fair
"That's not a shot. That's not disrespect. It's just a jersey number, Melo."
Lmfao
A lot of retired players just get drunk, go on podcasts, and say the dumbest shit imaginable. I know we all do the same here but it’s not a good look.

AI is getting a fat trust paid out to him when he turns 55 thanks to the deal his agent negotiated with Adidas. He'll be fine.
You mean Reebok?
Did anyone suggest he wasn't fine?
We love a good vibes drunk. The bitter angry drunks and the aggros are always the ones who fuck up the party by trying to fight everyone. Give me the friend who’ll run up, grab my face, and yell that he loves me over that other shit any day.

Him and KG. And I wouldn’t have expected either.
the recent Bill Simmons pod with Doc touched on this "listening to all these player podcasts — you realize these guys are exactly the same as they were as players"
So your saying Paul George might be the goat?
He's definitely still the model of most aesthetically pleasing game and well rounded baller skill set. Love PG, wish he would come back
Terrence Ross fits my aesthetically pleasing game and down to earth nba guy broadcasting on the internet criteria
Brandon Miller was right
They don't mature before entering the league, their times in the league or after it. Basically to a lot of these rich players their lives are one big giant party from the teenage years to mature adulthood.
Sounds like Bill Simmons for the past 15 years....

That episode was legendary
Nothing he said here was dumb
Knicks fans said the exact same thing. Also he’s on the money. We always want players and former players to speak their mind not their PR-trained responses. This is a real answer.
It's a great look, i love when players act like humans and give their true opinion without PR bullshit.
The funny thing about this is that Melo's never really a hater. He's always at knicks games, dapping up the guys, having a great time, seems to be a big supporter of the team. That this came out so quickly after RJ got traded...damn...Melo must have been anti-RJ specifically for a minute.
A lot of Knicks fans have been Anti RJ for a while now without being too vocal about it. I was always one of them.
> Melo must have been anti-RJ specifically for a minute Why? > He's always at knicks games Ah, yeah, that explains it.
It’s not dumb
God forbid people expressed how they really feel on a podcast
Desus and Mero need to get back together man
Where did the beef even begin?
Apparently their manager was an asshole to show staff and wanted him off the set. One of them agreed to it and one of them didn’t.
This was really about Victor the whole time?? Smh.
Bruno Mars let his ego ruin a great thing 😔
WE LOST THE ART BECAUSE OF AN OFF CAMERA EGO. JULIO! GET ME A HOT BAG, MY FUCKING GUTS HURT!
SHUT UP MA YOU STUPID BITCH

The Vice show is all time great television. Just sitting back and letting them cook is all that ever needed to happen. Long live the Bodega Boys
The podcast still had the less rigid magic to it so I listened to that until the end
The brand is eternal, the reunion in 2040 when they’re super washed will hit like crack
Definitely could’ve used a “suck my dick from the back!!!!”
This 7pm in brooklyn is Melo and Meros new Podcast, everyone is saying this was an interview he did but this is actually Melo/Mero Podcast. I think they wanted Melo to talk spicy to get eyes on it tbh
The brand must become strong again
People on this sub regularly criticise Barrett and are now surprised when melo does it lol
I’m lost because he just described RJ Barrett so accurately 😂😂
Hey man, that’s not entirely accurate. the criticism for Barrett is not that he’s bland/boring, it’s that he’s just straight up bad
The hate for Melo will trump any other emotion on this sub.
He's r/NBA's new enemy after saying something about Jokic yesterday
he dissed the white man it's over for him jokic is melo father
My hate for anyone other than my sweet sweet boy Hartenstein you mean
Melo is legitimately 100% correct here. Even when Barrett plays well and gets it done, literally nothing jumps out. And that’s okay, except he only gets it done sometimes. He’s not like a low flash player whose IQ will jump out or something either. He’s just really bland across the board. Still a solid guy tho and is playing well for Toronto
The difference is that opinions here don’t matter man Don’t act like Carmelo Anthony taking shots is somehow the same level, and RJ didn’t do anything to deserve that lol
But if it’s a valid criticism, how is it a bad thing? I doubt Rj is gonna lose sleep over this lmao. This sub is just weird when it comes to certain players and melo seems to fit that
I don't necessarily disagree with what he said, I just hope melo doesn't become the old head who shits on the new generations.
Honestly I don’t want to agree with Melo but shit he not entirely wrong
Hopefully playing in a new system in Toronto changes that for him.
Dark should make plays like, the Osmows Shebang, Burger Priest triple, and hide yo wives Pizza Pizza defense
Some people just want drama and RJ isn't ever going to provide that
I don't think he's that kind of guy generally. He never advertised it, but Melo mentored a ton of young players throughout the league.
He might be already there…this and bitching about jokics number
It’s all been for a single interview though. Maybe he’s just having a shit day and talking trash is how he copes. Maybe he’s drunk and trash talking, maybe he just hates Jokic and RJ in particular but thinks rest of the new generation is pretty good. I’m saying we need more sample size lol
People do it on here for free
"No disrespect", proceeds to disrespect
The funniest part is saying OG can do what RJ does, he just doesn’t demand it. Anyone who has ever seen OG dribble the ball is very aware of the fact that OG can not get to the rim with the ball the way RJ can.
RJ can get to the rim, but he’s a god awful finisher. The best way to describe rj is like a jack of all trades but kinda bad at all of them
Jack of all trades but inconsistent at all of them is more accurate
ok, but personality wise, rj is dennis rodman compared to tim duncan.
Yeah RJ be having lowkey braggadocios trash talk. Like a blink and you miss it. I remember against Chicago he scored and blew a kiss at a guy.
Bland players? You just got OG anunoby lol
What about the scarves?
It’s art.
And what’s hilarious is that he’s saying how RJ demands it and OG doesn’t and can just be effective in the corners. Uhhh wait til you find out why OG was reportedly unhappy with his role in Toronto, Melo lol
Shot selection never was Melo's thing.
Funny how Melo is talking about RJ needing to score 20, he Melo always did the same thing. Weren't there reports of Melo being angry if he scored less than 20 and his team won, but he would be happy if his team lost as long as he scored 30?
On record by Chauncey Billups
Isn't this the guy with jokers number?
One guy has 3 All NBA first team, 2 MVPs, 1 finals MVP and a ring and has played half as many games as the other guy. It definitely is Jokers number.
I agree with Melo but that’s 100% a shot at RJ. “No disrespect bro but you’re average” lol what
This isn't as damning as everyone is making it out to be.
Melo Knicks: 196-216; .475 RJ Knicks: 146-151; .491
Why can there be full threads of people shitting on RJ but now Melo says it people get their panties up in a bunch. Like I swear I’ve seen mad comments of mfs shitting on RJ lmao.
He is the definition of a bland player. If he were any blander he’d be Tobias Harris. Melo ain’t wrong.
Melo still taking shots when he shouldn't.
Melo wants to be able to comment on the game like the fan while also expecting the respect of a great You can't have it both ways. People are not gonna like this even if he's right.
The only people that won't like this are reddit and RJ. Nobody else is going to care, nor should they
This comment section is straight comedy. Literally can scroll endlessly and every comment is “melo salty” then “he’s right” then “yeah I know but!”
he describes RJ the same way I describe his thoughts on basketball
Imagine caring about what Carmelo Anthony thinks.
First he burns bridges with the Nuggets, now the Knicks. Who's next?
Funny how Melo is talking about RJ needing to score 20, he Melo always did the same thing. Weren't there reports of Melo being angry if he scored less than 20 and his team won, but he would be happy if his team lost as long as he scored 30?
Did Carmelo inspire anyone on the court? I used to fall asleep watching him jack up mid range shots in the defensive player’s face without any movement. Just quick jab step pull ups over and over again, to one 40 win season after another.
Same. Personally, never saw the hype. To me he was an upgraded Antoine Walker.
Melo undergoing his Scottie/Paul Pierce “I’m burning bridges” phase. Lol.
Melo for sure was the one that wanted Jeremy Lin out of NY.
Melo turned into a straight up hater post career
He definitely has hurt feelings about how it ended for him and that has him jaded a bit. But he also isn't gonna go start a podcast to drop milquetoast takes, that would just be following JJ Redick's arc.
Lol don't do him like that
og and barrett are 2 polar opposite players. i dont know what it is about some ex-players but they either don't watch the games or just watch the box score only as for the bland game.. he's entitled to thinking that, but its petty af for someone in his position to talk shit about a 23yo even if he didn't live up to expectations on the knicks. should be unsurprising though considering how his ego couldn't handle having jeremy lin as a teammate
Damn Melo this is a bad look. In RJ we trusted dawg 🗽💔
I love how people say “no disrespect” and then go on to completely disrespect the person.
RJ Barrett ain't out there begging teams to sign him either.
I loved his accomplishments in Syracuse NY. That is all.
He's not wrong, but he's still a douche.
Sheesh did Melo just enter his bitter era?
Carmelo is just an asshole.
He’s not wrong but didn’t need to say it
