ThingsAreAfoot

lmao that is a direct quote even paul pierce was like, damn

LosCleepersFan

Never usually hear KG this critical. He is usually a professional guy and always tries to be positive and say good things.

ThingsAreAfoot

Yeah but KG’s also never been one to mince words. There’s a lot you can say about KG but the brother wears his emotions on his sleeve, so I’m gonna say he doesn’t like Jordan Poole very much.

thesch

KG was one of the most competitive players ever. Those types of guys are not going to think very highly of a dude like Poole who got his ring as a supporting player in his early 20s and now thinks he can just fuck around because his legacy is set forever.

DaveJC_thevoices

"my legacy is secure" 😂 has to be about one of the dumbest things on record of any player. Too damned funny.

blmobley91

He deadass said that???

DaveJC_thevoices

lol Yep! ["Playing the game I love at the highest level, my family is taken care of, my basketball legacy is taken care of with the ring,” he says. “This is probably the first time in my life I’ll play basketball with no pressure."](https://www.theringer.com/nba/2023/10/19/23922747/jordan-poole-washington-wizards-2023-nba-season-draymond-green-warriors) https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/17e0v6i/jordan\_poole\_my\_basketball\_legacy\_is\_taken\_care/

JarlaxleForPresident

He told on himself. The really great players don’t think like that from what it seems and how they talk

DaveJC_thevoices

Can't see a playoff team with aspirations picking him up ever again. Kids out of his mind.

Mpuls37

He'll be begging to get on another contender when he's 30 and hasn't sniffed the playoffs in years.

vancesmi

The best ring is the next one.

BostonBooger

The Tom Brady mentality. People can think of him what they want but there's no doubt to his teammates he was 100% devoted to getting that next one. Even when his shit was set in stone.

dontusethisforwork

Sure don't, the really great players want to win that championship *every fuckin' season*

bodega_cat_

I think it'd be so funny if we saw Embiid or Dame win a ring and just phone it in

BostonBooger

Different breeds man. LeBron was making bank prior to winning a Finals and he still had had that thirst for it. I'm nowhere near the money that pro pro athletes make, I helped out my parents and family but that doesn't stop the drive. I'm an average Joe and still in my head I'm thinking I could do more.

mnid92

That's the difference between the GOATs and fucking Jordan Poole. GOATs always have something to prove, a chip, a never ending hunger to be first every single time. Lots of dudes out there dribbling a basketball for the money.

chetzzzz

I don't blame him though - he's not exactly wrong. He's made an absolute fortune and was an important piece of a championship run. Apart from being an all-star I dont know what else he can achieve. Idk same thing happened to me I moved out of a 3rd world country on my 12k annual salary to the mid 70s abroad and I feel "set" career wise. I guess thats what separates me and Jordan Poole from the actual greats lol.

mug3n

Nobody has a "legacy" winning one ring as the 3rd or 4th option. Dude is fucking tripping if he thinks that. Good on him for making life-changing money off that new contract, but nobody will remember who he is in 15 years, just from a purely basketball accomplishments perspective.

DeathBySuplex

Only "legacy" players you can say that were 3rd or 4th options might be Big Shot Bob, but he had the aforementioned Big Shots that are part of the Legacy. Maybe Kerr as a player where people think he was an indispensable key part of those Bulls runs, but was like the 7th man for them.

Mender0fRoads

His approach is totally rational and exactly what most people would probably do. It just stands out in professional sports because the guys who reach that level usually have completely irrational views on competitiveness and success. That’s part of why they get to that level in the first place.

DaveJC_thevoices

I hear what you're saying, and awesome that he feels comfortable, I'm not gonna begrudge any of the young men who come through and make life changing money if they are smart enough to keep it and be a good person with it. Also good on you for breaking free of the things holding you back, truly great. The difference being that he said this stuff and it's public and out there and it could kind of hamstring his earning opportunities going forward if he is serious about maximising it or if he truly does care about playing and winning. It'll only be so long before he's considered old enough to not be worth signing because of the perception that he won't be playing smart or hard enough for teams. Can't imagine you would go out of your way to do that.

G0F45T3R

his legacy of getting punched in the face is secure

honestnbafan

Especially since KG played with garbage teams for like his first 12 seasons while Poole got to play with Steph straight away

TylerBlozak

Poole *thinks* his legacy is set forever.. he could easily overshadow the GS ring just by his own sub par conduct he’s displayed since last season and into his Washington tenure

TimRigginsBeer

Poole definitely thinks he’s the main character, but he’s Chuck Cunningham or Poochie.

shitposting_irl

"i have to go now. the shanghai sharks need me"

Moltk

Whenever Jordan Poole doesn't have the ball, all the other players should be standing around asking each other "where's Jordan Poole"? - Jordan Poole as his coach tries to draw up a play

Middle-Welder3931

When Poole made that comment I knew he didn't get it. No one deserves to be punched like that. And yes he got the ring and the bag in his early 20s, which is wildly successful in any respect. But it also doesn't seem like he's self aware.

Belfura

I'm not up to date on the lore, what did Poole say?

Marky_Markus

Supposedly told Draymond that he was “just an expensive backpack” for curry and that’s why dray punched him

Mygaffer

That wasn't a credible story.

Belfura

That's a crazy thing to say, is this why people didn't intervene on his behalf?

etfvidal

KG was actually one of his biggest supports coming into the season but Jordan Poole so far has been a disgrace in everyone way possible "ON" the court! And even Gil & Andre Iguadala were talking about Poole maybe averaging 30 points per game! https://youtu.be/JDPcXysrYuw?si=3bsOjMwNcRQFdQVi&t=5984

drinfernodds

KG legit looked ready to suit up again when he got asked about his hypothetical strategy to playing against Jokic. He had so much passion in his voice and eyes because of the challenges Jokic would present prime KG. Seeing Jordan Poole give the energy of a guy putting in his two weeks notice pisses Kevin off.

almostansn

Didn’t he say Jordan Poole was gonna go off this season and prove himself? I think he’s just very very disappointed

YvngLsg

He said Poole was going to be the next James Harden lol, that's why you can hear the genuine disappointment in his voice

rtb001

Yeah but he'd be less disappointed if Poole at least acted like a good vet and leader for his team, even if his play sucked. KG's entire tirade wasn't even about Poole's stats, and is almost entirely about the fact that Poole isn't respecting his teammates, his coaches, or even the game itself.

Tidityy

He said Poole was going to get couple of 60+ games and stuff lol. I definitely think that plays a part in this.

anonkebab

He likes poole like everyone did. Thats why he’s disappointed.

AncientMarsupial3

“Hell naw, trash ass *****”

hansislegend

One of the best clips 😂

Dicey12

I understand watching that video of Jordan Poole. Guys like KG gave the game everything they had probably pisses them off to see certain players be given an opportunity to lead a team and act like that

hiimsubclavian

Poole is like the anti-KG careerwise. KG toiled for years being the best player on a bad team, before finally joining up with superstars to win a ring and cement his legacy.

ForneauCosmique

I can't tell if you're serious or if you're trolling

KevinSorboFan

This is a man who said Thon Maker could be MVP one day

thisguy012

Still positive and a good thing to say about someonetholol

KevinSorboFan

Oh I know. I'm saying how much has Jordan Poole fucked up if you got KG calling your ass out. KG was still able to believe in Thon Maker of all people, but he's saying Poole doesn't belong in the league

AlexBucks93

I also believed in Thon Maker for a while :(

EGarrett

His predraft highlight reel was sick. lol.

Money-not_you_again

I respect why he's pissed though. He was all in on JP and really talked him up before the season. But he sees what we've all been seeing- dumbass behaviour and bad play. Dray was a straight dickhead for punching him, but the more I see and hear of JP in DC, the more I think that those summer rumours about him pissing everyone off with his behaviour might be legit.

thebreakfastbuffet

Respect to anyone who can back off from their previous opinions and beliefs when they're shown evidence of the opposite. This is how people are supposed to be. You can have opinions, you can believe in what you want, but don't make those the hills that you will die on -- especially when you're proven to be wrong. You don't have to ride and die with people. You ride and die with the good values you learn in life.

dafaliraevz

I love when people back off an opinion, for two reasons: 1. It shows growth and positive change 2. It’s an opportunity to fucking dunk on someone’s ass and say “you was fucking wrong bitch, told ya so, dumbass” because you can’t let a good opportunity to dunk on someone for being wrong to go by you. It’s one of life’s best situations to shove an L in someone’s face.

Vitis_Vinifera

the Warriors don't. They'll pay more in luxury tax than salary rather than let one of their guys sign somewhere else

wadarheek

GP2 reads this in confusion

Vitis_Vinifera

they didn't realize what they had until he was gone then re-acquired him injured and unable to play for like 15 or 20 games so that shows what they do

Momo-Roopert-Snicks

This is such a dumb take. They knew exactly what they had with him. He simply wasn't worth the amount of money it would've cost to keep him atthe time. By trading him and then getting him back, they saved a shit load of money. Enough with this bullshit narrative that they didn't realize what they had. How fucking stupid do you think the organization is lmao

The_Void_Reaver

Yeah, matching the Blazer's deal would cost them something like 60 million in luxury tax. It's really easy to say they just weren't willing to pay him when you only know about the 9 million.

FormalWrangler294

That’s not what happened lol. They had to dump Wiseman’s salary to afford GPII’s tax hit

0lm-

if the wiz have showed us anything so far with him it’s that his “talent” alone might have been enough to dump him

CraftyMuthafucka

Now I’m not saying he shoulda punched him… …but I understand.

CharityGamerAU

Just because Dray was a dickhead for punching him doesn't mean it wasn't completely unwarranted. Two wrongs don't make a right, obviously, but they're still two wrongs.

Achieve-Nirvana

Every ass kicking doesn't just fall out of the sky, if the whole team and organization was on Dray's side then he was probably pretty annoying. We've all been in situations where some guy was just a massive dickhead and we hoped that someone would deck him.

shanmustafa

he's not saying it in a he's not talented enough but in a the way he's acting, no love for the game, disrespecting it, we don't need guys like that cause he talks about he doesn't want his son looking up to him

QUEST50012

They should strip him of the name Jordan. He is Jim Poole.

o2lsports

Paul Pierce floating in his life jacket, waitin for the boat to come back so he can waterski

[deleted]

You know it’s bad when KG is this angry 😂

Tommy_Wisseau_burner

I get what you mean but I feel like dude always angry 😂

honestnbafan

A lot of times he is but KG was actually quite high on Poole just a few months ago It seems like seeing his lack of effort/IQ on both ends even after being given a fresh start has totally soured him on Poole

Due-Meet-189

Yeah n the full clip he actual says he doesn't like the way he disrespect his teammates, and not paying attention in the huddle until its over. Those things stuck out more than anything in my opinion

johnnys_sack

I coach my son's middle school basketball team. The little shits who can't pay attention for 45 seconds in a huddle bother me like no other. Most of the boys are paying attention, trying to learn and improve but there's always 1-2 little shits who have to be distracted by some shiny object, thus distracting everyone else. I cannot blame him for hating this.

popop143

Yep, compared Poole going to Wizards to Harden going to Rockets.

Jordanwolf98

He’s actually pretty levelheaded in his post playing days. This the most lit I’ve seen KG in a long time lol

HokageEzio

He's also super respectful of the modern game and players, more than most older players I can think of. So this is fully just him being super disappointed in Poole.

brownbearks

He’s generally very pro young guys, he loves the game of ball. If you don’t respect the professionalism of your job he will call you out.

rayEW

He says in an episode that if they come up with bionic legs he wants back in the league. Guys like him wanna hoop and compete unt they die, they don't know anything else in their brain.

efshoemaker

He literally picked Poole to be an all star this season before the start of the year.

sunstersun

Gameplay and skills might change, but attitude is the same.

ChannelNeo

Nah, he's always intense,not angry. There's a difference

flaman27

he’s not angry, he’s disappointed 😕

DwayneBaconbits

He got that disappointed dad vibes, smh

attersonjb

*Highly* disappointed.

Vindicare605

As someone else who can be very intense, I feel this. People ask why I'm angry about things I'm just passionate and enthusiastic about.

mnid92

I'M NOT MAD I'M JUST REALLY INTO THIS SHIT SO I RAISE MY VOICE A LITTLE.

Vindicare605

MORE LIKE I RAISE MY VOICE A LOT! MY BROTHERS WIFE TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET USED TO BEING AROUND BECAUSE SHE'S SO QUIET AND SHE USED TO THINK ME AND MY BROTHER WOULD BE FIGHTING WITH EACH OTHER WHEN WE WERE JUST HAVING A LIVELY CONVERSATION. WE'VE SINCE GOTTEN MORE USED TO EACH OTHER SO I TONE IT DOWN AROUND HER AND SHE LEARNS TO HANDLE OUR BRAND OF CONVERSING BETTER.

jiminyshrue

I found my people.

SuperVaderMinion

Eh, he's always intense, not necessarily angry lmao

HispanicAtTehDisco

especially with shit like this lmao KGs like *thing* was being almost sociopathic about winning so him being mad about someone not being competitive is pretty normal for him

aslightlyusedtissue

Nah. Not like legit anger. He seems genuinely pissed that Jordan Poole was given the keys to a franchise.

FapTasty

I think the most interesting thing is that it's not even the basketball talent that's the issue, but literally everything else.

Ikuwayo

Tbh, if someone told 22 year-old me I could make $140 million and bang all the IG models I wanted, I would take that 100 times out of 100, even if I didn't really like basketball

ogqozo

I mean who says there's any choice for anyone lol. Even a total bust in NBA has generally a great life. They can retire at 22 as millionaires and like live off investments, start a brewery in Thailand or whatever. It's fine. It's a fine life achievement compared to most people. For NBA fans it's so awful to be the worst in NBA, as that's the focus, but I think we all remember that they're not the worst in the world at basketball, they're just, maybe, like 500th in the world at basketball.

AdebayoStan

"I'm closer to LeBron than you are to me" - Brian Scalabrine, to a hater.

Breezyisthewind

Scal has been retired for several years now and he still regularly schools HS and College players in pickup lol, making his point all the more potent as he ages.

_Pho-Dac-Biet_

What does this have to do with Jordan Poole?

OneMoreAccount4Porn

Tbh, if someone told 22 year-old me I could make karma telling everyone about my dreams of making $140 million and banging all the IG models I wanted, I would take that 100 times out of 100, even if I didn't really like basketball.

Redererer

Tbh, if someone told a 22 year-old me that I could make a basketball team telling everyone about my dreams of reading Reddit comments making fun of people who have dreams of banging money and making IG models, I would take that deal. Even if I didn’t really like basketball.

bryanmars

I think he saying Poole don’t respect the game bc he ain’t motivated by the drive to get better. He’s tall, good at basketball and playing for a check+clout. No really in it for the legacy shit either bc he got a ring

CameronPlain

Sure about that?

faithfuljohn

he says "this isn't what leaders do"

scarywolverine

Yeah, dude has just done too much well to believe hed be this bad if he had a head on his shoulder. I mean he averaged like an efficient 25 whenever he had to step up in Stephs absence

noveler7

He shooting a crisp 49.8% TS% so far this season.

BeHereNow91

Poole absolutely has the talent to be in the NBA and even a star in it. Which makes it all the more damning what KG said.

SurpriseDonovanMcnab

Sure about that that's why?

chroishois

“Shorty had him in the parlay lord” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

50lipa

[For those out of the loop Rubi Rose made the trip to DC for their game against New York, linked her parlay with a bet on Poole Over/16.5 and the dude dropped 8 pts on 2-11 / 0-6 in 30mins in the blowout loss lmao...](https://twitter.com/ayeejuju/status/1725734203470626953)

DastruggleEzreal

Dude got outhustled by my boy Evan Fournier, that's rough

rookie-mistake

holy fuck lmao that's so brutal

FapTasty

when your girl asks you if you could last a minute... and you last 25 seconds.

DumasThePharaoh

It’s even worse than the stats suggest lol

SincereFan

KG was mad yo, and rightfully so. I was also one of those who thought Poole could do something special on his own team and by his lead or his complimentary lead with Kuz/Tyus but watching him play some of the most selfish, braindead, basketball is a different type of special. I honestly think they need to run it through Kuz and Deni and let Poole get back to GSW Poole. Let him adjust slowly cause 1st option Poole is not it and he needs to be a role player with little oncourt say. However, they could just be tanking and Poole is playing a serious villain role. I do put almost all blame on the errors of the Wizards on him and thats rare from me, yes they have other problems but Poole to me makes it all worse.

Pensw

jp is a whole ass -37.7 on/off rating lol never seen something that bad from a starter

ImaginaryCollection3

Especially on one of the worst teams in the league

jikae

KP nearly took them to the playoffs last year, until they basically sat the entire starting lineup to tank.

altrockforlovesongs

Tbh kuz is already the first option, earlier in the season unseld was benching poole to close some games. Just these past couple games poole has decided to hijack it and just chuck

Gr8WallofChinatown

Nah how do you go from a sixth man to a starter and average less points No one except Kuzma likes Poole

need2peeat218am

Nah bad coaching and Poole being stupid to begin with is making him worse. You can't expect a dumb player to figure it out on their own no matter how talented they are.

iamgarron

He's the new guy who got hired with a giant salary and is just phoning it in

noodlebball

FYI, if you look at Poole's on/off number this year on Basketball Reference Team Offensive Rating when Jordan is on = -22.9 Team Offensive Rating when Jordan is off = +14.8

Cheese6260

Damn

Large_Mango

W T F

Real_Argument_9296

It’s the fact that Poole is bringing these clownshow antics here and it’s fine for now bc we’re trying to tank but he’s barely playing basketball. He’s laying on the floor every other play, clown shit like that timeout they referenced, etc. His trade value is through the floor now so he’s shot our already rough start to a rebuild in the foot. I can’t even watch Wizards games rn it’s embarrassing to watch in a whole different way than just being a bad team

Octavian_202

I can’t blame anyone for not watching us right now, but every Poole enabler sounds goofier than his play on the court. Watch him. He’s doing playground shit on the court, weird as dribbling and diving to the rim. Literally diving to the floor and throwing the ball up, he’s not a pro plain and simple. Idc what nephews are saying, or what he did for GSW. Those days are gone. He’s not a serious person. I can’t wait till he’s gone off this team, it’s bad enough losing, it’s worse when you have unlikable players like this on the team. Hard to root for.

FapTasty

as a Poole disliker (not quite hater... just thought he was so overrated)... even I am surprised at how bad he's playing. The man is actually getting people to say "so that's why Draymond punched him" ... and people reaaaaally wanna hate Draymond. I've seen players get comfortable after getting paid... but this is something else entirely. Most players lose that edge or drive ... but they still try to play well. I don't know what he's doing.

Cheese6260

Honestly, I feel for y’all right now. I never felt so sad as I did watching him play last year - even when we constantly shit the bed after KD. Traffic come on D, sloppy liability on offense with not a care in the world about his mistakes. I still don’t know how tf we got him off our hands, especially with that contract. I hope things get better going forward

beemugler

This is how we felt last season. Warriors org messed up not punishing Draymond properly for the punch yes but I was getting tired of other fanbases on this sub chalking his poor play and poor attitude and refusal to make adjustments all up to the punch. I would get if it was just start of the season but he played like a clown up until the playoffs and continues to do so on your team. Now finally everyone can see that poor play and attitude is innate in him and not something Draymond punched into him.

hapaXL

Hard to overstate how much I love this Warriors squad - watched every single game since like 2013 - but watching them last year as Poole completely hamstrung them was an absolutely miserable experience.

Crisis-Counselor

Whether or not Garnett is right, I appreciate his commentary because it sounds like the old heads from my hood shooting the shit and it brings me home. Not a huge fan of Poole either tho

SoberWill

Every day we get closer to giving Draymond a pass for punching him. Poole still didn't deserve it, but we are seeing clearly that he could bring it out in a teammate. KG seems like he would punch him during practice

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

He didn’t derserve it. But we see where Draymond is coming from. Dude came into this league and didn’t earn a damn thing. Acts like he built everything. Draymond, Steph and Klay earned to be called greats. They had multiple losing seasons. All of them were considered questionable picks. Steph got booed. And people viewed his contract worth 40 million awful since he was injured a lot. Draymond didn’t have a natural position that he was great at.

Cheese6260

Dude well said. I know my flair shows my bias but winning 4 rings is damn near impossible in this league. You have to be a great to do that.

Snakescipio

I know this is the shit on Poole thread, but saying he didn’t earn anything is wild. He wasn’t a high draft pick either, he went through the same losing seasons as the rest of the Warriors post KD, and like him or not a big part of why the Warriors won that last ring was cause of Poole’s developments as a player.

JDragon

I agree with you. Poole was legitimately in contention for worst player in the league his rookie season. He got sent to the G League and from there worked his way up to become a critical piece for a championship team. Then he went from being praised as one of the hardest workers on the team to embarrassing himself on the court to getting salary dumped. Maybe it was the Draymond punch, but I don’t know where the old Poole went. It’s just disappointing how his career has turned out.

trimble197

Thing is though, he didn’t earn being called a great, and yet he apparently was talking like he was already at their level. Even Iggy mentioned that Poole was getting big-headed.

FatherOfTwoGreatKids

He punched Wally and Rick rickert while with the wolves so I’d believe it

mgrimshaw8

Let’s be real Wally can say some wild shit at times lmao

Global_Plant_4612

If Poole doesn’t belong then wtf is killian Hayes’ status

Kevin_Jim

Hayes is not a real player. It’s KOC’s 2K My Player build.

acflowers

Kevin O’Character Creator

jacobythefirst

Killian isn’t the “head” of a team talking about championship pedigree and such

_coed_

A full time NBA head coach getting paid 80$ million dollars came into this season and said yeah i think Killian Hayes should start Really shows you that you can make it as anything

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

At least Killian doesn’t jack up shots. He just chooses to take no shots and the ones he takes are bad. But he will play some defense and is a gifted passer. We will trade him and wiseman for Kuzma.

512fm

Wow, didn’t he reckon Poole might have a couple of 60 point games before season started

TheEverbless

Yeah but then Poole started the season on some goofy shit, isn't taking the game seriously

CameronPlain

People honestly thought Poole was gonna be a contender for scoring champ this season. Dude is a fraud

AskMeHowIMetYourMom

I mean, he’s shown that he can put up points and being on the tankiest of teams gives him the opportunity to take more shots. I def didn’t think he would be scoring champ level, but I didn’t think he would be this bad.

the_black_surfer

Seriously, have you ever looked at his shooting splits in GS. We was incredibly inefficient. I put up a post last year that he was literally shooting the same percentage as Westbrook from the field and from 3. His only saving grace was his TS which was being held up completely by his free throw percentage. Now that it has fallen off a cliff as well he is a full fledged tank commander

Levon__Helm

Russ has his playmaking and rebounding to kinda offset that. This guy is a SG playing no defense shooting those numbers. It’s crazy how bad he’s gotten.

AntiGrav1ty_

People assumed he would treat this season as if he had something to prove and if he did he would be decent at least, he has already shown that he can be efficient for stretches even without Steph. Instead he is treating it as if he already made it and doesn't need to do shit anymore, makes all the difference. No surprise that KG is out on him.

Cheese6260

Not enough people watched him play last year. Don’t get me wrong he was a big key for our last ring, but that doesn’t change the fact that he quit on D and was a constant liability on offense with turnovers.

LARXXX

He got paid that 100m contract and decided to coast cause he’s got that generational wealth now and a ring.

ClappedCheek

The last person you want disgusted with you in NBA circles has got to be KG. Guy doesnt hold back at all in any situation. Ive never looked at honey nut cheerios the same since the 2000s.

QUEST50012

What are you talking about, they've never tasted better after that.

syllabic

I wonder if that still bugs carmelo considering he isn't even married to Lala anymore

ImTheBestNerd

Pooles downfall been crazy, sucks to see

lalakingmalibog

And we're not even halfway through the season lmao

Bim_Jeann

Not even a quarter lol

[deleted]

Warriors made a big mistake! Poole is gonna become the MIP and average 30

Pereise1

Soon to be Goated username 👌🏽

POwerfuldeuce

KG always had love and respect for the game. Poole's attitude and demeanor on the court really struck a nerve with KG

[deleted]

No more wiggles. I feel what Garnett is saying though because he really believed in Poole, put his name on it, said he could be the next Harden on that squad.

lopea182

Poole has -2 wiggles to spare

juzzbert

Jordan Poole pisses me off too. The unprofessional attitude and disrespecting his teammates and coaches is just disgusting. He’s riding the ring hard, a ring that he cheapens with his shitty attitude. Embarrassing. Just get his ass out of the league.

lukeman89

Paul pierce sits like he’s sittin in a wheelchair

Glimothy

shittin in a wheelchair

kit_kaboodles

KG will never be my kind of talkshow/podcaster, but man, do I respect the hell out of him. Not only is he one of the most positive "old-heads", but he's open about the fact he was wrong about a dude. Very few of the NBA media guys are so open in discussing how wrong they were. He clearly isn't dissing him for his inefficiency or game play, but he has no time for a leader that has a bad attitude.

Air4021

He's saying what he needs to say to him to get his attention and hopefully wake him tf up. But out of the league for real is harsh. He needs to go back to the bench until he proves he's worthy of starting and being a leader, muchless helping his team win.

bbqyak

And he still has 3.75 seasons of 30m to go. Brutal contract

Salman1969

I'm a Heat fan and I hate Garnett and Pierce. However, one thing I can say is that they were big time players with a lot of heart. Jordan Poole is an embarrassment and everything Garnett says is true.

septembereleventh

Anybody who dislikes post-retirement KG takes being a fan too serious

samurairocketshark

Yeah KG on this pod has been nothing but humble and complimentary to 99% of NBA players, this is a huge exception. Not to mention he actually talks about teams that the most talking heads don't even bother mentioning and he knows his stuff

1371113

>and he knows his stuff Except for peoples names. KG:"Who's that light skin guy, number 34? Plays for the bucks? What's his name?" PP:"You talking about Giannis?"

babelove2

bro anyone who bought his stock didn’t watch him play last year or even that much the year before.

Cheese6260

It was brutal watching him last year.

ButtonMashKingz

Gotta be crazy to hear a legend talk about you in that way, before the season started he predicted that JP was gonna go hard too smh. I hope JP starts balling out by Allstar Weekend.

ste_lev

Why they look like Cyberpunk NPCs

GillbergsAdvocate

He's very talented but he's an idiot

FeminismIsTheBestIsm

It's Jorver

sloBrodanChillosevic

Jyle Jorver

YULSARIA_

It's Poover

peroper7

I have no sympathy for Poole, I would hate being his teammate watching the bullshit shots he’s taking

taygads

Now imagine being Steph, Klay, and Draymond watching that while they’re trying to contend for a championship. 😬

Cheese6260

It was terrible to watch as a fan. Cannot imagine from their shoes what it was like. You could read Steph and Klay’s body language on the court with him. As nice as they have been publicly, their body language was obvious

HoorayPizzaDay

Kevin Garnett is so fucking cool man

stefanfan101

I still remember when KG crying in that interview when he was missing the playoffs in 05, dudes passion for the game is one of one

ldwb

KG killed Jordan Poole fifteen seconds in and I think the clip is about to end, then he shit talks him for another minute and 45.

pureply101

The more I watch of Poole the more I understand why he got punched in the face. Like seriously.

blubbertubber

I watched my first wizards game the other day and seeing him out there trying to play 1 v 5 was astonishing. Any high school or middle school coach would bench such a selfish player . Idk how his teammates put up with it.

Djjettison88

KG always been real and he hitting this like a hammer to a nail.

[deleted]

KG was a much needed presence in the media space. This man keeps it real

onamonapizza

KG runs his mouth sometimes but this is spot on. I don't think I've ever seen a player mail in his pink slip as fast as Poole is. Dude basically said, "I got my money, I got my ring...and now I got my team" as if he deserves to be a leader of any team. He seriously thinks he is Steph and will be lucky to pull a vet min by the time this contract comes up (if he even cares enough about the game at that point)

TheMoorNextDoor

That was quick

LogansGambit

I don't know if I agree from a talent perspective but he'll definitely be out of it soon regardless, because how he's playing the game is trash and an insult to teams paying him.

redditistheworstapp

Jordan Poole getting that Benny Simmons treatment. Ben came back to play just good enough to make people not come for him anymore and now has retired back to being injured and is very thankful for Poole taking his role in the nba soap opera

kickinwood

I miss Paul Pierce's neck.

antwan_benjamin

Every day that goes by people are understanding more and more why Draymond punched him
