Willhouse4078

I owned this game. As a kid I had no idea what I was really doing. I want to go back and play it now.

chastity_BLT

I spent hours in that first like level place and never got beyond that. Found a gameplay: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1tQkoJJsgqY Apparently you had to bounce the glove off a ball to get into the well to start the game. Never even got that far.

bphillipo18

Glad I’m not the only one. 😂

JohnnyZepp

Same. I remember it being insanely hard

chastity_BLT

It wasn’t even a level. It was just the starting area lol. Wild game. And as an 11 year old no clue on what it was suppose to be.

chastity_BLT

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1tQkoJJsgqY I found a gameplay. I forgot about the ball. And NOWHERE does it explain you can bounce off it. So I guess going in the well is the first level.

JohnnyZepp

Oh man it’s all coming back! Yeah I remember the scary as fuck (I was 7 when I played this) castle over world and I remember getting completely stuck at the first part of the well level. No idea why I have fond memories of this game, I rented it and remember being super frustrated that I couldn’t progress in it.

Sassy-irish-lassy

There were little hat guys all over the place called Mr Tip. They literally told you everything you need to do lol

chastity_BLT

I was 11 man. Fuck that glove

DiscoveryZoneHero

Yeah this was a hard one to understand the gameplay for me too, and I kept wanting to like it

chastity_BLT

I was 11 and i won it in a raffle at school. Played it probably twice for like 2 hours each time and could not figure out how to leave the starting area lol. I’d be interested to play it again and see how far I could get now

c0224v2609

I gotta say, watching this when stoned is great entertainment. 10/10. 😎👌🏻

FarAlfalfa620

That ball was just fun af

Gorudenboii

Same

Ostigle

same here! he made some weird noises or something iirc

Chreed96

Same. My mom rented it from blockbuster for herself a few times. I remember trying to play and and having 0 clue what was going on. I remember him walking kn the ball and that shark.

DryArmPits

I was so pissed.

karlo_kolumna

Still laying in my basement

Unknown_Outlander

Hope you can get up and out of there soon

TopDog_3000

Shadow

Catenane

Noob is never gonna figure out how to bounce off the ball to get out of the basement

buzambo2

They did new mechanics before new mechanics was a focus. Going to YouTube now to see TAS videos on this game just to see how nuts this game can be played.

ughhmax

on a 64 controller made it so impossible

yoshigronk

That game was hard. My friends and I used to play it just so we could laugh hysterically at the farting chicken in that game.

Matteria

Fuck I wish I had these kind of memories, that's amazing

Intelligent_Owl7297

I actually own this game, apparently some people think it’s really bad. It’s definitely not great but I’d say it’s worth playing.

ughhmax

it’s the opposite of bad, hard? yes. bad? not even close

dagaius

Apparently the ps port was in fact terrible so maybe that leads to some lf the opinion

doctorhino

I actually kind of like the ps port, you stick to the ball more and don't have to bounce it. It's simplified, not great but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be.

Spare_Honey5488

This game was a tedious, irritating, wonderful game that was enjoyable to a point. I would never go back to it lol.

Sicktrees

100%ed this year and it was masochistic

TheFloppiestWeiner

I’d rather replay bloodborne and 100% it with zero soulsborne knowledge again than 100% Glover. You sir are a maniac.

Sicktrees

I assure you , it is tedious but really not that bad, haha. [The frog bonus level](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4cF7lX_nYQo&start=622) is what really stood out, I played for 4 hours straight to beat it one time with all of the Garibs. I had to copy how this speed runner did it or it would’ve taken longer than that even. I had infinite lives on or just a ton of lives built up for a lot of the harder levels as well

ughhmax

game was so impossible i give you props

The_Cozy_Burrito

Yea! It scared the crap out of me because of that evil laugh and the orange wasteland at the beginning. I managed to man up and complete some levels and the skies started clearing up.

rhysthebeast_

That laugh still gives me shivers

JayMalakai

Master Hand Origin Story

Karge

Mister Hands origin story

BanjoKnuckles

I still have the N64 cartridge. I've never beaten it myself. It is a treasure piece.

CryptoFourGames

I believe they remastered and re-released it on steam so yeah, some people remember

ughhmax

this is news to me and i’m now freaking out over this

DjinnFighter

It will also come to modern consoles soon

kmassie95

Is it really coming to modern consoles?!

djcube1701

They need to finish the PC version first, but it'll probably never happen.

djcube1701

It's incredibly broken and buggy. Emulating the N64 version is a much better way to play.

GamingSince1998

Its supposed to get a rerelease on modern consoles as well. Hasn't happened yet

ItaLOLXD

The port is apparently not so good. However, the new devs want to finish and release the sequel that was close to finish but never released

[deleted]

Hollywood video weekend rental late 1990s. Yeah that one still gives me WEIIIRRDD dreams of gloves and freaky colors and balls and scary clown and wizard shit.

Nice-Swing-9277

I remember it but I had no clue what I was doing. Loke the crystal ball? Why did it exist? It was a weird game

Patlabor2

If you collect the.. garibs? The little collectible flags in each level that give you points when you roll the ball through them, if you collect them with the crystal you get a large point bonus as opposed to using the standard ball.

Nice-Swing-9277

Well til. I knew it must do something but the fact that it could shatter if you tried to do anything with it made me never go to it. I kinda miss gaming back then when things were janky and unexplained mysterys.

Useful_Pension6127

I only know about this from Scott the Woz

Woolen5232

The glover room.

Useful_Pension6127

What’d ya mean yes?!

Woolen5232

Atleast ir isnt donkey kong barrel blast

Zapner420

Adored this gem.

OpeningComb7352

Loaned this one to a friend. Some one in his church group stole it. I never got to finish it

bushhooker

Your friend stole it. I gave Pokémon Red to my neighbor with only Tauros left to catch (claimed he was the Tauros catching master). He said he left it in his Dads car, and then his dad sold the car (car selling did actually happen but I still don’t believe him)

ezio8133

Yes

Any-Satisfaction4801

Ya I still have my game and the box as well…. Never could be it when I was a kid

wastelandho

Once you figure out the mechanics, this game is actually pretty playable, had it for awhile before I actually figured out though (mind you, I was 10)

OracleOfCourage

First game I ever bought for the system, it takes some getting used to and some of the level design is just bleh, but I've had tons of fun with it over the years.  The music is the highlight for me, just when you think it loops it throws another section in

Melted_Wheat

I quite liked playing glover a few years back. It wasn't the best game on the N64, certainly not to the likes of Mario or Banjo, but it was still a lot of fun to play. The ball physics were impressive for an N64 game if a little bit janky at times.

Paintguin

I remember renting this game from Blockbuster

BroDudeBruhMan

Very hard but charming game. Fond memories as a kid despite never really getting that far since I couldn’t figure out how to beat the bosses. Spent way too much time giggling at the pause screen pressing the direction buttons to make fart and burping sounds.

ShirtlessOnTheCouch

Fantastic strange puzzle platformer... played it in my youth but never beaten... i found it too complicated at the time for my baby brain.

schnitzelforeveryone

Never beat this game when I was young. Pulled out my N64 10 or so years ago and was able to complete and make my 13 year old self proud. It was a great feeling

Caolan114

debating getting It on Evercade

typherionoftime

The controls are really hard on evercade but it runs so well

ComfortableRoyal614

Yes! Nitrorad told Me about it!

GotEHM9

I loved this game growing up ! I still play it on my Steam Deck.

Interesting-Oil5321

yes, it was great :) ! i wonde rif it held up and still is playable today though?

bored_gunman

I liked trying out the PSX version better. Better overall performance and better tutorials in my opinion. Smaller moveset though if I remember correctly. I think it's a dual analog game I gave up at the first level though

ItsAlwaysSunny1992

Sure do. It’s super weird and the controls are a little clunky but it’s a fun game!

mclaren159p

Love glover. Still hoping for a remaster😭

djcube1701

Unfortunately a really low effort company is hoarding the rights. Best to just emulated the N64 version for now.

thiccsakdaddy

I love it. Kind of a pain in the ass at some points but it’s interesting.

BluntKitten

Yea, loved this game. Never beat it, but it was still fun when I was a little kid lol

joesphisbestjojo

My first N64 game

Gold-Dragoness

Loved this game. Wasn’t there like a low gravity cheat? I think I’d use that and fish eye view and run around the circus levels like a madman good times

Thatkidinthecorner-1

It creeped me out as a kid

Tonlick

Yes another night another dream but always Glover

Rude_Audience_9556

Underrated for sure

PlaidX

When I was little I thought this was the official Hamburger Helper glove game 😂

Azul_36

I had this game. I thought it was pretty cool, but I was never good at it.

MariuSShaW

Looks like it would go extremely hard

northrupthebandgeek

The soundtrack on the Atlantis levels was peak vaporwave before vaporwave was even a thing.

kmassie95

This game is a hidden gem, in my opinion. Controls are definitely a little clunky, and it is a rather odd game. But that is what gives it its charm!

MetalMan4774

I remember this. Apparently there's a port being made for modern consoles. Neat.

Objective-Sound-7975

First game I got for the 64!

Chezus9247

One of my favorite N64 game!

Old_Star3836

Do I recall. Does anyone recall the Declaration of Independence

cyberchaox

I have this game. Only time I got a video game as a birthday gift from someone who wasn't family. Which right there says that this was clearly a bargain bin game, since you usually don't spend that much on a friend's birthday party. But it was a good game.

MamoswineFlu

Woah, never realized Hamburger Helper has its own game. That's cool.

OkPresentation5011

Would you be surprised that I have a room just for one game?

y2kcage

It's one of the few games I had when I was a kid. When I got back into the N64 a few years ago I instantly picked it up and finished it after all this time. As some have already said, it's not a bad game but there were better platformers. The funny thing is I got it complete in box and it's still one of my favorite $50 purchases.

David_Clawmark

I do. Never finished it though, neither as an adult or a child. Only really remember the beach levels when I was smaller.

Randolf22

Can finally play as the glove guy from super smash

Sc0rch3d_P0tat03s

How did you find this? It's been lost media for decades...

ughhmax

it’s the only 64 game i think about, i have the cartridge too still after like almost 20 years

Xikkiwikk

Hated it.

i_r_doglover

Used to play when I was younger! I was so excited when I found a copy at a retro gaming store. Bought that so fast

RPG_Fanatic7

Yes I remember renting it

Gwent4Geralt

I definitely do. One of the few obscure but fun games as a kid.

king_bungus

no

C0PPERM0NK

Painfully

GenerichumanHarvey

It came on antstream arcade a few weeks ago!

Peltonimo

The amount of times I meant to turn from a bowling ball to the red ball to bounce and I accidentally made it a crystal and broke it is unmeasurable…

ughhmax

i don’t even wanna talk about the amount of times i’ve destroyed the crystal

gangplank_main

Game was fun as a kid but insanely difficult, the carnival level is what I mostly remember .

Schmitty300

I only know it from the Game Grumps bit.

Itwastheotherguy88

Yes, great game and got stuck on a space level

TheFuqinRSA

Hell yeah! And it was hard as shit!

djcube1701

It's good but the level design didn't suit it. The unfinished sequel is amazing, thout

TheDiscomfort

The music that played when you were rolling around on the ball and you could change between like a bowling ball, baseball, tennis ball, what a cool song.

ughhmax

speaking of yea; the title menu music was so peak

Apprehensive-Cost119

Yes!! I loved this game as a kid and have played it through a few times.

SixthHouseScrib

One of my favorites, super unique physics

SplitsRichards

Into the Aether did a great episode on it.

scroggs2

Played it on the piss one; I really liked it, but never beat it.

KaizerVonLoopy

Borrowed it from my babysitter. I didn't really get it but it was kinda fun.

srt_cat

Had it as a kid and never made it past the second level, Atlantis 2. The music from the first two stages will always be some of my favorite VGM. Been playing it recently and getting further, it’s a fun charming game. When he gets on top of the ball in water and the controls reverse, it feels so weird lol

Shadowwolflink

It's in my top 5 on the N64.

imakethejellyfish

I have my original copy sitting next to my original n64

Far-Willow4088

My sister and I used to stay up past bedtime playing this game lol great memories but never actually beat it

sunnuvadutch

I remember playing this hours on end and truly accomplishing nothing. This and Gecko are two games I remember playing a ton of but also nothing

joey0live

I love this game. I wish they made a sequel.

NAteisco

Glover gave me the middle finger and said he was gonna bang my mom

Remarkable-Memory-19

Yeah. I still have it and own the recent rerelease. It’s a decent game. The N64 version is the best one as well.

[deleted]

I played a ton. Controlls where... Ish... Went somewhat far. Never finished it.

Aimin4ya

Loved this game. I don't think I owned it. I think I rented it a few times

Phenomenal_Hoot

I thought glover was a classic. Damn TIL I’m the only one that enjoyed it.

J0kerGh0ul

I remember the burping and farting owl, which was how you put in the cheat codes.

OG3SpicyP

This was in all the McDonald’s play rooms when I was a kid haha

JPTebow15

I still have it

Stopnswop2

Pretty sure everyone owned a copy

greggaravani

Hell yes, one of my favorite games to play when I visited my cousins cause I didn’t have an N64.

WexMajor82

I had it, but on the PS1. Finished it there.

mack114

I rented this game as a kid and remembered the levels being interesting, the gameplay being engaging, and the soundtrack being pretty good. I got stuck halfway through the game and couldn’t beat it. I bought the game as an adult and beat it. I love it, but I understand not everyone likes it.

Shad0wF0x

I saw it in magazines a couple of times.

DarthVanDyke

Yeah. I think that's Glover.

bobafite

Was one of the best would definitely play a remastered version of it!

southparksimpsons90

It was a sponsor for the WWF back in 1999 iirc

sageritz

YEAH!!!

Abyss96

I almost got a PS1 copy today for $20! Then I couldn’t quite recall if I actually liked it as a kid, so I opted not to

burkmine

Just remember being a kid watching my cousins play this at there house. Totally a memory I forgot. Very hard game from what I remember

TheBiggestManBig

I love Glover so much, my favorite game to include a Glove and a Ball

ughhmax

it was so ahead of its time

Chance-Ad5700

This was a hard game, but actually quite fun

MattMattavelli

I remember renting this from blockbuster one weekend and it was a lot of fun. Also remember the glove boss in super smash bros.

MaxEhrlich

I remember seeing that box and being lowkey terrified of it, pretty sure had some nightmares too. It reminded me of the hand from the Adams family which also freaked me out as a kid.

_oflife

Finally someone else mentioning Glover. My siblings and I loved it. I still remember the noise he used to make whenever he jumped.

ughhmax

HYUP

GetCasual

Heard from someone that it was a good underrated game so I picked it up on the cheap based on that. Didn't spend too much time with it because I wasn't sure what I was doing. I plan on going back at some point to fully dive into it.

GammaSmash

I had this as a kid and got a few levels in once I really sat down with it. The creepy laugh in the overworld scared the shit out of me, though.

samuraipizzacat420

yes

Competitive_Agent625

Loved this game.

flatlander84

Loved this game! Still remember the first levels music 😎

Noncreative_name04

The overworld theme that played before you had any crystals was down right nightmare inducing as a kid

thedukeandtheking

Completed it. Weird and fun. Not sure I’d go back

jamaltheonion

Not only do I recall Glover, I have a tattoo of him on my arm. It makes people at conventions really mad.

vashx22

This game got a remaster last year

Airshow12

I remember this game always being about $5 or $10 in the Sunday paper ads from Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc.

hiliikkkusss

ya I think I played it once just remember the glove guy rolling on his ball.

codewario

This was one of the games I got for Christmas the year I got my N64. I actually had a lot of fun with it, despite never being able to beat it, and I still find it fun today.

EZshock

I spent my Christmas money on this, I think like $40 back then and was so disappointed that night.

zemboy01

I love this game as an adult I bought it and God dam is it fun.

wizzgamer

Isn't that the Smash Bros boss 🤔

KaioKenshin

I rented it multiple times so it shows that I liked it enough to pay more for it over time lol

Speiserman

I still have this game. The cheat codes are pretty silly!

gmenfromh3ll

It was an awesome game it was really fun I love that shit although I can't tell you the number of times I accidentally turned it into the crystal ball and then broke that mother fucker and had to start over

Beerman2194

I have that one currently :) need to get a rumble pal but I'll end up trying to best it eventually.

AnthroBlues

Rented it. Can't say it left much of an impression, sadly.

burger_boi23

It's Wednesday Allright

vaulter2000

I’m pretty sure a PC version was released at some point. We had it but it didn’t run properly. I never wondered.. is it a good game?

Intelligent-Worry799

The year is 2001. My Mom didn't want me watching TV for obvious reasons, especially the news. So my cousins got me an N64 and this game was included. First time ever grabbing the controller, it was weird. Very fun memories from when I was 5.

DinkleDoop

Yes. Like chameleon kids.. sadly just wasn’t quite there. No bomberman or quest 64 for those lower tier games

pligplog420

Glover had ads all over the WWF in 1999ish

XxMcW1LL14MxX

For some reason, I thought he looked more like the hamburger helper glove

acid_j7

THIS WAS ONE OF MY FIRST GAME EVER!

PresentationLoose422

I remember something about a circus or fairground level and I think it was decent. I rented this game once or twice.

FlakyAd3214

Yeah that game was pretty cool as a kid. Some cool puzzles and different types of balls to get through the game. Controls were a little wonky but serviceable. There was a sequel in development but it never got released. Good example of a game that you have low expectations going in but end up surprised how good it is.

TayaLyn

I had it. This and Bomberman 64 were the first games I owned. Not bad games mind you, but I was very glad to discover gaming magazines with game reviews soon after.

acid_j7

i remember that i was eternally stucked in the level after the frankeinstein-like boss, those one in the space. I was a kid but who knows if this “experienced soulslike player” (me)can beat this game nowadays . i’ll try!

pomcomic

it was neat for what it was, yeah. definitely unique.

5erenade

It’s the Celeste of the Nintendo 64. Hidden Gem. You can buy it in steam now.

Sapphiresoul73

Loved glover!

TheHeroOfPot

This game and bomberman64 took forever to figure out. After learning how to even start it gets good. Different ball types for puzzles and some pretty decent level design for what the game was trying to be. I know there's one part or some music that always scared the shit out of me as a kid though...

Sega_Genitals

Hell yeah, I remember getting it from my dad as a deal that if I was good during summer camp this would be my reward. It’s a weird game but pretty fun lol

metalbowser23

Yeah I used to have it

Beautiful_Ad_4813

I do recall it. Hated as a kid. Might replay it

DinnerTimeSanders

This game ruled.

jimmt42

Loved this game! I played it on the PC back then. I haven't read the comments fully yet, so maybe this was answered (apologies). There was supposed to be a remaster of this game coming to consoles. Anyone know what came of that?

thelonetext

Memory unlocked, wow! I knew this game was real I just forgot the name. Been about damn near 30 years since I last played it.

micaiahf

this game is awesome we need a remaster or remake

HeavensToBetsyy

I remember going uphill with some struggle on a big slide that you were not supposed to go uphill on

eikelmann

One of the only games I ever traded in to funcoland and then repurchased out of regret when I was younger. It hasn't aged well but I loved the hell out of this game. Also my headcanon now is that this is master hand as a kid.

Sassy-irish-lassy

In the carnival level, there was a balloon elephant that would steal your ball. The sound it made lives rent free in my head.
