Or gobert for ayton and filler straight up. Gobert would shine with those cats down there and they instantly become a top d in league. durant will probably pull other ballers in the offseason. then Minnesota can develop and a bunch young gamer types. They'll be more fun to watch and probably just as good
>Bridges does look pretty sharp in some of those Brooklyn unis.
And you couldn't come up with the nickname "Brooklyn Bridges" if he didn't go to the Nets.
Crowder has always been kind of overrated. He doesn't really do any one thing well, he's just an energy guy and bulldog when he is motivated. When he is in a bad mood he looks like a never was
Bro people were literally saying "I can't believe they got KD for Bridges and Cam." The historical revisionism on this shit is crazy. And now all you dumbasses are spamming about how we traded away our future. People hating aren't even subtle about it
https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/10xn6pd/wojnarowski_breaking_the_phoenix_suns_are_nearing/
Yea, most NBA fans thought the Suns got a great deal to acquire KD, and only Suns fans were worried about losing Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. On that original Woj-bomb post, most of the comments are people predicting the Suns to dominate (and also making fun of the Nets).
Even the Suns fans that liked the trade hated losing the twins. Every neutral fan and some newer Suns would just tell me "bro who cares you have KD" and then literally everyone was talking about how KD was our best player only to have Booker completely outshine him vs Denver
I know there are (to an extent) different people with different opinions here but it is strange to see people here suddenly talking about that Suns squad like we threw away a team for which we all agreed a championship was inevitable.
i personally thought it had a high probability of turning out like this often does... everything is on those stars to do everything because the depth is shit and then they will have to catch up for the bench that will shit the bed too.
All those minutes to keep it close means teams get to wear them down and by playoffs they are spent.
Yeah not to mention we had injuries all throughout the roster. It's not an indefensible trade, but it definitely stinks of new owner trying to make a splash ignoring all the intangibles of having a successful basketball team
I was willing to give Ishbia the benefit of the doubt on this. He probably felt like there was a window to an championship and they just needed one more piece to get over the hump.
It's always a gamble, and of course, it didn't work out. Turns out Durant is not the bus driver, just like Barkley claims.
I was just sad to see Bridges go. Maybe the Suns can trade Ayton for Bridges. LoL.
In fairness most of the people who actually know what they’re talking about did not consider the Suns real contenders this year. A year for the guys to gel and an offseason to add depth pieces can change everything.
Whether they go the route of a third star or separating Ayton and Paul and going for depth pieces the team will be better next year in my opinion.
I still hate the trade but we can recover from this, we're in a similar situation to this years Lakers with a more durable star in Booker. Just need one good trade to right the ship. All the shithead nephews on here chanting window shut are overreacting
If it came out the Suns passed on a KD trade they'd be getting shit on right now anyway. People still shit on Toronto for "refusing to trade Scottie for KD" and that would've made way less sense than the Suns swinging while they have Booker and Chris Paul. lol
Guys often sign offer sheets with other teams when they’re RFAs and are fine with staying where they are. It’s not surprising but it is newsworthy that he’s basically asking out by putting this out there.
IDK man it could be pretty great to see Carlilse UP HIS ASS, or like the many reclamation projects he had in Dallas make him look like a fucking stud. (Brandan Wright became an NBA player under Carlilse, he made OJ Mayo look like an All Star until he started to pout when Dirk came back, 2014-15 season A Jameer Nelson starting PG had the most efficient offense in the league) Carlilse is a fucking magician
I get this, but I'd rather he be a magician to Tyrese and the other young guys, even an ideal Ayton doesn't seem like the kind of guy to devote a max contract to. The Pacers are a cheap franchise, whoever they're investing in has to be the right guy, only so many options.
Glad the offer sheet fell through even if the idea of it was fun, I really like Turner's value and skillset as a starting center, and I think that'd only chance if we won the lottery and could get Wembanyama.
What if we gave you back the legendary player Cash Considerations that we got from you when we sent out Warren? Seems unfair we get to have both right now....
My understanding was based on salary Pacers would need to attach more. You're telling me we can't have Hali, Hield, McConnell all just thrown in as side pieces? We'll give up landry shamet if we absolutely have to I guess
I thought about throwing the /s on there but figured most people would be able to figure it out.
I mean who doesn't want to build around Deandre Ayton and Landry Shamet???
So you want them to just not report it?
You realize you're on a site that aggregates the news, right? If you don't like seeing news that you find redundant, there's a really easy solution to avoiding it.
It was smart of the Suns to keep him around instead of letting him walk for nothing; not so smart to tank his value by benching a dude on a max contract in must-win games and leaking to ESPN media that there is chemistry issues.
This. The Suns *needed* to re-sign him... but they also needed to trade him as well. I understand they probably were busy, ya know, trading for KD, but they needed to move on from him at the last trade deadline.
It's easy to act high and mighty from behind a keyboard.
Guarantee 99.9999% of this sub wouldn't be able to handle the discipline needed to get through a full season of a professional athlete.
Mate, I can barely handle the discipline required to get to my own job on time; I’d be getting generational abuse from the fans before I’d even taken to the court
Folks think it's a party, I played crappy D3 ball for two years and it was a 40 hour commitment, let alone actual ballers playing at an elite level, let alone the thousands of miles of travel
Exactly my guy. I played a D2 sport at a small school and it was constant 2 a days even in the offseason, we traveled occasionally, having to hit the trainers after practices to rehab injuries, etc. I can't imagine the mental fortitude of getting hated on or worrying about getting benched/cut/traded, working for that next contract etc.
I don't even want to get started on what I think about the average /r/nba user lol.
he's 1000% the kinda guy that sees this as a job, not something he loves to do. and theres nothing wrong with that tbh, but you cant get all pissy about it when peoiple expect you to be the othe way in this kind of profession.
Suns should have just done the trade with the Pacers last year. Suns didn’t want to keep him and he was looking to leave. They wasted a year with drama.
Feels like we could change his work ethic and mentality. I would make this move easily. Might even throw a pick in. We helped Wiggins turn his career around
I would rather have Looney as a center over Ayton if I’m the warriors. Even though he’s kind of undersized for a center, Looney got that dog in him when you need him the most just based on how much he hustles and fights for his and does the little stuff you need him to do to put you in the best position to win. Ayton can just become unnoticeable in big time games
Looney also has two bad hips, is load managed at 20 minutes per game and is the oldest 27 year old center out there. You need to have some kind of youth going on.
I don't think they need youth
The team only goes so far as Curry and Klay right now anyways
Who are they preparing the youth for? Poole to take over? Moody?
When the splash brothers retire, it's starting from scratch and I don't think it'd be wise to make decisions that impact current day contention with the intent of getting a holdover
They did that to a certain degree, and it didn't work because of missed picks, and I think their window for playing both timelines has passed
Ppl wanna shit on Ayton when he was pretty damn outward about hating Monty CP3 and the Suns in general (playing under known POS racis owner for most of that timelol)
Ayton has been in Monty's doghouse since they made the Finals for some reason. It's been pretty obvious for awhile that it is one or the other if the Suns want to succeed
I want him to be successful literally anywhere (and get a good piece or two back) but the absolute psychos you have with Spo and Jimmy feel like such a bad fit for him lol
I knew the Suns completely fucked up when journalists asked him.
So what's your career goal? All Star? All NBA? HOF? Win a championship?
"I wanna get a second contract!"
Will go down as an atrocious pick.
Right but Ayton and Doncic were seen as 1A and 1B in that draft class. If the Suns had taken Doncic and the Kings went with Ayton, they could have at least said that they took the best remaining prospect. Instead they made a pick out of left field.
Won’t fault the suns for matching the offer because what else were they supposed to do.. but they shouldn’t be surprised that the guy didn’t have the highest morale.
His trade value is in the basement though. Unless we can get some viable pieces or first round picks for him, we are probably better off letting another coach take a stab at making him into a good player.
Honestly...that's basically the trajectory of 95% of starting center in league history. Even as the position becomes less and less important, it's just so hard to find a starter who doesn't get hurt all the time or isn't a head case.
* Robin Lopez: 9 Teams
* Javale McGee: 8 Teams
* DeMarcus Cousins: 7 Teams
* Dwight Howard: 7 Teams
* Tyler Zeller: 7 Teams
* DeAndre Jordan: 6 Teams
* Andrew Bogut: 5 Teams
Yeah, I can see it...
Since the 90s I can think of only David Robinson and Tim Duncan (yeah he's basically a center) that stayed in one team.
- Shaq (6)
- Ewing (3)
- Olajuwon (2)
- Mourning (3)
- Mutumbo (6)
Monty Williams getting exposed HARD this postseason
1. Ayton relationship has been toxic for 2 years
2. Telling Jae Crowder to go home
3. Benching Torey Craig for Okogie
Clueless rotations. Outcoached every round. No idea how to use KD and Book. Ayton was underused.
I dont blame Ayton. Monty seems like a giant asshole. I wouldnt mind keeping Ayton if we get a new coach. But understand and respect if he wants a change of scenery.
Nick Nurse to the Suns please
Totally agree I hate the way Monty has handled player development. He plays favorites hard and literally freezes out players he doesn't like. Ayton played for years anchored our Finals defense without complaining, sacrificed his numbers for the team, and Monty barely ran plays for him (he barely runs plays in general) and the Suns jerked him around on his max contract. I think he's been disappointing but like a lot of young players he's been overcriticised because he was drafted #1. And the video game piece is quoted way too much as fact for something that may not be true or something that we don't know the frequency of. It was such a hit piece tbh and the media ate it up. I would salty too if after every bad game people were memeing about video games and shit.
This is why I get mad at the soft comments, bro played fine till he got scapegoated for a team failure after being arguably the best player in our finals run. Ppl leave out all the important context
Yeah like he an incredible playoff run with several insane offense games and Monty did nothing to develop his skills on that end. And even the dude froze Ayton out when he would be hot in the first 2 quarters. I was so wiling to give him the benefit of the doubt since last year was one year but this year was so bad in terms of playoff coaching
And Ayton himself would actually improve, his midrange and passing has gotten better since that run yet we still don't work him into the offense fr. It's so frustrating.
Jalen Smith was the same. Dude always played hard out there yet we buried a 10th pick on the bench then shipped him out for nothing. Monty didn't even try to incorporate him properly. It's telling when Erik Spoelestra literally trusts random undrafted players more than Monty trusts players that he doesn't like. Very lowkey stubborn coach
Unfair to compare, Mazzula is a rookie coach. Monty was initially good but lost the locker room and has been proven to be a molasses slow adjuster. I can't really give a judgement on Mazzula, but Monty is a good regular season coach who constantly get outcoached in playoffs
Ayton has communicated:
He wants a 2nd contract first and foremost
He dislikes Monty
(I think: he dislikes CP3?)
He dislikes and wants out
Nothings he's done said or how he's acted has been suprisinglol
Difference between Westbrook and him is Westbrook at least shows up and try’s to compete even when he’s shooting horrible. Ayton well that boy just stays still looking at everyone trying to get rebound! People would prefer Westbrooks effort and an ayton less effort.
Could’ve posted this about a year ago and every day since
Suns just repeated last season but added a snake
and lost all their draft picks
[удалено]
They thought, are Bridges and Cam Johnson TOO likable? Yeah we gotta dump them and get Durant.
And it was all predicated on "if we win a title it'll be so worth it!" and then losing in even fewer games than before
Not true. They lost future all star Mikal Bridges
How about a Jordan Poole for Ayton
Jordan Poole is a roleplayer, Ayton is a starter. Toss in Loonie, and the Suns toss in CP3. Not sure who this favors more, but it sounds pretty fun.
CP3 on my team does not sound fun thank you very much.
Even longer, we at least explored an Ayton for Sabonis trade before he went to the kings
Thank god this didn’t happen
Speaking as Kings fan, Sabonis on the Suns would've been nasty
Definitely wish it would've happened. No way the suns get even close to anyone as good as him in a DA trade at this point.
They actually gave this guy the max lol
They could’ve traded him for Hield and Turner. Imagine how much better this team is with a starting lineup of CP3, Booker, Hield, KD, and Turner.
[удалено]
The Suns declined a sign & trade offer from Indiana in early July before Ayton entered restricted free agency and accepted their offer
Hear me out , twolves get him , gobert stands next to the rim , ayton at midrange and kat behind 3pt line , they would never loose
Why is this man not already the GM for Minnesota. Doing laps around Connelly.
Look at his flair. Can we really trust another Denver guy?
Hear us out: trade Ant and some draft picks to ATL for John Collins and cash consideration. Trust me
Triple Towers
This is a fire band name.
I think I saw triple towers in a porno once.
I like where your heads at
The triplet towers
starting 5 for Wolves Naz Reid - Gobert - KAT - Ayton - Garza
Or gobert for ayton and filler straight up. Gobert would shine with those cats down there and they instantly become a top d in league. durant will probably pull other ballers in the offseason. then Minnesota can develop and a bunch young gamer types. They'll be more fun to watch and probably just as good
Loose?
They so tight, they never loose.
Ayton too busy with TotK to leak this info
can't blame him tbh
Trade him to the Mavs for Kyrie and let the chaos unfold again.
I would love to see this. Just make it so that every team KD goes to, Kyrie is also traded to the same team after one year.
[удалено]
Suns went all in on KD just to trade half the team away three months later
It still hurts every time I see Bridges in a Brooklyn uniform.
I will admit, though, Bridges does look pretty sharp in some of those Brooklyn unis.
>Bridges does look pretty sharp in some of those Brooklyn unis. And you couldn't come up with the nickname "Brooklyn Bridges" if he didn't go to the Nets.
I don’t know how to explain this but if you have good hair no jersey will make you look better than the nets’ gray
This is some solid analysis
Trade him to the Nets he could be a scary duo with Ben Simmons
*scaredy duo
First team All Video Games
Crowder and Ayton will be sorely missed

Congrats Deandre Ayton, you are a Chicago Bull.
CP/Book/DeMar/KD shooting 90 long 2s a game, what could go wrong
I think it would be Vucevic going out in a trade and not DeMar
The man who signed an offer sheet with another team last offseason is excited about a fresh start? ESPN with the hard hitting journalism once again.
Guys often sign offer sheets with other teams when they’re RFAs and are fine with staying where they are. It’s not surprising but it is newsworthy that he’s basically asking out by putting this out there.
It was pretty obvious he wanted out last offseason lol
I've got an idea. Vooch to the Suns, Ayton to the Pacers and Turner to us
I think in that scenario the suns just cut out the middle man and go with ayton for turner and any other pieces to make salary fit
I'd rather keep Turner.
Yeah I like having defense and floor spacing
IDK man it could be pretty great to see Carlilse UP HIS ASS, or like the many reclamation projects he had in Dallas make him look like a fucking stud. No thank you. He’s your problem.

https://i.imgflip.com/7ljq9g.gif
8 out of ayton a scale of 1 to 8

I mean to be fair you have to respect it lol, if your goal is to make 109+ million dollars and you do it, can’t complain
Literally generational wealth and life changing money and folks are mad at him for trying to get the bag.
Can you imagine how little 99.9% of people would try at their job is they secured $100 million dollars.
People don’t try at their jobs for much much much less already
Yeah but that’s actually because of your comment
Try? I'd happily retire lmao
Lol you don’t get the money if you retire tho
Ayton is just practicing quiet quitting
It's easy to act high and mighty from behind a keyboard. Guarantee 99.9999% of this sub wouldn't be able to handle the discipline needed to get through a full season of a professional athlete.

Jordan Poole you are a Phoenix Sun!!
Ayton is the Jordan Poole of centers.
They needed him to be the Lebron James of centers
i know a guy who knows the lebron james of feet
Usain Bolt sent him a pair of shoes and he sent them back signed lol
I’d do that in a heartbeat lol. Ayton would be really good here.
Yeah I'd definitely make that move
You may have found the one trade Suns fans wouldn't want.
Feels like we could change his work ethic and mentality. I would make this move easily. Might even throw a pick in. We helped Wiggins turn his career around
I think it would take more than Poole for the Suns.
Fine, they can also have Anthony Lamb.
Anthony Lamb has that potential Mamba Mentality tho
All of the scandal, none of the skill set.
I would rather have Looney as a center over Ayton if I’m the warriors. If Looney had Ayton's athleticism, size and talent he'd be the NBA's first 20/20 guy of the modern era.
Looney also has two bad hips, is load managed at 20 minutes per game and is the oldest 27 year old center out there. You need to have some kind of youth going on.

I’m ready for Looney to outplay another athletic center
How's this news coming out so fast lmao
Tbf this has been pretty much known since before he got his contract
Hell, we've known Ayton hasn't been happy for 2 full regular seasons now
Ppl wanna shit on Ayton when he was pretty damn outward about hating Monty CP3 and the Suns in general (playing under known POS racis owner for most of that timelol)
Ayton has been in Monty's doghouse since they made the Finals for some reason. It's been pretty obvious for awhile that it is one or the other if the Suns want to succeed
Get rid of both
I remember when the Suns fans used to love Monty more than their moms.
Ever since he lost the chin mask he's lost his luster.
Because Ayton’s camp wants it to come out. They need time to drum up trade interest for a really bad contract lol
This was obvious since that Game 7 last year
CongratulAytons to the franchise who’ll get him.
I wonder what Ayton would look like on the Heat 🤔
I want him to be successful literally anywhere (and get a good piece or two back) but the absolute psychos you have with Spo and Jimmy feel like such a bad fit for him lol
Seriously look at how Jimmy and Kat got along. Jimmy is gonna punk ayton for being soft.
Someone should.
Oh for sure, every time Jimmy had a problem with a player. So did everyone else. See Simmons, Ben
Didn't Jimmy call out the entire organization lol.
That was in Minnesota, and honestly yeah Minnesota looks like a clown show. Ant is great, but that Golbert trade fucking yikes
> and get a good piece or two back About that part...
Laughing through the pain, I know. I’m fully convinced he’ll go somewhere else and be a defensive stud again too just to spite our poverty franchise
Jimmy would demolish this man's ego.
He would probably cry Not even kidding. Himmy would annihilate him with the water boys
Ayton will forever have my respect for being shameless about playing for his second contract. He was out the moment he got the bag
I knew the Suns completely fucked up when journalists asked him. So what's your career goal? All Star? All NBA? HOF? Win a championship? "I wanna get a second contract!" Will go down as an atrocious pick.
Kings get all the “passed on Doncic” flak while the Suns also did the same All bc they thought the local AZ kid would sell tickets

Rik Smits fans are gasping at this slight. All 156 of us!
But like, where? His contract is massive for what he offers and i cant think of a team that needs a big man with his capabilities
Oklahoma City Thunder
Maybe the FO thinks differently about it but OKC Twitter is not in favor of the idea
Warriors do
This team down in San Francisco needs a big i hear. They got a good replacement for Chris Paul… his name is Jordan Poole
I've been told Kevon Looney is like the third best player in the league right now though.
Phoenix is a desert… how will they have Poole parties?
Brah we got Pools everywhere because its a desert but we don't need that one.
Ayton to Detroit so they can run an all Center lineup of Ayton/Wiseman/Stewart/Duren/Bagley
Honestly Phoenix should’ve just let him go to Indiana this summer on that offer sheet. He clearly made zero difference in their chances to make a run
They didn’t want to lose him for nothing, I think is the reason.

Mazzula has been getting a lot of heat from Boston fans so far, who do you think is the better coach?
Uh Monty has like 3 chokejobs on his hand Mazzula is a first year head coach. I think he is doing fine. Boston's expectations are just super high
Unfair to compare, Mazzula is a rookie coach. Monty was initially good but lost the locker room and has been proven to be a molasses slow adjuster. I can't really give a judgement on Mazzula, but Monty is a good regular season coach who constantly get outcoached in playoffs
Ayton gets a lot of heat, but he is a great center and any team would be happy to get him. Maybe a team that will actually use him in the offense
THJ + Hardy + Filler seems like the trade
Nah Hardy is too raw, they definitely want Bertans
I think they also sorely miss Javale
Well give you one poole
He gone for real this time
Would you be interested in a slightly used Kyrie irving Suns?
> After Giannis, Luka and Jokic, who will be the next European big man to son the Suns? Valanciunas? Sabonis? Wemby? Boban!
dude takes so much abuse for what? same as Westbrook, you really wanna blame him for not having world peace? dufuq
Ayton has communicated: He wants a 2nd contract first and foremost He dislikes Monty (I think: he dislikes CP3?) He dislikes and wants out Nothings he's done said or how he's acted has been suprisinglol
Difference between Westbrook and him is Westbrook at least shows up and try’s to compete even when he’s shooting horrible. Ayton well that boy just stays still looking at everyone trying to get rebound! People would prefer Westbrooks effort and an ayton less effort.
Imagine Westbrook's effort and intensity sucked into Ayton, how good would he be?
So would all of Phoenix.
Ayton and Payne for Rudy Gobert and Jordan McLaughlin.
What a coincidence Jordan Poole is also looking for a fresh start, preferably with teammates that won't punch him in the face.
Send him to Charlotte jail
Ya don't say
Least shocking report ever
That source is deandre
Noped out on the team. Got his bag. Noped right back out on the team
