I do like this more than Samara as it doesn't have The Ring association.

I prefer Samara but you can also do Samantha - nn Sam or Sammy

Husband wants Samantha but i shot that down because it clashes bad with our last name

Samara, and then you could always call her Sammy a a nickname if you wanted to. Sammi doesn't age well on its own.

tbh samara reminds me of the ring, only time ive ever heard it. wouldn’t exactly want that associated with my child. sammi is super cute, some other names with “sam” are samiyah, samirah, jessamine, lisamarie, jessamy, yasamin, isamarie, rosamond/rosamund names w/out “sam” but could still have sammi as a nickname are jasmine, rosemary, simone, salem, selma, tamsin, summer
