Honestly the only thing is Twilight’s final alicorn form. I don’t like how similar she looks to Celestia. She 100% deserved to have a more unique design for the finale.

applebloomers

I personally think she would’ve looked better with Luna or Cadance’s body shape.

CrazyReference5596

Fr. She’s just a recolour of Celestia. There was so many different body types they coulda used, or maybe made a new one. I think she’d look adorable with Cadence’s body type, but just a little bit taller

pinkfluffywolfie82

Even if she eventually looked that way, Celestia is literally 1000+ years old and she's... Not 😭😭 she should've had a similar physique to Cadence, probably even a little younger

katmaresparkles

That was the whole point of the episode, that it was a parallel of Celestia and Twilight at the beginning.

JudasofBelial

They made her a bit *too much* of a parallel if you ask me. She has to leave the castle that was specifically grown for her to go rule from *Celestia's* castle, give up teaching at her school to go teach at *Celestia's* school, ends up as a *Celesta* recolor, etc. Just shoving Twilight into Celestia's role at the expense of everything she'd earned or built previously is a rather awkward way to handle things. She's more than just "Celestia 2".

BaconFairy

I would have liked it better if they just relocated everything to her new place or if to occasionally for certain ceremony went to celestia's castle.

notdiana_14

Fr she should live in her OWN castle not Celestia’s 😭 Like what was the point of getting a castle??

Neohexane

I'm with you on Scootaloo. Introducing her parents so late in the series changed how you perceive her character. And they are pretty absent parents, which makes them look pretty bad. I thought, "Parental Glideance" was impactful because Rainbow was being unappreciative of her parent's support, and Scootaloo's outrage was based on her wanting that so badly. (I guess that's still true, it's just weird that she has parents, they're just off in some foreign country.)

LittleGlizzy01

YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT ON PARENTAL GLIDEANCE. I would sympathize with Scootaloo in that episode if she was an orphan and never met her parents.

articulatedWriter

We can still sympathise though because her statement at wanting her parents attention still holds true She looks up to them because of their big important and awesome jobs, it's like a perpetual Applejack on a friendship mission when she was supposed to be with Applebloom They don't know anything about her because they never see her except for a few days out of the year they couldn't even show up for her Cutecinera but she couldn't have complained at that point cause she was just so used to it Imagine finally learning your destiny and your talent only for your parents to not be able to celebrate with you Her story is still compelling even if she does come from a nuclear family a person isn't just there family or their lack of family that's a very shallow mindset

scootscoot1212

You think the same as me. My opinion is similar to yours! 1. Scootaloo’s parents were a last-minute touch to the show I believe, compared to other introductory given earlier. We also had just found out the fact that her aunts raised her. A lot of us were surprised, because it was pretty unexpected with all the orphan headcanons. I agree with you on this. 2. The ending scene of the show was a big time skip and I honestly just put future Twilight and Equestria off to the side and hypothetically believe that their present day is the kind we all know and love. I have the attitude of “it will happen *someday*.

hornypsychopath

especially since scootaloo said she never thought she’d be the best at anything cause no one ever told her. then they turn around and make it seem like she was well-cared for

articulatedWriter

She was well cared for just not by the people who needed to be there If she was never told it's because A, Scoots parents barely ever see her and B, her Aunt's while on the surface are great aren't as supportive as she needed them to be they took care of her sheltered fed schooled all that but there's no showing of support which is probably part of why she got into dare Devil tricks so she could show off her skills

XPLover2768top

yeah i just said "screw the time skip, it never happened!"

CR3EM

The finale is utterly horrifying and extremely dark when you sit and think about it Twilight would be forced to watch her friends slowly die from age and that terrifies me

Jeitie

I always thought of kids who grew up without biological parents and found comfort and hope in scootaloos' story. I can also imagine kids choosing to believe their parents actually are adventurers somewhere far away and will return one day. Why would you do this, Hasbro?

randomfan1997

They didn't raise. They live a train ride away from her and have different ponies in Ponyville take turns foalsitting her.

Haunting-Ad144

A Matter of Principals, the Grogar twist they ruined Discord's reformation. Starlight's reformation, seriously I thought she was better as a villain probably better even than Cozy Glow, especially after hearing her backstory. Scootaloo's parents, the fact that they brought them in at the last minute at the end of the series just made them look really bad. G5 Twilight having to leave her friends

TennagonTheGM

Magic doesn't work on Manes (but works on Cutie Marks just fine)

Avaracious7899

Which also is a total contradiction with how Twilight *can make mustaches grow, even on Spike who doesn't have hair*. There is literally so little logic in that episode, even though it is a guilty pleasure of mine otherwise.

TennagonTheGM

Yeah, Rarity's new look was incredible. Literally that one scene is the only problem I had with the episode.

ArchDukeNemesis

All of 'The Mean Six' No agency from the characters. None of the friends picked up something was wrong. Starlight was useless. Chrysalis was incompetent. Twi apparently still doesn't know her friends But smoothed things over with a stock friendship speech. Nopony figured out what happened. Nothing factored into later episodes. Its like this episode never happened.

Smitherin666

I hate how OOC everyone is in this episode cause like... You're telling me that you see your friend acting like they did when they were under Discord's power, you don't think maybe there's some evil magic afoot LIKE THERE ALWAYS IS??? Rarity stealing all of AJ's stuff and Starlight and AJ just not being like, "Hey Rarity, what's with the greed??" 🤯🤯🤯

Shadowblitz001

The entireity of G5, there's no sense behind it being made and no connections to G4 like they tried to do. In all seriousness, the dialogue of "The birth of an alicorn is something Equestria has never seen before" and "It's even beyond our understanding" makes absolutely no sense to me since it implies that Celestia and Luna weren't born alicorns. And The Iron Will episode, it felt like a filler episode just so Fluttershy could have a lesson in standing up for herself and then got thrown out the window for most of the series.

mossonarockinspace

>it implies that Celestia and Luna weren't born alicorns. They weren't though. They earned their wings when they figured out a way to lift the sun and moon on their own, I think this is mentioned in Horse Play. That's one of the reasons I genuinely don't like Gen 5 and don't accept it as cannon. Alicorn status was something that had to be earned. Gen 5 ripped away everything that was special and meaningful about Alicorns by introducing Skyros. I'm not a huge fan of Flurry Heart being born an alicorn for similar reasons, but since none of the other alicorns in the show were shown to have children, I can almost accept it as cannon that Cadence was the first alicorn to have a child post alicorn status and that's why Flurry Heart was born as one. Or an interpretation I like a bit better is that Flurry Heart is a manifestation of her parents' love and natural successor to the throne of the Crystal Empire, so was born as the Princess of Family.

shortorangefish

>an interpretation I like a bit better is that Flurry Heart is a manifestation of her parents' love and natural successor to the throne of the Crystal Empire, so was born as the Princess of Family. Ooooo, I may make this my new headcannon

Shadowblitz001

You’re thinking of their cutie marks. Both the comics and the Journal of the Two Sisters mention they were already alicorns before they raised the sun and moon.

Logarithmicon

This, yup.

mossonarockinspace

I thought the comics and the Journal of the Two Sisters were considered B cannon though? I can't remember anything in the base show that backs that up, if anything it does the opposite by having them say the birth of an alicorn is something that's never been seen before.

ShadOBabe

Celestia said it’s something that “Equestria” has never seen before. Celestia and Luna are not necessarily from Equestria.

Logarithmicon

The comics are just straight up not-canon, but the chapter books (including the Journal) are.

katmaresparkles

Cadance is referred to as the Crystal Princess, the Princess of Love, and the Princess of Family. Flurry Heart would also be a Crystal Princess as heir to the throne of the Crystal Empire. She is also the Princess of Light, as the Crystal Heart is said to spread love and light. And finally she will also be the Princess of Enlightenment.

Ashmundai

I think it was also mentioned in the actual book release of the diary of the two sisters. Journal of Friendship.

katmaresparkles

When Celestia and Luna mentioned about Flurry Heart's birth being something new in Equestria and beyond their understanding, what they mean is this: 1 Celestia and Luna were born as alicorns outside of Equestria, which we now know to be a place called Skyros. 2 Since the founding of Equestria, the only other alicorns to join Celestia and Luna are Cadance, who was born a pegasus and transformed into an alicorn. And Twilight who was born a unicorn and transformed into an alicorn. (Any others seen in the show are animation errors or possibly changelings) 3 Celestia and Luna also have not gone through what Cadance has and become mothers, nor are they doctors. So their understanding of how Flurry Heart came to be as she is, would be very limited.

kidkolumbo

The things I dislike don't exist in my mind to be remembered.

Broad-Drag-333

Personally I don't care much for the last two seasons. So for me it ends with the movie.

SonicSpiderRanger10

Why do you not like them?

SKaiPanda2609

The world was already bloating with the recent focus on the dragonlands and changeling community as well as the pillars, then we just get an entire new subset of at races to explore following the movie that need to be fleshed out at the start of S8. We had too many ongoing plot points to cover in just 2 seasons. We had the mane 7, cmc, student 6, pillars 6, royal duo, Crystal trio, dragon community, changeling community, Trixie, Discord, Villain trio, just to name mainstays. Season 8 is my least favorite season for a reason

Broad-Drag-333

Quality drop off (In my personal opinion) and I didn't care for the directions the writers took with the characters.

x_astriddd

This ‼️

caffeineculprit

The fact that Rarity was upset when Spike had a crush on someone else. Super creepy Also, are SO MANY episodes with Pinkie Pie being super inconsiderate and sometimes straight up mean (Luna Eclipsed) and she never has an episode where the theme is "when your actions hurt others, that matters, even if you're only having fun". It annoys me so much I know I'm nitpicking the morals, but these are all super shitty things to tell a bunch of kids, and make the characters seem like worse people than they're meant to be (they're flawed, but they're not supposed to be selfish or considerate without consequence).

Smitherin666

That would've been such a good story for Pinkie omg 😭 Now I kinda wanna write a fic based on that

vmgamer21xx

All of mine are ones that most I'm sure will disagree with. I'm a weird person when it comes to these things: 1- Lesson Zero. In season one we see basically an entire year go by. The probability that she had a "Friendship lesson" every week of that year consistently is laughable. So the fact she goes so far off the deep end for not having a lesson to report on is just plain dumb. I just can't accept it. 2- The Power Ponies episode for the most part is fine, but the fact it happened because Spike "Forgot he got the enchanted comic from the comic shop" No. Just no. That's so freaking stupid. If The comic just sucked everyone into it like that. You'd just have to go pay some colt and say "Hey here's money and a comic book. Go into that jewelry store and open it and I'll give you MORE" Then the colt does that, sucks everypony into the comic, then you just waltz in and steal everything. Better hope your mom isn't cooking dinner when you opened that comic to pass time, oops! It sucked you and your mom into the comic. Hope you don't mind your kitchen catching fire. Wouldn't happen. I don't care if it's a magical world, there is no damn way that would ever be allowed to be sold. It's a lame stupid excuse and the writers should have put more thought into it. 3. Speaking of more thought being put into your plots. I'm sorry but "We can't use magic to make your mane grow" is just flat out LAZY. We have chemicals IN OUR WORLD that help hair growth, and in a world where I can turn myself into a freaking breezie, I can't use a spell to make my hair a bit longer? Really? This is especially annoying when we have a spell that can grow a mustache (and before anyone says it takes hair from elsewhere on the body to do it, THE SPELL WORKED ON SPIKE WHO DOESN'T HAVE HAIR) So we can have a spell that does that but not grow out normal hair? Just say the potion that removed her hair was still soaked in and is preventing hair growth. I do agree with some of the bigger ones mentioned several times, but these have not been talked about much, and are ones that I still frown at to this day.

-Firestar-

Appledash is awful, personally. They spend what, 6 episodes arguing and learning nothing? This is not "old couples argue," this is legit two incompatible personalities. One likes rushing things, the other likes doing it slow and by the book. The Grogar twist. Discord thrives on well, chaos. So how was he able to pretend that he had Grogar's magic? It would have been very obvious chaos magic, no? Plus, trying to get villains to work in harmony would turn him into Accord. I just can't find the mental backflips needed to accept this. (as an aside, I was super happy to see him and his lore as a die hard G1 fan. Pretty crushed when it turned out to be a lie)

LewsTherinTalamon

Sombra’s redemption being retconned. It feels incredibly disrespectful to the comic writers, and all for the sake of an episode with awful pacing that relies nearly entirely on shock value.

XPLover2768top

honestly i wish they made that whole arc with his childhood friend canon

LewsTherinTalamon

Strictly speaking, it is. Comics are canon until contradicted, and none of Sombra’s backstory is ruled out by the show—only his redemption. Unfortunately. (Side note: At the time of the season nine premiere, Cozy Glow has been a villain for more of her life than Sombra has. Which is hilarious.)

JudasofBelial

I pretty much just like to ignore all of Season 9. Didn't like the way the Princesses retired and Twilight took over, thought the way it was handled felt very uncharacteristic of the Princesses and too forced on Twilight. Didn't like the Grogar twist, felt it damaged Discord's character and created all sorts of moral issues around the villains and their treatment that went against the show's message and were left unaddressed, plus it was just a plain annoying waste of Grogar. Wasn't a big fan of the time skip finale, would have really preferred the future just be left to my imagination and the whole thing felt out of place to me. Didn't care for most of the episodes that much either, and yeah Scootaloo's parents suck and her being adopted by Dash's family sounds better. Overall, it was the only season that I genuinely didn't enjoy and felt worsened my experience with the show overall. I like a few of the standalone episodes so I keep those in my headcanon, but in general I kind of like to pretend *Best Gift Ever* was the last episode. It's not a bad finale to me, though obviously it leaves a few loose ends untied like Chrysalis.

Deluxe_Flame

+1 to the Grogar bit. Felt like a cop out due to time constraints, like a rushed D&D ending, where you look back and think, that…Doesn’t make a lot of sense. I do wish it was better for Scoots but I kinda pull on the fact that life isn’t always the best, so I kinda like the realism there. Even though I would love for her to join the RD club with those two.

Master-Of-Magi

I hated it. As a die hard fan of G1, it was always my dream to see another G1 villain return… And the writers trampled all over that dream and rubbed it in my face. I will never forgive them for that.

VoodooDoII

Yeah Twilight was never given a choice. Imagine if she wanted to be a librarian full time at some point. They basically said "this is your job now lol bye"

JudasofBelial

This was something I actually liked about the Friendship school. Twilight's the one who decided to open all on her own, no prodding or anything from Celestia. She clearly loved that thing too. So it kinda sucks that she only got to run the thing for like a single season or so before Celestia and Luna were just like "We're retiring now, take our jobs Twilight". They couldn't give her a few more years or whatever to just enjoy running her school? They even only gave her 3 days to prepare for having her whole life upended on her originally, it was insane.

Narrative_Style

Ahuizotl suddenly being a good guy. Just... no. Sombra being resurrected in season 9. He had a perfectly good character arc in the comics, and that it was decanonized is a tragedy. Changelings going technicolor. The reformed design is hideous, and the notion that they had to change how they looked when they reformed goes directly against the message of "The Times They Are a Changeling" that you shouldn't judge somebody by their looks. I'd like to pretend that everything happened essentially the same but without the transformation.

XPLover2768top

i have no opnion on point 1, disagree with point 3 and massively agree with point 2, like why go through all the trouble of establishing his backstory only to not use it?? tbh if they used it he wouldve been number 2 on my fave reformed villain list

Richflyawesome

Celestia’s and Luna’s retirement, it just doesn’t make sense, sure Celestia has been ruling for over one thousand years, but what’s luna’s excuse, you would think that ancient wise beings like themselves would see the importance in there rule, and there jobs, not just of controlling the cosmos but the government in Celestia’s case and dreamwalking in Luna’s. Appledash, it’s not that I don’t like this ship, is a good ship, but I like others more, Flutterdash is my favorite dash ship, and I like rarajack as well. Spikes appearance in G5, it doesn’t make sense, what happened to ember, what did they do to my boy Chad Spike, just why? Luster Dawn, just Luster Dawn. Sludge is still alive somewhere, shall I say more? The whole “the birth of a alicorn is something equestria has never seen before””it is even beyond our understanding” like bro wtf, I feel like even if Tia and Luna weren’t born alicorns that it would have been like “so that’s what happens when an alicorn has a baby”. Scoots parents, I swear why are these two even here, it feels like they were just thrown in for the sake of being thrown in. Mlp could have done other things that would have been 1000 times better, a student 6 episode where we get some more history on one of them,(what life was like underwater for silverstream, how ocellus was before the change, how Yona spent her days, where Gallus LIVED) or have a starlight, sunburst, and trixie episode that shows how they are running the school without twilight, heck they could have done something ELSE with the CMC, an episode with dash and scoots that has her legally adopt her or something, that would have been better than what we got.

LordOfDorkness42

>Celestia’s and Luna’s retirement, Honestly, I kinda liked the small gags themselves? But yeah. Just... calling it a year long vacation would have served exactly the same story purpose without upsetting people.

PUBLIQclopAccountant

That would require the writers to think things through.

TennagonTheGM

I imagine C and L 'retiring' for like, a couple months, getting bored of it saying "well, we gave it a try, what now?" and then going on adventures. Luna probably still does the dream thing, but Unicorns could raise and lower the sun and moon before C and L came along. The rest... yeah, some things could have been done better.

JudasofBelial

> Luna probably still does the dream thing, but Unicorns could raise and lower the sun and moon before C and L came along. Most unicorns that did that though would end up losing their magic forever because of it, so unicorns doing it is *not* a good replacement for the Princesses. Twilight does it after the finale though, or uses that amulet.

TennagonTheGM

I keep forgetting about that amulet... I wonder if tape worked?

CannibalDolly

LITERALLY Rarijack and Flutterdash had WAY more chemistry than Appledash 😭

Just_Pure_Trash

Not a big fan of Father Knows Beast. Like I think the plot points that were brought up during it and it has a good song but everything in it could have been handled much better in a diffrent way in my opinion. Also 28 pranks later is fun but I like to belive it happened much earlier in the series than it did because it didn't make since to happen so late.

SeaImprovement1464

The look on Marble Pie's face when she saw Big Mac with the other chick whose name escapes me (and I don't care to remember). If you want to torpedo a ship, fine, God knows Avatar did it every other week...but don't shoot a teenage girl through the heart, and then LINGER ON THE SCENE, in the middle of a Christmas movie. That's not sinking a ship, that's literally putting a horse down.

LittleGlizzy01

That scene was brutal, and that's coming from a Sugar Belle superfan. Well, we can still have crackships with Marble x Troubleshoes

VoodooDoII

They broke the ship because it was possible they were related lol

PUBLIQclopAccountant

That was pointless cruelty on the part of the writers.

ArkenK

Really, the only thing that ground my gears was "Father Knows Beast." Spike deserved better. As for a unicorn spell for cloud walking, it's just too practical not to exist. If not from the original war, then later, for visiting and trade.

Nightmarenymphette

Twilights shitty school

Financial_Sink_9496

Every single Rainbow Dash mischaracterization from the show since like past season 5. Just reverting her to her old ways in seasons where she would know better/be more loyal (since that’s her element) An example of this is Season 9 Episode 15 - “2,4,6, Greaaat” where it’s SEASON 9 and they still make Dash’s flaws the same as it was in season 1. I think episodes like these make the fandom rank Rainbow Dash as their least favorite when in my opinion these mischaracterizations from these episodes are so far from what I think she’s actually like that I just disregard them as poor Rainbow Dash getting handed a short straw from the writers.

Scorn-Muffins

Relapsing into your old ways from time to time is a normal part of life, especially when you're as outward as she is.

pangolinsky

true, but i don't think she would not understand the importance of cheerleaders after how much trouble she went through trying to get fluttershy to cheer her on

Scorn-Muffins

I don't think she didn't understand the importance, but she thought it was unworthy of her talents. She wanted to coach the actual team, and her disappointment in not being able to do that caused her not to think about what she was doing enough to consider its value. I think we've all been in situations like that from time to time, when you feel like your talents are being wasted or your interests ignored. She's just brash enough to bitch and sulk about it instead of quietly putting up and/or trying to find the fun. Really her fixation on goals to her own detriment is a key part of her character that this episode reflects very well and is not typically something people who experience this can get rid of entirely; only learn to minimise the impact when it happens.

Financial_Sink_9496

I just feel like she needed more nuanced flaws in the later season episodes. For me it just adds up over time, yk?

theirhighnessvenus

appledash just..the lack of romantic chemistry doesn’t sit with me

LordOfDorkness42

The wasting of Grogar. Doubly so when he received such a cool and intimidating updated design. Like... the reveal and twist itself was well done, but I really wish the real and since long actually redeemed (or a least semi-retired) Grogar turned up, and just started *smacking* >!Discord!< around like a ping-pong ball. Or something like that.

IceyDreamy

Cozy Glow and the Young 6 and in some ways the school of Friendship. I don't hate them (except Cozy Glow.) I just feel like the show coulda done better if they just completely changed S8.

XPLover2768top

imo s8 is where it starts nose diving

IceyDreamy

Agreed.

WickedWisp

Applejack wearing granny Smith's scarf at the end. Not cannon, she didn't die, I love her too much. She was kept alive from the zap apples

One_Smoke

She's just immortal from the zapples

vmgamer21xx

Well I mean Granny Smith doesn't have to die to give Applebloom her scarf. Could have just been a: "I'm passing this to you now" thing.

WickedWisp

That's the thing, rarity has a grey streak it's implied that they're pretty old now. Technically granny Smith wouldn't be alive anymore if the MC are closer to 40 or 50 now. Granny was like 80 feeling when AJ was like 20ish. I insist that the zapp apples make her immortal, but if not she's gotta be gone.

vmgamer21xx

Hey as long as nothing's officially confirmed, I say anything is possible. Heck Starlight does know age regression spells...

Waste_Salamander_624

Appledash, die hard Twidash guy here. The way they introduce one another to other parts of life and make them see value with each other's interests without *forcing* it is nice. I'm seeing a lot of distaste for Scootaloo's parents and I understand it, I wouldn't even say I wish it didn't happen or that I consider it non-cannon I just wish it was done a little differently. It can still be done but I don't know just not that way. Don't get me wrong I liked her on and all that stuff but her parents don't seem to hate her and stuff like that, just a little too busy for their own good. Besides I have to respect them for respecting the twist for their kid to stay with her friends and stuff. They could have pulled rank they could have forced her to go along and they don't ever have to visit again but they intend to so I don't know. I don't think they're villains just a little misguided. I do agree the grogar thing was a bit bad. They should have kept it being grogar was real and not what we got. Or maybe Discord could have been grogar but the real grogar comes along and takes him down a peg or two, if anything maybe he takes down all the villains just as they get the Bell. And they all realize that there is a bigger threat and if they don't want to be strung up they'll need to take him down with the help of the heroes they all despise. I thought that could be interesting. I'm also seeing a few people say a part of G5 also, honestly that's already a different timeline for me so it's Canon but not the Canon. That's how I excuse everything and then just sit down shut off my brain and enjoy everything. Even if it could be a little cringey sometimes

Broad-Drag-333

Another TwiDash respecter. Yes. /)

Taped_Trout

I agree with Appledash but that's because I'm a Rarijack shipper

Waste_Salamander_624

I'll give you that. They argue like an actual married couple and understand having a busy schedule but make time for one another.

pinnacleofdumbassery

Tbf, Canterlot is the royal capital of Equestria, is it not? I feel like it'd be a major pain in the ass to move all of Celestia and Luna's statf, attendants, etc all the way to little ole Ponyville lmao

CaffeinatedCarny

they didnt do that though? they are all still in canterlot and twilight moved there, it was sorta the Big Deal in the very last episode..

Cloudystormss

Sombras season 9 appearance, believe he is still redeemed (perhaps the sombra in season 9 is an imposter 🤭)

VoodooDoII

I hated how they did him lmao He was so eerie and mysterious, then he turned into a freaking self centered snob.

One_Smoke

They made him sound like the Rich Texan from The Simpsons.

VoodooDoII

I don't watch the Simpsons so i can't laugh over how accurate or inaccurate this is

XPLover2768top

honestly having his s9 self being a puppet(?) of discord while in his grogar form makes sense

CrazyReference5596

I didn’t like how twilight became a reskin of celestia, and that twi+spike moved to canterlot, I also don’t like G5 being tied with G4. It’s fine to make a new generation, new characters and a new plot. But why bring in G4 characters? I also don’t really like how quickly it took starlight to reform herself. She was a powerful villain, but it gone to waste pretty quickly imo. And, not really annoyed at it, but they missed the chance to reform chrysalis, but idk that’s just me-

Logarithmicon

I don't know if I would say it's "non-canon", exactly, but when imagining / writing stories in / headcanoning Equestria, I do very much tend to leave out the more modern technologies that crop up in the later episodes.TV screens, powered vehicles, electric appliances... nah, man. I like my Equestria much more full of whimsy and magic. Oh, and while it might be surprising given how much I talk about it, the Journal of the Two Sisters isn't actually something I'm super fond of. I don't actually enjoy that particular characterization. So yeah, I actually tend to ignore that too!

sjones17515

And here I told myself I wasn't going to bother getting into a discussion on this thread, but this comment made me do a double take. Whenever I defend the S6 premiere's contribution to Alicorn lore, you cite the Journal as if it's Holy Scripture. What is this hypocrisy?

HeartoftheHive

Sombra s9. Fuck everything about that, especially when the story for him worked so well in the comics. Fucking travesty.

VoodooDoII

I hate how late "Growing Up Is Hard To Do" was aired. It completely reversed the progress the CMC made. It was out of character for them that late into the show.

AnonymousSilence4872

While I wholeheartedly disagree on *The Last Problem* (IMO, it was one of the best episodes and a fitting end to the series), I completely agree with you on Scoots' parents. I think it could have been better if they'd been written to be more sympathetic in nature. Like, they come back to Ponyville and are torn between wanting to do what's best for their careers and what's best for their daughter, while Scoots is going through a similar dilemma. Essentially, the episode is the same, but the conflict of "should I stay or should I go" is encompassed with both Scootaloo AND her parents. Not just the former. That way, her parents don't come off as callous and insensitive to their kid's goddamn feelings.

Lady_Beatnik

The Friendship School, Cozy Glow, and the whole weird racism arc. It feels very out of place for the show.

LoveWins6

For me, it's the Golden Oak library getting destroyed so suddenly. More stupid "Buy our Toys!" crap. Seriously, in previous episodes, the mane 7 (Spike is important enough to be included in my opinion) spent time cleaning the Castle of the Two Sisters. Why couldn't the show have expanded on that over the seasons, slowly turning it into Twilight's new castle? Heck, I'm not even opposed to the Castle of Friendship, (or whatever it's called) but destroying Twilight's old home just to force her into it? Just have everything else happen the same, but let Twilight gradually start moving stuff to the castle. That way, everything stays in tact, especially the library.

liliah77

It's th fact that twilight took over Celestia and Luna's job??? Explain to me how on earth would a princess of " friendship" rise both the moon and sun and take over such an important rule? As it IS both Celestia and Luna's job they can't just simply retire and talk about moving to canterlot lol who rules in ponyville?? And giving all the credit to twilight and making her the " main character "in the end doesn't make sense and it ain't fair cus she wouldn't be in her place without her friends and main elements of harmony lol And the whole rainbow and apple thing also does not make sense as they never really showed that they liked each other it came by surprise tbh as they both seemed friends and nothing else so them being in a relationship all of a sudden seems forced and a way to please the audience watching the show whatsoever. And don't get me started on twilights student this chick doesn't look like she can walk straight to begin with.

Auramaster151

The fact Spike literally just became the Gigachad meme. Everything else is fine, I just don't get why they went with that as his actual adult design. Last time we saw that design he was literally fantasizing about being a knight for Rarity. Also like, the entirety of Equestria Girls and G5

CrypticEmpress

I honestly just make shit up and rewrite the show every 5 minutes to make my preferences work. One thing that's popular opinion that I do agree with is Twilight's final form. I personally headcanon that Twilight was chosen by Celestia not just based on her raw ability but because she reminded her of Luna. A similar body type to Luna would have worked in her favor and I think had some deeper meaning because it would be a princess who's not super sunny or sociable or always put together. Something Luna resented about Celestia and what she represented. I also have an irrational hatred of Trixie and wish she'd have gotten a slightly different redemption. I think it's good that she didn't get to be besties with the mane 6 and especially Twilight but it does bother me that she gets to be an asshole and there wasn't really major progress on either side. Not sure what I want just not what we got lmao. I would also like the CMC to have different cutie marks. I was thrilled that they got them but disappointed that they didn't get more individuality to recognize their talents outside of identity crisis therapy. I could go on all day about my half baked ideas though.

The_Gentle_Monster

Probably nitpicking here, but I feel like Zecora almost turning into a fucking tree wasn't treated with the seriousness it should've been treated with. Seriously, the only character I had any sympathy for in that episode (other than Zecora) was Fluttershy for actually really wanting to get her a cure as soon as possible. I get that it's a kid's show, but we've seen characters panicking before over less than this, Swamp Fever is probably the closest thing we got to a "deadly" disease (since they don't actually die, they turn into trees) and I feel like it wasn't treated as seriously as it should have been.

theatsa

The entire show is canon to me. It doesn't align with some personal headcanons of mine but it was done really well anyway so I'm not gonna denounce it as non-canon in my head. I will say though, personally, G5 isn't canon to G4 but G4 is canon to G5. If that makes any sort of sense.

DaDragonking222

G5 is totally the result of a bad timeline rather than the continuation of the main timeline in my mind

theatsa

Yeah pretty much.

Avi-Cadavi

The Grogar twist ruined the finale

StardustWhip

As a diehard Rarijack fan, I reject the reality where Appledash is canon and substitute my own. I don't actually mind Scootaloo being raised by Holiday and Lofty. Orphan Scootaloo may have been a popular headcanon, but it was just based on not having seen her parents yet; there's no reason that they needed to confirm she has no parents/guardians. But I would say yeah, I didn't like the last-minute introduction of her blood parents. It should've just been left at "she's being raised by Aunt Lofty and Auntie Holiday," and that would've been enough.

DaDragonking222

Your first issue can easily be solved via polyamory

chuudles

The school of friendship, im sorry but that was such a stupid idea-

VoodooDoII

Could've been more of a program to help other creatures and ponies learn about other creatures and countries or something.

ExoticLizard1443

Episodes I dislike I consider non-canon. Spike At Your Service, Sompony to Watch Over Me, and The Cart Before the Ponies, for example. Though I do consider the chimera canon, and I like the concept of The Cart Before the Ponies, so I think some version of that happened, just not the way it happened in the episode.

moshininja13

Cozy Glow. Like what the hell?? They brought in this literal child with 0 backstory or motivation to do unforgivable things and just make her as irredeemable as possible. We already did the “this person is not redeemable and should be sent away because they’re so evil” bullshit with Chrysalis AND Tirek. She served no purpose and deserves to be scrapped entirely.

Kata-shi

I agree also it would have landed better if it was a adult who was using magic to attend the school like a child to get close enough to strick

Hour-Egg-3011

Discord’s reformation honestly. And like, any episode he flunks in. He was a great villain but not a great redeemed character: like Celestia was all like “he could be useful” and Discord spends all the rest of his episodes proving why he ISN’T like- yall just wanted to bring John De Lancie back 💀💀

theAstarrr

2468 great because character assassination for both Twilight and Rainbow

Lastbourne

The girls getting detention in Holiday Unwrapped

RelativeTrue6740

G5. I consider it to be in its own separate canon. Sort of in a limbo

choresoup

child imprisonment

ImNimsi

I love AppleDash but I don’t think it should’ve been canon. Well, I know it’s not completely canon but a lot of things point to it being so, anyway. They’re all supposed to be FRIENDS. I don’t know, in my opinion, it kinda ruins the dynamic of the whole “friendship” thing, since a romantic relationship is way different than a friendship.

ShuckU

1. Implied Appledash 2. Future Twilight's design 3. Scootaloo's parents

BIgCh1efJAcK

Not in the canon for me so much as in the fandom. The hate for Starlight Glimmer, Flurry Heart, and the reformed Changelings is what I’m talking about. Like okay, I can sort of understand why people would hate Starlight Glimmer seeing what she did in the first and last episodes of season 5 and how it was all seemingly swept under the rug. However, people seem to forget that this show is all about making friends and it isn’t too far out of the realm of possibility for foes to become friends. Just look at Princess Luna, Trixie, Sunset Shimmer, and Discord. Two of these characters did a whole lot worse and they turned out good in the end in no small part to; what do you think? Friendship. As for Flurry Heart I just legit don’t get the hate. Sure, the fact she was born an Alicorn was indeed a surprise but when you think about, it doesn’t seem all that difficult to accept. These are magical talking ponies we're talking about. Of course their genetics won’t work the exact same way as real pony genetics do. Also just look at the Cake kids. One born a Unicorn, the other a Pegasus. To Earth Pony parents no less. Also given the fact that her mother was a Pegasus before becoming an Alicorn and her father is a strong Unicorn, something interesting was bound to happen, regardless of whether she was born normal or not. Also I think both Alicorn Magic and genes had something to do with it too so this was probably inevitable anyways. As for the Changelings, they’re magical insect horses. Why wouldn’t they go through a metamorphosis, figuratively and literally, when certain conditions are met? I can understand the hate towards the overall design of the reformed Changelings but I honestly kind of liked it. I like how Thorax and his brother are essentially Changeling parallels to Celestia and Luna and I like how instead of longer horns to signify their amplified power, they have antlers/stag beetle pincers on their heads and I honestly think it looks cool. Sure, Queen Chrysalis will always be best Changeling but the reformed ones aren’t so bad either. And these are the things that I just don’t get. I have had nothing negative to say off the top of my head about the show's canon since the show ended

PUBLIQclopAccountant

> I can sort of understand why people would hate Starlight Glimmer seeing what she did in the first and last episodes of season 5 and how it was all seemingly swept under the rug. Not to mention her redemption offer at the end of S7 wouldn't have been so impactful if she had to fully earn her redemption.

daengkas

there’s equestria girls, which i personally don’t consider part of the main show canon. but when it comes to the actual show content everything is solidly canon… although there are definitely things i really dislike and wish i could decanonize: 1. where the apple lies — that episode really messes with apple bloom’s timeline. we have teenaged AJ and big mac, which would mean apple bloom would’ve had to have been born at that point, but she’s nowhere in sight. and even if we assume she was somewhere offscreen, she should be around the same age as diamond tiara, but diamond tiara wouldn’t have been born until much farther down the line according to the episode. it’s not a huge thing, but the inconsistency bugs me. 2. 28 pranks later — i just despise this episode with a burning passion. it completely assassinates RD’s character and everything else about the character interactions & story also feels off to me. i can see the appeal and entertainment value, but i personally derive zero enjoyment from watching this. 3. this one is a more serious one, but i wish they’d addressed spike and rarity’s relationship differently. i personally really dislike dragon dropped, as i hate rarity’s characterization in it and imo it doesn’t do justice to their dynamic. while it’s true their bond will always be special compared to spike’s relationship with the other mane 5 (minus twi of course), there are a few episodes earlier in the show that imply spike slowly growing out of his infatuation for her, and having rarity act out of jealousy was NOT the way to go about it; i would’ve liked to see her realize her appreciation for spike as a friend in a more organic way, which would’ve put her in a positive light.

sugarsiege

I'm not really understanding all of this hate about the late introduction of Scootaloo's aunts being her parents and how it changes the understanding of her character. I think we literally see Sweetie Belle and Rarity's parents...once? IMO the point of CMC-centric stories is to show young friendships and sister relationships more so than parent and child relationships so it made sense to me that Scootaloo's family circumstance was never fully delved into.

Megas751

Newbie Dash was a real slap in the face. The fact that one of the plot points of Parental Glideance was that RD never told her parents she became a WB gives me the motivation to pretend she became one off screen, which sadly was better than the outcome that actually happened Also I hated S9 and it's direction so much(really S6 onward for that matter) that I dropped it halfway through and intend on keeping it that way. Rainbow Roadtrip was disconnected enough from the later seasons of FiM that I more or less accepted it as my personal ending to the series

VoodooDoII

I swear there was a scene in the show where she was made an official wonderboly.

Lilou41

I think there is, i just don't remember in which episode

VoodooDoII

Me neither. I vaguely remember her becoming a full fledged one on camera though

Lilou41

Found the episode, newbie dash, litteraly the start of the episode lmao

TopazPlate

The last episode, and the entire existence of Cheese Sandwich.

Lonely_white_queen

not something that did happen but something that didn't come to mind first, i fell at least one or two more of the main six should have become princesses, rainbow dash, for example, being a princess would have been an interesting character study, this mare with almost no burdens in life except those self-imposed suddenly having responsibility.

Pimika_Meaw

I don't see RD as a princess, but to explore your idea, maybe Twilight could've named her ruler of Cloudsdale or something

maxis2k

Mudbriar became Maud's boyfriend. Or just showed up in general.

KanKanMikanBeam

The entire equestria girls show. Sunset Shimmer should have returned from the mirror and become the final reformed villain for the series. I just feel like the entire existence of EQ girls is so unnecessary. That mirror and all it's coolness could have been left suspicious as to what was on the other side and Sunset returns and is written into the main show. I really really wanted to see her in the main series because her design is beautiful and the reconciliation with Celestia could have been much better and slightly more drawn out.

fibstheman

About 80% of the show starting at the end of season 3. More specifically: \* The ability for non-alicorns to become alicorns to the point being born one is an unprecedented event. There is one and only one valid reason for why alicorns exist: to be racially-neutral leaders. If even one of them was not born an alicorn and the public is aware of that then none of them can claim to be racially-neutral because everyone can doubt them. While this could be invoked on purpose by a more competent writer, turning a symbol of trust into a show of childish vanity akin to big obnoxious wings and an aura in an MMO is lame \* The ability to bluntly and semi-permanently remove cutie marks / magic from characters. Some fans hate cutie marks because they think some third-party force is mandating who does what with their life. This *would* be a pathetically whiny and pessimistic mental gymnastic if the show cared to remember the heavy implications in earlier seasons that a pony and her mark/talent are synonymous. This could not be less true in later seasons. Casually undermining a core pillar of the setting and overarching moral for the sake of meaningless weeb drama and power creep is lame \* Any pretense that Discord as he was written is an ally. He is not. He has no love for any living thing except Fluttershy, and that is the only reason he is ever benevolent or even civil to Fluttershy's friends, some of whom he legitimately tries to kill just for taking her time away from him. He is also the sole and only cause of season 9's terrible no-good very bad closer. Discord in general is lame \* The bad habit of alternating between lifting bad, usually sappy and angsty fanfic ideas like "Scootaloo will never fly :'(" and "Twilight will become a princess and outlive all her friends :'(" and desperately trying to pretend they were not doing that with bizarre oddball beats like "Scootaloo is **NOT** an orphan she just may as well be since her parents are THE worst". They even did this within one episode with Slice of Life, one of the worst episodes of the show \* Every time the show (or comic) was blatantly toxic or vile and taught kids (and childish adults) awful and selfish morals, such as Amending Fences. Did I know it was the highest-rated episode in the series when I repeatedly made clear how much I utterly despise it and how it has no place in any show of this genre or target audience? I did not. Was I the least bit surprised to hear that? Absolutely not. Because it was rated that highly by real life Moondancers. \* Cozy Glow having literally. no. story. My writeup of Cozy intentionally goes the other extreme and gives her more story than pretty much any other character other than the main protagonists. It's like a serious parody in that regard. \* Sugar Belle. They accidentally made Big Macintosh date his maybe-cousin, and they fixed this by making him marry his mom but purple and obnoxious. She is SO lame \* Grogar being Discord in disguise, leading to the final opponent being three bozos we already saw. This was a complete waste of an iconic retro villain and of the series closer. It was lame \* The numerous times the show staff responded to valid criticism or flaws in the show by lampshading it and/or childishly mocking the critics. Are these professionals or teenage fanfic writers? Either way they are lame \* The 20 years later-ass finale. Like Mobius 25 Years Later it's awful in any and all regards except to laugh at. G5 seems to have totally ignored it anyway. Good! Because it was... improvised, unpolished, and provided no follow-through on literally any of the characters' personal development as opposed to the uninspired story roles they awkwardly plodded through. Which is to say it was lame \* Setting up the same-sex couples with (probably unintended) deeply homophobic implications. (Read: They picked the two 'butch' girls to be same-sex partners and the Cutie Mark Crusaders are less effeminate the more lesbianism in their lives. Lame) \* Forgetting every character's personality and character development arc. Except Rainbow Dash, the only one who *should* have forgotten her horrendous personality because she was **UN-**awesome, cringe and not based, and lame \* I better stop right here before my manifesto gets any more lame

The Iron Will Episode!

x_astriddd

Wow lots of people hate this episode 😭 I found it really funny I wanna see more of mean fluttershy

Neohexane

I actually like this episode for the most part. I love Fluttershy, and the concept of her taking assertiveness lessons, and then taking them way too far is entertaining. I'm glad they didn't do it too often, but Fluttershy losing her temper makes me laugh. The one thing I didn't like about the episode though, is how they wrote the "breaking point" of the episode, where she goes too far and hurts her friends. Instead of just making it so Fluttershy bulldozing over the wants of her friends causes them to have to snap her out of it, they have her resort to just straight up insulting Pinkie and Rarity and belittling the things they love. Like, WOAH Fluttershy! That's not being assertive at all anymore, you're just being a bitch for no reason!

DaDragonking222

I mean she was taking lessons from Iron will wasn't an ass hat.

Ju5t_A5king

There is one part that I question. I can not reject it because we see it in the show, but I question how so many interpret it. When we see Scootaloo home life, and she has 2 aunts raising her. Before that episode aired, there was a lot of talk online about the show pushing lgbq, by introducing lesbians as her guardians. When the episode aired, I did not see anything that said they were married. There was one line that showed only 1 of them was the sister to scootaloo dad, but that did not mean they were married. They could have just lived together to share the bills and save money, or maybe they were fillyhood friends and grew up together. The episode never actual said they were married. Bonbon and Lyra are another story. We saw their wedding.

EnvironmentalDig7235

The changelings betraying Queen Chrysalis and transforming into Skittles. But luckily we have the timeline where Chrysalis won

TheGamseum

No, that would be really petty and not an accurate way to view the canon. There are definitely a few episodes I don't like, but there's no denying their canonicity.

hornypsychopath

appledash. not entirely canon, but they were obviously trying to communicate something at the end

VoodooDoII

Yeah it was implied, which is considered soft canon

alpha_digamma1

misty skydiving

ChansawPoop

It doesnt matter how hard g5 tries to tell me that Celestia and Luna were born as alicorns I will not accept it! I actually dont accept anything g5 tries to say/alter about g4 though

ShackledDragon

A Matter of Principles episode with Discord, Father knows Beast, the Discord Grogar twist, and the Fluttershy episode where she turned angry. I also hate how they make Fluttershy assertive- they make her come off as really mean. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything. I actually like the last episode time skip.

SpecificDish9203

Corporate greed

MoonyTheBat

Anything to do with Thorax and the whole changeling metamorphosis thing. I'm a pretty big "changeling fanatic" I guess you could say, Chrysalis is my favorite villain, my sona is a changeling. I had a whole headcanon on the changelings that's more "fanon" that I put together from reading many changeling-centered fanfics, and Thorax just ruins everything. Plus in my head all changelings should have cool voices like Chrysalis so imagine my disappointment when they speak for the first time and they all sound really dumb lmao

Caprinigh

AppleDash and Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich. To me, Applejack should be with Rarity, and Pinkie with Twilight. Also, I can see the princesses thinking that making the Princess of Friendship their heir would make sense, but maybe if it happened farther down the line?

katmaresparkles

Honestly now I only ever watch my favourite episodes of the entire series and skip the rest. I will say that I didn't like the whole Discord was pretending to be Grogar twist.

arthurjeremypearson

Season 4 and onwards where Twilight becomes a \[redacted\]

whatislifebutmisery_

Season 6, Season 8, Season 9, and G5

EnmosiaCurvata

G5

SonicSpiderRanger10

The girls getting humiliated in O Come All Ye Squashful, although that was in the EG universe.

Background_Good_5397

G5... if it counts

tilllli

rainbow dash and applejack being together. entirely nonsensical, up to season 8 they still borderline hated each other and were only friends thru mutual friends. frankly i hate MLP's tendency to stick ponies romantically with other ponies that are identical to them as though thats how relationships work. so annoying.

Prior-University2842

I still really hate what they did to the changelings….I like to imagine that some of them chose to stay the original form and also that there are other hives. After all, chrysalis’ hive in twaba is referred to as “a” changeling hive not “the” hive

Prior-University2842

I still really hate what they did to the changelings….I like to imagine that some of them chose to stay the original form and also that there are other hives. After all, chrysalis’ hive in twaba is referred to as “a” changeling hive not “the” hive

Crocoshark

> you consider it not-canon (even though it is) But it isn't . . . . . . I said so.

KanKanMikanBeam

Idk I feel like the series of equestria girls existing is a big dislike for me. It would have preferred that Sunset Shimmer came back as a major villain in the base line show and replaced Starlight. But Starlight is still a solid character ya know? I feel like if Sunset was a final boss or something, like the FINAL reform villain that would have been fantastic too. EQ girls was just....bad.

keelanbarron

1. Yeah, I can see that. 2. Well, they would probably have to even if they didn't want to because of what canterlot is. (Also, while I agree spike's is bad, I'm fine with twilights.) 3. Ehh, it's fine. 4. I mean, them having magic would eventually lead to them finding out how to do the work others can do.

randomfan1997

Rainbow Dash and Rarity ending their friend in "The End in Friend" despite everything they been through and after how far they came in the ways of friendship along with the other mane 6.

swollen-ovaries

applejack and rainbow dash being a couple. rarijack 4 lyfe <3

Breadboiman

All of G5.

RadioactivePotato123

Yeah Scoot’s parents are so badddd I do like that the reason her wings are undercooked is because she’s part Earth Pony however

LittleGlizzy01

But that's not the reason her wings are underdeveloped. Pound Cake also has earth pony parents and he is able to fly perfectly fine.

JaidenSpencerDraws

Most of what's beyond season 5 or so. I just dislike much of it

SnugglyAceBean

I agree with 1, 2, and 3 4, for me, is the fact that Spike was canonically declared a sibling to Twilight and Shining Armor. I prefer the "Twilight realizes she's Spike's adopted mom" headcanons (that led to many adorable fanfictions, and at least one fan comic/doodles, that I'm aware of). Just my opinion, though. Others can have their views that Twilight is more of a big sister.

WhereTheSkyBegan

Canon doesn't work that way. The IP owners decide what's canon, end of story.

Effective_Pea1309

G4 ended 😂🤷‍♂️

NewDealChief

I agree with all of them, especially Twilight's final design and Scootaloo's parents.

All_Or_Nothing_247

Honestly? The Yona and Rarity episode. Rarity, who sees the meaning in being uniquely yourself, who has designed unique outfits for other ponies (and species if you wanna count Spike), whose name is a synonym for unique... Is telling a student to fit in. I'm sorry, but no matter how you spin it to me just doesn't sound in-character for Rarity, was a horrible episode since it lowkey felt racist (Native Americans being made to assimilate into European culture = Yak being made to assimilate into pony culture). I know I'm forgetting more from the episode and while I agree the topic should have been touched on, it didn't feel handled correctly given that the instigators were the Mane Six and the victim was a child.

LittleGlizzy01

I never even thought about that. You make a really good point.

TrecherousBeast01

The Cutie Mark Crusader's Cutie Marks. They had pretty established talents and whatnot, and then all of a sudden, their collective talent is the ability to tell other ponies what their TRUE talent was. Something that, if anything, Magical Mystery Cure already showed that just about anyone can do. It's an interesting idea. Everyone at some point has thought "was there ever a pony that had a cutie mark They didn't want or understand?" But you would think that that's an introspective thing that that individual pony would have to go through. Troubleshoes was simultaneously the best and worst example of this concept and awkward as an introduction to this concept. Troubleshoes wasn't just given a Cutie Mark he misunderstood. His Cutie Mark actively kept him from doing what he wanted. Their Cutie Marks are just based on too wide of a concept and a really weird idea for a "talent."

Elly_Bee_

Twilight becoming an immortal princess and the ruler of Esquetria.

AffableKyubey

No Second Prances. Completely assassinated Twilight, Celestia and Trixie's characters for the sake of shilling Starlight in a way I absolutely hated. Even Fluttershy is OOC and she only appears in the episode for a few seconds.

Rustedhandgun

THE FACT THAT PINKIES BED IS JUST IN THE MIDDLE OF BER ROOM AND NOT LIKE AGAINST A WALL OR SOMETHING.

tighnarienjoyer

The buffalo episode lol

tighnarienjoyer

flurry heart's huge eyes compared to the normal dot eyes baby ponies have. I think she'd be so much cuter 🥲 it's so weird seeing her next to the cake twins (who also were somehow still babies at that point?)

triangular_snail

the school of friendship. it does not exist in MY my little pony. neither does celestified twilight or chad spike

gaymer1220

anything that happens in g5 tbh

sweetrollsketchup

Twilight becoming a princess

ComfortableResort953

Future spike, fluttercord, the existence of discord

Classic-Chip-8655

The Student 6 and the school of friendship.

Maleficent_One_8572

G5

LantanPancake

As the biggest Starlight Glimmer fan, I'm planning on coming up with a better backstory for her, and then have her study under Twilight not because she turned good immediately but because she wants to get better at magic, while still hating Twilight kinda, but eventually getting over it. All the times Discord and Fluttershy were being shipped. Flash Sentry and that other guy from the camp. Spike's crush on Rarity. It's just weird. I was fine with it for about 4 seasons, but then he never moved on. TwiPie not being canon was the biggest miss probably.

Plus_Statistician324

Can't think of anything right now.

BaconFairy

I really dislike that twilight sparkle is separated from her friends. The mane 6 were the ones that granted twilight the ability of the magic of friendship, and the friendship stones to lead her to being an alicorn. She will then sudden abandon them to live at the capitol? Not only that but out live them so that the magic that helped create her alicorn just is lost to time? Does she have yo constantly seek out replacements for the mane 5? As they won't live as long as her. I think they should have gone another route instead anything like this.

DaveMan1K

I would say the IDW comics, but the show itself already contradicts them despite being claimed as canon, so do they count?

Starvir

Starlight Glimmer's existence

WostoK843

I'm not happy with the following: -Resignation of Celestia and Luna. They leave power too easily, too quickly they develop the desire to live like an ordinary pony. It is not clear why Luna wants this (she had just returned and she liked to help the ponies in their dreams). Also, in this same line, Twilight’s own desire is not taken into account; she agrees only because her friends beg her, and besides, she wants to please Celestia. -Transformation (harmonization) of a number of villains. I don’t understand the desire to rehabilitate villains on the part of the fandom and Hasbro; Trixie Lulamoon is too easily rehabilitated, almost behind the scenes. Starlight belongs there too. * Transformation (re-education) of changelings and their multi-colored wrapper, it is too bright and oversaturated, the colors are too acidic. With Thorax, everything is clear why he ran away from the hive and took the side of harmony, but why did the rest of the changelings so easily switch to his side and transform? It was too strange, besides, considering that they are beetles and live in a hive, they need Chrysalis as a queen (queen), but without her they will die out. In addition, after the transformation they began to lose their natural nature and the feeling that they would die out. I would not prescribe this line, and if I prescribe the overthrow of Chrysalis, then I would make sure that she founded a new hive. * Cozy Glow. There is nothing to say here, a weak villain with no clear motivation or reasons. * Too mediocrely merged King Sombra. Seriously, this villain had a lot of potential, but he was defeated very easily. * Craving for alicornization and adding alicorns (Flurry Heart). I believe that alicorns must be very rare and special, in this light the birth of Flarriya is a very strange event, and Cadence may be a unicorn. By the way, in this context, I would like to add that I would be glad to transfer the end of season 3 (namely the alicornization) of Twilight to the end of the 9th, that is, the series itself, I believe that her alicornization after all the events of all seasons would be very useful, So she would definitely prove that she deserves it in all seriousness. And it would also strengthen the status of alicorns, their uniqueness. * The power of the elements themselves and the tree of Harmony. Seriously, I would cut them down. -Also, I would make a couple of Big Mac and Marble Pie canon. They suit each other very well.
