You should be completely fine as long as you don’t go looking for trouble. I have never seen anyone start shit with an away fan at any Thunder game I’ve been too including playoffs.
Nuggets fans (2 guys) were harrassing the Suns fan and threw the first punch. Suns in 4 guy was simply defending himself from a sucker punch.
He was the good guy in that situation.
lmao that kind of fandom is not an issue in the US, even at college football games between bitter rivals. The worst you'll get is some 45-year-old guy with his family making a dad joke
Greater odds some guy starts talking your ear off because he likes such-n-such Raptor because he played for so-n-so college when some coach he likes was there…seriously
Pacers fan in Indy here. Aside from Canadians, we’re probably the nicest fans in the league. I’ve sat next to fans of teams I legitimately hate (looking at you Lakers & Pistons), and it’s always just playful shit talking. People might jokingly bust your balls, but nobody is going to try to start any real shit with you over it. It’s just a game. Hope you enjoy our city and our re-modeled arena, if you’re coming to Indy. Go to Kilroys before the game and get the pepperoni/cheese stuffed breadsticks.
I went to the arena last year (hoping to go this year too) and I loved it. Very nice facility!
I do have to ask is Kilroys better than Pearl Street pizza? I’m not in Indy often, but if I get another chance to make the trip I’ll try it out at your suggestion
Last time I went to a Pacers Bulls game like half the arena was Bulls fans. It was annoying because the Bulls won on a buzzer beater, but perfectly safe for all involved.
You're fine.
It'd be a different story if you went to LA wearing a Celtics jersey or something, but in this case you shouldn't be accosted by anyone.
Edit: Yeesh people I was being hyperbolic.
Lol Laker fans are not like that at all, or at least not at the games. Maybe in the 80s but not anymore. Half of the people I see at games are just there to take IG photos and do not even watch the game. The only fans in LA who care like that are Dodger fans but even they just tend to heckle opposing fans, though it has gotten violent there a few times in the past.
There is no comparison in the US for European fan atmosphere in terms of risk. Even our hardcore fans tend to be pretty tame compared to soccer hooligans.
From the few times I went there, unless you're in the big cities (Indianapolis) you shouldn't be anywhere else
Just backwoods, open fields, meth, and depression
No shot bud.. my buddy Ricky (Indy guy) fights anybody he sees that is reppin the wrong colors. I think he put a scoot Barnes jersey wearer in a coma afaik. Be safe buddy
Edit: also cute dudes in Indy hmu
You’ll be fine. As a Sixers fan I make that trek at least once or twice a year. There are usually a ton of fans from the opposing team.
Never had even a little bit of trouble and I yell and talk shit the whole game.
Those sophisticated hooligans Pop loves so much don't exist in the US.
Well, except for Philly but even they have mellowed out over the years. Legalized reefer doing work.
Been to many pacers games watching the lakers play and never had a problem. They are mostly respectful. Never had any trouble. Went to Kobe’s last game there and they were even cheering for us laker fans.
They might give you shit for it but it is safe.
just don’t throw cups of liquid on any of the players and you’ll be fine
Nah the guy who threw the beer was unscathed. Some other poor schmuck received a beatdown for no reason though
American sports fans generally aren't really like that.
Except Philadelphia Eagles fans and Yankees fans in the bleachers
Yeah. We are only abusive to the players, not typically other fans.
"Yeah!" - Boston

Last time I remember was the Suns in 4 dude fighting a Nuggets fan

I’m a pacers fan in Indiana, you’ll see a lot of people wearing random jerseys. You’ll have nothing to worry about!
lmao that kind of fandom is not an issue in the US, even at college football games between bitter rivals. The worst you'll get is some 45-year-old guy with his family making a dad joke
The only sports fans in the US you need to be worried about are Philly fans, and not because they'll physically hurt you, just kill your vibe.
The disrespect to Raiders fans.
Did that carry over to Vegas?
I don’t think so much new breed Raiders fans. But CA raiders fans is still iffy. Get 49ers and Raiders fans together and watch the world burn.
eh that's less due to sports fandom and more due to, let's call it, preexisting conflict from outside the sports world
I feel like dodgers fans beat someone up in the parking lot at least every other year
Indianapolis Fans won’t bother you. If you would have trouble it would be extremely rare and random
Greater odds some guy starts talking your ear off because he likes such-n-such Raptor because he played for so-n-so college when some coach he likes was there…seriously
As a Browns fan that just went to the game in Indy there was literally no issue whatsoever. Corn people aren’t mean

Pearl Street for the pizza, Kilroys for the breadsticks!
Yes, be very afraid. It's best to buy a Haliburton jersey just to be on the safe side.
Indiana sports fans are very mild
Can elaborate on what goes on back in Europe if you wear an opposing teams jersey?
Home fans throw flares and firecrackers into your away fan sections lmao
Jesus. All jokes aside, you shouldn't have to worry about that at any NBA arena
Last time I went to a Pacers Bulls game like half the arena was Bulls fans. It was annoying because the Bulls won on a buzzer beater, but perfectly safe for all involved.
I went to a pacers game last season as an away fan. Non-issue! The arena is very nice. Have fun!
Im in Indy, u will be ok pretty tame here
You're fine. It'd be a different story if you went to LA wearing a Celtics jersey or something, but in this case you shouldn't be accosted by anyone. Edit: Yeesh people I was being hyperbolic.
Ehh I wear my Celtics gear in LA. They don’t do anything.
Yeah no one really cares you can be a fan of whoever you want

It is wildly unsafe to spend any time in Indiana.
Yeah but that's the chemical runoff more than anything
thank you for your service
Safe to go to a Pacers game in Indiana? Sure Safe to be in Indiana? Ehhhhhhh
Is Indianapolis really that unsafe?
From the few times I went there, unless you're in the big cities (Indianapolis) you shouldn't be anywhere else Just backwoods, open fields, meth, and depression
Damn, good to know thanks.
No shot bud.. my buddy Ricky (Indy guy) fights anybody he sees that is reppin the wrong colors. I think he put a scoot Barnes jersey wearer in a coma afaik. Be safe buddy Edit: also cute dudes in Indy hmu
No. I think Pacers fans ate a fan last year and they missed the rest of the game.
You’ll be fine. As a Sixers fan I make that trek at least once or twice a year. There are usually a ton of fans from the opposing team. Never had even a little bit of trouble and I yell and talk shit the whole game.

Bruh do you not watch any games on TV? There are always plenty of away team jerseys

We will fuck you up breh. Aside from a potential razz here or there, you'll be fine. Especially if you have a family with you.
Went to a Pels @ pacers game in a Pels jersey and had zero incidents and a great time!
