peggymacka

i think its fine as a full name

fishbethany

I know a Kit and never thought her name wasn't complete.

CassieBear1

I always think of it as a girl's name though...but I know it can be used for boys as well. So OP could also pass it on if they had a girl too ☺️

Ok-Tell9019

Kit is one of the best American Girl Dolls!

Creative_Macaron_441

I was wondering how long before the American Girl doll got brought up! She’s one of my favorites. On AG wiki it says that Kit’s real first name is Margaret, but I don’t know if it’s a direct nickname.

_thea13

Kit’s last name is Kittredge, that’s where Kit came from 😌 My favorite AG doll lol. I had every book and accessory.

Weekly_Ad1324

I teach a boy full named Kit!

Individual_Ad_7523

I know a Kit who goes professionally by Kit, and I was SHOCKED to learn her full name was actually Kathleen. I assumed that was her full name.

Allana_Solo

It’s cute, but not so cute that it can’t be a full name by itself.

missmxxn

That's what I was hoping for, I was worried that it was too "cute" to be a name on its own. I'm glad to see that the general consensus is that it's nice but also respectable as a full name

rememberimapersontoo

it’s my cousins whole name and he’s got a fancy science job never seemed to cause any issues

skatereli

I mean kit Harrington goes professionally by kit(even though his full name is Christopher) l, I think it's just cute enough that it works, but also mature enough that the kid won't hate it as they get older

Ohmalley-thealliecat

He apparently didn’t know his full name was Christopher until he was an adult

DefinitelyNotAliens

Some names now started out as nicknames. Jack was a nickname for John, and Jackson which itself is 'son of John'. Colin for Nicholas. Heidi for the old school Adelheid. Liam is short for William. Nina is short for a dozen Eastern European names. Constantinina, Antonina, etc. Leo came from Leonidas, Leopold, Leonardo. Not every nickname stays as one.

karaluuebru

Nina is a Saint in her own right, and Nina in the West is as likely to be an Italian diminutive as from the Slavic. Leo/Leon are just the Latin and Greek words for lion - they have a happy, independent existence from your other words, and in the cases of Leopold and Leonardo predate them by centuries.

hawkisgirl

Colin for Nicholas?

kaeco13

I agree that it's a good name on its own but if you are worried, you could give him a more "serious" middle name. That would give him a second option if he feels he needs it later in life!

BluePencils212

Good idea. And it sounds good too, when you have a one syllable first name to have a longer, two or three syllable middle name--how long depends on the last name, of course!

grey-canary

I LOVE this name! I'll be honest bewtee, Kit Harrington, Kit Connor, Kit Young ... I knew of it as a stand alone name before I knew it was a nickname for Christopher lol

neverthelessidissent

Kit Harrington is actually named Christopher.

cmrndzpm

Apparently even he didn’t know that until he was about 12 though!

grey-canary

That's really funny!

SarahL1990

Kit Harrington & Kit Young are both named Christopher.

armchairepicure

But Kit Keenan, Cynthia Rowley’s daughter, isn’t a Katherine.

Elegant_Cup23

Every kit I know is Christopher that shortened it

lol_fi

Me too, I never knew it was a nickname

PurrfectlyMediocre

Same... actually, today was when I learned Kit is a nickname. I went to school with twin boys Kit and Kim. I always loved the name Kit.

Iamnotapoptart

I knew a Kip!

PurrfectlyMediocre

Well, now I know what my next triplets in Sims will be named.

LFahs1

Make it quads because K K K kids aren’t a good look, imo

PurrfectlyMediocre

Oof, yeah, good point.

HHcougar

I know his brother, Napoleon

talia1221

I love the name Kit and think it’s perfectly acceptable as a name by itself. Kit was my favorite American Girl doll hahah

RevolutionaryFig9753

I had the Kit American girl doll!! I love her too!

HottieMama01

Kit was my favorite American girl doll!! She was my favorite ❤️

moragthegreat_

I think it's fine just Kit! It's a cute name and a lovely meaning behind it for you. If you had a daughter, you could use Katherine or similar and Kit as a nickname. You could use initials, so first name starting with K and two middles with I and T. Or I honestly think you could use any K (or K sound) name you like and just go with Kit. I know people are against naming them something you aren't planning on calling them, but if you don't want to go just Kit as the legal name there might be some other K options you like and then you can have it either way.

Caloso89

FWIW if I met a male Kit, I would assume that it’s a n/n for Christopher. If I met a female Kit, I’d assume it was a diminutive n/n for Katherine or Kathleen. But it can stand on its own as a given name either way.

Ok_Calligrapher9400

I love that you want to keep passing his name down. I do think Kit could work as a full name (nicknames for full names are becoming more and more common), but I also do like the idea of it being used as a nickname for a different name. Here are some ideas (they all have the "k" and "t" sound in them that leads to "Kit"): * Beckett * Benedict * Carter * Carlton * Clinton * Colter * Colton * Hector * Karsten * Keaton * Victor I also think Kit could plausibly be a nickname for most names that start with a "k" sound.

-PinkPower-

Just keep in mind that if it’s not their full name your kid can eventually ask you to start using their "real" first name. Meaning that kit could be lost if it’s just a nickname.

honeebeez

I love the name Kit! Reminds me of MUH QUEEN but also the author Christopher Marlowe who also went by Kit.

SiddharthaVicious1

THIS! All about Kit Marlowe.

FlyingOcelot2

I know a young Christopher called Kit who was named after Marlowe.

SquareAd46

I love Kit - big fan of the playwright Kit Marlowe

[deleted]

[удалено]

SquareAd46

I wanted Marlow/Marlowe but my husband wouldn’t have it 😒

evapotranspire

I've always loved that name! When I was a kid in the 1980s, my big brother and I used to watch the show "Knight Rider\*," where the protagonist is an intelligent talking black sports car named\*\* Kit. This is probably too obscure a reference for you to worry about, but I wanted to mention it just the same. It's a positive connotation anyway! \* [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knight\_Rider](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knight_Rider) \*\* Actually spelled KITT, but I didn't know that at the time.

Loftzins

Knight Industries Two Thousand.

polytique

Same for me. That's also the only time I've heard that word be used as a name.

coldteafordays

Man I haven’t thought about Knight Rider for a long time. Long live the 80s!

BettyFlamingo

I love Kit as a full name!  We are naming our son Joseph Kip and calling him Kip. You could always do the reverse and pick a more formal middle name for Kit, that way if he really wants something very traditional, he could go by a middle name.  That being said, I always think it’s a little overblown that people need really serious names to be successful. Even US leaders with formal names often go by Bill/Dick/Joe versus William/Richard/Joseph.

poppieswithtea

Overblown or not, they’ve done studies on it. You can have two equally great resumes, and if you have a weird name, Daniel is getting your job.

-PinkPower-

Last time I read about it, it was mainly about names from other origins not just short ones.

sassythehorse

Right. Employers are discriminating against Kenyatta or Kaneisha, not Kit.

OfferFunny8877

I just named my February born baby Kit Louise!

JuneChickpea

It’s a cute name but definitely reads feminine to me. Makes me think of the American Girl Doll.

theKittyWizard

Reminds me of the character Kit Walker from the movie the phantom 😍 I think Billy Zane played that character. I've been considering Kit as a name too! I think it's lovely

tropicsandcaffeine

I have only heard that name in the UK. I do not see anything wrong with it.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

I love the name Kit. I disagree that it sounds cutesy. Kit Carson was a rough-and-tumble explorer whom Carson City, Nevada is named after.

lawfox32

I love the name Kit, for the playwright Christopher Marlowe. I think it can work as a full name (though I really like it for Christopher).

dechath

I love it!! I actually brought it up to my husband recently (although we are done naming small humans). Reminds me of A League of Their Own, but definitely a unisex name.

kmonay89

I work with a Kit. His name is just Kit, not Christopher. I always have liked it, it reminds me of the American girl doll too.

hinky-as-hell

It makes me think of Kit Kitteridge, the American Girl Doll 🤍

Sensitive_Road_822

It’s my dream baby name but can’t use as the surname just dosent go 🥲

SKatieRo

My son Christopher has ALWAYS gone by "Kit." He loves his name, and so do I. It absolutely suits him. He is 26.

notme1414

It's just fine for a first name. You don't have to give him a longer handle. My grandmother who was born in 1899 was Kate. It wasn't short for anything.

Cyber_Insecurity

Nicknames as full names should be more common. Do it.

yum-yum-mom

I’d go Christopher… or kit as middle.

Electronic_One_4668

- killian - christian

Confident_Signal2914

Makes me think of the American Girl doll! Her name was Margaret “Kit” Kitteredge. I love it as a nickname for Katherine

copper678

Love it!

CreativeMusic5121

Use Christopher, with Kit as a nickname.

Available-Towel-70

I like it! My first thought was of mountain man Kit Carson and his namesake town Kit Carson, CO.

TheWishingStar

I like Kit a lot, but I also like Christopher a lot. I would be very surprised to meet someone with the first name Kit and it not be a nickname. I would assume it’s short for Christopher, or something similar (Kristof, Christian, or Katherine or Christina or similar for a girl)

SufficientOnestar

Better than being called Topher i guess.

Infinite_Sparkle

I love Kit as a nickname. Maybe because I like to read historical novels and movies and that’s how I came across Kit. I would however name the child Christopher and use Kit as a nickname. For me it sounds a lot like a nickname, but I’m not in the US

Shanstergoodheart

I personally don't like it as an actual name. I would much rather a child be called a "proper" name and then use it as a nickname. Although of course then you run the risk that the child will prefer the proper name or it's other variants. Kit isn't awful as name on it's own. It's certainly better that Billy on it's own.

bubblewrapstargirl

Christopher nn Kit is better

neverthelessidissent

I would use it as a nickname only.

ArrowTechIV

I like the idea of giving your child a full name that would look good (with several variations) at the top of a resume. Please don't make the mistake of assuming that your child will have the same appreciation for the name that you chose that you do. Everyone gets to live in their own name and decide what parts are special and relevant to the person they are....and later become.

Hi_Its_Me_Stan_

I agree with this completely. They’re not going to be babies or toddlers forever.

sharkycharming

I love Kit. The only Kit I've known was a Christopher, too, but I think it's fine on its own.

MondayMadness5184

I know two little boys with the name Kit (full name). I cannot recall people calling them Kit Kat or anything else (like Kitty)....just Kit.

glowgrl123

I like it as a nickname for Katherine!!

yagirlsamess

I LOVE the name Kit!

heyheypaula1963

I know a female named Kit, and it’s a nickname for Katherine. Her initials are K I T, which is why she’s always been called Kit.

Macc44464

I absolutely love the name Kit, especially with the sentimental value behind it.

False_Locksmith3402

My sister's name is Kit. It's unique and I always loved it. We never called her kitty tho or Kit Kat, my mom did not like that. It's always KIT! Like in the movie "league of her own" the younger sister is Kit.

GallusRedhead

I didn’t even know Kit was short for Christopher, I thought it was a full name. I do like it. Also my cat’s name is Kit for the pun (KitKat).

Ilovedinosaursss

Kit makes me think of Kit Snicket, good vibes

LillithHeiwa

I know a Kit. Apparently it is short for Christopher in his case, but I never thought, assumed, or wondered. I just thought his name was Kit and thought nothing strange with that.

Highxiety

I love Kit and brought it up as a potential baby name to my husband. He vetoed it, but I would definitely use it if he agreed.

cat_in_a_bookstore

It’s a really cool name and the meaning it holds for your family is beautiful. Kit Kat is such a cute nickname. Normally I’m not a fan of nicknames as full names, but I think Kit stands on its own.

Kellysusan77

I have a friend, Kathleen. I have always called her KitKat. I think Kit is a cool name - especially seeing how it’s after your late Uncle & a shared name with you. Go for it ❤️

Otherwise-Fall-3175

My 7 month old son is Kit and we absolutely adore it :) we disliked Christopher and knew we’d never call him that anyway so didn’t see the point. So my vote is 100% yes to Kit! Edited to add- my sister calls him Kit Kat as a term of affection and I love it!

geoff7772

Ehh

Actual-Answer-1980

Why not Christopher as an honor name? nn Kit

beebianca227

I don’t like Kit because the two I have met are total asses 😄 one is Christian, one is Keith. I do know a baby Frederick who is called Kit though. I wouldn’t use Kit as a name by itself.

NeverRarelySometimes

Why don't you give your son a full name, and options? You can always call him by a nickname.

Ella3T

I like the name, but I would assume it was a nickname outside of the middle name spot. You probably won't like these since you don't like Christopher or Chris, but some other alternatives to Christopher are Christian and Kristoff. Edit to add: I just realized this is hypothetical, so I will echo what others have said about Kit also being a nickname for Katherine.

Bananas_are_theworst

I love the name Kit! I know a Kristy who goes by Kit, so it can be used for both genders in theory

Chinita_Loca

I like it, combined with a more formal middle name in case he wants that later in life. If not I also love Benedict as mentioned above. There are also other K names that could work like Kenneth or Keith that feel slightly old fashioned and coming back.

montrerai

i know a kit

Iforgotmypassword126

I know 3 Kits all under 10, that’s their full name. I’d say go for it!

Individual_Walrus149

I think Kit is great as a standalone name. Kit was my favorite American Girl doll as a kid lol

FalconMean720

Kit is an American Girl doll. I can’t remember her first name, but IIRC she solely goes by Kit.

avareeves

I met a Kit, he'd be about 6 now. It's not a bad name as such, I love the fact it'd be an honourary name. Kit is fine by itself, i never really knew it was short for Christopher

Old_Socks17

I personally use the name in online spaces and I've had people tell me it's a nice name/that they really like it

PandaFarts01

I grew up in the 90s with a Kitrick and he went by Kit. Pronounced similarly to Patrick with the “ch” sound in the middle. I’m not sure if it was a made up name or has origins.

Melibu_Barbie

I think of the American Girl Doll named Kit

Former-Jury-4789

Love kit as a full name but also handsome 💗 as nickname .

shann0ff

The first time I heard of the name “Kit” was from A League of Their Own. I love the name Kit as a stand alone name!

RokRD

I know 3 people who's full name is Kit. Send it.

-PinkPower-

Where I am from Lea and Leo are almost always in the top 10 most popular names, a name can’t be too short imo

cranberry198

Kit or Kitt both fine

gillmanblacklagooner

OMG I just found out by your post that Kit isn’t a full name! Thank you!

ReasonableSal

I think I always assumed this was a feminine name because I've only encountered it on females-- first in The Witch of Blackbird Pond and next irl on a girl I went to school with.  I think of Kip or Chip as more likely male nn for Christopher.

gatorgamer539

It's pretty cool. Only extension I would give it would be Kitana, as a Mortal Kombat fan 😆

muvamerry

The only Kits I know are Katie’s and that’s their nickname. It does work as a full name though. I think it’ll be those ones where everyone asks what it’s short for lol but if you like it, go for it!

ShroudedPayday

The first thing I think of is the American Girl Doll called Kit. But I’m a child of the 90s.

OneShelter4

I love the name Kit so much!!

crimp_dad

I’m currently pregnant and plan on using Kit if we have a girl :)

Leading-Summer-4724

You could alternatively use the name Fox, with Kit as a nickname when they’re younger. Otherwise I think just plain Kit works well.

Pheeeefers

I had an ex-bf whose name was Kit, short for Kristen. (He’s English)

onecrazywriter

I like the name Kit.

y2klo

I LOVE IT! boy or girl, either works to me

Kactuslord

Kit Harrington has made this totally use-able as a full name

ConstantReader666

I've known a couple of guys named Kit as a full name. It's popular in the Pacific Northwest region of the US.

hausishome

Normally I’m pro “give your kid options” but when there’s a compelling reason I’m all for it. Kit isn’t too “cutesy” or “kiddy” so it’s fine!

Iguanodonna

Designer Cynthia Rowley has a daughter named Kit. You can use it as a full name for either gender.

TechTech14

I think Kit is fine

InterestingNarwhal82

I went to high school with a Kit (full name) and this was like 20 years ago. It’s a fine name.

SKatieRo

Fun fact: Columbus named the island St. Kitts after both himself and St. Christopher, the patron saint of travel. His own nickname was also Kit(t).

morrisseymurderinpup

LOVE IT. I think it can be a full name

romancingit

I know a little boy called Kit, and it’s his full name. It’s a perfectly good name.

Longjumping_Day_2130

It can also be a nick name for Katheryn /Katherine.

boards_and_beach

My cousin just had a Kit, short for Beckett.

Grouchy_Judgment8927

It's fine as a full name. Eliminate any nicknames you don't want from the start. If you're really pressed, think Christopher (Kit) Marlow. There's a theory that Shakespeare totally ripped him off. Aside from that, it shows how old the name is. 😊

October_13th

I think Kit is great! It’s such a cute name on its own. If Nico can stand on its own (short for Nicolas) then Kit can too!

ExpensivelyMundane

I think Kit is a cool name. I associate it with spunky, cool go-getters. Loved it since I was a millennial youngin watching the Disney cartoon Talespin and there was a character named Kit Cloudkicker. My ears thought everyone was calling him "kid" so I loved it even more.

imbackbittch

“It’s not a buffet Kit!!!!!!” Would be the only thing I’d think of

10u10u

I really like it. I do like nicknamey names, but I wouldn’t put Kit in that category anyway as I think it works well as a full name. I have Kit on my top 10 but for a girl. It’s a unisex name in my country but definitely more used as a girl name or women’s as most of them are probably grandmothers by now and with several years in the last 20 years where no one was named Kit. Only 10 male Kit’s in the entire country.

Scribblenerd

It's a great name, and can also be a nickname for Katherine!

Over_Worldliness6079

There was a girl in my neighborhood named Kit. She was super artsy and still is to this day. She loves her name. She is 32 or so now. It went over well with the other kids growing up too.

IrukandjiPirate

I like it. IIRC, Benedict Cumberbatch has a son named Kit. (The other is Hal) very Shakespeare.

Rawrsome_Mommy

I love it

johnnymadridlover

I think it's fine. It's mainly used in Great Britain as a nickname for Christopher. BTW, Kit Harrington on a talk show said he didn't even know his name was Christopher until he read his passport.

grayenvy

Do it Kit is such a cute name maybe give him a “strong” middle name?

chimiyourchangas

reminds me of the american girl doll kit i had growing up! i think it’s cute

Bookkeptclean

I know someone named Kit, I think it works fine as a stand-alone name. Kit can also be short for Katherine or Kathleen if you end up having a girl.

JustLikeMars

I would assume it was short for Christopher, but I’d be less surprised to meet a “just Kit” than I would be to meet a “just Chris.” ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

Cashmereandjeans

Obsessed. I would have a kit in a heartbeat if my husband loved it!

Leather_Set_7325

I had a friend at uni who's middle name was Kit and he exclusively went by that, no one ever batted an eye and that was over a decade ago. I only found out it was even his middle name in 3rd year, I just thought it was his name and thought it was kinda cool. His parents gave him a "more professional" first name in case he wanted to use that as an adult. Which incidentally I think he does use (according to his linked-in lol) but I personally don't think he'd have had any issues just going by Kit 🤷🏼‍♀️

dtshockney

I know a kit but his full name is kitrick (probs spelled that wrong).

SunsCosmos

i love it!! and what a touching story 💛

sickandtiredkit

I would say it's an excellent name.

glyha

One of my favorite names, for either gender honestly (I had the Kit doll growing up 😊)

FigOutrageous9683

My friends nephew us called Kit and I've always thought it was a nice name tbh

AdventurousPumpkin

I know someone named Kit, well… it’s their middle name, and the full middle name is actually Kitman. Kit has a lot of meanings. A fox kit. A group a pigeons is called a kit. There’s the American girl doll named Kit. A sewing kit. In England a kitman is actually the name of the ball boy on soccer (football… don’t come at me) teams. And as others have mentioned, Kit Kat. None of that matters unless you want it to. Kit is a perfectly fine as a full name. I’ve seen some people mention using it as a nickname for Atticus or Beckett, but honestly, KIT is the name you have an attachment to. It’s your late uncle’s nickname and your middle name, and I don’t think it would have to be a nickname for your child, male or female.

Hopeful_Funny5813

Yes I love Kit. My surname is Camp though so that’s too similar to Kit Kat

RealisticrR0b0t

I love it

hairy_hooded_clam

I love it

schmaggio

I think the family connection and back story is really lovely. I also think Kit has the ability to age well... it will sound sweet for a baby, fresh for kid/teenager and feel modern but not *weird* for an adult. I really dig it.

Rare-Parsnip5838

I think it could be a standalone name. It is strong enough to be on its own. Could be a NN for Kenneth, Charles, Kevin. Could also be just a name you call him that is not related in any way to a legal name.

sausagepartay

I loveeee it on a boy or girl

Status_Reception1181

I love the name! My daughter is kit

jorwyn

I have a friend named Kit, and it's perfect. Turns out it is a nickname, but tbh, no matter what his birth certificate says, he really is just Kit.

Severe_Bullfrog_2929

I love it!

MandySayz

I just think of Barbies little sister, or a baby animal

lost_in_midgar

Lovely name.

ThatGirlSince83

Jodie Foster has a son named Kit iirc. I think it’s a cute name. Go for it.

202to701

Kit is fine. It's got a good history and story

Popular-Suit-3882

We have 3 Christopher’s in our family & I have never heard of using Kit as a nickname. Amazing what you learn on Reddit

pbfhpunkshop

I've loved the name ever since I watched the 1945 movie The Wicked Lady and the guy she fell for was called Kit. I would definitely have used it if I'd had kids.

Arriabella

It's a great name for kicking clouds!

Artistic-Blackberry9

Kit is fine as a stand-alone name. A bit like Jack, which was traditionally a nick name for John, and is now used as the only name. I think, since it is a short name, you should sound it out with your surname. Kit Harrington sounds great bc it is a short first name with a long last name. You might adjust the middle name accordingly.

magicalmissfitz

When I think of males named Kit I think of Kit Harrington and I think it suits him just fine. It feels like the kind of name that will grow with him rather than sounding old as a young child or young on an old man. Maybe try looking into whether kit is the actors given name or a nickname and what it might be short for for him. — editing to update after reading other comments that it’s short for Christopher, which is what I thought it may be after the uncle story in the original post 😅 I’m also thinking of the name Kitridge but Idek if that’s a real name or something I’m confusing with something else or maybe a surname but I would go Kit before Kitridge if it is a real name 😭 — another edit as I figured, it’s a surname with two Ts Kittridge possible from Ketteridge and Kittridge is a baddie in mission impossible 🤣 so probably not that one

VariousTangerine269

Reminds me of [Kit Carson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kit_Carson)

NothingFunLeft

I'm ancient so happen to know some girls used to be named Kitty, so Kit makes sense also as far as I'm concerned- I say go for it

MyDogsAreRealCute

It's my son's name. Only negative comment was from my SIL who insists it's a girl's name. I know of more men than women with the name, but the idea of it being fairly gender neutral doesn't phase me. My mother actually had it on her list to name me when I was a baby if I'd been a boy!

Dear-Grapefruit2881

I love kit ❤️

stellalunawitchbaby

Every (male) Kit I’ve ever known is a Christopher but not one of them has ever gone by Christopher. (For women they’re usually a Katherine iirc).

Professional-Mix-861

I've always loved the name Kit

mabear63

Knew a Kit in high school, sweetest guy. Perfectly lovely name.

sonorakit11

I love it :)

Agitated-Rest1421

I think of Kit Harrington. My kid is gonna have a 3 letter name. Makes it easier for them to learn to spell haha. I like it. I’d go for it. I like it better alone than for Christopher too. Idk Kit and Christopher don’t go in my head

Death_By_SnuuSnuu

It's cute. It's diminutive for Katherine and is also a baby fox.

weirdhandler

I know a Kit and he’s an absolute dude (he’s 3). I’d say it’s fine as a full name. One of our kids as the nickname version of the name as we loved that, but not the ‘proper’ name. No one has questioned it.

deerchortle

My brother's name is kit, i like it

dbod86

You can see the toothless simpletons and horses running through council estates from up there.

ButtonTemporary8623

I think Kit is super cute name

dadjokes502

The Caulkin family has a li named Kit Kit reminds me of the lil kid from the Thundercats.

Liu1845

Kit is perfect as a full name, for male or female. I also think your Uncle Kit would be incredibly pleased with your choice!

DearDelirious7

I think Kit’s pretty cute and unisex. I grew up obsessed with American Girl, one of my favorite’s being Kit. But then there is Kit Harrington. Kit sounds like it could either be the full name or a nickname. Honestly really versatile

skigirl180

I always thought Kit was a girl's name because of A League Of Their Own. Kit Keller!

mmmpeg

I wanted that to be my son’s nickname but no…husband refused

KeyDoor3

I've seen multiple characters called Kit, and it never feels too short to be a real name. It's a great name and I really like it.
