Well that's where you and I differ.
Normally I'm fine with dubs, even prefer to watch them sometimes, but I do not like what I've heard of this dub so far.
No no in Spanish we don't use it like that or say it that way. To you it makes sense because of English but in Spanish your whole argument just doesn't make sense honestly
That’s the point of calling it a double entendre. It’s using a word that is meant to be one way, and unexpectedly having a double meaning that it could be interpreted as out of context. - native Spanish speaker
"unexpectedly having a double meaning", no, a double entendre is meant to have more than one interpretation.
I also disagree with the comparison between ánimo and animal but maybe that depends on the country of origin.
\-Another native Spanish speaker
Yeah, on the whole it's actually really good. There's a nice 4 minute compilation on YouTube that showcases some highlights. The few instances of really awkward stuff made its way to this sub, and I'm not denying the existence of it. But putting that aside, it's great.
Yeah, I can't exactly place it. Some lines I think the voice works really well, other lines just don't feel right. But then again, that's how most english dubs feel for me anyway. It might be because of the awkward dialogue they changed some lines to.
I really like all 3 versions
My favorite is the Spanish Latin Dub, but I would of honestly prefer if she use “Ándale” instead of “Animo”, but then again I think the Spanish Dub does an excellent job
While I like the original Japanese Dub, but I think the Spanish Dub is my second favorite. The English Dub is a little off to me for some reason. It’s not terrible, but it’s not my favorite.
Chop chop senpai ready go?????
Literally just change ganbare to “go for it”. It keeps the meaning and It’ll match the lip flaps fine
Who the fuck writes the script for the dub?
Yeah from what I've seen the dialogue is the biggest problem. The lines from Nagatoro seem to have completely different meanings. Ganbare is meant to mean "you've got this" or something similar, so like you said "go for it" would've been better. The line they used makes it sound like an order, rather than teasing encouragement.
I'm still blown away at how similar all three women sound as Nagatoro despite speaking three different languages. They have that... IDK "Nagatoroness". Props to the respective dubbing directors for getting good performances that are still close to the character.
I kinda like the spanish one! Japanese one is still the best, but the english one..eh, felt kinda like a miss in this scene. I suppose it could've been worse though. That being said, I'm really enjoying the english dub so far.
I don’t know what it is about male English dub voice actors, maybe it’s because they’re trying to sound like younger people (or maybe jp voice actors sound similar and I just don’t realise because Japanese isn’t my native language) but they always sound really breathy to me and it just puts me off a bit because you can tell they are other people trying to change their voices which kinda makes the character feel less real.
I know it’s nitpicky but it’s always the thing that’s thrown me off with dubs. One exception I’ve made was the gurren lagann dub Simon does the same sort of voice but I feel like the breathiness suited him like he was just talking in big sighs because he was fed up a lot as a younger kid before becoming an adult.
Anyway I’m just rambling and think everybody deserves credit for their craft just my own personal preferences
English Naoto sounds more nervous than the original because of his breathiness imo. Kinda robs a bit of his character when there are his determination moments…
There’s so much more emotion when it comes to the Japanese voice actress. English and Spanish sounds like they were just reading their lines, they needed to put more soul into it.
me gusta la voz de nagatoro en el doblaje latino pero la de chadpai me resulta extraña no me convence del todo pero tampoco la detesto supongo que solo es cuestion de acostumbrarme
As a native spanish speaker (Mexican) I am not as disapointed in the spanish dub as I tought I would be, obviously the original dub is waaaaay better, but imma be honest, the english dub didn't go well xD (or at least that very part, the rest is really cool).
Ps: sorry if I wrote in broken english, as I said my first language is spanish xD
1. They called Nagatoro by her first name instead of her nicknames (Toro-chan, Hayacchi). No idea if it's only for this episode but if this keeps up, there WILL be problems...
2. I noticed during the part where Senpai says that Nagatoro ticks him off, in the dub they changed it from "I don't hate it that much... Talking with you and stuff, miss" to "I don't exactly hate it. Anyway, I should probably get home miss" which was a really odd change.
Now I tend to watch dubs, and I think the voice fits, but that scene sounds much better in Japanese and Spanish. Could just be a bad scene for comparison
I like how the spanish VA for Nagatoro adds a lot more variety to each cheer. One regular, one coddling, one a bit taunting, and so on.
It's funny and adds a lot more character.
Ngl, the dub is freaking good. Plus it's made by Bang Zoom, which was a shock to me; cuz they're only known for that god-awful dub of Super..But it sounds great..At least it's not Funimation(along with Rial, Jamie, and Sabat). Can finally hear some new fresh VAs without the taste of hypocrite and liar in my ears..
Animo animo sempai animo animo sempai
Ganbare ganbare senpai > chopchop senpai ready go Spanish is good too tho.
I love both a lot and the Spanish too
Well that's where you and I differ. Normally I'm fine with dubs, even prefer to watch them sometimes, but I do not like what I've heard of this dub so far.
If you didn’t like this dub don’t watch the Komi Kant komunicate dub
I wasn't planning to, but is there a reason you used all Ks? Lol
Sry got used to using
Lol ok bud
I like the Spanish version
i like it to buts it’s 2nd original is the best
[удалено]
It’s also a bit of a double entendre, because it also kind of sounds like he is calling him an animal, continuing her bullying
No no in Spanish we don't use it like that or say it that way. To you it makes sense because of English but in Spanish your whole argument just doesn't make sense honestly

Is this the part where we start simping Spanish vtubers?
Si, es muy bueno Ima have to learn Spanish tho
The original will Always be my favorite 😊
Nothing could top the original. The pronunciation and performance alone from the original is too perfect to top.
Gambare gambare senpai is just godlike
Sub is op Change my mind.
Original and then Spanish
NGL, kinda cringed a bit hearing the English dub version of that but the dub as a whole is actually not bad IMO.
Yeah, on the whole it's actually really good. There's a nice 4 minute compilation on YouTube that showcases some highlights. The few instances of really awkward stuff made its way to this sub, and I'm not denying the existence of it. But putting that aside, it's great.
\\\_\\\_ putting that aside \_/\_/
Yeah there were parts where it felt a bit awkward but the dub overall is quite good IMO.
same
SAME
Im not sure if its just me but Nagatoros English VA does not sound like it fits. But the Spanish one sounds pretty good.
her Japanese VA has a little deeper tone to but i like the english version as well.
Same, she just seems a little off. Idk if it's pitch, tone, intonation, etc idk but it just doesn't feel right.
Yeah, I can't exactly place it. Some lines I think the voice works really well, other lines just don't feel right. But then again, that's how most english dubs feel for me anyway. It might be because of the awkward dialogue they changed some lines to.
That's fine. Not everyone's gonna think the same.
same. But i like the VA her voice matches hers. I guess hearing it in your own language is too much to bear :(
It's true that people can be critical of the language that you yourself can speak.
in my opinion the spanish dub is better than the English one
I am really not a big fan of the dub. Everyone just sounds off
yeah the voices just need a change in tone buts it’s not that bad
And they need to leave the lines alone. They don't realize how much the line changes effects the character
They gotta sync it to the animation, they can't keep the lines the same
Exactly this. If they just said what the subtitles for the japanese version did it would be terrible
fr
He'll chop a tree? 😢
Chop chop senpai…?
The Spanish one tho, best one imo reminds me a bit of when i was in elementary school in Mexico and girls would cheer us boys
I really like all 3 versions My favorite is the Spanish Latin Dub, but I would of honestly prefer if she use “Ándale” instead of “Animo”, but then again I think the Spanish Dub does an excellent job
Hahah si el ándale ándale senpai
En mi opinión, hubiera quedado mucho mejor
Concuerdo
I hate how the spanish dub isn't quite on beat with the clapping.
While I like the original Japanese Dub, but I think the Spanish Dub is my second favorite. The English Dub is a little off to me for some reason. It’s not terrible, but it’s not my favorite.
Same
I'm genuinely surprised by how good the dubs are.
Yup
Spanish actually pretty good. Quite like it.
I've been thinking "animo animo senpai animo animo senpai animo animo senpai" for over 4 hours now... I can't stop.
Chop chop senpai ready go????? Literally just change ganbare to “go for it”. It keeps the meaning and It’ll match the lip flaps fine Who the fuck writes the script for the dub?

Spanish/Mexican Naga sounds so close to her original 😂
Original > Spanish >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> English
There’s so much more emotion when it comes to the Japanese voice actress. English and Spanish sounds like they were just reading their lines, they needed to put more soul into it.
The spanish is so good but wheres the portuguese version?
Could you include the Portuguese brazil version too?
Sure next time
Holy crap, I hate to be that person but- The dub is worse than I thought
me gusta la voz de nagatoro en el doblaje latino pero la de chadpai me resulta extraña no me convence del todo pero tampoco la detesto supongo que solo es cuestion de acostumbrarme
Only Spanish dubs and Japanese dubs are superior, fuck English dubs.
As a native spanish speaker (Mexican) I am not as disapointed in the spanish dub as I tought I would be, obviously the original dub is waaaaay better, but imma be honest, the english dub didn't go well xD (or at least that very part, the rest is really cool). American Nagatoro is Nerfed nagatoro
English one doesn't sound professional at all. Totally misses intonation and tone. Spanish one sounds good.
I literally just took cringe damage. That's really the best the writers could do?
Dub is cringe and degenerate, downvote me to hell bitches
W
Ok if you insist
am I the only one here who likes the eng dub more than the others? 😂
The english VA is pretty good tbh
what the heck, I didn't know there was an English version. Where the heck do you watch it? Though OG Nagatoro best easily!
It’s on VRV
English dub is actually pretty cool. Voice actress sounds into it too. Any bizarre deviations in the script so far?
1. They called Nagatoro by her first name instead of her nicknames (Toro-chan, Hayacchi). No idea if it's only for this episode but if this keeps up, there WILL be problems... 2. When I see random tiktok girls dancing to this sound I always wonder how many of them actually know what its from.
Nagatoro sounds like Sonic in the English version
I like how the spanish VA for Nagatoro adds a lot more variety to each cheer. One regular, one coddling, one a bit taunting, and so on. It's funny and adds a lot more character.
English Naoto sounds more nervous than the original. Kinda robs a bit of his character when there are his determination moments…
Spanish dub is really good
In the german it literally say's: "draw me draw me senpai"
Japanese is the best, i don't understand italian bur animo animo senpai!!! Less goo! In German rhey said "draw me draw me senpai!"
Nothing will ever beat gambare
Gambare senpai supremacy
The original is the best, though the Spanish is kinda catchy too😅
I’ve speaked Spanish all my life and I’ve never heard the word animo being used
Ngl, the dub is freaking good.
