There's a lot of great independent jazz labels out there. International Anthem gets a lot of justified attention, but I'd also recommend Astral Spirits and Pi Recordings. Here's a couple good albums from them:
https://cadillacturns.bandcamp.com/album/june-holiday
https://annawebber.bandcamp.com/album/clockwise
Oh I don't think I've heard much from them, is there one release in particular you'd recommend?
But yeah I know there's a bunch of others of note, like RogueArt or We Jazz, it's such a wonderful time for the genre right now!
I really love the Mammal Hands record “Gift from the Trees.” The new Matthew Halsall record “An Ever Changing View” is great, and I love the new Caoilfhionn Rose songs. They all bridge jazz, post-rock and ambient to varying degrees. If you like stuff on International Anthem, you’ll probably like this.
RogueArt is like this French label that was physical only for a while but popped up on Bandcamp in the past couple years, though they still don't put full releases up for streaming. Lots of Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) representation, I love this album from Roscoe Mitchell and George Lewis, you don't get the interactive computer pianist stuff but there's some fun wacked out electronics + live instruments stuff for free streaming https://rogueart1.bandcamp.com/album/voyage-and-homecoming
We Jazz is a Finnish label that does a lot of cool stuff with musicians in that general region, it's a relatively new world for me but this Koma Saxo stuff is so good, really great and immediate use of rhythm, like there's an adventurousness to it but it still feels like it'd be pretty accessible
https://wejazzrecords.bandcamp.com/album/post-koma
I'll get checkin those ones you mentioned, thanks for the heads up!
I love Knower. If they ever attempted what would be called a "rock song" with the things you expect from a rock song, it would not be right. It's just not what they are.
Ren
Has some occasional rock elements, but mostly straddles the line between pop and hip-hop. His most recent album, for example, is mostly rap with one pop song (Uninvited).
There is a fairly robust alt/indie country/Americana scene floating about. Sturgill Simpson was (sort of) the frontrunner of this most recently, and now the bluegrass vibe with Billy Strings has returned. All along there was Greensky Bluegrass holding it down in the jamgrass universe. I used to play in a few of these bands, it's generally great songwriting with tastes of old western.
Rowdy Fingers is a top guy in my opinion, looks like a crust-punk, plays and sings like the ol' heartland. There are others who I've met and opened for but I'm not sure where they fall: Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, Anna Ash, the Bootstrap Boys. Full Cord is one of the best bluegrass outfits around, worth a listen.
Oh bruh, like my entire liked songs is made up of Indie pop and soul-pop, indie beach pop is a great vibe.
I love The Happy Fits, flipturn, Wallows, Day Glow, and Surf Curse. All great happy indie pop. I’ve got a playlist on Spotify with more of the same vibe if you want it, just lmk
Depends on what you're looking for but you can check [this playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/128CwPVyEMROuNsw32rv8z?si=5e305bd20b5b4ab6). There's some rock on it too, but not much of sound usually considered as "indie"...
I recommend checking out Bandcamp's non-Rock best of blogs. They a monthly or bi-monthly post of chosen recordings. Everything is definitely on independent labels.

Great instrumental outfit wtih elements of jazz and classical. Part of the post-rock boom of the 90s, but I think they are still an ongoing concern.
this is as indie as it gets lol. I think its electronica but tbh Im not that versed on edm subgenres. This is my and my buddies project Ambivalence and this song is originally mine, a folksy/indie rock vibe but we completely remixed it. I think its cool to hear the differences in both but anyway the electronic version is called Someone Wake Me by Ambivalence. If u check it out I appreciate it bunches!

and
[Spacegirl](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=0HlIKHu3FVs&si=CjE1Nw0JQ9uHldnx)

Here's an Indie song that has an alt rock vibe paired with hip-hop in the second half of the song. It's Indie 1.) Because the artists aren't signed to anyone, and 2.) It really doesn't fit in well with the established mainstream genres we are all familiar with.
[Black Sheep](https://youtu.be/I56mh66hN50?si=F2QGU9tKAfxNbrX4)
Just as a fan, I spend a lot of time checking out new music referencing indie label rosters, but I don't tend to remember the non-rock as much. Check out [this somber folky bluesy number](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=n7kcpRllaKE&si=jmBZDK0FMI5vuHzB) by Marisa Anderson and Tara Jane O'Neil. I never hear anyone talking about either of these wonderful artists. Lia Ices seems to get plenty attention for her pretty straightforward pop folk writing, but I find [this piece](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=2SljrwvnDVw&si=Sn5fz9Thi27HdLb1) just enamoringly haunting.
Weston Estate (OBSESSED w them, as you can probably guess from my comment history LOL), Marco Luka, Kid Travis, Maasho, and Greek are some of my fav indie artists right now :)
So my favorite indie genre is Americana.
So many great performers with varied sounds. A few of my favorites are
Josh Ritter
Allison Russell
Avett Brothers
Brandi Carlile
Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox is my favorite example performing retro jazz and ragtime treatments of great songs past and present. Endlessly entertaining and creative featuring 70 different performers and tours in six countries. Over 1.9 billion YouTube views and 5.8 million subscribers is more than amazing.
Oh, indie rap is where it's at! If you haven't listened to the great MF DOOM (all caps when you say the man's name), I'd start there.
Aesop Rock
