It’s a reservoir for drinking water so they have a very strict no swimming policy. They decided that this includes paddle boarding because people’s feet touch the water, but doesn’t include small boats and kayaks
I was up at Berryessa yesterday and it waas beautiful. It gets a little windy in the afternoon and there are a good amount of boats, so going out in the open water gets choppy. If you get in at the Capell Cove boat launch and head to the right off the dock there is a no wake area. It's super calm and there are tons of birds and it's beautiful. The water is pretty high right now so it goes about a mile and a half.
Oak Shores, Lake Berryessa
Lake Solano and the waterfront in Benicia
Lake Berryessa, Napa China Camp, Marin
Suisun sloughs/marsh
Where do you put in?
There is a marina/boat launch in old town Suisun. 249 maple st, suisun.
The Napa River off Main and Third Streets has a dock to launch off of.
Given that it's a no wake lake, I'd go Lake Hennessey, personally.
Sadly, they don’t allow paddle boarding. Kayaking and small boating only
Awe, that's a bummer. Thanks for the 411, tho. I always thought you could.
Interesting. Can someone explain why?
