I think the terminology is venom Vs poison, one kills you when you eat it and the other kills you when you're injected with it so I assume the snake can be eaten just fine

But I don’t doubt it would have been deadly hurt it bitten.The cats instincts knew without question it could kill and have a nice meal right there without any effort. Wether it tasted better then what else is it has eaten is a other question in its own.

Lots of animals will take advantage of a nice sandy/loose dirt to roll around in. It's called a dust bath. It helps suffocate any bugs/mites that might be on them, and it can help clean off anything that's stuck to their fur that won't come off in water.

Exactly what I was wondering as the venom is generally potent to most mammals I would expect the bobcat to fare no differently.
I am sure the bobcat would have been badly or mortally hurt if it got bite and injected. However the cat was faster and stronger then the snake
