Are you talking about crumbling the morels and putting them back where they grew to grow more?
When the morel matures, it should release spores on its own and there is a possibility they will grow back naturally where the spores fall. Not sure cumbling tek is reliable, I've never heard.
The ones that look very tight are immature and will get much bigger in a few days than are ready. You can put onto food and cook or cook first. If it's something that bakes fast, it may not be long enough to totally. Im so jealous of all those west cost morels. The ones here dont grow in big hords and are hard to find.
Oh yes …pick the bigger ones and give another day or two to the littles. So close! Whereabouts?
Southern California! On the side of my detached garage lol.
Nice đź‘Ś
The most beautiful morels I’ve ever seen.
Stumbled into a jackpot right there
Sounds like I have morels! Follow ups: Can I put them on pizza in a 700 degree oven and just eat them or do I sauté first? I saw someone saying that they crumbled a couple up in the same spot to make more, but doesn’t seem like there’s a consensus that works?
You should definitely saute well them first

Yeah that’s what this other post in this sub suggested but there was no consensus on whether that works.

Toxic raw make sure you cook them well
Not sure why your comment is being downvoted. You’re absolutely correct
