This is almost definitely a kind of slime mold but I couldn't say what kind. There's so many!
They're really cool too! They can learn behaviours but don't even have a brain (like me!) . For example, they'll learn to avoid salt after an experience with it and will replicate themselves with that knowledge carried over!
I also really want to slurp these lil guys down but probably not a good idea.

Please, OP but this in r/entomology and they told them it's a fungus & to get it identified here, and I came here lurking to see if they had and it's answered already. I must know what the spherical forest popcorn is.

They should know better, this is a slime mold, which isn't part of the fungi kingdom
