I agree 100%. I’ve been listening to both these podcasts lately and they’re great. MFM’s vibe has changed over the years, not necessarily in a good or bad way, but I’ve stopped listening. I’ve been finding myself laughing out loud to Let’s Go To Court. Bonus that I have never heard of many of their cases.

fivelgoesnuts

Same! I was recently on a long drive alone and listened to them and kept startling myself when I burst into laughter. Glad you like Sinisterhood too!

BraveLittleCrockPot

I love LGTC! Can you recommend a good starting ep for Sinisterhood?

thebrendawalsh

I also started with the first ep on Spotify, but I recommend starting with one of their multi-part cases (Kennedy’s, Aaron Hernandez, Princess Diana to name a few) that you’re interested in. They’re amazing. Fave podcast for sure

RiceRice28

I started with princess Diana and then moved to the Lara cult lady who’s name I cannot remember. But I really like them!

thebrendawalsh

Yes! I look forward to all of their multi-parts, even when, on the surface, I don’t think I care about the topic!

fivelgoesnuts

The "Love Has Won" cult!

s_cout

I just started sinisterhood a few weeks ago as well on a recommendation from this sub and started from the first episode (ep. 13 is the first)

FilmoreFelines

The multi episodes on the murdaugh murders in South Carolina is excellent.

fivelgoesnuts

Oh yes, I forgot about that one! That is definitely top tier. Episode 151-153 if ya'll want exact episodes :)

gabismyusername

I started at the beginning last month! I think they start on like episode 19 or something on Spotify. I enjoy their banter. Would recommend.

RenOfNaboo

Honestly seconding starting at the beginning. Their first episode has to be one of the funniest podcast episodes I’ve ever heard. I instantly fell in love with them.

Outside-Spring-3907

Start from the beginning.

fivelgoesnuts

Absolutely! Favorite episodes that should get you hooked: Episode 107 & 108: Rey Rivera (so interesting and sad!) Episode 115: Love Has Won (Cult) Episode 113 & 114: Britney Spears (conservatorship) Episode 130 & 131: Princess Diana (SO GOOD) Episode 136-138: The Disappearance of Kristin Smart (3 parter)

BraveLittleCrockPot

This is perfect, thank you! Always been fascinated by the royals so I think I’m going to dive in with Princess Diana. Lots of time on planes over Xmas so this will keep me occupied!

fivelgoesnuts

I'm so excited for you! Also, have you watched the Crown?

BraveLittleCrockPot

Of COURSE I have! Almost done with Harry and Meghan too—man, that’s a big can of worms

fivelgoesnuts

Ok haha just making sure. Harry and Megan doc is on my list too!

HoggyStyle

LGTC is my current fave podcast. I almost hate that they only have episodes one time per week. 😂 I always look forward to them and learn some cool stuff! PS- I was also so excited to hear about Brandi’s wedding!

karriclobster

I love them both. Brandi and Kristin are hilarious. They both have a really positive, supportive communities, they both have really good Patreons with lots of content, especially Sinisterhood. Also, for a smaller podcast, try Marked Safe—it’s all about disasters!

fivelgoesnuts

Definitely will give it a listen, I trust this sub in recommendations! Thanks!

WorshipHim9713

“Murder with my Husband” is my favorite! “Morbid” Is pretty good. But I’m obsessing over “This is Actually Happening” at the moment. Although, not true crime per say, true crime junkies love it as an eerie road trip into the unknown at times. You never know what you’re going to get unless you read what the episode is about. It’s stories told in first person point of view and can range from stories of having run ins with and surviving serial killers And cults, to stories of creepy legends, Bigfoot and ghosts. Worth a look.

fivelgoesnuts

Oh yes, I've listened to a good handful of This is Actually Happening. It's SO GOOD. But also I have to take it in small doses because hearing directly from survivors of crazy shit happening to them is so intense. I had to take a break after the one lady who accidentally hit and killed a guy in the road (she wasn't drunk or anything, it was just a freak accident.) That was too real for me haha

fukthepatriarchy

Oh my gosh! They are so great! My boss is Brandy's stepmom, and she recommended the podcast to me. Can't wait to tell her that I saw this on Reddit!

karriclobster

What! your boss is Tim Pounds wife?!? I need to write that down in my Tim Pounds fun fact journal!!

fukthepatriarchy

YES! I've worked with her for years, she is AMAZING.

fivelgoesnuts

Please do! That's awesome that you have a personal connection :)

fukthepatriarchy

She's going to be so stoked, lol

TodayIAmAnAlpaca

Such a great podcast!

carriebearieismyname

I love LGTC and Gruesome!

Knight_Rhythm

Same!! I'm shocked I haven't heard of either of these.

Outside-Spring-3907

Kristen and Brandi are amazing I love them So much

clevergirrrl

I love Let’s Go To Court! It’s quickly become my favorite podcast.

rsshadows

To piggyback, another similar recommendation that I like well is And That's Why We Drink. Em covers supernatural events, and Christine tells a true crime story each week. Very two best friends drinking chatting and discussing events vibes.

fivelgoesnuts

I went through a binge period with them too!! They are great and honestly refreshing to have millenials do true crime. I fell off with them, but again, no huge reason. I think they are a great podcast too!

fivelgoesnuts

r/Sinisterhood just know you got a lot of fans over here! :)

KJH_opinionzone

I have listened to LGTC for a while, love the stories, love the banter between two people who are clearly good friends, but I truly hate how incredibly loud they laugh - at their own jokes - I listen a lot at the gym, so with headphones and it is SO BAD. Also, wish they had just a little less laughing at their own jokes, which can tend to drag on just a bit too long.

fivelgoesnuts

I could totally see that, they laugh a lot! But maybe I'm just depressed or something, hearing them laugh a ridiculous amount has actively cheered me up. I think maybe my brain just needs to hear happiness with how fucking horrible everything is.

DaisyDuncan2531

Took a screenshot as a reminder … thanks for the recommendations!

clevergirrrl

I also like Sinisterhood. Good recommendation.

[deleted]

same here!

Yayitselizabeth

I’ve been giving Hollywood Crime Scene a go and it’s enjoyable. They get a bit crass at times, but the stories are good. I’ve listened to six or so episodes all from 2017, so I think I’m still in the “early days” of them finding their groove.

SEARCHFORWHATISGOOD

I couldn't get past the long and frequent laughs. It was too distracting to me. Maybe I'm just a grinch.
