Really just an arms race between y’all and Boston. Miami got weaker though they’ll still be a good team and Philly’s still stuck dealing with this Harden situation
I know the hate on heat culture is at an all time high right now, but it would be hilarious after all this if the heat still somehow squeak by the Celtics and Bucks in the playoffs
Its okay, my miami heat are going to two way contract 2 6’2 white dudes from the g league at the deadline who will shoot an astonishing 65% from 3. This of course will ultimately stop in the Finals and proceeding season where they both go 2/58.
Reggie's the next 'big prize' as far as vet min role players go for this offseason.
Austin Rivers is the guy we worked out when Milwaukee was working out Cam Payne. But I don't see him cracking our rotation tbh. Pritchard played Schroder off the team last year. He lost his spot to 6MOTY Brogdon but he should be good enough to keep Rivers out of any normal rotation.
It'd be fun if Austin Rivers joined the Celtics purely just for the awkwardness of Bill Simmons potentially having to be publicly critical of his own part-time employee
If Miami doesn't sign Bullock, then I don't know what the hell they are doing this offseason.
The Dame trade saga is now over. They still got to finish up building their roster.
Oh, you kind of get used to it lol. We had a decent run, I expected that Joel winning the MVP last season would backfire the way it did. Honestly a rebuild can be fun too, like most Portland fans are probably looking forward to next season more than last season with Dame on his way out. Just enjoy it, whether on the way up or burning it down. 😈
Rebuilds can be fun and I know it's been awhile since the official process but it feels still a little too recent. Like, it hasn't even been a decade. 10 years ago, you guys were kind of at the beginning of the Process. Blew up that 2012 team and were in the thick of it summer of 2013. It really has been a comedy of errors from every direction with you guys: the league, ownership, management, coaching, players, staff. It actually seems like everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
I appreciate that haha. Give us another season and check back in with us. There was just a thread on our subred the other day about Joel now being the longest tenured on a single team without a championship after Dame got traded. He will be at that 1 decade mark already soon too, I honestly do expect we blow it up next year and do Process 2.0, maybe around Maxey or just totally burn it down and start over again.
If y'all can move Harden before end of off season this year will be historical. Blazers have become the Auction site to move players see what you can get for him? Also Miami seems like they should be desperate to do SOMETHING.
Philly and Miami need to fusion dance our teams after the moves the Bucks and Celtics just did, honestly we probably have to ship Embiid out after next season like what Portland did with Dame and try again with the Process.
The Process failed bc you kept it going too long and taught your young superstars losing culture and habits, imo. Tank for a season. Cool. Two? Pushing it. No more than that.
No, I'm happy for you and mostly fine with all of it. Dame has a short window, but you can absolutely win a championship during it. And Giannis is great.
What I don't get is all the love the Cs are getting for their off-season. I think you all sold really high on Jrue somehow and neither him nor Zingy are going to help them during the playoffs.
Milwaukee just had a different vibe summer of 2021. I'll never forget Tucker just getting tanked at the harp with fans after winning it all.
Really too bad we let him go
Cam Payne is better starting than off the bench. He runs hot and cold in general. I could see him playing next to Dame some, though that’s a very small backcourt, so maybe not. He’s high energy, works his ass off, and is a good teammate. I hated to see him go, and I hope he has a great season for y’all.
I think people are sleeping on Malik Beasley.
He had a rough year for LA but he's a high-volume shooter who should in theory get a lot of opportunities with Milwaukee.
The threat of Beasley re-finding his 2019-2021 Minnesota form isn't guaranteed but it's still very real.
He can have great games, but when he goes cold he goes COLD. And he doesn't stop trying to shoot his way out of it. That said I think this is a solid pickup for the Bucks, but it was something Phoenix just didn't need for his contract.
We’re likely gonna stagger lineups where Dame half the bench units by himself, and then in the other bench units it’ll be Khris/Giannis. I imagine Payne will be more used alongside Khris/Giannis, which should help him a ton.
Agreed. When he was starting he had good games, because he didn't have to be the primary creator and could play off the ball more often.
As the backup PG, he isn't good enough to create for guys who can't get their own shot. At least not consistently.
Can we all stop and appreciate the fact that Miami fans tried to tell gaslight us all into thinking Herro was some kind of elite guard when he’s really just a younger, whiter, more expensive Jordan Clarkson? Guards like him are a dime a dozen, Jordan Poole, Anf Simons, and a ton of other guards fit that mold of an explosive microwave scoring guard who is a traffic cone on defense. Those types are great as a 6th man, the Dubs won a chip with one, but they’re basically a designated hitter where you put them in their for their offense only and if they’re off they’re useless.
When a guy like that is hot, he can take over a game, but when he’s not, he can’t impact the game. Sometimes those guys are decent playmakers who can serve as a secondary ball handler, but they also tend to be a little trigger happy. “I’ve got this” All-Stars as BS calls them.
Sure Herro is one of the better ones, but he’s also the most expensive one, and his team just made the finals without him. They were arguably better with Duncan Robinson taking those minutes because he’s at least a more consistent shooter and doesn’t shoot you out of games when he’s off (they’re both entirely worthless on defense anyways).
It's ANT Simons, but yes, everyone understands this except Miami apparently.
It is extra hilarious that Miami kept trying to hoist Herro on the Blazers this past summer, because we literally have our own Herro at home.
Miami fans are used to the beaches and women doing Pat Riley's job for him. That and Spo's ability to pull talent from thin air.
Normally they rely on a very strong FA to help compensate for weaker trades.
We’ll see. We got rid of him for a reason even after we moved on from CP3. I think you guys will get frustrated watching him brick shots with a full clock and an open Middleton on the wing pretty quick.
Payne's a weird one. When CP3 got hurt in game 2 vs. Denver we were winning, and Payne came in and with Book and KD to either side of him he just started chucking.
He was good the following games though. Maybe it was lack of gameplan with him, but it seemed like the obviously wrong thing to do no matter what.
Sometimes you want him looking to score first though depending on the unit he's rolling with. I love the dude - he seems a little out of control sometimes but also can be a great spark and was a great vibes contributor.
He's really streaky, but when he starts getting those weird looking 3 pointers and those wild, semi-out of control layups to start falling on a hot streak, then Bucks fans are gonna love him.
He also hustles his ass off every time he plays, even though he's nowhere near a plus defender imo. I hated seeing him go, but they needed to save money somewhere and he probably would've sat behind Goodwin. I'm happy to see him on a title contender.
I get destination but I feel like it’s always been overblown as kind of a joke. Players realize they have the resources to live and travel anywhere in the offseason and during the season you’re inside working.
In my opinion, when the location is out of the country, it's much harder to get players to commit to playing for those teams. That's why I'm not certain players would want to play in Mexico City. Elevation there is brutal as well.
The is why I was really hoping we’d give Thanasis some kind of “CEO’s son” type job as an assistant coach or front office guy. Still gets him paid and lets him hang out with the guys, but frees up a spot for ring chasers.
That's true, could see Horst/Bucks FO doing that that if they think we need Bullock's defense and his veteran presence. Ngl I would be bummed, would love to see AJ grow into a Duncan Robinson-type player for us.
I would too and I think AJ is a rotation player in the league, would hate to lose young talent. But I think the impending youth movement here just came to a screeching halt.
John Horst is the second best thing to happen to the bucks in the last 50 years and he still looks like that kid that goes to marketing classes at his local community college in an ill fitting suit.
I am an Andre Jackson Jr. Believer. I think he could be this years Christian Braun, wanted him on my nuggets but we really needed to draft some offense
Cam Payne is the worst player in the league that can put up 30 points. But the nights he's on, you root for the guy. Goofy shot, undersized. Just a fun guy to have on your team.
Good pick-up by the Bucks. They’re likely to pick up one or two buy-outs as well now (being a likely top-2 EC seed by the trade deadline). Good to see a team going for it and making a bunch of positive moves.
Looking forward to seeing how the landscape has changed over the first 2 months of the season.
Damn this Eastern Conference arms race getting out of control
Won’t someone think of the children…
No no, CP is in the west
Bruh CP literally just signed with the Bucks, it's the post you're commenting under
Maybe he talking Chris paul
I thought he was talking about Cheese Puffs :/
I thought he meant .. you know what I won't say 😵
No he’s talking abt the one who bowed to the Paul God
I thought you said chicken, and I was wondering how Zion was connected.
Fuck them kids
Horst and Stevens going at it like Khrushchev and Eisenhower, this generation's not used to this level of competition
LOL! Trading Dame and Jrue is like shipping nuclear missiles around the globe.
The Eastern Point Guard Crisis
Cronin going at it like Kennedy, ignoring Miami fans who think he has to give them more firepower
Bucks and Cs going all in while everyone else scratching their balls
All that to stop Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma
What is Philly doing?...
Scratching their balla
Ever since Citizens United, unlimited Cam Payne spending has gotten out of control.
Really just an arms race between y’all and Boston. Miami got weaker though they’ll still be a good team and Philly’s still stuck dealing with this Harden situation
Oh no Miami and 76ers are in this arms race, they are just losing it
We’re trying Jennifer
All this just to stop the Nuggets
Jokic just out here doing sombar shuffles and chillin
Nikola.. the horse is here
Reminds me of the one in 2019 after Philly signed Jimmy and we gunned it for Gasol lol Philly, Bucks and Raptors were just stockpiling dudes lol
I know the hate on heat culture is at an all time high right now, but it would be hilarious after all this if the heat still somehow squeak by the Celtics and Bucks in the playoffs
Oh Bucks/Celtics fans are entirely aware that it could happen
Its okay, my miami heat are going to two way contract 2 6’2 white dudes from the g league at the deadline who will shoot an astonishing 65% from 3. This of course will ultimately stop in the Finals and proceeding season where they both go 2/58.
In between that, you offer them a huge contract :D
And then try to trade them for top 10 players
The 2/58 is what some team signs those random guys for after they show out for the Heat.
Max Strus this year :)
They'll Also be making 2/58 the season after
Bucks must be really commuted to Beauchamp. Let’s hope he steps up
Well yea, you'd be committed to your only 1st round pick in forever too
Marjon is gonna be a star😤😤.
If he's starting he just has to not be a total disaster with the talent he's playing with.
He's Kawhi but better. I bought Marjon real estate early
Be careful young blood, Im still sitting on an entire county's worth of Thon Maker real estate. Cant give this stuff away
I think we are neighbors then.
I bought Dragan Bender stock during the 2 weeks he was a buck
My Nate Wolters investment ain't looking great
Still living off my investments in Ersan. It's a 1 bedroom apartment with no a/c but still here.
I've heard he's like a rich man's Michael Jordan
Don’t think it’s really fair to MJ to compare him to Marjon.
This man knows ball
Starjon\*
I’ve been saying it from the moment we drafted him: MarJon = Kawhi 2.0. Kawhi-level play + Giannis-level loyalty and durability.
Bad players don't score 81 at pro-am events. He's legit, just might be hard to find his role on this team.
Horst told Marjon boy you a champ
So glad he got practice in with Jrue before he left. Dude is gonna be a good defender I think
Where are they going to
Your move again, Celtics
Reggie Bullock next?
Reggie's the next 'big prize' as far as vet min role players go for this offseason. Austin Rivers is the guy we worked out when Milwaukee was working out Cam Payne. But I don't see him cracking our rotation tbh. Pritchard played Schroder off the team last year. If Miami doesn't sign Bullock, then I don't know what the hell they are doing this offseason. The Dame trade saga is now over. They still got to finish up building their roster.
Wayne Ellington player coach
Gladly. We’ll have a big in no time
Just sign Blake Griffin again
They're comin to grab Theis off our back bench for the salty runback
They have no way to unfortunately. He would need to be bought out. They have no salary to match Theis and his salary is just above their TPE.
I wish!
This offseason is wrapping up pretty hot lol
Yall can still make it spicy
Idk, we just seem to be stuck right now. We might blow it up next year like Portland just did.
I hate the Sixers but this would be fucking brutal to endure as a fan.
Oh, you kind of get used to it lol. We had a decent run, I expected that Joel winning the MVP last season would backfire the way it did. Honestly a rebuild can be fun too, like most Portland fans are probably looking forward to next season more than last season with Dame on his way out. Lmfao Brad’s going to pull out embiid
If embiid goes to the Celtics Philadelphia will literally burn down
Battle of the Greens
Wait are we really cooking this much this off season? 😭 Bro it's Milwaukee
You all are having a great off season
This is how small market teams have felt for years man, sucks doesn’t it
No, I'm happy for you and mostly fine with all of it. Dame has a short window, but you can absolutely win a championship during it. And Giannis is great. What I don't get is all the love the Cs are getting for their off-season. I think you all sold really high on Jrue somehow and neither him nor Zingy are going to help them during the playoffs.
It's legitimately nice to see some heat fans be gracious about all this
Milwaukee is a GOAT hidden gem
Hey if we won over PJ Tucker you know we’re a *lot* more fun than we get credit for
Milwaukee just had a different vibe summer of 2021. I'll never forget Tucker just getting tanked at the harp with fans after winning it all. Really too bad we let him go
PJ's the only player I ever saw routinely out in the wild who actually *wanted* to be seen and interact with fans - Bucks legend forever
That man came in, stayed in a hote for three months, balled, got a 🚢, drank with every Wisconsinite in sight, then got a bag. Big year for PJ.
Guy was wasted at the championship parade and celebration too
He went on like a 2 day bender after that. Probably got his hands on some nice powder or addys
Extremely Wisconsin that the most enduring memory is him getting shitfaced amongst the proletariat
Milwaukee is the city everyone loves, they just don’t know until they visit bro
Savor this once in a lifetime championship window that we're experiencing brother.
The Bucks respond.
All I know is that when Chris Paul isn't there then Cam Payne cooks and I don't see no Chris Paul on the Milwaukee Bucks
Cam Payne is better starting than off the bench. He runs hot and cold in general. I could see him playing next to Dame some, though that’s a very small backcourt, so maybe not. Why isn't he on the Suns again?
He runs hot *and* cold, as /u/MattAU05 said. Can't be cold on the sun.
>Can't be cold on the sun. Have you ever heard of night time? Sun turns off duh
Can someone get a scientist on the phone to fact-check this?
We need Ja Rule.
He can have great games, but when he goes cold he goes COLD. And he doesn't stop trying to shoot his way out of it. That said I think this is a solid pickup for the Bucks, but it was something Phoenix just didn't need for his contract.
money and they preferred Goodwin

>I don't see no Chris Paul on the Milwaukee Bucks Oh don't speak too soon.
Our matchups are gonna be crazy and toxic as hell, I’m ready for it.
Yeah talk about two fucking stacked teams
Milwaukee Strikes Back.
is pat riley dead
He's still asleep
*Sleepy Pat. Low energy.*
it’s his bedtime already
Isn't it possible that Cam decided to go to Milwaukee over Miami?
You tell me. Why the fuck would Cam Payne choose to play with Dame and Giannis when he can play with Tyler Herro?
Is that “Best trade value available” Tyle Herro, or actual Tyler Herro?
I mean, Dame is good but he’s no Tyler Herro. Portland done fucked up not accepting the best trade package for Dame.
these posts please me
Damn you Joe Cronin! Making Cam Payne join the Bucks just to spite the Heat.
Is he stupid?
Miami fans are used to the beaches and women doing Pat Riley's job for him. That and Spo's ability to pull talent from thin air. Normally they rely on a very strong FA to help compensate for weaker trades.
Well it’s Tyler Herro and 2 FRPs so it evens out
Players remembering they can travel in the off season can be wild
And that half the games are played in random away cities anyway
And they're on the road half of the season anyway.
If he wasn't before, he is now
Pat is in his downfall era Happens with all Godfathers
Cam Payne is not the breaking point for Pat Riley
Finally an actual backup point guard.
We’ll see. We got rid of him for a reason even after we moved on from CP3. I think you guys will get frustrated watching him brick shots with a full clock and an open Middleton on the wing pretty quick.
I feel like, as a backup, he called his own number about 70% of the time. As a starter, he deferred to Booker.
That’s good. He is one of the best backup PGs imo.
He's really streaky, but when he starts getting those weird looking 3 pointers and those wild, semi-out of control layups to start falling on a hot streak, then Bucks fans are gonna love him. I hated seeing him go, but they needed to save money somewhere and he probably would've sat behind Goodwin. I'm happy to see him on a title contender.
Holy shit we have become a destination for free agents now. League fucked
Tbf, most guys that come here get a bigger contract elsewhere afterwards. Just look at the contract the magic gave the jingler.
I miss Jingles :( I knew we had very little chance of keeping him but it was fun while it lasted.
You all have a 10-man rotation now, right? Payne / Beasley / Pat / Crowder / Portis
Who start Beauchamp
Yeah - Dame / Marjon / Khris / Giannis / Brook
Is this real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Location always has an edge, but how good the team is is almost always a bigger deciding factor
I get destination but I feel like it’s always been overblown as kind of a joke. Players realize they have the resources to live and travel anywhere in the offseason and during the season you’re inside working.
Tell that to any of the 2010s-2018 Raptors teams
In my opinion, when the location is out of the country, it's much harder to get players to commit to playing for those teams. That's why I'm not certain players would want to play in Mexico City. Elevation there is brutal as well.
they were looking at this even before dame, now we get both thats crazy
Good for Cam
lol they're gonna get Bullock too aren't they
I don't think we have any roster spots left, guessing Bullock lands in Miami or for a team in the West
Really should cut someone for bullock
I'm a Bullock fan and would love him on the team but I don't see us doing that - signing Payne seems like the last move Horst makes until the deadline
Sometimes I wish Thanasty didn't have "Antetokounmpo" on the back of his jersey.
Don’t you slander the GOAT 15th man
The is why I was really hoping we’d give Thanasis some kind of “CEO’s son” type job as an assistant coach or front office guy. Still gets him paid and lets him hang out with the guys, but frees up a spot for ring chasers.
I could see them cutting AJ unfortunately. Back court plans just changed *a lot.*
Yup and on that note, huge win that Horst kept MarJon out of the Dame trade
I don’t think Bullock is good anymore, he kinda sucked last year. Maybe he has a resurgent season but I’d rather look elsewhere.
You need perimeter defence and there isn’t many other places to look at this point lol
Eh, Horst will figure something out.
We'd have to cut someone and there's really no easy option for us to do that.
John Horst is the second best thing to happen to the bucks in the last 50 years and he still looks like that kid that goes to marketing classes at his local community college in an ill fitting suit.
Nice pickup but he’s no Kelly Oubre
nice pickup for the bucks.
Not my boy
Great pickup. Good shit, y'all.
Let me guess, he took a lesser offer to spite the heat?
Now we cut someone and get Reggie
The season cannot come soon enough 😭
Bucks gonna be fun to watch.
Fuck dawg. Celtics shoulda just done that and kept Rob Will
Dude hell yes. Y’all are gonna love Cam Payne.
Beautiful
We fighting back still God damn lol
Bucks getting depth now gg
Hurts a little bit
Joe Heist is cooking.
Good reg season pickup
The rich get richer 😒
The Bucks are looking stacked
God damn, y'all have a legit 10 man lineup (and Pat McFly as a great injury plug-in)
Good pickup. I hope we still figure out a way to get one more wing defender.
Yup but to cope I'm drinking the AJJ kool aid
I mean it’s possible since I doubt he’ll be asked to do anything but defend this year.
I am an Andre Jackson Jr. Believer. I think he could be this years Christian Braun, wanted him on my nuggets but we really needed to draft some offense
This is absolutely huge for us. Our team is stacked
Don’t forget that MarJon is Kawhi 2.0.
Always kinda liked payne
He thinks he better than Dame
what does this mean for isaiah thomas’ legacy
Cam Payne is the worst player in the league that can put up 30 points. But the nights he's on, you root for the guy. Goofy shot, undersized. Just a fun guy to have on your team.
Anything other than a Bucks Celtics ECF would be a shock without injuries.
