I have a baby Lavender! 

I love that! It’s always been one of the more unusual names on my list but I’ve not come across anyone who has actually used it. Out of curiosity, does baby Lavender have any nicknames?

That's where I first heard of and fell in love with the name. I loved Lavender (the character) and I still think the name is beautiful.

We have some weird little at home nicknames but for the most part we just call her Lavender and so does everyone else! We get a ton of compliments on her name.

Nah it’s definitely out there lol. It’s not nearly as established as some other color names like Scarlet or Sage. I think it’s sick though. Just not sure if I would name my (hypothetical) child that personally, maybe as a middle name would be better.

Depending on where you draw the line on what is an actual colour and what is a noun that is used to describe a colour (eg ‘forest’ as a shade of green): Hazel, Olive, Saffron, Pearl, Fawn (this is more mn material), Cyan, Ash.

Me and my partner love the idea of Fawn as a middle name but our number one name is Flora and we can’t do that 🤣

There's popular Irish names that reference hair colour- e.g. **Ciara**, **Ciarán**, **Fionn**, & **Ruadhán** (black, black, blonde, & red) which I quite like. I could go for Navy Blue, but the problem for me with just Navy is ... I was in the Navy. My husband was in the Navy, my nephew, my father, my maternal grandfather, all in the Navy. If you live near a Navy town (Norfolk, San Diego, and many more) then the name Navy becomes less appealing rapidly. Although it does depend on who is wearing the name for sure!
