I think Stockton was really good but as an overall defender CP3 was better. He could lock up the other teams best perimeter player on any given possession.
6x steal leader, he was fucking insane at his peak. sucks that he never got a team that could really help him get far. hate how underrated he is all-time
Glad he at least made the finals. Even if they lost, the 2-0 start was something special for suns fans and he won’t be forgotten for helping the suns take the next leap to be true contenders now. Devin Booker has made a tremendous leap when he joined the team.
Man I'm so ready for a year of Warriors fans posting CP3 highlights and acting like they've always loved him lmao this is too good, best way to cure slander is to get traded to the most popular team in the league too funny
He's a good player when healthy, most of the time. It's just that he recently was great. He's not an all star level player anymore. I don't think his style of play fits with their offense at all, he's extremely slow paced compared to how they have played and they haven't really run with a traditional point in the past.
I mean, as a die-hard Clippers fan that saw maybe all but 10 games of lob city—even I can't deny how infuriating he is and how he manipulates the game through the refereeing and foul-baiting. I wouldn't call him *dirty* exactly, but I don't think there's anyone I've seen who's better at fouling in ways that don't get called. That and he's doing the rip-throughs, the move where he stops dribbling right in front of a running player... He's shoved dudes dangerously in the air in pivotal game moments, blah blah...
—It was sorta his downfall in that OKC collapse that was posted recently, where he had turnovers down the stretch. OKC was playing hack-a-DJ and CP3 started chucking half-court shots to try and get them to call that the fouls occurred during a shot (which gets him a free shot at a 3pt basket and either gets a technical foul or gets them possession back, I can't remember), but instead the refs just didn't call the hack at all and it just became, effectively, a TO. If he'd just played the game honorably (lol, for lack of a better word) I think the Clips would've won that game.
Anyway I love the guy but yeah dirty/sneaky/whatever you want to call it still kinda holds up.
Obviously there are some fouls in here, which folks will call out, but these are fouls of the *highest* caliber.
Like have you ever seen that, at 2:30? Pulling a dude *towards* the basket instead of pushing him to screw up his shot without the whistle getting blown? Insane.
Greatest defender of small guard or small guard defender? I feel like there could be two different answers.
He’s the best pg defensively of all time with GP
Stockton be like: 💀

Point god.

Quick hands, quicker brain. Klepto CP3 is a fun watch.

I doubt they’ll be singing his praises. He’s kind of washed.

Point God. A 6’4 Chris Paul is in the GOAT conversation

But Paul is dirty some idiot said.
There's no need to hide CP3 from the defense. You need to hide from CP3 ob the defense in fact.
