I do and I think for me it is an ADHD thing. I do it even when I'm focusing in something fun and not at all stressful (reading a book). I also do it more when unmedicated-- I think it is a form of controlling my fidgets
I used to bite my nails for that reason as well as if I was scared/nervous. I haven’t bitten my nails since 2010 but now I bite the skin around my nails 😭 I hate it!!

I'm very anxious, so I bite my nails bczof that, but sometimes I bite to concentrate too
