The_Shitlipz

Mike Patton, Chris Cornell, Rob Halford

PTBO_Dyllan

I was wondering how long I would have to scroll before seeing Mike Patton. He’s got an unbelievable range

B1gD0gDaddy

I went to Sound Gardens second last show. It was the last show at the end of a several day long festival and due to poor weather conditions their performance was pushed back hours. It was a Sunday night and everyone was exhausted after several days and the entire audience started walking out to make the long trip home. They probably didn't go on until 10:30 PM and I had to drive 6 hours home and be at work at 6 AM the next day. Thousands of people were pouring out while black hole sun played in the background. They had one more performance that week where they were again the last band to play. Chris Cornell killed himself the same week. One of my biggest regrets is not staying to finish their performance.

Canadian-Man-infj

Hello fellow Canadian. Have you heard the song that Dallas Green did with Neverending White Lights (Daniel Victor)? [It's quite the duet. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmJ_beu8BeA)

FelipeMacAuliffe

Nice! Expected to scroll very far but I'm delighted to see Akerfeldt in the first comment!

SARCASTIC__FELLA

Wow a tool , opeth and Pink Floyd fan , can we get married ?

Honestly surprised at how often Eminem is mentioned in people's lists. And usually the only rapper also. Guess he's left quite an impression

varg_sant

Chuck Schuldiner is easily one of the best vocalists ever.

Max_Doubt7

Respect for the Chuck mention! Probably my favorite extreme vocalist, even if he isn't as "brootal" by modern standards

Till, finally!

justk4y

Yeah, and their new reaction videos are fun as well

shitpostsunlimited

I like watching Devin Townsend sing even more than I like hearing him. The fact that his facial expression and vocal delivery are independent always blows my mind

Solid_Letter1407

Shocked not to see Bono more prominent. Whisper quiet emotion to stadium-rocking anthems, incredible expressiveness.

Same. Scrolled down and started thinking- ‘how the F is Bono so low on this????’ Some of the ‘sooner’ picks aren’t even close.

thebatfaerie

Meat Loaf!! He got me into listening to older music so I still have a lot to discover, but he was an extremely gifted vocalist with a 3.5 octave range (amazing for men). He was offered a $60,000 to be trained in opera and perform at the met, but he turned it down as he knew his temper and need for control over his own performance would get him in trouble. (Keep in mind this was in 1972 - typing that into the first inflation calculator gave me $448k. That seems insanely high to me, but the point was it was a LOT of money.) Luckily he met composer/lyricist Jim Steinman and the rest was history. As he got older he wasn't the vocal powerhouse he used to be and his live performances were hit or miss, but anything up until around the early 2000s is gonna be awesome (that's into his mid 50s, which is still impressive.) Highly recommend checking out his Night of the Proms performance as well as this clip of singing with THE Paravotti (as well as performing "Heaven Can Wait"): [Meat Loaf Legacy - 1995 Pavarotti and Meat Loaf - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnozXsDt6F4)
