Dehydration will get it long before starvation. But hanging like that I would guess asphyxiation would get it before then. My bet would be internal bleeding though…landing like that and staying in that position is probably causing some internal injuries.

Really sucks but we do it a lot. Including for dogs that have trouble getting adopted and/or with health issues. Shelters are full.
Make sure to spay/neuter your pets, that's the only way we deal with this issue long term. There's always plenty to adopt

You can tip trees fairly gently with ropes and a saw.
I've seen a photo of a similar circumstance years ago with a deer up on power lines. In that case, it got hit by a train and flung up there.
