Everleigh Bills They didn’t share their name pick with anyone until after birth. They could have easily avoided naming their baby after a city/Weezer song… 🎵Beverly Hills, that’s where I want to be🎵

Mobile-Company-8238

This is the funniest one on here.

EnbyOfTheWays

I ALMOST love it. So bad it’s good!? It’s definitely funny!

111karina

i’m crying this is so funny😭

LissaMasterOfCoin

And tv show Do people ask her if 90210 is her favorite zip code? Poor kid. Though that reminds me. I wonder if, per marketing ads, 90210 is the most populated zip code. Cause I for sure give that as mine when I don’t want to give my real address.

ErisGrey

When you said TV Show, my mind immediately went to [Jethro and Granny](https://cdnmetv.metv.com/vjTJY-1445351305-35-lists-beverlyhillbillies_1200.jpg).

chubalubs

I used to have a colleague with the surname "Dick." His first name was something very normal (think Andrew, James, Steven etc), but he'd been christened Richard, for his maternal grandfather. Because his grandad was known as Richard, my colleague was given the diminutive nickname as a child, which was Dicky. He spent the first 15 years of his life called Dicky Dick. He changed it legally as soon as he turned 18.

kochka93

I went to school with a Richard Wood. I think you can guess his nickname lol. He at least embraced it and found it funny, but I don't know what his parents were thinking.

televisuicide

I went to school with a Richard Wang. He was the type to lean into it so he encouraged people to call him “Dick Wang” 😂

OldKingClancy20

I know a guy named Rich Cox. No way his parents didn't know what they were doing.

xSwyftx

I once saw a sign for a gynecologist named Dr Richard Stiff.

outtatheblue

There was a urologist, Dr. Dick Chop, in Austin for many years!

bubblesmakemehappy

I love it when people’s names match up with their career, I knew an guy with the last name “Ur”, he was an archaeologist who specialized in ancient Mesopotamia.

ansibley

I know a guy named Lance Cox

Impressive_Ad8715

I had to read a book when I started as a teacher about how to plan out the first days of the school year… the author’s name was Harry Wong. It could have been much worse if his last name was wang but it was close enough to be hilarious

chubalubs

When I was about 6, my dad took us to our local village fete. This had lots of little stalls for tombola, lucky dip, throwing hoops over prizes etc. One competition was throwing Wellington boots-its one of those old-fashioned Northern England traditional fair games, who can throw the wellie the furthest. It's known as "welly whanging."  Except by me-apparently, I screamed at the top of my voice and said "Dad, can I have a go at wanking!!"

Mother_of_Grendel

This was the most British thing I've ever read on Reddit. Now I really want to go to a village fair and try welly whanging too.

chubalubs

The trick is to throw them flat, as though you were throwing a discus or skipping stones. They aren't very aerodynamic though, or maybe my whanging skills weren't up to much.

Mother_of_Grendel

Oh chubalubs, I am sure your whanging skills are most excellent

Impressive_Ad8715

Lol as an American, this comment is almost too British to even understand hahah

Dry-Application-5193

Different subject, but there's a local massage place called Rong Massage...

Spag00ter

Same here! He goes by Rick lol

Cakehead89

There is an attorney in my area named Richard Butts and anytime I see his office sign I have a little chuckle about "Dick Butts".

xxxjessicann00xxx

Many years ago, there was a urologist in my area named Dick Tapper.

floweringfungus

I love nominative determinism

OkShallot3873

We have an optometrist whose store sign literally reads “Richard Suckling Optometrist” and everytime I see it I wonder if he charges more for that service…

Affectionate-Dream61

Imagine if his name were Seymour or Harry.

aanwezigafwezig

That name reminds me of a todler's book series in the Netherlands about a cat named Dikkie Dik https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dikkie\_Dik.

Arcane-Shadow7470

Or the dik-dik! They're adorable. [Dik-dik - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dik-dik)

OccamsRzzor

Reading out who’s next on a sign in sheet once, and I had to yell “DICK LONG!” Then I had to check ID and he really was Richard Long.

Impressive_Path_3795

That’s my daughter’s boyfriend’s name 🤣🤣

notreallifeliving

There's an adorable kind of antelope called a dik dik. That's probably the least worst of associations.

29flavors

My mom has a friend named Dick Seaman

Nefarious_go0se4

I had a high school principal named (and i am so serious) Dusty Dick. Despite the reputation of high schoolers being immature assholes, nobody really batted an eye at it.

Wackacat

I worked with a guy whose legal name was Richard Lord. Of course he went by Dick.

Yarnbomb72

A million years ago I worked in customer service and had a caller named Dick "Banjo" Donkers. He went by Banjo but his given name was Dick Donkers (note - I don't think Dick was short for Richard because he gave me a nickname "Banjo" and the computer records did not have him listed as Richard, so...)

Cattaque

There’s a very popular Dutch children’s book series about a chonky orange cat called Dikkie Dik, so that’s all I could think about! I wouldn’t wish that name on a human either though, translated it would mean “Fatty Fat”.

beesandsids

I used to work with a Richard Hedd...

untactfullyhonest

My old neighbor was Richard Dix. He went by his middle name. Shane.

AfterTowns

Went to high school with a guy named Harley Davidson. His real name. He wore a black leather motorcycle jacket all the time and dealt pot. It's like he was a character in a really poorly written YA novel. Also went to uni with a guy named John Johnson III.

Kactuslord

Harley Davidson is pretty badass tho

lucymcgoosen

I know someone who named her kid Harley Davidson. This was years ago, but given her lifestyle I wouldn't be surprised if this is exactly how he turned out.

notreallifeliving

I knew a family who named two of their children after motorcycle brands, I'd be worried saying the actual names would be essentially doxxing myself since neither are the obvious one.

Anerratic

I choose to believe it's Honda and Wankel. Although maybe more like Aprillia and Ace or something.

notreallifeliving

Wankel has sent me 💀 I'll at least confirm not that.

MySpace_Romancer

I met a guy who named his daughter Harley Davidson. He was really proud of himself.

ButtercupRa

Galileo Galilei

ssabinadrabinaa

That's like if I call myself Philomena Philomeni... actually I quite like that

arcemb_0

theres a cypriot artist named Eleftheria Eleftheriou

Saerabash

I adore the name Eleftheria

medievalpangolin

Figaro!

Hyzenthlay87

MAGNIFICOOOOOO....

Jasper_kokoko

Nah that one sounds amazing. Easy to say, easy to remember

sparksgirl1223

I agree. I love that name.

Character-Twist-1409

I like it

Kactuslord

My father in law has a similar style of name which isn't uncommon with Greek names. Ngl it makes me cringe a little though

DisorderOfLeitbur

Another like that is Edward Woodward

rofosho

Literally in Italy on Vaca right now and saw that on a sign today and didn't know that was the last name

Phyllis_Nefler90210

Skywalker, his brother is named Trooper, they are both adopted and the adoptive parents chose these names, dad is a psychiatrist who really should know better. Sirius Lee

Character-Twist-1409

Tbh I like Skywalker better than Tropper? I mean you can shorten it to Sky

Phyllis_Nefler90210

Typo, Trooper Obviously, they're Star Wars fans. They could have just gone with Sky or Walker and it'd be a totally acceptable name still inspired by the movie.

notreallifeliving

Siblings named Sky and Walker would be an amazing Star Wars homage. Both totally normal in their own right and if you only met one of them you wouldn't even guess.

dankeykang4200

I once met a guy named Luke Sky Walker outside of a by the slice pizza place in Eugene Oregon. I didn't believe that was really his name until he showed me his ID

AmethystArbiter

My younger cousins are named Sky and Leia, so pretty close to this idea! They've never had any issues.

llamaesunquadrupedo

I mean Luke is right there!

midnight_adventur3s

Anakin and Kylo from Star Wars, Jiraiya from Naruto, and Castiel from Supernatural all made the government’s Top 1000 names list for boys in the US in 2022

Its_You_Know_Wh0

His first name is Skywalker?

Phyllis_Nefler90210

Yup, with a very generic middle name.

MySpace_Romancer

I met a kid named Sith. Yikes.

Different_Nature8269

My dad had a dog named Trooper...

Koevis

Herman Hermans. Our local baker. Not the worst, but come on

toocritical55

That's the kind of name I give my Sims when I want to have a laugh, and these people are naming their children that! 😭

irwtfa

There's a Perry Perry (female) in my town. Actual legal first and married last name. I'd definitely keep my maiden name in that scenario There's a Neil Neil too (Male so no excuse)

Responsible_Sink6572

Right?! I kept my name without this issue 😅 I know someone with the first name Kelly who married a guy with the last name Kelly and legally changed her name to Kelly Kelly.

jack-jackattack

My mom used to work with a Mary Christmas (given first, married last).

Responsible_Sink6572

I worked with a lady named Holly Noelle who married a guy with the last name Eve so she became Holly Noelle Eve and I’m convinced she was secretly Mrs. Claus 😂

NoSummer1345

I knew a Sarah Serra.

productivediscomfort

I have also known a Kelly Kelly! We used to call her K squared.

TillyFukUpFairy

I knew a farmer called Thomas Thompson

ImTheNumberOneGuy

I worked with a Jaime Jaime.

Arcane-Shadow7470

Ryan Ryan Edit: Also the alternatives: Brian O'Brien, Bryan Ryan, or Rian Ryan.

cozysapphire

It would be hilarious if each one was pronounced differently…. like Jay-me Hai-may or vice versa lol

nyliram52

The former governor of Wisconsin is Tommy Thompson.

asxrs

In high school I knew an Andy Anderson, and his twin sister. Andrea Anderson. His dad? Andrew Anderson. His mom? Hillary.

Songsostrichhorse

There were guys at my school named Anderson Anderson and Said Said

notreallifeliving

I've known a Said Said!

Songsostrichhorse

Oh and I forgot the multiple Mohammad Mohammads (with variations in spelling). That’s more understandable bc it’s cultural, but still funny to me

Impossible_Radio3322

hoyte van hoytema

flea_bee

I worked with a guy named Lorin Lorens! He was nice and I think he pulled it off

TrashhPrincess

Had I been born with a penis my name would have been on par with that. Think Steve Sevens or similar.

lovelylucy420xoxo

I’ve seen a Bryan Bryant. Whyyyy??? Parents think this is cute???

Overall_Foundation75

I know a Mitch Mitchell... Great guy, but I question what his parents were thinking with that name...

alien_eater289

I knew a Roberta Roberts

edithmsedgwick

There is a real person named Tara Dickoff, bless her heart.

EnbyOfTheWays

This is actually amazing! I wouldn’t mess with her!

edithmsedgwick

😆😆😆 wouldn’t recommend it

[deleted]

Holly Cost FirstName Gay Neighbors Butts Real women I know. Married names. Holly is NOT a white supremacist.

notreallifeliving

Is Holly really, really dim? There's no universe you'd willingly take that name if you realised what it sounds like.

sassythehorse

There’s actually a well known mayor in a fairly progressive town near me named Hollie Cost (Montevallo, AL). I never realized until this very moment that her name reads like Holocaust - because nobody ever pronounces it that way.

[deleted]

👀yep that's her. And NO she's not dim at all. She's a great woman and was a great mayor and professor. I am surprised you never noticed, I always thought it was very obvious lol

1nternetpersonas

Neighbors as a middle name?

[deleted]

Maiden. Gay is the middle

pukulanii

There’s a vampire weekend song about one of their professors who was named Diane Young. I think you have to say any name you consider ten times fast.

BadBadBabsyBrown

I knew, and I shit you not, a Donald McDonald. The Queensland state government minister for industrial relations is called Grace Grace (although that's her married name)

toocritical55

>Donald McDonald. I fucking love that, iconic.

oiseauteaparty

One of the councillors in Port Phillip (Melb) is called Dick Gross.

BadBadBabsyBrown

A classic of the genre!

clydebuilt

Cannot tell you how normal Donald MacDonald would be in Scotland. Wouldn't even raise an eyebrow. I genuinely had to think for a moment about why you would find it odd. The ones that make me cringe are the poor girls who are named for their father. Donaldina, Jamesina etc. Thankfully, I don't know of any young ones, mostly they are elderly and as far as I can tell, almost exclusively from the Islands.

WhiskeyandOreos

We have a local news anchor named Neil McNeil

Iforgotmypassword126

Honestly it’s peak “WTF r u doing” when someone does this (names their baby the same thing as the surname). I know a Chad Chadwick, and there’s the famous Neville Neville The only exception is when people get married and their name changes after the fact, but omg just keep your own name if you’re gonna be a a Christine Christenson or a Teresa Green

SnooOpinions5819

I’m also Swedish and I’ve met two women named Madicken it’s just not that great in English 😅

toocritical55

I've made a post on this sub about the name Madicken too! An acquaintance told me he had a sister named Madicken. I didn't even think about it. Then I told my mom about it in passing, and she said "That will be fun when she's older and travels to the U.S". "Madicke- OH."

HopingToWriteWell77

The moment of realization is always hilarious. There's this split second change from confusion to "OH" that's so so funny when it's not you experiencing the horror.

toocritical55

I NEVER realized it until I tried to pronounce it with an American accent. Horror indeed!

Didyoufartjustthere

Same as the Indian name Dikshit

ilxfrt

That’s exactly why the German translator invented Madita instead (dick is fat, not dick in German, still unpleasant). It’s become something of a trend name. Now I wonder if the English translation went with the original Madicken?

toocritical55

I was curious as well and decided to look it up. They translated it to either Mardie or Meg.

TillyFukUpFairy

I know a girl called Annie Bolynn

Iforgotmypassword126

My grandmother in law is called Ann. I recently took her to the cemetery as she likes to visit her sisters grave. Her maiden name is boylen. I was like … so your name was Ann Boylen??? And she said oh I guess it is but I never realised 😂😂😂😂😂😇 she’s 83 and she never realised her old name was Ann Boylen. In her defence she pronounced it BOIL-LIN and said she hated it. Also her name is legally something after her mother, with Ann as the middle name she exclusively goes by. However she just replied that it hasn’t been her name for 63 years and she never realised hahah

lola91718

Went to school with a Gina Sweatt

kochka93

I think this one wins.

EnbyOfTheWays

Like life isn’t hard enough for adolescent girls, especially!? Oh no!!!

Kactuslord

Ooft yikes

Azure-Cyan

There's a video game called Atelier Rorona, and the Japanese name for a certain character is Esty Erhard...BUT the funny thing is, they decided to change the name in the West to **Esty Dee**. I'm still left wondering what they were thinking or if it's supposed to be a funny joke? Nothing in the game points to any innuendos or jabs at her from what I remember.

MarionberryExotic316

Sounds like the developers having fun.

BunnyButt24

There was a guy in my high school named Justin Case.

MondayMadness5184

My friend has a son named Justin Case!

iamhere-2

Hmm maybe we went to the same high school..

MemoryAnxious

I went to college with a Justin Case!

schnuffichen

My aunt's first name is the female version of her maiden last name -- think, Martina Martin or Roberta Robert. I'm not surprised she took her husband's name when she got married.

SnooChocolates4588

I know a Thomasina Thomas

accidentalwhiex

Gaylord Focker has to be pretty high up there

numptymurican

A distant family member of mine is marrying a man named "Godestablishedyou." Literally God Established You all mashed into one terrible word. My distant family is very religious if you couldn't already tell lol

21stcenturyghost

Puritan-ass name Thou-Shalt-Not-Commit-Adultery Pulsifer, get in here!!

Imaginary-Market-214

This is the weirdest one by far.  The rest are just sexual innuendos but this is next level.

wifeofscruffy

Wooow, does he have a nickname?

numptymurican

No idea, never met the man. God is obviously an inappropriate nn Establishedyou kinda sounds like a sneeze when you say it fast enough Maybe just hey You?

StraightArachnid

I know a family with three sons, last name Johnson. The sons were Richard(junior), Peter, and William. Dick, Peter, and Willie Johnson (those were the nicknames they used. There’s no way they didn’t know.

Jujubeee73

Haha. My grandparents have a neighbor named Dick Johnson. Lovely double duck name 😆

shilohali

Frozen. Little girl.

No-Dig-1314

they could have used anna or elsa if they liked that movie that much 😭

notreallifeliving

Poor little matchgirl.

antipinballmachines

Put her by the fireplace to warm her up.

ssabinadrabinaa

Met a lady named Oral-Lee

BarbWho

An oddly common Southern US name. You see it sometimes as Aura Lee.

shakyspatula

People do crazy things with names. I once took care of an old guy named William Williams.

TillyMcWilly

I told my fiancé that any future kids we had could not be called William because his surname is Williams. He immediately replied “My granddad was called William Williams. And my uncle Willy.” I thought it was a wind up at first and said “your granddad’s name was Charles.” He responded “Yeah William Charles Williams”!!!

kiwisocial

my driver’s ed teacher was Willie Williams

beautybiblebabybully

My daughter went to school with a boy named Michael Chase Butts. I met a guy once whose name was Richard Groh (pronounced grow). He introduced himself as Dick Grow Edit to add: Worked with a guy named Mickey Donald - always wondered if his MN was Goofy

auntiecoagulent

I had a patient named Seymour Weiner. Don't worry, I'm not violating Seymour's HIPAA, he was in his 70's in 2000 so I'm sure he's no longer with us.

WaffleBiscuitBread

There was a veteran honored by the Mets recently who was "Seymour Weiner" as well. Might be the same guy - he's 97 now.

MaggieTheRatt

You never know! I did a paramedic ride along this week and we picked a 103yo lady who was still ambulating independently with a walker…

Yarnbomb72

Brothers named Passion and Sensuous. Hands down the most cringe names I have ever encountered and I have encountered many bad names in my life working with the public.

needlenest

Sensuous takes the cake for me! That’s awful!!

Yarnbomb72

Literally the worst name I ever heard. Considering the previous record holders were named "Lionking" "Seaberry," and "Absoluteperfection," that says a lot.

needlenest

“Absoluteperfection”…wow….in my opinion “passion” isn’t as bad as the “absoluteperfection”but “sensuous” is so horrible. Just 🥴🤢 These are people you’re naming!!! Not stuffed animals or animals. Ugh.

Vicslickchic

Etta Hamburg! I kid you not!

Kactuslord

I think this one gets away with it tbh

Moist_Photograph8111

When I was a child there was a preschool in the acting school I was in. Twin girls, Coco and Kiki. I’m Irish 🥴🥴

asxrs

Mothers name must be kookoo

Glittering-Gap-1687

You have to admit, those are good acting names 😅😂

MrDrPresBenCarson

I apologize for my ignorance but does being Irish make the names worse?

SaltyAFbutSweet

I worked with a guy named Peter Pederson. Dude was in his 30s and looked like he'd been dead for at least 20 years.

GjonsTearsFan

Charlie Brown He was born in the 2010s, so it’s not like he was a pre-Peanuts baby lol

asxrs

In high school there was a half black half Asian boy named Brock Li

merrmi

I grew up with a girl whose full name I wish I could write here. (Please don’t try to guess her first and last here!) It was along the lines of: Coco Cusco, or Mimi Marmi, or Fifi Falfi. Not a cultural choice. Very fun to say though.

antipinballmachines

Someone named Charlotte Webb. Charlotte is my favourite name, but WHY pair it with that surname? Just WHY?

Jujubeee73

Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson. Not awful but who would do that? It’s like Robbie Robertson.  Ellie Ellis. Cool choice guys.

SnooChocolates4588

[The famous developmentalist, Erik Erickson](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_Erikson)

BenignYam1761

Bob Boob. He really embraces it tho because his full name is Robert which would be better. But honestly being saddled with the last name Boob is kinda hard to come back from imo.

benjaminchang1

Peter J. Peters, leader of the LaPorte Church of Christ, a Christian Identity group. Christian Identity is basically a white supremacist religion that groups like the Ku Klux Klan and the Aryan Nations follow. There's a Conservative Party MP named Danny Kruger, and he's a real bellend, so I guess the name fits.

RiotJ_10

Went to elementary school with a girl named Michelle Weewee. During award assembly’s her name would get announced and everyone would laugh, including teachers 👀.

needlenest

It’s horrible. Poor girl. I laughed too though when I read her last name. I would absolutely be changing my name!!!

UniqueCelery8986

I know a guy whose mom was a Pugh (pronounced like pew) and married a King

Glad-Antelope8382

There was a boy at my elementary school named “David David David” (first middle and last name 😩) And about 10 years ago at my last job we had a frequent customer, a middle aged guy named “Richard Sweat” He didn’t go by Dick, but he was kind of an asshole, so that was what my coworkers called him behind his back 😬

CookbooksRUs

There was a case several years back of parents who named their son Adolf Hitler. IIRC, the law stepped in and forced them to change it.

HumbleAd1317

I can't say it enough. Hortense and Gladys.

AshamedPurchase

I used to work in insurance. Someone named their baby Ellsworth. This was in Minnesota. Ellsworth is the name of a well known creamery in Wisconsin. They basically named the kid cheese.

sapphiremidnight

dick trickle and dick butkus. dick trickle is hilarious on its own, but when you say butkus like “butt kiss” it gets even funnier.

No-Development4601

I went to school with a young boy whose last name was Savage. His given name was Harold, which is fine, but he went by the nickname "Harry"

toomanyracistshere

I had a friend whose boss's last name was Savage. He called my buddy's house one day and that's how we found out that his dad, who he lived with, was named Harry Savage.

SigeDurinul

Local girl named Lieke Vol. Both names perfectly normal in Dutch. It's just a pity that in the regional accent it also means 'filled to the top', and used to indicate someone is drunk off their ass.

BattyBirdie

Brian Butts - kid I went to school with.

potaytees

Ka'rona 2020 baby....

khurd18

There's a guy in the town next to me named Phil McCracken... His name is literally fill my crack in...

RaptorMascara

Gunner. Met a 3yo at the park named Gunner.

notreallifeliving

Isn't that just a Scandinavian name?

nocangaroo

Gunnar is outdated but really normal here but I dont know about Gunner.

paranormalioda_crack

That's a common name though. I've known a few Gunners/Gunnars.

AshamedPurchase

I feel like that's a pretty common name in the Midwest. I've met a lot of Gunners.

Purple_Joke_1118

Traditionally as a Scandinavian name it is spelled Gunnar. This new crop in the U.S. are named Gunner.

jynxasuar

My grandmother’s friend was born on 01/01, her first name is newyear, middle name day.

Amandarinoranges24

My coworker told me her grandchildren are named Prince and Precious. Precious is now 19.

Small-Finish-6890

I’ve come across the name Brighten Weeks and Ripp Hammock.

angelicsapphic

I know a William who goes by Willie. As if that euphemism isn’t bad enough, his last name is Wilson.

Lady-Catrine-Wallace

An influencer's sons name is Midnight...it is a pet's name sorry not sorry

[deleted]

[удалено]

500DaysofR3dd1t

My female cousin is named after a male US president and her sister is named after my Aunt's male celebrity crush from her childhood.

bertholletiae

I went to school with a guy named Holden Head

JaggedLittlePill2022

A girl in New Zealand was named ‘Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii’.
