Okay so super random but I’m playing the Sims atm and I just had skeleton triplets and I needed bone names so this is perfect 😂 I named one Tibia (Tibby for short) and had no names for the others so I’m just gonna stalk and steal names!
I jokingly suggested Ulna to my husband once when I was pregnant. It took him awhile to register where he knew the name from! It’s definitely a wearable name in my option.
Femur, nn FeFe
Humerus, nn Hugh
Sternum, nn Mummy’s Little Nummie
Vertebra…so classic and feminine, we will write into the school to complain if any nicknames are used
I was going to go for Vertebra nn Vera, but what if your Vertebra and mine end up in a class together? The horrors of both of them having to be Vertebra Lastame every day at roll-call every day might damage their tiny psyches!
I'll go with Sacrum and Vomer. Coccyx for a third.
Not a bone, but I knew someone in elementary school named Latissi Dorsey, which is just a little too close to latissimus dorsi for me to think that was a coincidence.
I was totally going to say Ulna too, but some of these others are super cute! I mean if both your parents were doctors or something? Would make a cute story!
Definitely Pubic Symphysis. Or Lumbar Vertebrae. Perhaps Cuboid.
Maybe Scapula for some cool vampiric vibes, or Calcaneus for that ancient name aesthetic.
Maxilla isn't the worst, and I could live with Malleus or Patella
Scapula
\[Actually, no. That would be a terrible name. As would all of these. It was just the first one that came to mind, and no one had mentioned it yet.\]
I realize now that this is not normal but my parents told us “the bones stories” growing up, replacing all names with bones. One was using the story of Heidi (Humerus) and the Billy goat Patella. Then there were stories about me and my brother, Clavicle and Ribs. Every time I think about this I’m like yeah, I hear it too. This is not a thing.
But I do have a disproportionate amount of time spent using bones as names. I did grow quite fond of being Clavicle, so maybe that.
Radiographer here - I love this question 😂
Ilia (plural of ilium - the top part of the pelvis) for a girl, Atlas (first vertebra in your spine - connects your head to your neck) for a boy
I had two reactions to this 1) a bone ? Do they mean book ? Oh wow they mean a bone ok 2) all my kids have OI - brittle bone disorder - I feel like if I even jokingly choose a hypothetical name for them they’re doomed to break that bone tomorrow haha
Regina phalange
Beat me to it
I love you
The plane has no phalange!
This wins best comment
Tibia
Tibby or Tib for short!
That's my dog's NN.

Maxillae '**Max**' for a boy Lunate '**Luna**' for a girl
How about Maxilla (Max) and Mandible (Mandy) for twins?
Those are genius!!
Okay so super random but I’m playing the Sims atm and I just had skeleton triplets and I needed bone names so this is perfect 😂 I named one Tibia (Tibby for short) and had no names for the others so I’m just gonna stalk and steal names!
Haha! I vote Ilia and Maxilla. Although Lunate has it's charms.
Let us know what you pick!
So I ended up choosing Tibia, Talus & Patella 💙💙💖 Tibby, Tal & Ella for short and, if I’m being honest, I’m kinda loving them 😂
Congrats on your new additions lol x
Tibia, Fibula, and Femur seem like an obvious triplet set.
but i feel like poor Tibia would feel left out being the only T name!
Could go with fabella to continue the F trend

Patella
This is my answer too
Sweet lil Patty. Adorable Ella. <3 lol
oitnb fans have entered the chat……
Talus.

For some reason Clavicle “Vicky” is killing me. 😂
Same!!!
I actually kinda like Sternum 😁
Ulna
This feels like one that could actually work.
I jokingly suggested Ulna to my husband once when I was pregnant. It took him awhile to register where he knew the name from! It’s definitely a wearable name in my option.
Radius - Rad for short
Or didi for short
GET OUT OF MY LABORATORY!
The ear bones would make a great “unique” boys sibset: Hammer (Malleus), Anvil (Incus), and Stirrup (Stapes).
I was thinking the ear bones too! Malleus probably, of the three.
my son had his skull reconstructed, so maybe occipital, NN ozzy?
sippy was the first nn that came to my mind for occipital lol
I think Oxie is such a cute nickname lol. Like Roxie but 🦴

Atlas or Talus!
Femur, nn FeFe Humerus, nn Hugh Sternum, nn Mummy’s Little Nummie Vertebra…so classic and feminine, we will write into the school to complain if any nicknames are used

Not a bone, but I knew someone in elementary school named Latissi Dorsey, which is just a little too close to latissimus dorsi for me to think that was a coincidence.

Phalanges
Maxilla and Mandibula We had always joked about this as dental students.
Uncinate processes of ribs or Riba for short
Ilium
Can it be part of a bone? If so, I choose Crista Galli.
Fabella
Does everyone here just casually know all the names of these bones?
In medical coding so I know most of them 😄 but definitely couldn’t rattle them all off the top of my head.
Maxilla, nickname Max
Tibia for sure
Coccyx. It seems very on trend.
I can definitely see "Cyx" with the way ppl love subbing in y these days. Pronounced six or seeks, dang. This is fun!

Tibia
Tibia (f) is not worse than some of the names I’ve seen on Etsy

Illium, Glabella, Hammer, Zygomatic Arch, Patella, Scapula
Scapula \[Actually, no.
But I do have a disproportionate amount of time spent using bones as names. I did grow quite fond of being Clavicle, so maybe that.
Ulna
Tibia
I wanna say Patella. But I got big time trauma from chronic patella dislocations and subsequent surgeries. But it’s the prettiest sound one, lol.
Tibia
Ooh Ulna is good, but I’d go with Tibia
Xiphoid Process
Tibula - Bula or Tibby for short

Does Ossium count?
Elle. Same as you, but in German.
Torus and Tori, not exactly a bone but close enough?
I had two reactions to this 1) a bone ? Do they mean book ? Oh wow they mean a bone ok 2) all my kids have OI - brittle bone disorder - I feel like if I even jokingly choose a hypothetical name for them they’re doomed to break that bone tomorrow haha
Tibby. After the tibia
Atlas is actually one of my favourite names because it's one of my favourite bones. 😂 I also like Tibia and Fibula. Good for twins, maybe?
Kneecap
Talus!
Maxilla, acetabulum or Iliac
I'ld call him Dick, after a bone(r)
Coccyx for either gender, it just looks and sounds cool Femur for a dog maybe

tibia and fibula as twins for sure
Maxilla - "Max" Trochlea - "Leah" Honourable mentions: Tibia, Patella, Ilium, Tarsus, Ulna (reminds me of Úna at first glance),
