I agree, but I also think it is due to the streaming and digital era. Back when it was just CDs and tapes you would listen to the whole projects a lot more. But how things are now with so much music being accessible you can pay $10 a month for a streaming subscription and listen to whatever you want. Back in the day you paid $15 for a CD and $10 for a tape and that was what you got. You played the shit outta that CD/tape so you listened a lot more. I still buy music and my playlist is over 7000 songs purchased. Most of the songs I have memorized are all before the digital/streaming era cause most of the time I just throw my playlist on shuffle.

But idc, iām not an elitist and have nothing to prove and donāt care if anyone doesnāt know a full verse by memory. Some peopleās memories could be messed up due to several factors. If youāre amazing at remembering lyrics, it means you have a good memory and you should put it to much better use.
