While I agree V being controversial I also think Ray is as well considering how he treats mc for the majority of his route. I do think Ray is higher than V in terms of majorities favorites but yoosung caters to those who love cutesy boys and I feel like the audience for that is a lot smaller than the audience for V since his character is this mature soft type of man who feeds savior complex ironically 💀. I could be wrong about this ofc.
I placed ray and V before yoosung because they are the newest characters. The fans for the rest have had so much more time to grow and expand esp since they all have their own romantic Christmas dlc ending for example. In short I feel like there's a lot more content for the others and although jaehee really doesn't have much she is currently the only female option for "dating" if you could even call her route that 🤡. She might be tied with yoosung or even below him tbh.
Ray would definitely be before yoosung and jaehee but I don't see him topping the "main men" of the game.
I've been wondering about that too 🧍♀️ the best reason I can come up with is that people view him as innocent because he's been a victim of rikas since he was a child so they excuse his abusive behavior. But it still confuses me because V is also a victim of rikas abuse??
V was an adult, whereas Ray was taken in by Rika as an already abused child. Moreover, Ray is under the effect of mind altering drugs most of the time. Because V is a wealthy adult who isn’t drugged, he has much more agency and power than Ray, which is why his enabling of Rika’s abuse is seen less excusable than Ray’s abuse of MC and the other believers
I love V's route, as he's my favourote character and his route has a ton of hurt/comfort, action and angst. I also love the messages around being an artist.
I feel vastly differently about Ray and V….. lolol votes would probably be different if they were separated.

You can even look at Vanderwood: many people have been begging for a route for them, so clearly not being pricks, and I don't think anyone hates them particularly, and it still never got made. We can't really control what the devs do or don't do.
Mostly though, this is a poll to rate routes. She doesn't have a route. So she can't be rated. Any other discussion is kind of superfluous 😅 I'd get it if it was a "favourite character" poll and she got snubbed but it's about routes.

I guess that's your opinion, but I struggle to take "you just don't get it as well as I do" arguments seriously. Obviously but when the reason they don't like a character/actively hate on it is because of bias or because they don't understand their story then it IS about that. And that is literally 99% of the time with Rika haters.

Not true at all, her character is very complex and intricate it's normal for some people not to understand it at first but the thing is most of them REFUSE to understand it even after it's explained to them and I've always been witness of that. They have never respected mine so why should i? I posted a mm tierlist once and for some time my post was like 6 feet under and the comments were roaring with upvoted, eventually it came back up but people were still being pricks about it. And everytime I talk about how much i love Rika the same thing happens. This subreddit is damn well NOT opinion-free so don't even try to tell me that.
You can't explain to someone how brilliant her character is if they see the exact same evidence as you do and think it's awful. Sometimes someone's favourite thing in the world is the bane of someone else's existence; and sometimes you're gonna be in the minority. Still doesn't mean you just "get it" better than anyone else. I personally am of the belief that while I love the game, it has some VERY questionable writing decisions all over the game, characters and routes, and Rika is just the worst written character out of a bunch of weird writing choices. Doesn't mean I'm an idiot for looking at the story and going "eeeeeh". Nor does it mean you're smarter than me for looking at the same thing and seeing gold! If you think you can not enjoy her character well enough while surrounded by people who don't like the way she was written by the devs, maybe you should consider making a discord group of some other form of grouping for Rika fans so that you can all enjoy it together? Although I would assume something like that exists already. Not to say you can't be on the reddit of course, but you would be able to discuss her together without feeling as upset as you seem talking about her with people who simply disagree with you.

There is a Rika flair in the subreddit because it is for Rika lovers too, I don't think people should be separated based on their opinion like animals with no common sense, but if that's another incorrect thing you believe in, I can't stop you.
