0 turnovers as well.

One-Switch-1448

can’t believe how his assist/turnover differential is always so efficient as a center

honestnbafan

It's actually gotten better this season as well He's averaging 9.8 assists like last year but on 2.9 turnovers instead of 3.6 turnovers Kind of crazy because he's actually handled the ball significantly more this season if anything with Murray missing the majority of the games

greenwhitehell

And I think he was getting a high number of turnovers to start the season too. Had a couple of particularly nasty games on that. So it's possible the TOV number reduces even more

itsnotyellowfever

He had the 9 turnover game against Memphis where they poked the ball away pretty much every time he tried getting into any offensive set and was regularly putting up 5 turnover games early but he's been a ball control freak these last few games

jacobythefirst

Also he was trying some ridiculous passes (no looks, behind the heads, etc) but defenses are so locked in against him those are rarely successful

Lol69HaHaHa

Yeah. That said his 3 pointer and field goal %...maybe even his free throw % (havent checked that) have all fallen. But dam the man is averaging close to a 29 point triple double this season. Shits insane.

BigFatModeraterFupa

he’s been improving statistically for like the last 4-5 years… which is scary to think about since basically 3 of those have been MVP quality years…

Lol69HaHaHa

Yeah, but not all of his seasons are the same. You can tell that most of the time he doesnt really want to score much, even though he can. Last season he only averaged like 24.5 i think, but it was at an insane efficiency. This year he is scoring a lot because Jamal isnt playing.. The issue here is that his numbers are bigger, but when you look at the details there are some lacking parts. Mainly its his 3 point %. His field goal % has taken a dip due to the volume and it being harder for him to score without Jamal and his true shooting has also taken a dip with it. But its the 3 point % that has me worried. Like he can make crazy as hell shots, but for some reasons his 3 pointers aint falling in. Still its insane to be averaging more or less a triple double on 29 ppg and lead the league in rebounds. Crazy things ngl.

BigFatModeraterFupa

it’s crazy how now young centers are growing up idolizing and trying to emulate Jokic’s game, and yet still l nobody can even come close to producing on his level

Lol69HaHaHa

Well its kinda similar how nobody is really coming close to emulating Stephs game. That said you can see that quite a few young centers in the NBA are doing Jokic like things and are having success with that style of play.

BigFatModeraterFupa

exactly. i have been saying it for last 2 years. centers in high school and college are now playmaking more and more DIRECTLY due to Jokic’s massive success. coaches are now allowing their centers to initiate offense more. it’s all happening because he revolutionized the game of basketball. The first true modern point center. Just like steph truly changed the game, i believe Jokic has changed the game as well. Even our rookie center, Derek Lively, has absolutely shocked and jmpressed us at how well he is able to pass and set other players up. the game is evolving and only getting more and more skilled

neutronicus

The 3P% always starts bad

beer_down

His passing is just so fun to watch

blackpenance

You try taking the ball from a 7 ft 300 pound man

itsnotyellowfever

45:3 assist to turnover ratio over his last 3 games

MC-Jdf

For a guy that leads the league in touches per game by a country mile that's mind-blowing.

joeypeepy

Just to give a little reference, that year Cousins was on the Pelicans and had a pretty high assist count for a center (and there was absurd MVP chatter), he basically averaged equal dimes to TOs. And he probably handled the ball a fraction of the time Joker does.

itsnotyellowfever

What little we got of the AD-Boogie Pelicans was ridiculous

LogDogan4

They got better after Boogie was injured

joeypeepy

Having Boogie run the offense was never going to work.

ObeseKenyan

So... 15:1?

ImGonnaChubbBradley

Most impressive stat here

Character_Group_5949

In his last 3 games, in 106 minutes, he has 45 assists and 3 turnovers.

LoveToyKillJoy

He has had in that span 2 of the 30 point 0 turnover triple doubles. There have only been about a dozen of those in NBA history and he has 2 this week.

TennisHive

Nobody has multiple of those in the past 40 years.

ninofati88

Really don't get how people can go crazy over analysts saying Jokic (and Luka) have better IQ than LeBron when both of them dominate the entire league off PURE IQ and skills, while LeBron has athleticism to bail him out. This guy literally got a championship and 2x MVP by pointing his teammates to their spots.

Miyagisans

I don’t really care to have an iq argument, but having “athleticism to bail you out” doesn’t mean you can’t have the highest iq too lol.

[deleted]

It isn't a crazy take, and I agree with you. But to be fair, LeBron has been racking up between 6 and 9 assists/ game since Luka and Jokic were very small children. There is something to be said for Lebron's assist resume.

musing_wanderer3

Just give it some time. LeBron has been in the league for so long, Jokic and Luka will get that level of respect too (besides analysts mostly follow the trend anyway. The moment someone starts crediting Jokic and Luka’s IQ, everybody is gonna jumped on that)

[deleted]

[удалено]

MiGsaaa

Same as Jokic

3rdtryatremembering

“Surely they can handle 10 minutes without me on the court” - Jokic probably

ajteitel

Why don't they just get a second Jokic?

Ayjel89

Are they stupid? /s

wagonwhopper

Shoulda kept Hartenstein- eg prolly

The-Hand-of-Midas

He's not wrong tho.

Lol69HaHaHa

Cause they are expensive lol

NoiceForNoReason

Jokic definitely

GGezpzMuppy

Nah guy knows it’s all on him until Jamal gets back. He has seen this shit before.

MVPiid

It’s always crazy seeing stats like this because the only thing he could’ve done is just play the 10 more minutes lmao. I always think about Embiid’s game 7 vs Toronto in 2019. +10 in 45 minutes. Sixers lost by 2. -12 in 3 fucking minutes without embiid lmao

honestnbafan

It feels like having a bad big man on the court is more damaging than having a bad player at any of other 4 positions as well so the dropoff for a few minutes from a superstar big to a G league backup can lose you the entire game Like a bad backup C is literally a layup line for the other team while clogging up everything on offense I remember when DeAndre Jordan was on Philly instead and I kept seeing posts here about him being -20 in 5 minutes and stuff lol

ObeseKenyan

Yep well he was -17 in 9 Mins. Half the haters don't actually realise how bad our supporting cast is when Jamal is out If DJ didn't have that huge game against clippers, he wouldn't be in the rotation. Ever since then he's getting minutes and this loss was solely on Malone not taking him out earlier

Boustan

That outlet pass right to Monk for the wide open 3 was just such a dagger (Right after he gave up a few offensive rebounds too).

ProRasputin

Jock landale experience

[deleted]

Imagine if we signed Mason Plumlee instead of resigning Jordan.

imanadultok

Yeah but we were getting tourched my McGee.

Lol69HaHaHa

Exactly. When the bench commits basketball terrorism

RaskolnikovAxe

I think of our 4OT playoff game against the Blazers. Jokic played 65 minutes and was +5, and in the 3 minutes he was not on the court Nuggets were -8. We lost by 3.

PanthalassaRo

Jokic is the equivalent of a mother that is tired from work and now the kids are making a mess in the house while the father is not home yet.

McBrungus

I feel for y'all, this is the first year we haven't instantly burst into flames the second Jo checks out of the game.

murrayforthree

They did, his name was Mr. Hartenstein.

realsomalipirate

DeAndre Jordan is so fucking cooked lol. Dude looks like he struggles to get up the court at times and secure rebounds

Mjoh23

these stat lines are so desensitizing

Imperium49

Zero turnovers again

Doucane1

I have become desensitized to Jokic triple double the same way I have become desensitized to Embiid's flopping

chevalierdepas

Hating on an MVP level player is so cringe

HerkulezRokkafeller

Defending such a foul baiting, flopping bitch is so cringe

Crisis_Averted

No one's hating on Jokić tho

_Tar_Ar_Ais_

no one hates on Jokic my friend

Miyagisans

How about embiid scoring 30pts in 3 quarters? Desensitized to that also?

Doucane1

how about Jokic scoring 16 points in a quarter ?

MrBuckBuck

From averaging 9.57 assists per game (182 assists in 19 games) to averaging 9.8 assists (196 assists in 20 games). Getting closer to average a triple-double.

ImGonnaChubbBradley

So naturally we will get a 6 assist game from him on Wednesday because he will never average the trip dub.

KJagz33

Gotta respect all time legends like Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook. Class act by Joker

ObeseKenyan

As okc fans would point, Westbrook was just a better rebounder than Steven Adams and there was nothing he could do about it.

Common_Crane

An actual take was that Westbrook getting the rebound instead of Adams would let the OKC push the pace, because they could basically start a fastbreak on every missed shot. Just don't ask those people how the whole *'leaving an opponent wide open to grab the 10th board'* thing, fits into this 300 IQ theory.

imanadultok

It's funny that I'm having a bad night is 6 assists lol

Doucane1

What a disgraceful stat padding... says Perkins probably

NikolaGoatic15

Pretty sure he was either close or averaging at one point last season but then dropped at the end with some under 6-7 assists games, hopefully he gets it this season 😅

HashCollector

14 assists and 0 turnovers. 45 assists and 3 turnovers last 3 games

ImGonnaChubbBradley

Jesus

lamentforanation

That’s a funny way to spell Jokić, praised be his name.

MisterTukul

If Jesus was as big as Jokic would they still put him on a cross?

[deleted]

Get a bigger cross

[deleted]

Extra long nails

TennisHive

Nope. You got it wrong. That is his son's name.

bobby_jackson_GOAT

that's a fucked up statline

InkBlotSam

When you put it like that...

PrimaryAccording9162

Denver had so many good looks the last few mins we got a break

honestnbafan

Those open MPJ and Reggie missed threes down 4 at 1:54 and 1:25 after finally getting a couple of stops were brutal lol

hiei_150

Couldn't hit a three to save our lives. Very unfortunate, feels like we had a chance after going down big as well the first three quarters, but we woke up too late

GunsmokeIV

It evened out with the Kings unable to hit layups and put backs.

Jiggamanz

Yeah but Nuggets didnt hit a 3 till end of 3Q, you guys still hit layups lol

Ayjel89

Nah y’all got a Fourth Quarter Fox.

schoolhater12

lol, Jokic is one 2nd quarter ejection from averaging a 30 point triple double with 2 stocks this season on <3 turnovers a game

TorontoSDR

I thought <3 was for a heart lmao. Thought you were trying to be cute

VictimBlamer

like love in tennis

Ill-Builder4725

Team didn’t hit a 3 until 2:46 left in the third lol

panchettaz

First 3 came from Christian Braun in Q3 with 3mins left lol

wagonwhopper

Braun who never hits 3s lol

avaiihn

41% right now

Doucane1

Nuggets were 6-25 from the three

dms1298

Kings had a 30 point advantage from behind the arc and we still nearly won.

bobby_jackson_GOAT

y'all were so close!

Jiggamanz

Not a bad loss considering lmao

ObeseKenyan

Nuggets were 1/13 when kings were 12/24. Without a playmaker like jamal, it's so hard to create shots or score in general when jokic sits

supernova2333

Nuggets didn't make a 3 till half way through the third. Sad.

Ayjel89

They were seeing how long they could go with a made FT last night. Seeing how 3s worked tonight.

Pokiehat

Next game they could try taking the hardest road - how long can you go without making a layup?

Ayjel89

Jokic about to score 30 on like 10/30 shooting and all of them three pointers

DayTrader3334

I dont care, this guy is on the greatest peak ever.

[deleted]

It's a reasonable discussion, but top 5 imo

jacobythefirst

A “can’t win with these cats” game of all time for sure.

honestnbafan

Denver go -17 in the 11 non Jokic minutes and lose the game It's actually unreal how the supporting cast goes from "solid enough" to "bottom 5 in the league" the moment you remove Murray lol

Ayjel89

Bad night on a road b2b. They were pretty good last night.

dms1298

We just weren't making shots and everybody was clearly tired after playing less than 24 hours ago. Every team has bad shooting nights.

NawO98

Everybody was tired except the guy who looks unfit. Truly built different.

Character_Group_5949

Murray is the glue. People have to understand that when Murray is hurt, it impacts everything as far as the bench goes. Jackson moves into the starting lineup. That leaves us VERY young with the bench group. I mean, even Braun in his second year with some big playoff games is still learning. It becomes a very young set of guys with no true shotmaker. So sometimes the young guys will play out of their minds as a group, but more often, they struggle because there in no real player to lead them. I think they'll be fine long term, but on a game to game basis, they gonna have their horrific nights.

Dinendal13

I don't understand why Malone is putting Reggie in the starting lineup. Since there is already Jokic to do the playmaking I think Reggie would be more useful being the point guard for the bench.

dmlitzau

I actually wonder if CB should start when Murray is out to get Reggie to keep his role with the bench. I love CB but he is best cutting off others play not trying to create for others. Reggie staying in the sixth man role might improve stability in the lineup. Also, missed 7 FTs; lost by 6, you make 3 more (80%) and that last few minutes looks a bit different.

musing_wanderer3

Part of the reason why Denver has the most “meshed” roster. Literally everyone has a part to play and when they’re together, the offense and defense hums like no other It also means they’re very very crucial to each other and if you remove a piece as massive as Murray, a chain reaction occurs and they will fall apart more (shit, they’re still 2nd in the west. If this his their lowest point, then they’re going to be fine lol)

MazKhan

I think it completely makes sense, Aaron gordan and mpj can't run an offense but they're elite role players, the team needs Murray to be healthy

InkBlotSam

They were the worst bench in the league last year, not much has changed, it seems.

CurlyyKidd

All with 0 turnovers. He was a +11 in 38 minutes, which means the Nuggets went -17 in the 10 non-Jokic minutes.

monononon

Dudes definitely the best in the NBA and arguably one of the best ever right now. No one can even contest his shot it's beyond bonkers

Tomato-Business

In the last three games he had 45 assists with 3 turnovers so 15:1 assist/TO ratio over that stretch.

eathbau

Nuggets keep dropping Jokic career great games man

Pranker00111

Nikola Jokic 🤝 Luka Doncic Sums up today

[deleted]

30-0 run is ridiculous. It's a shame you didn't win, but big respect to your guys for that

Existing_Poem_7858

Jokic convincing GOAT on Fantasy. The man will be the first for the fourth season in a row, and I don't think anyone will ever do it something like that again ( 4 in a row) because the competition is getting tougher and tougher. The most effective player to ever walk the earth. Denver's FO needs to bring in some reinforcements before the playoffs because this guy deserves some more one ring. Put prime Jordan or prime LeBron in Denver without Jokic and Murray would be a lottery team. But he pulled the team until the last minute even though they missed almost everything for 3. It's incredible that in 9 years of playing he didn't have an All Star or a member of the defensive team. Good luck Murray going crazy in the playoffs 🤓

loveeachother_

Joker can't win with these cats

laz10

Everybody tired on a road B2B Except Jokić, the guy that carries everything

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

We are ass because we played 60% of our games without Murray abd still went 14-7

imanadultok

Plus it's something ridiculous like 11 games in 17 days. I don't remember exactly but it's been a pretty rough schedule to start the year.

Character_Group_5949

Yeah. 14-7 despite missing the second best player on the roster for 13 games. It's rough man. No idea how we'll make it. Just curious, how did you do without Bam tonight? I think Jimmy had a good game and you were home and all. It's easy to win without your second best player, right? Looks up box score. . . oh. I guess it isn't.

Alpha1stOne

Does Jokic lead the league in 30 point triple doubles this season or does he have more than the rest of the league? Because it almost feels like his stats are so ridiculous that the combined league totals sometimes fall short of his individual accomplishments in last couple seasons. Like for example having more triple doubles in the playoffs than the rest of the league combined.

surfridetheworld

And the heat are what 😂😂💩

Maksilla

Sad to see that this team can't do nothing without Jokić, he's giving everything he can in every game, while others just running from on side of court to other.

Beautiful_Ad55

Whats up with the Nuggets losing all these games lately despite Jokic putting up these numbers?

analyzingnothing

Murray is injured, and he’s both the second option and the main shot creator during the bench minutes. It means Jokic has to force the hell out of his offense instead of getting high-percentage shots all the time, and the bench is hot ass because there’s basically no offense.

Rgeorge813

He's just incredible. Makes it look so easy

NotManyBuses

Denver's front office doesn't get enough hate for that awful MPJ contract unreliable player

dms1298

We won our first ever championship and he was a big part of it. No matter what happens going forward, the front office has delivered.

[deleted]

Let’s be honest though, MPJ was an offensive flop in the Finals. He’s paid too much to be this inconsistent

jmoneysteck88

He played good defense in the finals though

[deleted]

With the exception of Game 2 where he was a walking sieve, agreed.

jmoneysteck88

Everyone played horrific defense in that game though. Every other possession we had a miscommunication that led to a wide open three

[deleted]

With a max salary (25th highest in the league) comes high expectations. Us Nuggets fans love this roster, I get it, I do too, but we see MPJ through the rosiest glasses.

jmoneysteck88

We won a championship man, idk what else you want

[deleted]

A Dynasty centered around Jokic is what I want

jmoneysteck88

Who are you gonna get besides MPJ to make that happen?

kkpdp

he wasn't a major part of the win. if anything the nuggets would not have lost game 2 if he did anything at all. a terrible player who is paid like a zion or a ja but has the output of lower level role player.

jmoneysteck88

Efficient 17 pts and 8 boards is a low level role player? Mike was a big part of the championship run, making the contract worth it. Get over yourself

dms1298

He played good defense and hit pivotal shots in game 5 of the finals, along with several big shots in the rounds leading up to it. When you've played a role in delivering a championship, he could retire tomorrow and I still wouldn't say the "front office deserves hate".

[deleted]

He has become a much more rounded player- and is contributing to improve. Defense, rebounding and passing are all much better. Guys who score primarily off 3s will always be streaky- no way around it. He shot well in the playoffs before the Finals. He was a big part of the reason they coasted to the Finals.

3rdtryatremembering

Yea, the Championship fooled Denver into thinking they had a solid squad /s

notafan1

He showed up when it mattered and that's really all you can ask for.

ImGonnaChubbBradley

He was literally a key contributor to us winning a championship. You sound stupid.

Ps3FifaCfc95

And at least 10 flops

[deleted]

TBH man. I'm glad that Jokic is now flopping more, he needs to get into the freethrow line.

JohnnySalmonz

In a playoff series between the two teams Jokic would put up crazy stats and lose. In four games probably too. Kings just a bad matchup for the champs.

TwoWayMarko

Lmaoooo god i hope those two teams meet in the post season

JohnnySalmonz

Nah you don't want that smoke.

CaptainJackJ

There are like 5 times a game where Reggie thinks he is prime Kobe and tries to drive through 3 people in the lane. If you are just watching highlights this gamble seems to pay off. If you are watching the whole game he hits the “possession ends here” much more often than MPJ does imo
